Learned not to guide the piston by hand and spin the starter to turn the engine.

It's a massive piece of shit and I don't like it.
Somehow the italians managed to make the simplest concept possible infuriating to work on. Can't even sell the fucking thing because no one is buying these.
Also still swapping out lifters for new ones currently, going to try my luck with red line oils as they apparently have higher zddp content than yuro oils do.

If it didn't sound so good, I would've chopped it into tiny bits by now. Actually parting it out might be the best thing to do if it still keeps on acting up.
Haven't had any issues with the shaft drive yet, so might as well give that a look before I do get issues.

>>28784271
It'll be fine, it's been almost a week and there's no necrosis or anything, bleeding stopped too, feeling should return once the wound completely heals up.
I was contemplating on putting the finger into a metal guillotine if there was necrosis as no hospital or urgent care clinic is going to do anything during the holidays, the perks of free healthcare.

The horrible design of everything mechanical, expensive parts, next to no good information online about it, workshop manuals are lousy as shit.
It's just plain not fun to work on it.

When riding it, the whole drivetrain is a really confusing mess stuck into the wrong frame.
It's a big boy cruiser frame, but the engine wants to be beat on, it wants to be ridden like you stole it. Cruising down the roads at low RPM will just chew through your camshaft eventually, yet the tranny is set up for high speed riding, the bike really starts to feel alive when you're breaking the speed limits, otherwise the gearing is just too tall on every gear.
There also isn't a straight gear, every gear is either an overdrive or under, no 1:1 gear at all which is just a personal complaint.
The brakes are also kinda shit. It has Maguro brakes, same as what old BMWs used and they're really mushy.
It has twin disk fronts, but only one of them works from the brake lever, the other one is diverted from the pedal and isn't very strong.
The carbs are also a bit finicky, but that also might've been due to my lifter issues.
Oh yeah also italian electronics.

It's a good looking bike and like I said, if it didn't sound so good I would've ditched it a long time ago. If my next lifter swap proves to be a good one and it stops munching through them, I'll keep it for long distance riding even if I don't really like it that much.

Got halfway back from a ride to find both of my sidestand bolts had BRRRR'd their way out, one completely, the other held in by 2 threads and blocked by the sidestand switch. COuldn't thread it back in either due to damaged threads and the weeping sprocket shaft keeping my chain all nice and lubed.
Had to jam a stick between the bolt and the switch to stop it coming out completely, could change down but not up without removing the stick again lol.
