Please show me an image that was only possible with a prime and not a zoom because of this pop you speak of.
Oh wait. 40mm you say. Ah you're a streetfag. Your opinion means nothing.

>inb4 weight and size
The difference of 200g too much for you?
>inb4 biggr aperture
Bokeh whoring is a skill issue
>inb4 low light
The ONE time a prime makes sense outside of controlled conditions, and you've still got to grasp the fact that your composition is going to suffer just in order to not have a crushed subject.

I just swapped from a capture clip to a cotton carrier skout. Never looking back. Waaaay comfier with anything heavier than 500g and I can remove the camera one handed. I like its positioning better. It's less secure which makes the safety clip necessary, but I can live with that. I'd rather use a strap with my backpack than the capture clip, I just don't have a light enough setup and many of my backpack straps don't fit the clip well (my smallest pack BARELY works and it's a huge pain to clamp it on).

there are several ways to do highlight recovery, I never had an issue getting highlight detail back
use either tone equalizer or color balance rgb and use the brilliance grading
you can use masks to only affect the sky or the upper luninance ranges, if needed
you could also just make a 2nd exposure module, then make a mask for the highlight areas

Music is also not merit based. All of pop stars are industry plants. That doesn't mean shit. Art music still exists. Then there are clever pop stars like Charli XCX who find ways to penetrate into mainstream.

If you do good work and you know your audience then you will gather attention. An artist has to be sharp minded. Knowing how to market yourself is a key skill of being an artist. This lone wolf starving hermit artist is literal fiction. Nobody is coming to publish you. At. first you gotta make moves, network and market yourself.

>>4466141

There is no such site for photobooks. Distribution of music is totally different from photography. Still new hotshot bands like Black Midi were signed with labels.

On bandcamp at least you can present your music in a dignified manner where you get your own page for an album and you can stylize the presentation of page and present everything in a structured manner.

The majority of people who get published because they are good started out as self published artists.

Going to a publisher first and succeeding is a strong nepotism/cocksucking/sellout/politically favorable trash indicator.

Any love for the Game Boy Camera and printer here?
Sure nowadays even the chinkest of cameras and printers may be better with printing via phone bigger and clearer photos but there's a certain charm and fun in doing with with a Game Boy of all things.

However, at the end of it all, I am left with a bunch of nice, edited photos, and they just sit unseen on my hard drive forever. >>
>>4466355
Yeah I kept hitting it and twisting the lower ring on the same dial expecting it to be like a PASM dial, instead turns out you have to press it and the rear right scroll wheel next to the AF button. It was kinda annoying. Too many fucking buttons. The D780 I picked up was a lot more intuitive/easier to use. Pic related to see what I mean. I was pressing hold and twisting the ring on the same dial expecting that to change modes

AF also wasn't working when I half pressed the shutter only if I pressed the AF button but that could've been some retard reprogramming it while it was on display.

The shot is really great and i was wondering if there was a specific studio that makes these kinds of photos? I was thinking of Harcourt in Paris, but no online confirmation that Tyler was photographied there.

Also which camera/gear can produce this kind of quality?

It looks fake because it would be impossible to use camera movements to get an oval shaped focal plane that is only on his eyes like that.

Definitely not. You can only change the angle of the focal plane. You cant shorten it or change the overall shape. It will always carry through the entirety of the image. Perspective shift wouldn't achieve something like that either. Falloff is also too sharp.

Here's an example of using shallow DoF with front standard swing on 8x10.

The gradiation of focus falloff above and below the eyes on the mask is clearly not real too

I want to film a Timelapse of a plane trail, contrail, chemtrail, whatever it may be. Just to show that they are turning clear sunny days, into a haze. Not quite overcast but a light haze enough to cover the entire sky.
I have witnessed trails starting small; as you would see coming from the plane, and slowly grow and grow. They don’t disappear; just getting wider and wider until it all blends into one big hazy sky.
I’m going to assume wide angle is the best lens.
As for location is the top of mountain going to be my best bet?

Aircraft exhaust is already a cloud seeding technique whether intended or not. If a jet flies at high altitudes, it creates new cirrus clouds. Every single time. There is no conspiracy needed. It's basic meteorology.

The people planning flight paths might know this and care, or some combination of know/dont know/care/dont care. Cirrus clouds trap heat.

OP all of you suspicions are right. Photography is greatest art medium but there is no money in it. I would suggest you to slide into film or painting. In both of these fields you can have a career and recognition for your work.

I know utterly dog shit painters who live through by exhibiting their artwork. In comparison I know many good photographers stuck in dead end jobs and living in poverty. Irony is that they don't even get their share of recognition.

You can try your hand at fashion/editorial type shit. Or do wedding photography. But these art mediums are not fulfilling and leave you with blue balls.

Closed cell PE foam? It's relatively cheap and not prone to turn into sticky mush.
Get a sheet of of foam to glue inside of cover and a block of foam which fills rest of the case. Arrange everything you want to store on block and trace and cut out shapes deep enough items will be flush with foam block.
>>
>>4466084
I'd go with some felt or flocking personally. I've done something similar with a hard-drive case in the past and it's doable just make sure if you get the self-adhesive stuff that it's heavy duty or "jewelry grade" or whatever the fuck. Flocking alone would not provide much in the way of cushioning but you could fill it out with a lining for foam first.
>>
>>4466183
I use Topaz Photo + Video, good for enlarging and NR, the face reconstruction can be nice too
I don't use it as much as I thought I would, but it has been nice to have
I can run some examples through it if you have any to post
Video I pretty much just use for upscaling old videos, don't really use it for any actual video work I do.
