It feels like our ancestors at least had something to aim for and some sense of aspiration, but now there is essentially nothing. I’m severely depressed and feel dead inside, and although I was spiritual a few years ago that feeling is completely gone. I have health problems, I’m waiting for trial after being suspected of a crime, I have no friends and never had a girlfriend, and I’ve hated my parents for twenty years. I feel like I’ve burned every bridge to life and been reduced to an empty shell, constantly exhausted, angry, nervous, and sad, with no motivation or satisfaction in anything, no desire for relationships, and looking like shit as a result. I keep wondering whether it’s the world or just me, what the real cure for depression actually is, and whether there’s any honest solution left that isn’t shallow self-help nonsense.
