It's not even about being fans of Toga and Haru, it's about the fact that they had a chance to elevate someone from that class and they just decided to let that opportunity slip. They were both getting over after they had a really good match with 121 (and Haru especially after winning the Next Gen tournament) and telling the story of them winning the tag league and beating Itoh and Miyu at GP after coming close the last time would have been dimes and cemented them as credible upper carders. If Shino and HIMAWARI were in that position and were beaten by Toga and Haru tonight I would still think it's fucking stupid. I know that TJPW doesn't operate on the rails of traditional pro wrestling booking and storytelling, and they're not dead or anything because of this, but that potential storyline is pro wrestling 101. At the very least I would have put them in the finals. Maybe have them go over Max (and Pom) in the semi-finals to keep a bit of their momentum going.
