I did something at work I almost never do in any context. I started two conversations out of the blue, directly, speaking to two different people. My intention was to emulate extraverted sensation in interacting with the world, so my focus was on experiencing the other person, not just hearing words they had to say if that makes sense; for example I made a post I think yesterday about how fun eye contact with the opposite sex is, so that was one thing I wanted to get and I did. It may not seem like much but it is. Part of the reason I did this is because the book I recommend, The Freedom Model For Addictions, is all about *belief.* I didn't believe I could really start conversations, I believed "I never know what to say," I believed that if there wasn't a logical reason to speak to someone I could think of then I shouldn't. But replacing my Ti style of interacting with the world briefly with an Se style (If you think about it, the function-attitudes are basically entirely different life philosophies if they are in the superior position) just made my last day at work really... fun. It just sounds so silly--because it is--but our beliefs hold us back and we just... let them. It's really important to challenge our most strongly held beliefs, especially if they could be holding us back. I really feel like I could just go Se mode and speak to anyone. You have to understand the extraverted sensor's mindset. It's basically, "girls just wanna have fun." If you watch ESxPs, they just do whatever is fun, they are so focused on having fun. It's OK to try to have fun.And for a long time I've felt honestly a bit guilty if I appreciate a woman for being a woman but I really challenged that and I let myself enjoy the company of the ladies, nothing weird. If I like talking to women more than I like talking to men, what's wrong with that? (The yogis say it's wrong D:) That's normal for a heterosexual man.
