Since we went a little crazy last time our goal this time is to come back to someone more fundamental to the History of Photography.

Henri Cartier-Bresson, born in 1908 in Chanteloup-en-Brie, France, is considered one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century and a pioneer of modern photojournalism. Originally trained as a painter, he turned to photography in the 1930s after being inspired by the work of Hungarian photographer Martin Munkácsi.
His eye for composition and timing, combined with his natural curiosity, helped him capture the world in an elegant yet spontaneous way. Cartier-Bresson co-founded the Magnum Photos agency in 1947, shaping documentary photography for generations.

Cartier-Bresson is best known for his concept of the "decisive moment," a term he coined to describe the precise instant in which a photographer captures an image that perfectly expresses the essence of the scene.
He believed in capturing life as it unfolded, without staging or manipulating his subjects. His work often displays a balance of geometry, light, and emotion, and he insisted on using a small camera with a 50mm lens to remain discreet while photographing.

Cartier-Bresson's art lies in his candid street photography, where he captured unposed, everyday scenes that revealed deeper truths about humanity. His black-and-white images are timeless, filled with a sense of immediacy, humor, and empathy. He often photographed in cities, markets, and public spaces, finding beauty in the ordinary.

Though Cartier-Bresson is primarily known as a photographer, his influence extends beyond photography into art and philosophy.
His early training in painting helped him develop a keen sense of composition, while his ideas on the decisive moment influenced not just photographers but filmmakers and artists as well. His approach, which emphasized instinct and intuition, encouraged photographers to be patient and wait for that perfect instant when all elements align.

I imagine Bresson would be shooting a mft camera in 2024.
>>
>>4371264
>His philosophy of capturing life as it happens
>most famous works were staged
What did he mean by this?
>>
>>4371307
Bresson would be buying the newest auto-everything sony or just using his phone because he notoriously did not give a shit about technical camera skills and wanted it to be a seamless experience so he could just think about composition.

He gave so few shits it took him a whole roll to take a photo of his friend riding a bike.

Mccurry staged or staged as in waiting for something to happen and then taking the picture?
>>
>>4371264
>His philosophy of capturing life as it happens
Yet staged majority of photos and spend his time in lavish places paid by friends and agency.
He's the antithesis of what his written philosophy states.
>Magnum Photos
Yid-filled since its inception, a propaganda agency if we see their very first works.

Are mft cameras the official camera of the semites?
