>No Chameleon tranny thread

This thread is for bike riders, who have bikes. The other threads are for advanced literbikes of 900cc minimum edition, and learner bikes under 900cc.

Baked because chameleon tranny's last thread was making people vomit out of disgust, at how gay it was.

>Actual bike things, discussed by people who actually have bikes
>biker tricks, like wheelies, stoppies, and posting bike
>gear advice from bike having chads: you don't need gear if you don't have a bike. If you can't post bike, you don't have bike.
>biker wife pics, webms, and swapping
>Biker discussion with lbike havers, and people looking to get a bike. Disregard the one permaseething chameleon tranny - Who has never posted bike or hand. Never.

>600 is the recommended learner bike minimum, a liter over 900cc is expected for elite riders

Alright dbt I wasn't going to post but thinking more and more about this keeps fucking with me and I need answers. No this isn't blowing smoke up my own ass I am just genuinely confused how I won a light-to-light ~1000ft race with what is objectively a slower motorcycle.
>Fixing up buddies 1999 vfr800
>just simple suspension tweaking testing, he wanted me to just see if I feel something wrong with it. Not the point.
>at red light
>Beaner on a 2010? 2008? gsxr 600 100% a 600cc gsxr pulls up to me
>dudes rockin white vans, regular blue jeans, a normal looking Hoodie, and a unknown brand helmet
>"Ay maen wanna race to the next light? I like your bike, I built mine"
>I ask what did you do to it? I'm down but you're gonna win, you got way better power to weight ratio"
>"mane I got a power commander tune for it just now, I got custom exhaust (he just had open headers no slip on can), carbon fiber panels, brembo brake calipers"
>Both line up, both at a stand still
>Greenlight.exe
>we pull off, and to my shock it wasn't even close.
>we get to the top of 1st gear then top of 2nd gear before reaching the next light
>he wants to go again to the next light
>I tell him alright but this is my last one
>Same fuckin thing, gapplebees.
>he waves, hits a modest wheelie, and peels off to the left, I was friendly and waved back
>I get home, completely dumbfounded. Even if he was THAT bad at launching he weighs 150 pounds less and I imagine with all those mods he has at least 10 more horses than me
>Even with the vfr having 200 more cc's than the gsxr it's still a fucking (modified) gsxr vs a fatass 500 pound stock sport touring bike
The only answers I've told myself that make sense to my brain is the torque from the V4 vs a I4, but we both got to our top ends so yeah I might get off the line but he should've blown past me midway through.
Maybe he failed a launch and I didn't notice? Twice though??? How?? Am I missing something?
>>

I get it. It's just how our local strip does it, most of the guys are more interested in the free runs before the dial-ins are established - adjusting the stackup in-queue.
I'll admit to being flattered when a guy on a stretched and rad-deleted busa was overly flustered about thinking 'I didn't think was going to catch him' with a 2s handicap, since I 0.3s busted out of my bracket.

Yeah, sidevalves kinda suck shit desu, but they sound and look cool so it's all justified.
Maybe the only advantages they have over OHV engines are their size and simplicity.
There's next to no moving parts in the cylinder aside for the valves and piston, no valvetrain really either.
Also if the valves seize, like it has done on the rusty cylinder in the pic, there's no mechanical damage because the valves aren't in the way of the cylinder.
Only way to get any simpler than a flathead is a 2 stroke.

Thats honestly the best colora for the zx14r, id love to fairinf swap someone who wants my green front and gray blacked 2019 colorset
Only my fairing is a bit botxhed from previous owner on the skeletized side panels
I would madmaxx my fairings if it included quick on and ofd latches instead of bolt ons, but then imma get stolen probably
Sucks i hate fairing diassembly, especially on this one
I am at least thankful that the oil filter and drain port are somewhat accessible without a full tear down

Also bros, the crf has remained partially disassembled fron the other month valve teardown, i have yet to go further as i found my clearance measurement was a bit off with the intake on one side, i need like a half size thicker plate that i do not have on my tool, and i dont know if i should try and find a inbetween size on another tool or where to proceed for the moment
Its between .8 and .9 but i cant quite get the .9 in there and the .8 is loosy goose, and thats not really helpful for like a +/-.03 tolerance
Do i need that extra level of accuracy for shim measurement?
I hope a valve and seat isnt worn down, but idk if im going to fuck myself with further disassembly if i miss that .02mm or whatever because my tool lacks the appropriate size plate for measurement

Also fwiw i had a bit of oily residue on the header pipe connection, when i stored it on an angle a few mL pooled outside it, which confirmed that he was burning oil before asploded incident

I hope i dont need to polish and port new valves or something extremo gay, im thinking new shims and probably a piston ring will get it in working order again, but im kinda debating ordering a full top end kit and keeping spare parts for another time, then once im done reordering whatbi used from the kit so i have a fullset on standby

What do you guys think about the crf?
He needs new spokes for the rear, probably front sprocket, an oil and coolant change, and probably some other odds n ends

Hey /dbt/ been o rough winter round my way so ive not been riding much. Got an optimate4 but theres no outlet near where i store the bike so i just put in on like a day a week. Battery is agm and i charge it on bike. I forgot for a while and the optimate went through its desulphate mode but on charge after 24hrs it would only go 80% or so. Thought my bettery was on its way out, but i took it off the bike, hooked it up and it charged right up, optimate showing green, voltmeter showing 12.8v. Is this normal? I dont have anything on the bike that would be drawing current, alarm or gps or anything.

Any recommendations for a motorcycle stand? Bike weighs a little over 500 lbs.
Just need something that's built decently that won't break the bank to do general maintenance on a bike.

Look into the abba super bike stand. Easy and safe one-man operation, sturdy as fuck.
