>>4466255You're not just a miserable liar, but a mental midget
I am saddened by what this thread has becum.
>>4465968Why an NC Miata, anon? Not insulting you, just curious.
I am so looking forward to getting this back soon, it's in the shop right now.

>>4466578Sounds like you lack skill. I have no issue shooting everything with a 40mm prime unless I SNEED le creative control for rocks and leaves wank.
>>4466581Please show me an image that was only possible with a prime and not a zoom because of this pop you speak of.Oh wait. 40mm you say. Ah you're a streetfag. Your opinion means nothing.>inb4 weight and sizeThe difference of 200g too much for you?>inb4 biggr apertureBokeh whoring is a skill issue>inb4 low lightThe ONE time a prime makes sense outside of controlled conditions, and you've still got to grasp the fact that your composition is going to suffer just in order to not have a crushed subject.
>>4466557I just swapped from a capture clip to a cotton carrier skout. Never looking back. Waaaay comfier with anything heavier than 500g and I can remove the camera one handed. I like its positioning better. It's less secure which makes the safety clip necessary, but I can live with that. I'd rather use a strap with my backpack than the capture clip, I just don't have a light enough setup and many of my backpack straps don't fit the clip well (my smallest pack BARELY works and it's a huge pain to clamp it on).
>>4466592>cotton carrier skout>average /p/ gearfagAhahhahahaha
>>4466580What about the kodax Pixpro? It has 16MP compared to my iPhones 12
So is everyone using Lightroom or what? I already have Affinity 2 and would like something with a permanent license for library as well.
>>4466263there are several ways to do highlight recovery, I never had an issue getting highlight detail backuse either tone equalizer or color balance rgb and use the brilliance gradingyou can use masks to only affect the sky or the upper luninance ranges, if neededyou could also just make a 2nd exposure module, then make a mask for the highlight areas
>>4466190The right stick looks like that because it's moving upwards from a frontal perspective at 1/60", but the picture was taken with the mechanical shutter.

Can we finally effortlessly stitch panoramas in Darktable or Rawtherapee? As in, having it work as good as in LR or C1 in a single click, with multiple type of panos.

novice question here. looking to do wide-field astro but I have the worlds shittiest $20 tripod (quantaray qsx2001). should i just wait and invest in a better tripod or can i get away with using a shit tripod if i weigh it down or smth?using a canon ti5 and samyang 16mm f/2, no star tracker because i'm broke.

>>4434712Best one in this otherwise sterile overly processed STEM brained garbage thread. I really like this anon. Very celestial and mysterious. Nicely composed. It is the juxtaposition of blue, mountains and woods makes it so fucking kino. This is art.
Hello. I figured this was the best place to ask. I'm thinking of getting my first telescope. A SkyWatcher 300P. Will I regret it?
Shameless edition.Last thread: >>4457780
>>4466140Music is also not merit based. All of pop stars are industry plants. That doesn't mean shit. Art music still exists. Then there are clever pop stars like Charli XCX who find ways to penetrate into mainstream. If you do good work and you know your audience then you will gather attention. An artist has to be sharp minded. Knowing how to market yourself is a key skill of being an artist. This lone wolf starving hermit artist is literal fiction. Nobody is coming to publish you. At. first you gotta make moves, network and market yourself.>>4466141>bandcampThere is no such site for photobooks. Distribution of music is totally different from photography. Still new hotshot bands like Black Midi were signed with labels.
>>4466141That's like having an Instagram, not printing a photobook
>>4466144On bandcamp at least you can present your music in a dignified manner where you get your own page for an album and you can stylize the presentation of page and present everything in a structured manner.
>>4466107How are you? How has your mental health been?
The majority of people who get published because they are good started out as self published artists.Going to a publisher first and succeeding is a strong nepotism/cocksucking/sellout/politically favorable trash indicator.
Any love for the Game Boy Camera and printer here?Sure nowadays even the chinkest of cameras and printers may be better with printing via phone bigger and clearer photos but there's a certain charm and fun in doing with with a Game Boy of all things.
Mine had photos from the previous owner, seems like a cool guy. I hope he's doing fine.

>>4462992I have like 10 packs of GB Printer paper unopened. I got them from TRU on clearance for like .25 each. The funny part is that I didn’t get a Printer until like 10 years later.
>>4466372There's a pretty high chance the chemicals in those roll is faded by now, I'd suggest getting new rolls.I've seen people recommend this one if you live in the States.

I enjoy the process of photographing quite a bit, I enjoy editing, I enjoy every stage of the photographic process. However, at the end of it all, I am left with a bunch of nice, edited photos, and they just sit unseen on my hard drive forever. What are other anons doing with their photos after they have something they are satisfied with?
>>4466322>lly dont make things social just to make things social. Male photography is about taking ownershipThis is all so hilarious because I DO like to take pics to share on social media, I am also a married millenial male with a child, and I can bench 2x my bodyweight, whereas you are a coping basedlet faggot telling me who the real man is. OK buckster, go get em
>>4466353That homo sounds like a lesbian to meIt IS manly to do shit for yourself, but men can still decide to share. >>4466350You mean Nikon before they went full videofag?
>>4466341There's literally a button that says "MODE" on the d850 kek
>>4466355We need a camera with a MOOD button I think.
>>4466355Yeah I kept hitting it and twisting the lower ring on the same dial expecting it to be like a PASM dial, instead turns out you have to press it and the rear right scroll wheel next to the AF button. It was kinda annoying. Too many fucking buttons. The D780 I picked up was a lot more intuitive/easier to use. Pic related to see what I mean. I was pressing hold and twisting the ring on the same dial expecting that to change modesAF also wasn't working when I half pressed the shutter only if I pressed the AF button but that could've been some retard reprogramming it while it was on display.
>>4466371you should be using bbf anyways
The shot is really great and i was wondering if there was a specific studio that makes these kinds of photos? I was thinking of Harcourt in Paris, but no online confirmation that Tyler was photographied there. Also which camera/gear can produce this kind of quality?
>>4466351It looks fake because it would be impossible to use camera movements to get an oval shaped focal plane that is only on his eyes like that.
>>4466356not even with a tilt-shift lens?
>>4466358Definitely not. You can only change the angle of the focal plane. You cant shorten it or change the overall shape. It will always carry through the entirety of the image. Perspective shift wouldn't achieve something like that either. Falloff is also too sharp. Here's an example of using shallow DoF with front standard swing on 8x10.
>>4466351The gradiation of focus falloff above and below the eyes on the mask is clearly not real too
>>4466351Is it a chunk of background or is it fake grain THOUGH?>>4466373You know what American culture is really about
I want to film a Timelapse of a plane trail, contrail, chemtrail, whatever it may be. Just to show that they are turning clear sunny days, into a haze. Not quite overcast but a light haze enough to cover the entire sky. I have witnessed trails starting small; as you would see coming from the plane, and slowly grow and grow. They don’t disappear; just getting wider and wider until it all blends into one big hazy sky.I’m going to assume wide angle is the best lens.As for location is the top of mountain going to be my best bet? W
>>4465755Look up operation sea spray also. A little different, but still extremely cringe for the us govt to do.
>>4465664ME HEREWell it could be anything and it certainly isnt healthy. Point is it ruins nice clear days... my friend is convinced anything from planes can make a clear day hazy. so the point is to show they can
>>4465756>>4466158Aircraft exhaust is already a cloud seeding technique whether intended or not. If a jet flies at high altitudes, it creates new cirrus clouds. Every single time. There is no conspiracy needed. It's basic meteorology. The people planning flight paths might know this and care, or some combination of know/dont know/care/dont care. Cirrus clouds trap heat.
>>4466158Almost everyday...
>>4465749>what you are seeing is burnt avgas mixed with condensationAnon, jets don't use avgas. They use something very similar to kerosin called simply TS-1.
Any last words?
>>4463104Post your best photo and worst photo
OP all of you suspicions are right. Photography is greatest art medium but there is no money in it. I would suggest you to slide into film or painting. In both of these fields you can have a career and recognition for your work. I know utterly dog shit painters who live through by exhibiting their artwork. In comparison I know many good photographers stuck in dead end jobs and living in poverty. Irony is that they don't even get their share of recognition. You can try your hand at fashion/editorial type shit. Or do wedding photography. But these art mediums are not fulfilling and leave you with blue balls.
B A S E DASEDYou should kill yourself too.
>>4463104Photography is dead thanks to digital cameras and the internet. The era before internet and fully mechanical film slr's was the golden age of photography. The digital age is by far the worst age to live in. We have to go back to an analog world.
>>4466204Film and analog printing methods are even more special now that less people are using them.
