Yes, true. While the noise itself is pretty noticeable, I don't think it makes any of photos unusable and is actually possible to fix in post. AI denoise doesn't work too well in this case and is hell-bent on making the image soapy, but I'm working on developing my own noise reduction presets for this camera.

Thats lightroom’s usual grain rendering. Very sharp noise with total chroma death. It kills some fine colored details and dulls the colors pretty badly tho. Some people prefer capture one’s NR for detail and color preservation but chroma blotches become permanent above 6400 with it unless you pre-denoise in another program or the moire reduction slider and a mask will work on them.

I fiddled around with LR settings and I think I found the sweet spot. The image looks pretty decent right now and is completely usable, unless you're pixel peeping. And it seems like saving a few presets for different ISOs is so much faster than AI denoising.

I bought it well-knowing its upsides and downsides and I knew that sort of poor ISO performance was one of flaws. Now I'm trying to assess how to work with it, but I guess you cannot do that without some retard bringing up pointless and stupid brand wars.

Look at a d800 with a sigma art 35mm f1.4 and then look at an a7iv with a 35mm f1.4 gm. Look at a 5ds r with a tamron 85mm f1.8 and then a z7ii with a nikkor 85mm f1.8 s. An a7c packs even better. Shit matters if you fly carryon only and generally travel further than a dog walk with stuff other than a camera. The more accurate low light viewfinding without assists and flippy screens are also pretty cool.

Its a sports camera homo. An APSC noise with full frame bokeh sports camera. Id say just buy an r7 but the r7 is as noisy as m43. Canon is killing themselves by ignoring SNR when its the primary selling point of bigger cameras.

Really only good if you wanted the pro features of a cope sensor, but yes it's otherwise just an R10 with IBIS and dual card slots with a pixel pitch and SNR of a 20MP M43 camera. Having such a pixel dense sensor is going to put major stress on your lens sharpness.

NX studio is free and does all the basic and essential stuff to free you from auto meterings and auto white balances whims. Use capture one, topaz, adobe etc for dramatic changes but you dont need them if “AI subject and background masking” sounds useful to you.

Zinstax are for the RZ and Binstax for the RB but there isn't anything adapted on the market yet for Polaroid backs. Took me about 3 months on the waiting list to get mine. Was worth the wait. I have the LoFi instax back as well but it doesn't have a dark slide and is nowhere near as good.

eh its not so bad, I used to take it for work a few days a week (though usually just out east, rarely to go up to lancaster). it actually kinda kicks ass that it goes all the way to oceanside since the surfliner is more expensive and frankly less reliable.

I should really hop on the train for some daytrips more often when I have the chance since, it'd be a good way to shake up my photography
