As long as I'm not doing it in a manner that will get myself into a dangerous situation (think vehicle/pedestrian deviation, runway incursion, or similar), I'm respecting airline privacy (ie I'm not exposing something that can get them sued or they're trying to keep undercover), I'm not doing it during active work duties (ie runway sweeps, aircraft escorts), and I'm not making money off it (code of ethics) it's okay.

We're on call and have a lot of downtime. Its one of those jobs where you have 2-3 hours of physical work in a 8 hour day. Some days are busier than others, some days are quiet. As long as we're available and able to respond to anything that happens on the airfield it's fine, not different than spending the time on a phone browsing 4chan.
