Getting the front up is easiest with the clutch.
Getting the back up is easiest if you get as far forwards as you can.

Sup /dbt/
Just bought a new 2024 bike. Made the dealers replace the oil before they shipped it because it was sitting on the sales floor for over a year.
Today before my first ride when I went to check the oil I noticed it looked almost foamy after I ran the engine on idle for a few minutes, stopped it, and let it sit for a few more (per the manual this is the way to check the oil through the side view). Is this normal? I haven't seen oil bubble up like this before but then again I'm used to cars.
Normally I wouldn't be as on edge but this same dealer also shipped the bike to me with 10 PSI in the front and rear tires so if they fucked up something that simple I'm not sure how much I trust them with this.
Thanks frens. BTW the first drive on my own bike was fucking awesome, even if I did kind of freeze my ass off.

Dude that looks like ass.
Normally "foamy" oil is from being overfilled and being whipped from rotating parts like eggs in a blender.
But thats not overfilled.
The color looks more like water contamination.

Great that you got into the two wheel freedom club.
That oil is contained with water so I recommend doing and oil change asap.
When you do the oil change check the oil for rust also because if that has been there awhile you new bike might be on its last legs.

Fuck that makes me sad.
I put about 15 miles on the bike after its first ride today.
How fucked do you all think the engine after that?
Gonna have to do some research and see if I can find a test or something that will show me how much water is in the oil. Might try to get them to give me an extended warranty out of it.
In the mean time I guess I'll change the oil and filter and see if it looks similar on fresh oil.

Could be a thermostat thing.
The one in my TL1000S opens at 82°C on the dot, even after half an hour on the motorway I can pull up to the lights and see it dip under 80°C, Was an issue with earlier models where the ECU would stay in the cold, rich map and cause issues with oil fuelling. If your area runs even the slightest amount of ethanol in the pump gas this could be where it comes from.

The R's pop up locally every now and then in NZ, but they are firmly in the collectors bracket now. There was a tidy one with idk 40k/m and they wanted 12k for it.
Picked this S up with 32k/m on the clock for 6k since it already had the ohlins rear damper swapped out. Had one about 15 years ago without, spat me of when the rotary unit fatigued, didn't ride on the road again for another 8 years.

Also, when i say "faster" these things maxed out at like 180kph lol

The Kwaka had the higher redline, USD's, but also the stupid 18" rear (on the A model at least), the fake air scoops (on the A model at least, they feed directly to the rectumfryer above the engine) and the timing chain tensioner that had a nasty habit of seizing between 30-60k.

My bikes oil gets bubbly oil sometimes. They go away after half a minute or so.

>>28789211
This guy has a point. I have a pickup truck that I dont drive much and make short trips in most of the year. It gets a lot of built up condensation in the engine that you can see on the underside of the oil fill cap. Not a big deal if you change the oil once a year.

>Clear cover on a wet clutch.

WHen my work downsized from production to skeleton before untimately finishing the offshore move, we had an LPG hoist that would sometimes just see moving in and out of the warehouse every day for a few months.. Turned into 6 months. 12.
We had a guy come around to give it a service before appraisal and the oil was milky AF, pretty much wrote the engine off. I just changed the oil and did laps around the carpark for half the day to prove him wrong, BAM an extra 5k into the bosses pocket, none for me.

But yeah, if it never gets up to temp and all it does is inhale moisture after every heat cycle that isn't up to temp, there you go.

I'm going to need a lot of conditioning if I'm going to win overall in the Baja 1000. Also, the ground seems so far away when you're standing up. very scary, but also A TON OF FUN.
