Grand Pro Circuit is focused on the 80s, the Crammond games were 90s and early 00s. the Crammond games also have 20+ years of mod support, and legendarily good AI. I'm more excited for GPC but I can see the market for the Crammond games.
hopefully this wakes up the iRenting crew and convinces them to rerelease their old NR titles and GPL.

I was playing original The Crew, then AC Rally dropped out of nowhere, and I haven't touched it since. Best way to play it is with cheats, so you have some extra money to fool around with cars. Also, Lossless scaling is a must since it's locked to 60fps. But it's just not a very fun game. All the roads and corners are super wide, offering little challenge. Crashing and cop missions are horrible, but at least they're not manadory.

I may have a go at it right now, though. I only need a few golds in AC Rally, and I'm saving those.

Announcing OVGLMGT3, ovg's return to GT3 racing in a brand new never seen before game - LMU.

Starting after BYOTC ends in mid january the series will take you through a tour of the base game tracks (and maybe 2 DLC rounds) ending in a 2.4hr le mans race in march.

Game is currently on sale, praise gaben, and you don't need DLCs to run the series as long as you're fine driving the McLaren, AMG or Mustang.

It's easiest to just pirate and try it yourself. I found it to control pretty well on a controller, but the way I use controller is probably different from you.
>>
>>28770892
I've been trying to learn to steer like that, definitely find it better for fine control around turns but I always end up missing my line compared to not doing it. Just need to stop being a bitch and put in more time. Couldn't imagine that for the throttle though, looks like it would work well, you'd just need to rewrite your brain. I guess you never tap brake while on the throttle like this?
>>
>>28770717
I'll have to think about it then, I'm not too big on spending money for MP-focused games.
>>28770892
i have seen (presumably) you shilling your GT-style control scheme in like five different threads on /v/ lmao. good to hear controller works well, though.
>>
>>28770898
>I guess you never tap brake while on the throttle like this?
No, but I guess you could still do it if you wanted by mapping brake to a second button like the back pedal of your controller in addition to the right stick. You just get much finer throttle and brake control by using the stick, which is why I can't go back to the triggers.
>>

>>
>>28770909
makes sense, I'm not good enough to take advantage of finer control at the moment, still end up just mashing triggers most of the time and relying on traction control and abs to save me

I cannot comprehend why did GT3@monza folk move to LMU when it's so much worse in almost all metrics than ACC. Even the sounds, in ACC you really can immerse youlself while LMU is as flat as rfactor 1. You get less tracks and the tracks that are available in LMU that aren't in ACC are rather shitty for GT3 racing.
>>
>>28771320
ACC has floaty physics just like AMS2 and you dont feel connected to the road. Keep coping nigger. The rF2 engine is where its at.
>>
Electronics simulation in ACC is also simcade at best. You're basically just playing a slightly higher fidelity of simulation of a modern gran turismo game.

is there much variation in race length in LMU beyond long and longer? considering picking it up to maybe join you guys but don't normally have a tone of time to fit in endurance races
>>
>>28771725
LMU has six types of daily races each week, which range from 20 to 60 minutes. Weekly races and solo special events are typically 1.5 to 2.4 hours. Team special events are longer.
Our series will be 50 minute races with one 2.4 hour race.
>>
>>28770101
In the first race, I used the Plymouth Superbird. In the second, I used the McLaren MP4-12C.
The third one was straight forward for a change, unlike that damned one lap magic a couple of weeks back.

If you, like some people had been talking about, want to participate but haven't before, just pick one of the 5 ERC Gojira Ascent (Honda Accord) on the server which are free for all.

nice quads, what i can read online it says it's very heavy which means that a high nm like the moza r12 wont shake it around, but that means it's also super heavy so not exactly easy to move either. Both easy to fold and move away but not good for much more than a G29, and loadcells did not work at all with my playseat i had to use zip ties to stop it from lifting kek

Because, as we have explained to you about every single race now, he and everyone else you race is taking a defensive line to compromise YOUR race Hazzard. If he stays where he is as he is doing your line into the next turns is going to be worse than his which is what he's deliberately doing. It's racing, and you expect people to stick perfectly to ideal racing lines as dictated by AI racing cars and keep crashing into people because of it. Learn this fact and get good and stop crashing into people because they don't drive like AI

My tire map theory for AC Rally:

It depends on cars, but in case of this 4x4. Back tires always start heating up from the bottom, while front always from the front. For example, think of back tire as having two patches, "bottom patch", and "middle/top" patch. "Bottom patch" indicates tire heating up or cooling down, and "middle/top patch" indicates status of the tire. Bottom only shows what will happen to the tire in the future. Exception is overheating the tire from excessive slides, or from locking the brakes. These show as purple colour, and they temporarily reduce grip, but slightly, and there's also no flat spot simulation.

The rest should be self explanatory.
Green "Middle/top" = optimal grip.
Red "bottom patch" = tire will heap up quickly.
green "bottom patch" while "middle/top" is red = tire is cooling down slowly

Only flaw with my logic is that sometime rear tires will heat up from the top patch to the middle... I've no idea why that happens. It usually happens in long high speed corners when tire is already green or orange. It may have something to do with tires sidewall flexing too much, like when running low pressure.

Yeah, but that was already covered in some other webm that somebody posted.
Also difference being, in that you had space to go left, and I expected you to for your optimal line.
In my case in this webm>>28773563
I had no space to go right.

Noticing the position and lines of other cars on the road goes beyond intentionally slower lines, defensive driving and whatnot like just don't drive into another car? Contact happens, misjudging a line happens but when you do end up being the dick who drives into someone else it's just your fault and you gotta learn from that. It once again is not that deep.
Are we supposed to race with you not expecting you to notice or care about other cars you're racing? And do what instead, if you're near give up the positions and any attempt at racing? Not how it works pal until you figure that one out yourself you're gonna eat more trees. You can do it, if you own a driver's license in real life you can (theoretically) not run into another car on the road.

Up to this point, absolutely. You have seen multiple cases of this happening. The not noticing part that is.
>And do what instead, if you're near give up the positions and any attempt at racing?
There is so many ways to gain a position on me that I'm confused why you want to try the more risky approach that relies on my noticing you trying to pull something. When you could just stay consistent yourself, stick near by me, and have me make a mistake and be able to cleanly overtake me.
Hint: My consistency goes down if there is cars near me. All this fancy shit for advanced drivers is completely unnecessary to pass me.

anons are contrarians and declare GT3 and Spa are bad because they're popular
>>
>>28775108
I never got the hype. It looks like they took the aliexpress shifter and 3d printed a case that looks pretty much the same. I want to build one of these.

but all they do is drive iRacing und LMU though???
>>
>>28775399
iRenting has road courses? I can't imagine ever playing that game for anything other than Late Model short tracking and sprint cars.
>>
>>28775248
it's not bad it's just incredibly boring by now, you have a pantheon of motorsports on your pc and the goycattle still drives the same combo for 10+ years
>>
>>28775416
because it's modern racing. contemporary machinery have always been the backbone of sim racing.
>>
>>28775419
there are literal historic gt3 championships in real life by now
>>
>>28775422
GT3 has existed since the 90s, and has simply evolved over time.
>>
>>28775424
the ruleset they use today is exactly 20 years old and gt3 on spa has been dominating sim gaycing since the early 10s, its boring as shit by now
>>
>>28775426
the cars are faster, the aero is heavily evolved, and not a single model that was racing in 2011 is still on the track today. the only thing a modern GT3 car has with one from back then is the name of the ruleset. like claiming an early 00s F1 car is the same as one from this season. do you see why I called you a contrarian?
>>
>>28775430
the only difference a 20 year old gt3 and a modern one is a bit more aero yeah, f1 had like 4 regulation cycles with vastly different cars in the same timespan, there is nothing contrarian of getting bored of driving the same shit for 15 years in a video game with infinite possibilities for content
>>
>>28775279
>reading comprehension
I meant that as a "defense" for GT3s. The shit that gets circlejerked over in here comes from that "more difficult = more realistic" train of thought, despite them also shitting on that at the same time
>>
>>28775436
you're being obtuse on purpose. a GT3 car from 2005 has practically nothing in common with one from 2025 other than being based on a late model GT road car. even if they were the same, that would only speak to the quality of the ruleset if they can last that long with minimal changes.
again, do you see why I call you a contrarian?
>>
>>28775440
the one being an obtuse retard is you, ever since gt3s became the de facto top gt class in the early 10s and every sim began the gt3 on spa era the cars have been fundamentally the same, there is zero incentive to develop extreme aero on a car that will be bopped and driven by 52 year old dentists as a hobby
>>
>>28775447
is that why lap times for them have been falling every year? all you're doing is exposing your ignorance when you try and claim the cars don't evolve. There's a reason why the shedbuilt Camaros and Jaguars from 15 years ago don't compete anymore.
>>
>>28775449
hop on a shitulator and drive a 2012 gt3 car and compare it to a 2025 gt3 car they drive in the exact same way because that's literally the philosophy behind gt3 racing are you really this retarded, shedbuilt cars don't compete because they can't compete with the customer racing infrastructure of autistic germans not because the cars are on an entirely different level in a bopped class kek
>>
>>28775454
>hop on a shitulator and drive a 2012 gt3 car and compare it to a 2025 gt3 car they drive in the exact same way
But you cant. Sure, they both have nannies but you cant go flat out in an early 2010s gt3 on most high corners at spa for example, they dont have the downforce for it.
>>
>>28775462
>lifting a bit more in corners means it is a completely different driving experience
I understand you are stephan ratel's strongest soldier but cmon
>>
>>28775476
You said they drive exactly the same. They do not. Shut up faggot.
>>
>>28775480
after 15 years now you don't need to lift at a couple high speed corners that's insain completely changes how you drive a lap
>>
>>28775486
Yes.
>>
>>28775488
No.
>>
>>28775490
