I can tolerate at least. Problem with biting off too much responsibility is you have to make sure you keep up with it. I'm taking breaks like now at least
>oh yes
not quite the fish themselves yet, sadly they're last. Need to do the heater, pumps, light, etc.. Then get them
>gonna buy any?
probably soon, but trying to do research first. If i'm gonna pushing around a board at high speeds over an asphalt lot i want to make sure I think through what I need to get first, but think i'll have an order ready soon. Finally gonna earn the right to wear my vans lol

I slept sixteen hours, woke up and went out to get a hamburger and then came home and slept another eight hours. Taking it easy. Feeling pretty decent still. Phenomena are still quite increased but aren't threatening or frightening.
What is everyone up to today? I'm hoping to play a new videogame I got, it has a lot of accessibility features so I've been able to play a few hours here and there.

hey guys. hyped for stalker 2 release.

every now and then I catch myself thinking and wishing how life would be if we got back together. but I have to stop myself immediately because it would never happen and its a bad move to do that anyway. still, it hurts so much. to my surprise I still haven't started cutting

Yeah! I also use a light therapy lamp during the fall and winter for an hour or so when I wake up and it helps me wake up a lot more.
>working a lot, maybe shopping, visiting family soon too
Hope work hasn't been too stressful. What're you shopping for? Just errand stuff or anything special? I hope visiting family is a good thing for you and you enjoy it when you visit. Do they live far? I know a lot of people travel during the holidays to see their families.
>what game?
I pirated Dragon Age Veilguard. I enjoyed the other entries in the series, and I'm liking it so far. I used to be able to play on the hardest difficulties, but my schizophrenia symptoms make it pretty hard to play games. Games are a really huge sensory experience and I already experience so much more stimuli than your average person, so getting my brain to work properly in conjunction with hand movements isn't an automatic process like it used to be. The game itself is getting review bombed pretty fucking hard which is kind of funny to me.

never tried these but always they look good and like something I'd enjoy
>wishing how life would be if we got back together. but I have to stop myself immediately
honestly, if things went off because of clash of personalities, very likely would end falling into the same again anyway for that alone, even if it made things good again for a bit
>still haven't started cutting
that's good and glad you're keeping off

>>79477872
>light therapy lamp during the fall and winter for an hour
sounds pretty useful since waking up in darkness kinda throws me off a bit too
> What're you shopping for?
ended up buying a skateboard for one thing. Gonna get some more pieces i need for my fish tank. Did all my boring shopping the other day, so fun hobby stuff now xD
>Do they live far?
nah I'm about 12 minutes away. I'm not really close to my parents, but get along with my brother who lives with them still, so usually over just for that.
>Dragon Age Veilguard. I enjoyed the other entries in the series
ah I loved dragon age as well, but never managed to beat Inquisition (I started during a low period of my life but meant to go back for that one)
>brain to work properly in conjunction with hand movements isn't an automatic process like it used to be.
>brain to work properly in conjunction with hand movements isn't an automatic process like it used to be.
makes sense and sorry to hear it's that difficult, but also really pretty cool that it's actually something you can play thanks to that and hope you enjoy
> getting review bombed pretty fucking hard
it is kinda crazy yeah and know most probably don't play the game anyway. I think I've seen some scenes that were a bit jarring and unusual (to the point I think it's a bit much), but I don't think it's enough to make me pass on playing it eventually as someone who's enjoyed the franchise as a whole
>>
>>79478647
>skateboard
OH! I think I saw you post saying you want to take up skateboarding. Fucking go for it! What kind of fish do you have? I used to have julii corydoras and zebra danios as a kid, with some aquatic plants and stuff. I did an aquascape, if you know what that is.
>never managed to beat inquisition
DAI was really good, I do adore the fuck out of the game, but the real ending is the expansion and that type of game design can suck my left nut. I do not agree with that decision.
>most probably won't play the game anyway
Sometimes I feel like people who get really butthurt over anything at all just don't get out much or talk to people with different viewpoints very often.
>>
>>79478605
>you need rest sometimes
i hear you on that. I've been pushing too much lately and really took it's toll on me, so I'm trying to slow down a bit and not go so hard.
>do fish need a lot if stuff?
yeah, even more for salt water ones since you need specific lighting for coral and equipment to make sure the water readings are what they need to be for salt and certain organic matter readings. It's very involved, which is why salt tanks are as difficult as they are.
>can do research and stuff
i did and ended up buying a board. Basically went good quality and sturdy, but not so over the top for a started set since I could break my leg first day and give up for good after that, but really determined to at least give it a try as best I can

ugh. I missed my medicine and tried to take double the dose to make up for it. Now my stomach is on fire. It hurts very bad.
>>79476477
This is very cool
>>
>>79478941
Generally don't double your medication dose to make up for a missed dose, this can be very dangerous depending on the medication. I'm glad it only caused an upset tummy. If you miss a dose, just take your next one at the regular time. Never double up because of a missed dose you could get very ill.
Your prescriber should have told you this, I'm frustrated that they didn't, that's bad medical practice.
>>
>>79478750
>Fucking go for it!
I figured I wanted to so long, might as well go for it. Not too old, but don't want wait much longer to get into it
> What kind of fish do you have?
none currently, but I want to do a salt tank/reef tank (mostly because I got really interested in corals a while back). Plan is for a clownfish pair, some watchman gobies, six line wrasse, and some cleaner shrimp (though they aren't really fish I know)
> julii corydoras and zebra danios as a kid
knew of zebrafish but never heard of the other and they look really cool. I only had a goldfish (carnival prize fish that lived super old lol) and kissing gourami, but really like fish, just been years
>DAI was really good
I think I only got past the early part with the mage/templar segment and stopped after that, but enjoyed what I did play. Think only gripe i had were some side quests felt a bit MMOish, but that was a bioware issue since mass effect 3 at least...(DA2 has some too I feel, but not as bad). Also none of the companions at that point had grown on me yet, but just needed more time.
>the real ending is the expansion
agreed. I love expansions, don't get me wrong (think origins did them quite well and expanded without making anything essential per say) but feel things have gotten carried away recent years.
>who get really butthurt
Think the problem is a number of people who aren't even interested in the game itself get involved when these review bombings happen, so legitimate comments get lost since they're associated with the ones who just want to bash something. That's the most unfortunate part of this whole thing in my opinion
>>
>>79478753
>even more for salt water
hmm yeah I guess that depends on the type of fish
What fishes do you think you'll get?

hit styro for the first time...ever last night
dw i used steri-strips to close it up and im keeping an eye on it
but im worried next time i cut im gonna try and make every slice a styro cut
i only do cat scratches but something about that styro cut felt...different?
like not pain-wise but it felt good so good that i physically shivered when i did it
idk i thought i was supposed to be getting better after i got on antidepressants and in a way i guess i have? i mean im not cutting to cope with my anxiety anymore but im still cutting just because i like doing it and in that regard i feel like im worse off then before
i mean im cutting like multiple times a day for literally whatever reason
just woke up? cut
bored? cut
watching a show? cut
like wtf is wrong with me lmao
>>
coming in quickly to just say :(
i dont even know how i could put what im feeling into words
maybe with a different language i could, maybe with a conlang that focus on such things or maybe tokipona that forces you to be creative
my poor lexicon in both greek english and partly russian does NOT allow for words to be expressed thoroughly enough
maybe i just need a longer rest time as 4 days werent enough, i think eternity sounds much better

i hope everyone else other than me is alright though
i wish i could get you all a nice ice cream on a hot summer day

P.S. box cutters fucking suck, im scarred of putting too much pressure

>>79480328
also hi yuanon, if it isnt much trouble to you, could you tell me the meaning of the word nabuschwada? first and last "a" have umlaut on them
google translate says its german but the translation is really off
i saw it spray painted on the wall a while ago in the phrase "du meinsch du bisch barg(umlaut) aber mir si nabuschwada"
sorry to bother you but i dont know anyone else that knows german
i know only people that are learning the language

hey sis!

>:(
:<

>my poor lexicon in both greek english and partly russian does NOT allow for words to be expressed thoroughly enough
i think you're expressing yourself really eloquently, but i know what you mean. sometimes it just feels like you're missing certain phrases to tell what you feel.

>could you tell me the meaning of the word nabuschwada
no clue, honestly. my google doesn't even recognize it as word with any meaning.

>i saw it spray painted on the wall a while ago in the phrase "du meinsch du bisch barg(umlaut) aber mir si nabuschwada"
ugh... i see. seems to be a dialect. i'd say southern german, austrian or maybe even swiss. the "sch" at the end is how you'd speak, but not how you'd write it. "du meinsch" means "you think" but it's written like "you thinksh".

>"du meinsch du bisch barg(umlaut) aber mir si nabuschwada"
you think you are "baerg", but we are "naebuschwadae". (you can write the umlaut as vowel+e)

sorry i can't help you, but a lot of german dialects are basically completely different languages and nearly incomprehensible when you don't grow up around them. i only speak standard german and the bastardized standard german spoken in the western parts. ^^' on top of that i don't know if you transcribed everything correctly. sometimes graffiti can be a bit stylized. might also just be a name for something. again, sorry.

>>79481213
>there is so much to express that it became unexpressable
not something i can relate to, honestly. i guess i just don't have much to say. ^^' at least you have an excuse to deepen your knowlwdge of those languages. maybe get some native literature that deals with what you want to express? that could help.

>that at least in greek most likely exist cause we are retarded like that
lots of languages have words to describe concepts that are only important to those speaking the language. just how it is. and if you're feeling like you're missing out on you own, get a thesaurus. i'm constantly checking the meaning of stuff while writing here. that definitely helps a lot.

>the sch seemed weird to me too
it is while written, but it's very common to pronounce the "st" in words as "scht".

>shame that those two are unknown
yeah. the only thing i found was "baerg" as a form of "berg", meaning mountain, but that doesn't make much sense. second word... nothing. could be a name, an abbreviation, some sort of slang. beats me.

its alright thanks for the help anyway
anytime, friend. i had fun looking into it.

>i didnt know this about german dialects
it's an odd but interesting topic. everyone speaks standard german to a degree, but some regions also have a very high population of people who speak the local dialects and those can range from exchanging some letters or mixing up the grammar to completely different languages. i'm close to the dutch border and there's a region here where people speak what's basically a mix between dutch and german and probably very hard to understand on both sides of the border.

>it was like regular graffiti that some guy just took a can of spray paint and decided to write on a large canvas
weird. well, he wanted to let some people know something, i guess.

i think i got it. i had to repeat the word in my mind a bit, but think "naebuschwadae" is "nebelschwade", meaning "waft of mist". i just checked and "naebu" means "mist" in bernese german, a dialect being spoken in switzerland.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernese_German

so i think it says: "you think yourself a mountain, but we are wafts of mist."

not exactly sure what it's supposed to mean, but at least it paints some sort of picture. though i feel like i'm missing a lot of cultural context here. still, kinda proud of myself for that one. :>

I should have done that a long time ago, i still want too but im a bit too busy to do so
>lots of languages have words to describe concepts that are only important to those speaking the language
Yeah true, it says a lot about tjose people, what they place importance on enough to have its own word
Ancient greek specifically is really poetic and most likely has the words i need, but they are most likely not in use, meaning nobody would understand them
(Including me because i dont know ancient greek the way i should)
Also thesaurus means treasure in greek so i think im missing what you are trying to say

If you find a change of lighting really effects your mood, look into light therapy lamps and the research around them. I did that years ago to buy my lamp, I picked it because it had an identical profile to the lights used in a research study on the effects of light therapy, where the results were very encouraging.

working. i work at an independent retail store and one of our locations just shut down (like i had been predicting for months) so they're shipping all their stock to my store. it's a total pain in the ass.
>When was the last time you hurt yourself?
yesterday. broke a 6mo+ clean streak.

a combination of boredom, wanting to feel pain, wanting to feel good, and wanting to be worse. the "instant endorphins" effect is so true but it's a pain in the ass dealing with them after, even if they didn't bleed much.

>i still want too but im a bit too busy to do so
sometimes life just gets in the way. maybe you could get some cheap paperback versions of books you're interested in and keep them on you? that way you could read a page here and there if you have some downtime.

>and most likely has the words i need, but they are most likely not in use, meaning nobody would understand them
to learn language most people don't understand seems to defeat the point. even if you could express yourself the way you wanted, there'd be no difference to not having expressed yourself. tricky. well, guess you need to look for more modern words, then. ^^'

>Including me because i dont know ancient greek the way i should
why should you know it?

>so i think im missing what you are trying to say
it's a fancy word for a dictionary of synonyms.

>i wonder why they pronounce the s differently than the rest
nah. it's just the way it's pronounced. like, words that start with "st" are pronounced like they start with "scht" and if you don't don't do that you're probably from the northern coast of germany, because it's a very distinct way of pronounciation typical to that area. the reason for why written and spoken language differ so much sometimes is an interesting topic, though.

>I hope it doesnt die out like many dialects already have (Especially here)
i get what you mean, but i think we all need to sacrifice some culturally unique traits and quirks in order to live together peacefully. like if you always have to make clear to everyone around you that you want to be seperated from them, down to the way you speak (and that's one of the reasons for why dialects exist to begin with), they'll get tired of you eventually.

>and not even in the region itself but also historic german regions and even in the new world
true. it's always fun to recognize german words in american english.

>i know a lot of people went to germany at the time but i also know the germans didnt really like them lol
well, you've got a point. the fact that udo juergens sang about it at all is very telling. he always was someone to point out social and environmental issues. the fact was: germany needed a bigger workforce and as politicians are, they always make decisions that favor themselves and industry at large, but ignore how the majority of people feel about these decisions, which leads to friction. sadly the resulting anger and frustration is rarely directed at the people who actually deserve it.

honestly, i dont know
its quite the nice question, i think it would still be worth it as, you do express yourself and if someone really wanst to see what you want to express he can find it out

That's a shame your bad, but that's really good you keep going :)
>it's a total pain in the ass.
Oh yeah sounds like it. That's very annoying. Hopefully it doesn't take to long.
>boredom, wanting to feel pain, wanting to feel good, and wanting to be worse.
That makes sense. I hope you feel better now, and you cleaned up everything.
>i want my family to leave me the fuck alone.
I get that. That's all I want most days. It can be really hard cause they think their doing the right thing so they don't stop, it can be very frustrating
>but if they're not even trying to relate to me on my level
Yeah if they don't, it's very annoying and doesn't get anything done, and doesn't make anyone feel better. Being left alone is a surprisingly good thing sometimes

>worst of it's over now at least. Little work to do this evening, but not too bad
that's good. hope you'll be done with it quickly. or at least that it'll be smooth sailing from here on out.

>beef rouladen
oh yeah. that's a true german classic. and definitely one of those dishes that's only right when it's prepared like at home. how did you fill them?

>Really a lot of work, but never made anything like it before and really quite satisfied with the work going into it.
yeah, that's why you don't see them as often as you used to these days. a lot of work going into them. definitely worth it, though. what sides did you have?

>now come full circle to not caring
that's the spirit. have fun! ^^

>i swear i'll wear a helmet and not attempt to kickflip over a flight of stair for at least... a month? lol
sounds... ok? i don't know how fast your progression is with these things. ^^' just take your time with the basics and you should be good.

>not bad by any means
really needed some time for myself, it seems. i'm feeling a lot calmer for some reason.

>i should really should do some cleaning
always annoying when that realization sets in, but it feels good when you're done with it.

>watch anything good?
the last episode of grand tour and the bob's burgers movie were pretty good. the battle angel alita movie is a masterclass in how not to adapt anime into live action as if we needed another one of those after that dragon ball movie and then there's arcane season 2. outstanding animation, but i think the fact they only got two seasons really hurt the writing. everything feels rushed and characters make decisions based on what the writers need them to do to facilitate the plot instead of what they'd do based on their character. it's a bit dissappointing after the high that was season 1. :/

>germany needed a bigger workforce
oh, guess the destruction left from the war left a big hole there
seems like what greeks were brought over to do, nowdays africans and asians are
how weird
i totally understand why they wouldnt like us, foreigners coming over to literally take jobs which many see as theirs for the taking, a lot being really backwards in their way of life or beliefs or whatever, we are incredibly different to u germans in many ways
my dad told me that when he was in the uk (like mid 70s and then after the mid 80s) we were really hated because of how much we were against the culture there, retaining a lot of lets just say shitty traits
long story to cover which im gaming too much rn to go into detail

>>79491817
>you do express yourself and if someone really wanst to see what you want to express he can find it out
true, but i'd argue that this might be better left to written communication, so the other person has the time to think and come back to it at their leisure. might be frustrating if the person you talk to insists on using language you have to look up all the time.

>at least for greek, a lot of words come from ancient greek, so the roots of modern words are still recognizeable even if they arent used
all words come from some root, but i concede that those might be more apparent in some languages than in others and i really don't know anything about greek, so it might be easy enough. don't know. ^^'

>i find it, and its moden continuation (katharevousa) to be incredibly interesting, yet i dont act upon this interest
you can be interested in something without knowing absolutely everything about it or investing a huge amount of time. it can be fun to just engage with it on a superficial level without delving too deep.

>or the debate if language should be kept as its written or as it is spoken
i think it's important to have a common ground and a base level of understanding, so i'd say to have a stongly rules based written standard version of the language, but also let people speak as they see fit. language is always evolving and influenced by other languages. that's something you can't avoid.

>but there is workarounds for sure
maybe. i'm just weary of the consequences if those don't work.

i'd say lol there may have been some truth to that in the past, but big corps I don't see it. I guess in part political climate at most companies that kind of behavior wouldn't be too tolerated. Still just as many psychopaths and narcists who hide beneath thinly veiled politeness. Honestly, would rather have yelling than guessing games with psychos

not sure about either of those, but hoping it's not too bad
>how did you fill them?
had some stone ground mustard, center bacon, seared onion, and some sweet gherkins(wasn't sure how these would be but everything went well together). Cooked in the sauce for like 3 hours so really quite nice flavor
> what sides did you have?
just some mashed potatoes, which perfect with the sauce. Not prepared to cook much else since this is more than i usually do and it was just me and my gf there so no need to make a full multi dish meal that needed lots of clean up after (still more than enough)
>i don't know how fast your progression is with these things.
yeah that wasn't serious but i have no idea what to expect. See myself mostly just focused on navigation and not falling of the board before doing anything too crazy. No desire to rush
>but it feels good when you're done with it.
yep, just not good when you need to stop halfway because you built up so much to do
>battle angel alita movie is a masterclass in how not to adapt anime into live action

>and chill evening plans? watching a stream?
just the usual, though i'm more focussed on the thread than the stream. guy's playing some tower defense game.

>>79492325
>oh, guess the destruction left from the war left a big hole there
true, but the american investments after the war extremely boosted german economy and it was growing at a way faster rate than it should have or could have been supported by the native population, that's why it was called the "wirtschaftwunder" (economic miracle).

>seems like what greeks were brought over to do, nowdays africans and asians are how weird
pretty much. back in the day it was mostly poles, italians, turks and greeks, now, as you say, people from africa, the middle east and sea. society is straining and it's getting worse. not sure how long it's going to last like this.

>we are incredibly different to u germans in many ways
eh. just learn the language of where you are and drink alcohol at the times people around you do and people will sing your praise, no matter where you are.

>we were really hated because of how much we were against the culture there, retaining a lot of lets just say shitty traits
i think one of the big problems was the framing of working in other countries as "guest workers" (meaning you come over, do your job and fuck off again). why would you adapt to a country you'd leave and never see again anyway? problem becomes when you stay for a few weeks that turn to months that turn to years, sometimes marrying and having children, without realizing you're not going to leave anymore, but still clining to the thought of returning "home".

>better left to written communication
oh yeah true, i didnt think of it in spoken form at all, i was thinking it as in literature and stuff
not exactly messages or posts like we do here but you get the picture
then on the other hand, in literature maybe some things are better left unsaid, with the reader interpreting their own meaning
although being able to express something in extreme detail is also nice
>might be more apparent
in greek it is painfully obvious, also thanks to the severe lack of foreign loan words we use makes understanding even new words relatively easy a lot of the time
not with english that words are ocmpletely random and even if you did know the root youd be unable to make sense
>without knowing absolutely everything
i guess you are right
makes me feel like a poser though, yknow
>common ground
well yeah, i think the best way to achieve that is through written language, as if it doesnt change then it can remain the same for thousands of years, ensuring common understanding, unforutnately spoken language will eventually degrade overtime making this a bit hard but oh well
>weary of the consequences

i dont think very long, either everyone becomes the same (impossible) or they separate (not very pretty)

wont be enough for us, way of life is really different, we make fun of germans for being workaholics and wearing sandals with socks and other things, i dont think it is meant to be mean or anything, just highlighting the differences
we are almost always late universally for some odd reason
when someone is on time we say he is english, as they were known to be always on time (once 5 o clock hits its tea time and such)
>why would you adapt
true thats a good point
not much of a reason to do so
getting married and having kids i could excuse because its not really something that you plan and its natural for love to occour anywhere you are

i'm getting tired as well, but i'd like to hear that story. good to hear the "other side" of those stories. not that i'm not part of that too. one of my grandmothers had polish roots (i think my grandfather as well, but i'm not sure) and her second husband was a guest worker from italy.

they're made for literally noone. anime fans already have the anime and if you stay true to the anime it'll still be too weird for non-anime-watchers. even worse of they try to adapt anime-humor into live action. it just doesn't translate! and don't get me started on high-school romcoms. i don't want to see mid-twenty-somethings pretending to be in high school... maybe that's a bit hypocritical coming from me, but i don't care... :[
