Insanely unpopular, yet absolutely insane bike for the price. The front parallel suspension alone is absolutely bonkers. Will I kill myself on it? Probably, but I really want to buy it as my first bike.

Xth for HOW DO I IMPORT A BIKE TO GERMANY AS A NON RESIDENT.I'm a burger tourist with family in the country fwiw, so I do have a valid address I can use.
I'm the one asking about swapping CB125F for Super Cub. I live in Portugal, I don't think we get Hunter Cubs or Trail Hondas here, at least I haven't seen any. I don't think the pain in getting is from poor suspension but because my thigh gap might not be wide enough or I'm just to short since I can teach the ground only while tiptoed or by leaning the bike to the side. That's why I looked at Super Cub since the seat is very different and there's no fuel tank between the legs.

>>28943841>I don't understand ape hangers. What is the point of them? Are they comfortable or something?Ape hangers ideally raise the hands around shoulder height, allowing the rider to sit more upright. This makes long rides more comfortable since you're not leaned forward supporting your torso with your arms. Cruiser riders can't really use their legs to help support their body like sportbike riders do. Raised arms, upright torso, and feet forward resting on highway pegs makes riding all day very easy. As long as your ape hangers aren't so extreme they take your handa too high then apes are very practical.

Anons, out of curiosity, why is it that 2 stroke dirt bikes aren’t good for the road even if you go through all the hoops to do it? Why is it that even a dirt bikes aren’t from the 70’s has to be rebuilt after so little hours?
>>28945326This is just a regular social media site my guy. Not like it was 20 yrs ago
>>28945324Was probably me, the 650 OHV crankshafts are 5 piece pressed together contraptions, whereas the 750 is 3 piece. The 5 pieces are really flimsy and prone to twisting really easily. Also they stopped making them in like 2001 completely, supply is slowly running out because like 90% of them are stuck in Russia.
>>28945329Do you know when people say things like "i'd rather have torque vs horsepower"? 2-stroke engines have dogshit torque curves but make a lot of power. Even the guys who like peaky high horse engines have generally conceded that 2 strokes are no fun for everyday use, you need to be racing. I've only ever ridden an old kawasaki 2 stroke road bike, so my personal experience is admittedly limited. However, this is what I gathered from that experience, and talking to the owner of said bike about his fondness for 2 strokes.
Should I buy a 25 year old katana 600 or a 25 year old ninja 400 or a 25 year old zx6r?All clapped to the moon and back fb marketplace deals all sub $2000. I've ridden hella dirt bikes and fo wheelas, but I want a old ass street bike to commute 3 miles to work and back. My daily driver is an inline 6 and it only takes premium, which is just a bitch and a half in the current economy. Want something cheap that looks kinda cool that I can wrench on. I'm leaning towards the katana. Also no I won't buy a dual sport or a cruiser I want an early 2000s street bike.
>>28945342That makes sense I guess. I also have a fondness for 2 strokes. It’s a shame it’s just like that, but admittedly there is a part of me that wishes it were more practical to take an older (70’s) or newer (00’s) YZ250 and just street legal it. But either way, apparently the engines need to be rebuilt after like 60 hours. Which is nothing compared to road bikes.

>>28945400I've got one on the back of my scrambler right now.
>>28945377The thing with 750s, especially post 2005 ones is that they're pretty much completely handcrafted and they use a lot of fancy parts like paiolin and ohlins auspension, keihin EFI, nippon denso epectronics, SKF/FAG bearings with CNC/laser cut Herzog gears in the engine and tranny.I understand the price as they're not pumped out by the thousands per month anymore. It's not the tractor of a bike it used to be, they're "fancy" boutique bikes now.You can make do with a 650 too, but you have to know your way around their flaws and quirks or living with one will be pure agony.I love my 650 and after the 3rd engine rebuild it's been fairly stout, only had some minor issues thus far like leaky intake gaskets and the cardan wedge bolt coming loose.

>>28945348>I want an early 2000s street bike.Based as fuck. Of those, the ZX6R is probably the best bike. Depends on how clapped out it is, of course, but of the options, the ZX6R is the best. The styling of the Katana is absolutely iconic, though, and the Ninja 400 is the default "best ever starter bike", so no matter what you go with you'll likely be happy. That said, go with the ZX6R, it's a real, dedicated, liquid cooled supersport instead of the oil-cooled katana. It's got around 20 more horsepower which makes a hell of a difference on a bike. The Katana will probably be comfier, however!

If you are a tall fag, get an ADV like G310GS, F450GS, Himi, DR650, KLR650.Sound: You are asking for too much in the low end. But twins with 270 do sound good. Bros, riding sport bikes is kinda hard. Being on the drz is such an easy, breezy, beautiful cover girl kind of ride, but the R6 wants to be at the top of each gear constantly. I was thinking to myself, "gee, it's kind of windy." I looked down, and I'm doing 95 in the middle of third. On the XRR, I'd hit 100mph at the top of fifth. I get it now why people have difficulties with low-speed stuff. A supermoto is easy mode and makes me feel like a pro. Also, sometimes, it doesn't want to shift into first. It's that a sport bike thing, or do I need to adjust something.
>>28945771As far as I know only the V45 was given the bad cams. Magnas and Sabers should be fine. While Honda never admitted to the cam issue on the V45 they did offer to replace them with proper ones if they where discovered case by case.I wouldn't consider the 1100 to be too much as long as you show it respect and appreciate the slightly steeper learning curve. Though I wouldn't trade my 750 for a 1000 Interceptor, I say go for the 1100. Either way you'll be satisfied I think. But I've never ridden a 6 speed VF bike. The worst part about supersports isn't the ergonomics (okay if it's a stock ZX10 then yes it is Jesus Christ why is the seat to peg so tight) or the engine (which is great) or the brakes, but that they have no goddamn steering lock.

>>28946266>>28946267I appreciate that the words I just posted also mean exactly what you interpreted them as but I meant that their turning circle is fucking miserable at low speed.

>>28945418Anons, in all my research and obsessive looking I keep coming back to the Ural.. it just looks like a fun bike. Honestly, I’m thinking about hitting up this guy and seeing how low he’ll go. Think he’d do 3k? I mean worst case scenario if the engine busts I could just swap it, right?
>>28946263That's because they were made to go fast around race tracks. Not parking lots. Companies sponsoring races use them to sell bikes, so we get to have the toys for the street too.
>>28946275They hit the steering stops before anything else unless you have some really jacked up clipon setup but the general lack of space between the frame and the fairing for handlebars is why they're like that I guess. Fuel tank isn't really a consideration on its own, on my GSX-R most of what's close to the bars is just a hollow plastic cover which is why bikes with even moderate clipon risers can fix this shit, it's when the bars are beneath the top of the frame you're just kind of hosed.
>>28946263I noticed the same thing today. I'm used to how far you can turn the bars on a dual sport, and it keeps catching me off guard.
>>28946297That looks great.

>>28946279>I mean worst case scenario if the engine busts I could just swap it, right?Right. A modern carbed 750 engine might be pricy, but they're basically set for life in these things.Even so despite all the horror stories, the 650 when treated right will get you quite far too and be relatively easy to live with.To be honest all the engine breakdowns I've had were largely my fault.1st one was when I pushed the bike to around 160kmh, which it does not like on an engine that had been flooded for a decade and hastily put together.2nd one was probably due to not properly seating the flywheel to the crankshaft which caused it to wobble, crack the crank snput and twist the crank assembly. On my 3rd rebuild currently and it's been a year of largely no issues at all.Urals are avibe as the kids say, they're objectively bad bikes, but something about them just clicks with you after spending some time with them.VW beetle and early honda gomdwing swaps are quite common in these things, along with yanmar V2 engines.BMW airhead engines were the go to swap for reliability on these, but airheads are starting to get quite rare nowadays.
