Why isn't China aiding Iran economically rn? Like I understand that China prefers to take a neutral stance in international politics, and that they actually have pretty good relations with the GCC countries and Turkey (as well as Israel to a lesser extent), but surely even they can see the writing on the wall yea? For every American military asset that's in the middle east countering Iran, there's one less in the Pacific ready to strike China in the event of a full blown war. If the islamic republic were to fall, even if China cozied up to the new government and kept them in the belt and road initiative, the lack of an Iranian threat would make it easier for America to refocus its military assets towards Taiwan due to the lack of an immediate adversary in the middle east. I mean it's not even like China has to make a huge commitment or anything either, literally all that needs to be done is delivering them an emergency economic aid package or emergency services in the form of shit they're in desperate need of rn like water conservation tech or whatever, that way Iran could partially restructure its economy without needing to worry as much about sanctions. Just feels like a dumb move on China's part tbqh.
