crazy expensive for a 125 because nostalgia.
the ones in north america are a pain in the ass to set up for a pillion.
also the north american ones have ugly angular turn signals honda stole off a much more modern looking bike I assume to meet minimum turn signal separation. seen here>>28884264
I look at the east asian honda websites and everything about those cubs just seems better than the ones we get here.

I rode for 25 years without having a license, just showed my regular car license when stopped by cops. Never had a problem, but this was in American red states where the cops don't care what non-methed out white people do.

Between the high prices and need for higher speed/acceleration on US roads the math on choosing a scooter over a moyorcycle is just bad in the US. Not to mention the ease of theft, which makes owning a scooter risky in the one US environment where they are actually a practical choice.

I'm a newb getting license, can you tell me something about Suzuki Vstrom DL650 pls? I like how it looks and Im sure I will love riding it, but how it is seen among other riders? Inb4 gayest motorcycle ever
>>
>>28884305
I did that by accident. When I turned of age I got a motorcycle license *only* which I could do as it's a separate license class in California, not an endorsement.
Years later the CA DMV decided to treat it as an endorsement and require a car license first. People like me who had an MC only license got converted to a car-only license in the ensuing confusion. So I was riding on a car-only for some amount of time... I only learned of this when I noticed a no-license surcharge on my insurance. SOOOO I got to do that damned tests again.
Since then someone sued the DMV and forced them to follow the law. You can get an MC only license again in California.
So end the end I took the MC tests twice and never took the car tests but I have a car license as well.
BTW when it was MC only I drove cars and got pulled over plenty of times, dumb cops never noticed. Never got caught without the MC license on a bike tho.

A Northern UK vtuber made an offhand comment regarding CN motorcycles, and it stuck with me.

>The middle managers of sedans, the ones like Toyotas, Hondas... It's so easy to be replaced by the likes of Hyundai and Kia. And that's exactly what the Chinese bikes are doing.

Leaving aside price, because I understand money is tight these days, and leaving aside if the CN manufacters are on the same level as the KR Chaebols, this is a fascinating analogy. Not that Kla Kia or a Hyundai is terrible, but past 100k miles, I didn't think most people equated a Honda or a Toyota to a Kia in terms of reliability, or parts breakage.

UK bros, what's the average mileage you guys put on a car each year? How many years before your cars hit the 100k and 200k marks, respectively? I'm wondering if this isn't a difference in hours spent on the highway between how US and UK/EU people approach vehicles.
>>
>>28884469
What vtuber?

The Madass did come as a 160cc at one point, with a 4 speed manual transmission. They have a clutch too.
I've seen one 160cc madass myself, but they're incredibly rare over here because ain't no one going to pay A2 motorcycle money and insurance for a souped up A1/125 bike. A lot of kids just put big bore kits on the 125 ones to make them more or less 160cc and didn't tell the officials about it.
>>
Every video ive ever seen on 125cc bikes its always "this is a great bike for beginner or teen riders". Why is this a thing ? Is it an American thing since 125cc bikes are basically useless because of the speed requirements? It's so much more fun to zoom around in a 125cc than a 1000cc about 95% of the time. I admit that the remaining 5% of the time (when I'm riding on the freeway) is less fun on a 125cc. Ive tried all kinds of bikes, but for my country where we barely ever have speeds above 60 a 125 is so much more fun

I actually accelerate just fine. You're definitely not doing highway speeds because the wind is really bad and people are going 90. But I take florida state roads with 65mph limits no problem. And I accelerate to 35 faster than most cars, then keep up well enough up to 55. It honestly works well for any intracity travel. I can even go orlando-daytona on "back" roads, but I wouldn't want to do it often. The only problem really is the $6000 price tag OTD.

This is the main thing.
The 110 is like 2k in Japan and the 125 is around 3100 in Japan.
They shouldn't be over 5k here in the US, very few are going to buy for 5k but I could see them being bought for 3100.

Can i remove brake pads and clean a calliper without removing the brake line?

Recently fitted new forks with a disc set up to replace the drum of death
Brake is sticking slightly, bike still moves and stops, but its dragging, i cant get my little 125 sewing machine to pull in 5th gear

Its terrible. The ECU reprograms itself to make the fuel/air more rich on long highway rides. When you exit the highway and downshift it floods the engine and stalls in first unless you give it a little throttle. Getting access to the engine requires unstacking origami for about an hour. So many specific tools just to use for one thing. Pic rel. Socket attachment to get access to the fuel pump.

That's strange. The same engine is used in F800R, F800S/ST and F800GS, and god knows where. In fact it's an austrian Rotax 804 engine, who also produces aircraft engines. BMW most certainly has used ECU from Bosch to control it, and it's simply the best ECU manufacturer in the world. How common is the issue? I'll spend some time asking Chatgpt about it.

Scooters would be great in cities, but there's only one state that lets motorcycles filter and split lanes. For the other 90% of the US population, you're just sitting in traffic like every other asshole, but without the benefit of AC/heat. There's zero reason to ever buy a scooter when an e-bike (or even normal bicycle) lets you filter, spilt, get your own lane, and park off the street for like half the price of a scooter.
>>28884562
Which sucks because there's tons of times where just going down the intersate for an exit saves so much time than taking the normal roads. It just gimps it too much to be really useful as something other than a toy.
>$6,000 price tag
This is the real thing that strangled it. How the fuck did Honda ever think that number made sense?

>>28884387
Honest to god, I'd pay the extra €1k just for the v twin. I've got to buy gloves with gel pads in the palm to keep my hands from getting numbed by my parallel twin being so buzzy. As much as it sucks to have the sv650 replaced with another fuckass asphalt adv, just be glad they didn't shove the gsx-8r's engine in it. Also, the 20hp difference is meaningless.

I fucking love the snake, it’s such perfect road, absolute joy the whole way up and down. I wish every road could be so tight and technical while having short quick straights and wide sweeping turns. It’s just so fun
Finally came out here with my camera and got some cool action shots, the people of the snake are fucking talented

If it were me, and I was in Japan, I’d probably go this one. Seems to be the road less traveled, and if your goal was seeing the scenery- seems like a good idea.

I listen to nigger music in my AirPods while riding. Is it a big risk that if I die and the cops/EMT's see my phone they'll think I'm a wigger seeing that playing? I'm a white supremacist but listening to coon tunes can definitely invoke adrenaline while breaking traffic laws.

Thats bullshit, there is no way the transmission has any influence on the engine and how it runs in idle.
I guarantee its not dependent on the gears you use but on oil/engine temperature.

they are much cheaper than quadlock and doesnt required you to glue quadlock adapter to the back of your phone or buy a new case

No, he's not. The insurance company said the claim could take like 10 business days to process, so I probably won't get their lowball offer until late next week. It also wasn't in a garage, but a parking lot off the alley. An actual covered garage spot around here costs at least $225/month.

Its a manufacturing defect, all of the early cb1000 engines are affected. Honda issued a recall to replace the engines in the future, but im stuck now with it, and dealer has no idea when will that happen. At least the dealer gave me free oil.
Also,
>loud buzzing clutch lever at 7k+ rpm, dealer cant fix
>body plastic near the fork buzzing at low rpm, dealer just taped foam there

I dont know what to do with the clutch lever. If i hold it forward it kinda helps. Tightening or loosening the cable nut doesnt help.

So a KTM bike then, I own a duke 200 v2 for daily work commute. Traffic is mad where I'm from, i drive on weekends and occasional mountain twisties ride during weekend evening with my duke, does feel like riding chocobos.
