What's snow like? I usually hear negative things in relation to it from people.
>>79970084
Don't worry, it's all dealing with stuff outside of what you're familiar with so it can seem more complicated than it is. People seem to seize up when given unknowns like that.
>how do u remember all this stuff?
My guess is by forgetting the vast majority of my life B^). I value this data far more, if I'm honest. Childhood memories were never really that pleasant for me.

Have a creeping comb jelly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeloplana_astericola
They're part of a group of benthic comb jellies, a group that's normally planktonic. They share the proper feeding tentacles of their group but utilize them by throwing them up and out into the current. These guys also like to cling onto starfish of all things.

Will we ever find love? If someone asked me out I'd probably reject them because I've been alone for so long that changing that is risky and uncharted territory and I'm also laying in bed, hungover and taking it easy today.
>>
>>79971133
Frozen tears doesn't sound too pleasant for most, but I'd love to see it someday.
>>79971146
It'd depend on the person for me. If I really like them then I wouldn't reject them, I'd be pretty happy. Even if it's a big change and all.

An infectious fungus for everyone as a gift while I go to bed. It makes these odd flowers from the relatives of blueberry plants it infects. I figure it forms those pseudoflowers to help distribute the spores thanks to confused bees or flies. They do form spore structures, so it would make sense.

It's cold and wet and a hindrance really. I would really prefer if I could cycle to college but I can't now due 2 snow
>Don't worry, it's all dealing with stuff outside of what you're familiar with so it can seem more complicated than it is. People seem to seize up when given unknowns like that.
it's not the complexity, it's the amount of info. I could never recall that much info on any subject!
>My guess is by forgetting the vast majority of my life B^). I value this data far more, if I'm honest. Childhood memories were never really that pleasant for me.

Taking it so easy that I wake up at midnight

>>79970044
It's snowing at home but it's so hot here that I had to take my hoodie off when I left the house today.

>>79971146
I like solitude so much that I'd probably hate living with another person. I'm so accustomed to being alone now that adding another person to my life would just be a huge stressor. Can't take it easy like that.
>>
>>79971203
Ahh hopefully one day anon, you seem nice you're the one with the salamanders rights?

Drinking alone and playing vidya, I try not to since I'm an alchy.. super hungover it's not worth it honestly agh.
>>79971717
Yah I feel the exact same, even thinking about it is stressful. Idunno people seem so happy in relationships for the most part. Personally, I think buying a bunch of cats is a better alternative
>>
>>79971773
I think I could just about manage a dog now. They're not low-maintenance, but they're so much less stressful than another person, with the bonus that they love you unconditionally.
Cats are pretty good too. My grandmother loved hers.

>Will we ever find love?
The prospect of living 50more years completely lonely makes me want to kill myself and I'm "just" almost 26yo.
>If someone asked me out I'd probably reject them because I've been alone for so long that changing that is risky and uncharted territory
Isn't it the same for us all anyway? Especially at this day.
>>
>>79971836
A dog would be amazing ngl, I used to be prejudiced against them cos I grew up around my grams shitty, mean dogs but I've since come around. The unconditional love aspect is amazing, I just prefer cats predesposed independence I suppose, plus they purr

>>
>>79973307
>The prospect of living 50more years completely lonely makes me want to kill myself and I'm "just" almost 26yo.
Sometimes this bothers me, but I have to reflect on whether or not I actually want company. Hugs would be nice, yes, but you have to deal with everything that comes with them, and I think that would just do the opposite of making me happy.
Of course, that assumes we're quite similar. If it's tearing you up, you probably shouldn't try to rationalise it like that.

>>79973715
>I've since come around. The unconditional love aspect is amazing
Until I my family got one I had no idea how much joy they could bring.
>I just prefer cats predesposed independence I suppose
That's definitely a plus. They're a lot less needy.
>plus they purr
My dog kind of did that. When she was happy she'd make an "mmmmm" sound, I think because she had a messed up nose.

The post office to pick up some boxes. Then I'm mailing them off tomorrow.
I went to the main post office so I did a tiny amount of exploring near Central after getting lost a few times trying to find the shop entrance.
The station is really busy and I must have seen a tens of thousands of people in the space ~10 minutes, and about yuppie in the country as I was walking to the post office. One of the few times I've overheard an English conversation.
Also there's a little museum at the post office with some pre-handover stuff.

I feel it's just being jaded, what I meant is what you describe is something everyone feels about relationships or so I guess. In the sense that not everyone is immediately adjusted to relationships, it's something we learn.
>>79974046
>Hugs would be nice, yes, but you have to deal with everything that comes with them, and I think that would just do the opposite of making me happy.
Subjectivity aside, relationships are actually messy and especially these years people want the perfect ones. They want people already healed, already capable of dealing with stuff and all... They don't want to grow together, which I think is how you bond with your partner.
>If it's tearing you up, you probably shouldn't try to rationalise it like that.
That's just impossible, my nature is overthinking.

She passed away on Christmas eve. It all happened very suddenly and I was heartbroken since I was going to fly home and see her in in a few weeks.

I would advocate that all robots get a pet if they have the means and the capability to look after one. They'll be there for you in your darkest moments and they won't judge you. Once I move to my next apartment I'll try and get my own dog.

lurking again and taking it easy
today an angry spirit came around my place and slammed doors around, also threw an empty cracker bag on me that was sitting on top of my desk
since i was still half awake, i grabbed them by the neck and slammed them on the floor, saying "don't do that shit" and they fled through the window, i think
once i opened my eyes, things calmed down, no more doors being slammed, no more things falling on me
what a weird moment

>my brain is built different. When trying 2 learn shit i look 4 laws and principles that could help me member shit better. Logical thinking helps with that, but it doesn't help with learning pure data.
We're kind of alike in that, on my part I remember animals based on their niches(the function they play in an ecosystem) and their taxonomic relationship(the changes they've had compared to their ancestral form). That helps a lot.
>I even was able 2 snatch a question from a college during an exam that way
Very nice B^). You know if you became more familiar with microbes you could put that organic chemistry knowledge to good use. There are even livestreams of people editting DNA on YouTube for things like yeast to make various things, or editting tomatoes to make them spicy. Here's one such livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-638xx7XeI

The bottleneck is buying the supplies and trying to get the genes to take in their new home. That takes a bit of time and effort, but using well-known procedures from various papers will make things work most of the time(from what I've heard, it sometimes can just go "fuck you" and not work at all for no discernable reason).
>as for history, i know way too little than I would like to. I remember certain important dates, but u could count them on 2 hands probably.
I forget dates all of the time, which is funny since I'm a diagnosed sperg. I tend to just remember principles and some events that changed the course of a civilization. Also, it helps to view civilizations in the context of human evolution too. Civilizations have this tendency to make people much smarter at first(when conditions are harsher) and then dumber(as conditions get very easy and things are bountiful).

Very good tastes there, if I may be so biased B^).

Mayflies come from a very early branch in the insect family tree and at least some of them possess the odd ability to molt after they've formed wings to reform new wings. I want their secrets for pet moths and butterflies that could live in their adult forms and regenerate their wings.

Also they're related to dragonflies and similarly have an aquatic stage of life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayfly

I won't judge you for how odd or supernatural it is, don't worry. Sadly, I lack any occult knowledge to help set you at ease. I can however give you a cute cat video. Also I forget if gin or if some other booze was meant to help ward off "bad spirits" or if the spirits part of booze was related to something else. It's been a long time. Gin isn't that pleasant either though.

Well, at the very least you should make sure that you're healthy if anything bad happens. A lot of people on this board don't get enough B vitamins(you get them from animal products largely but nutritional yeast is rich in them too) or vitamin D. Not getting enough of those vitamins will make you weaker, have less energy and be more prone to depression. Gotta be your best just in case bad stuff happens.

Zinc is also vital too. Have a tiny greenhouse frog. This one is a baby but they don't get much bigger than that.

worse, he's in bad company
all the people he ever brings here have a sound of "criminals" to them, and i'm quite sure one of them is his weed dealer

if i'm being completely honest with you... the most likely future i see is this house becoming abandoned once one of my relatives passes away (they're mother and son and i'm quite sure the son will want to move the fuck away once she's gone)
and when that happens, his situation will deteriorate rapidly until he either dies of some health condition from smoking like a locomotive, or he'll commit suicide
i frankly don't see a good future ahead of him, only disasters and death, unless he's willing to walk through a mile of broken glass to try and salvage what little is left of his life

100%, it is a great and fun game and Slay the Spire 2 was announced a few days ago at the Game Awards. I don't like card games in general but Slay the Spire and Inscryption are awesome fun games, Inscryption in particular is very unique because it is a horror, roguelike card game.

Slay the Spire is a somewhat hard roguelike card game, which means you play card to defeat enemies and if you lose you have to restart the game all over. You can make some crazy combinations with the cards even being able to do infinite damage, it is crazy fun, hope you enjoy.

Well, if he's taking tons of drugs then I doubt he'll want to do anything too difficult. People grow dependent on those substances too. The brain adjusts in response to whatever substances we try to affect it with so that it can reach a healthy balance. This is why alcoholics and have some really gnarly withdrawal symptoms, like seizures. Alcohol, being a depressant, makes the brain adapt to try and reach its desired equilibrium and if you suddenly take the weight off of one side of the scale then it'll fling down the other side. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_withdrawal_syndrome
>>79977061
I'll have to look into Inscryption later too then. I might grab Slay the Spire later tonight, I need a new thing to grind out since I've run out of stuff to look into )^:. Also, I do love my roguelikes, I'm very familiar with them. RoR2 is one of my favorites.

Also, this is the spotted salamander. Its egg and tadpole stage of life makes use of endosymbiotic algae who photosynthesize and feed them. It seems that the adults may retain the algae and give them to their young, meaning that these little guys could be on the road to developing really well adapted photosynthetic endosymbionts that might even be useful in adulthood(if the conditions to allow them to do such occur). I want them, very badly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotted_salamander
>"the only known example of vertebrate cells hosting an endosymbiont microbe (unless mitochondria are considered)."
Also the endosymbiont in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorococcum_amblystomatis
>"This symbiosis between C. amblystomatis and the salamander may exist beyond the oocyte and early embryonic stage. Chlorophyll autofluorescence observation and ribosomal DNA analysis suggest that this algal species has invaded embryonic salamander tissues and cells during development and may even be transmitted to the next generation."
I would make solar salamanders if I had the chance to.

>Ya i understand and prehistoric animals are just so fucking cool I've always loved them. Used to always imagine how society would work if dinosaurs existed lmaoo
They've actually found some of the genes necessary to revert birds to be more like their ancestors B^). Pic related is from one embryological study(iirc) that found a gene that could stop birds from developing their beaks and instead developing a more dinosaurian snout, with their closest living relatives(the crocodilians) being compared to them. There was another gene for giving back their teeth too iirc, but the main hurdles left were giving them back their tail(which is necessary for them to get to massive sizes like T-rex) and fixing their arms to give them claws and such. The Hoatzin though does have claws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoatzin

House cats are really cute. Also if you ever do end up as a richfag, you could go for cheetahs too B^). Cheetahs are very cute and can be very relaxed around people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJNyXjbmQyg

There may be some possibility for hybridizing cheetahs and house cats too. I know I've talked about it on /an/ before, but they're not too distantly related(I think they separated lineages with house cats about 6 mya iirc, which is close to us and chimps) and they have the same number of chromosomes. There's also somatic fusion to force two eggs to combine into one nucleus which can then be used for cloning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somatic_fusion

>That sounds quite handy. I'm surprised more insects don't do that.
It may be because for a lot of insects the final stage is meant to be short, like with mayflies. Additionally a lot of flying insects seem to stop all growth when they hit their adult stage and don't molt at all after that. I forget the hormone involved, but some parabiosis(joining two separate animals) experiments done on moths showed how an adult moth could be used to stop a pupa from finally molting into its adult form when they combined. Have some nightmare fuel (:.

If you get some spices and an aquarium then you can have their roots growing in the aquarium water too. I've been growing pothos in our aquarium in the kitchen(and it's fucking massive now, with some vines being over 12 feet long after we trimmed it like 4 months ago when they were also 12 feet long then too). Aquarium heater to keep the water warm and the plants take out the nitrates and phosphates from the water so ideally you don't have to do any water changes(we don't). You just have to add new water in from what evaporates or is sucked up. We're gonna rehandle things and plant the pothos outside and move spice plants(basil and thyme for now) into the aquarium after I move things around. I've grown basil in there before too actually. It grew really well.

Yeah, that's the best way for them to disperse and move around so it's when they're the most visible. Also they take up completely different food sources when they metamorphose like that. Nectar over leaves for the moths and butterflies(unless you include the blood sucking and fruit piercing moths). Pic related drinks blood for some protein and sodium, iirc. They could certainly adapt to be pure bloodsuckers in the right context, but they're from the fruit piercing moths who drink fruit juices. They've exapted for the vampire life (:.

B^) pothos grows so well indoors too. I have guppies at the moment and tons of snails. I'd love a razorback musk turtle though but currently I just want some nice fishies. I'd want a big aquarium for my little turtle frens and I only have a 10 gallon at the moment.

They don't seem to be all that tough and the one time a Cheetah did turn on the guy running that channel it didn't really hurt him, iirc. It mostly just wanted him to go away. They can apparently hold grudges, but they also form good bounds too apparently.

I'm jealous, your dad sounds awesome too. I think they can live to be over 30 years old. If I got one right now I'm sure it'd eat all of my little snails, there's so many tiny ones and also my assassin snails are multiplying again.

Pic related are assassin snails. They're fierce snail predators, they climb on and eat snails even bigger than them.

But blood is delicious (:. I love blood. It's full of protein and fats and a nice blend of salts. What's good for the cells of your body is good for the cells of another. Butterflies like blood too but don't tend to steal it from us. The whole reason butterflies are called butterflies may be because of their mudpuddling/lust for sodium, protein and fats. They're named as they are because they were often seen in the past drinking butter. If I had to guess, salted butter mainly. Pic related is what butterflies may do to a corpse though. Others like to drink tears(lacryphagy - lacry for tear, phagy to consume) and of course moths join them in that.

You'll greatly increase your likelihood of psychosis occurring. From what I remember in people who were suffering from psychosis one of the trends was that they were far more likely to be deficient in B & D vitamins and certain minerals. The other risk factor seemed to be living in a city as that seemed to double the likelihood to develop psychosis. Or rather, the per capita rate of psychosis was something like 2x as high in cities according to one study. It's been a while since I've indulged in it all though.

B & D vitamins are especially important not just for your bodily health but also your mental health. Deficiencies in them will make you weaker, more prone to depression and in severe cases can cause permanent nerve and brain damage(but we're talkin' real severe, like you only eat potatoes and never see sunlight).

>quite the interesting idea. i assume this is something that hasnt been done before
As far as I know, you're correct, yeah. I was thinking on it recently too and there's a kind of mystery with elephant seals. From what I remember their ability to dive for so long seems to defy what should be expected, but I can't help but wonder if they're not using lactic acid metabolism(the response we use in anoxic conditions) but instead a different kind of redox(reductive oxidation, basically what we do with sugar and oxygen but replace the oxygen with something else). Would be neat to see if their mitochondrial genomes have any weird genes.

Didn't they release a Postal boomer shooter not too long ago? Also I take it that you don't like hurting things? Or is it that you want more variety in your games? More options to deal with things.

Pic related is a mangrove tree crab, they're a crab that largely lives in mangrove trees and eats mangrove leaves. They do still need to go to the water to rehydrate a bit and to spawn, but are otherwise totally arboreal(living in trees). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aratus_pisonii
I'd love to have them as pets at some point and to breed them. Also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrK8eugKRqg
They do live in my state and I know how people breed hermit crabs, so that ought to work for these mangrove tree crabs too. I just need a good arboreal enclosure, like the kind they make for tree pythons.

Well, hurting things is fun sure, and being a complete maniac is fun too, but it gets boring after a couple time. I see. Makes sense. Hatred as far as I know wasn't ever really that complex and seemed overpriced. It's just a top down shooter. It was definitely meant to rake money in from Columbine fanboys/girls and the kinds of people who dream about school shootings.
>Not the crabs that devoured Amelia Earhart but still nice.

after we finished the resume we just talked and caught up. it had been a while since i last saw her. no nice meals unfortunately, I snacked on some popcorn though

yes and no. she was moving to another apartment and her previous apartment was medium sized. it was still more stuff than i originally thought. i showed up in the morning and we finished by night fall

im thinking about going for an mba... maybe... or maybe i should just focus on a bachelor's on business administration first. both could get me leeway for better bank related careers

not too hard, i just have to watch that i don't burn it

>i usually just cook the meat in the oven and then chop it all up into little pieces. With that out of the way, u make it the way u make any other wrap!
hmmm maybe ill look into recipes for it then and give it a shot myself sometime soon

i have been cooking for two for a long time so i have it down by now. my family consists of just me and my dad and my dad is a bit of a bad/clumsy cook.
so i have been cooking for us since an early age haha. i don't really eat too much and i know about how much he does so i can accurately predict what i need and how much of it. besides, if there's extra it can always be leftovers for the next day or something. usually you want more than what you need

I imagine if it hasn't been done yet then it's because it's not something that people usually look into. The standard is to look at the animal's genome as that's what's presumed to have the most adaptations to the environment. Mitochondrial DNA is usually looked at to see the relatedness between organisms and in that way when it's applied to humans(outside of screening for mitochondrial related diseases) it's to find out our maternal haplogroup. I don't think I've really heard of any animal being found to have really interesting mitochondria, but now I should probably look into it.
>i didn't know you had a youtube channel. that's super cool. how many of your video ideas have you done?
A whole two videos B^) each over an hour long and with under 10 views. Just ranting stuff, largely. I need to record a third, shorter video and then work on a bigger one soon. Have some freshwater stingrays. People breed these and keep them in aquariums and apparently they can get very friendly with their owners.

It's a shame that people have cottoned onto this, so you can't even benefit from it now. That and there's less demand for the new stuff. You can get a sealed copy of Moon for less than it cost when it came out.

A rational consumer wouldn't buy it, but most people aren't rational. The fact that they're the third best selling Pokemon games is astonishing and gives me absolutely no hope for the series.
My disappointment with the DP remakes is immeasurable. When HGSS came out, I figured the improvements made to the series in ~10 years would be amazing and the DP remakes would be the best thing ever made...

The thing I don't understand is that the staff is the same for almost all of the movies, but the quality is all over the place. I don't think it's a budget thing either. It can't cost that much to draw Brock hugging his pillow when he sleeps...

A not so dangerous spider, a giant sea spiders. Sea spiders lack any kind of venom(although I figure some might be poisonous or toxic as a defense if I had to guess. Don't know if any genuinely are though) and are very distant relatives of actual spiders. Scorpions are far more closely related to real spiders than real spiders are to the sea spiders, which is very evident when you hear about how sea spiders have their intestines going into their legs. This allows them to actually help pump their blood through the motion of their intestines(peristaltic motion). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejayKNhfudE

Ones with great stories and characters that truly make me feel immersed into another world. Preferably something I could play on switch, 3ds or phone since I'd like to play in bed. My like of thinking is that if a game world truly truly immerses me then for at least a short time I can lose myself in it and forget the problems I have in the real world. >>

What kind of fantasy worlds do you live in?
Hmmm, you do not have to write a story of Mio and I, but maybe it would be nice to see a random slice-of life story about her. Some facts about Mio so you can get a feel for what she is like:
>She is a prototype android living on a comfy island.
>She likes tending to the farm.
>She likes lazing around at home when she doesn't have to laze at the farm.
>She lives with some friends in her cozy little home.
>She has combat functions with her mech augments. Azur Lane comes to mind as a comparison.l for what that might look like.
Sorry, I don't know too much about the Mio lore since I can't read Japanese.

Usually I listen to weebier stuff, things that are rather upbeat or weird.
>Ones with great stories and characters that truly make me feel immersed into another world.
I remember really enjoying OneShot, although that was a bittersweet story. Unfortunately that isn't on mobile or 3DS though. I'm actually very unfamiliar with either mobile or 3DS stuff though since I've just been on PC for so long.
>My like of thinking is that if a game world truly truly immerses me then for at least a short time I can lose myself in it and forget the problems I have in the real world.
I can be like that with games that have a lot of stuff to challenge me, I get focused on wanting to collect things too and I can spend an unhealthy amount of time playing something. Underrail might work also, it's an RPG and I think it maybe has an android port? Not sure. It's a good RPG if you get the chance to pick it up, I don't know how well it might immerse you though.

In some sort of JRPG-like setting where I'll have a bunch of friends and party members. I save them sometimes and they save me some other times. I'll be with fictional characters or real people I like sometimes. Basically just imagining myself in games/settings I enjoy. How about you?
Hmmm thinking. A story of Mio perhaps finding a wounded cat out in the farm and tending to it's wounds. Learning how it feels to care for another living being?

The PC master race B^). The talk of comfy blankies makes me want to go lay down wrapped up in some, but it's so hard to play and be cozy like that. That one image of the guy with the CRT monitor being kept up by two tables is very enticing right now.
>You are kind for always being happy to help!
The kinder we all are, the better it is for everyone of course.
>It's probably basic, but I like morphos. Very beautiful butterflies. Striking really.
Sometimes the really popular things are great for a good reason B^), the blue morphos and their color is structural too which is the same sort of thing opals have to give them their play of color or how oil can seem to shift colors on the surface of a puddle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structural_coloration

Most animals that have blue coloration actually have to rely on structural color to make it blue -- including us humans. We have no blue pigments for our eyes, the blue comes from the structure of collagen within our eyes and the lack of any other pigment. When you have the genes for blue eyes and yellow pigment then you'll get green eyes too, like mine B^). Have a picture of a nice, synthetic opal.

Also Slay The Spire is very addictive. I've been playing a lot of it.

>How about you?
Closest thing I had to a fantasy world in my head were the fun scenarios I imagined with my tulpas. (Yes I did dabble in tulpamancy for a few years.) Oh, that just reminded me. Some of my old fantasy worlds culminated in me writing short stories about them, but they are stuck on some old hard drive that I'm too lazy to set up. Oh well... maybe I should buy a hard drive reader.
>Hmmm thinking. A story of Mio perhaps finding a wounded cat out in the farm and tending to it's wounds. Learning how it feels to care for another living being?

I could sperg about it endlessly.

Hard to make use of blankets most of the year here, I'm afraid. I do have this kind of worn out blanket that's definitely older than me. It even has some holes in it (:. Usually I just have a sheet to sleep with, thin and I don't get too hot at night since it can easily be in the upper 80s to low 90s for some summer nights here.
>I have green eyes too, aren't we so special? Thanks for telling me your facts.
Happy to share B^), also if I remember correctly green eyes are either the rarest or one of the rarest eye colors. Rarer than blue eyes, so in a sense we are special.

Have some fuzzy wasps that are called ants. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velvet_ant
Their stings are quite powerful, they have a nickname in the Southwestern US of "cowkiller". If I had to guess that nickname came from cows maybe freaking out from the pain and hurting themselves. Despite the terrifying sting they're actually quite docile and people like to keep them as pets.

>they look like they're glowing! i didn't know there were freshwater versions of stingrays
They're really pretty and oh yeah! There's two main groupings of them iirc. One group is in southeast asia and actually has a massive species, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_freshwater_stingray
I remember finding out about them as a kid with river monsters. Iirc in that episode they dealt with one getting ready to give birth too. They're one of many kinds of fishes that give live birth.

The other group is in South America, and I imagine they became freshwater during the same time it seems their river dolphins and the Amazonian manatee did. PBS eons recently did an amazing episode covering the period of time when water flowed inland from the sea in South America. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul8UhpNzFcM
>are they dangerous?
Shouldn't be, but the sting is gonna be painful if you do get stung. Most stingray stings aren't dangerous and I think some you can actually inactivate the venom with vinegar too -- but I might be thinking of box jellyfish stinger cells with that.

I vaguely remember hearing that the source code for some of the games leaked, which is much more interesting to me. But that might have been a previous leak.
>but here's concept art of cacturne that came from it
I think Cacturne was my first pokemon by one metric. When I was a kid they sold these things called Waps, which were just stackable plastic squares. I somehow convinced my parents to buy me some and the one with Cacturne was the first I opened.

They should have just not done them, or waited until they had time to make them properly, or handed them off to another studio with more experience. I suppose the saving grace is that they definitely don't supplant the originals.
>they say pla is a really good game! while i don't know that for myself yet
I should give it a try at some point. Switch games are really cheap here for some reason so I don't have much of an excuse. All the boxes list which languages it comes with and English is usually on there - but, ironically, that part isn't in English.

i'm thinking about something i've seen recently, like
>guy with a bleak life has lots of dreams
>in one dream he appears at a broken up space, like actual outer space but there are tons of golden cracks all around him
>on top of an asteroid with a stone door (which he uses to come into that place)
>there's an astronaut sitting on that asteroid looking out into the distance
>he notices the guy's presence and goes like
>"what are you doing here? you shouldn't be here, you're too close to the seams!"
>he rummages through his backpack and hands the guy a spare helmet
>"here put this on, otherwise bad things will happen"
>guy gets more anxious as the astronaut mentions this and some cracks get wider and spread out
>"oh boy, calm down, nothing's gonna happen if you put the helmet on so do it"
>he puts the helmet on, but it kind of disappears from his sight
>he can see it in the astronaut's reflection that he also has a space suit, helmet and on, but when he looks at himself, he sees just his usual attire and no gear
>astronaut guy keeps talking
>"you know you're in a dream, right? you'll be waking up soon"
>"but now you're not just any dreamer, that gear should take you through and beyond the seams safely - and don't worry, you'll keep it"
>guy fades from sight as he wakes up, but he wakes up with something that wasn't there before
>in his hand is a pin of some sorts, it looks like an arrow pointer with a loop that goes around the ear, almost like one of those speakers secret agents use
>every night he goes to sleep wearing it, there's a stronger connection to the dream he's experiencing, to the point he can bring back some things with him, including the full memories of the dream

depends on the resolution you want to stream at
you'll most likely be fine for most things, streaming at 4k might be a problem but yeah

What kind of infrastructure is it? If it's wired (fibre or copper), 20 or 30mbps is probably fine. Cellular is probably fine as well but less reliable.
Satellite internet tends to be quite bad but I've heard good things about Starlink and the speeds offered with that can get pretty high. It might be worth exploring if that works out any cheaper.

There isn't really a set length for it and it depends what kind of journals my supervisor wants to send it to. Generally these things tend to be 10,000-20,000 words long or 30+ pages. I'm a long way from that.

A streamer I watch uses Starlink, but I don't know if he uses a business connection or not from them. It worked out pretty well for him but he did lose connection a few times(he was using it in a country that didn't have it available too, Serbia).

I have realised recently that I've felt misunderstood a lot of my life. I hate misunderstandings and I also simply like reading and writing, so that's made me become quite a rambly and verbose person through text. I feel like I have to explain myself often. This worries me slightly as whilst not a problem here on 4chan, I realise I can't just send paragraphs to everyone and expect them to read it all and still want to talk to me. At the same time I enjoy having more "live-chats" (not sure how to describe?) rather than more pen-pal type things where we both write a lot to each other but because of that also take a while to respond. I don't want to overwhelm people and send too much.

Is it? I think it's sorta a bad thing. I'm bad at summarising because of the aforementioned fear of misunderstandings. I feel like people are becoming more and more low attention span (especially people around my age I'm 21) so I worry no one is gonna pay attention to me or something like I guess. Why do you wanna be more verbose?
Also damn that's a pretty Kaguya.

How have you felt misunderstood? Reading and writing is also pretty nice, I've thought about writing books and I actually have a whole folder of story ideas that I haven't actualized any of. As for the rambly and verbosity, as long as you know when to just lighten up in a conversation then it doesn't need to be so bad. If you're talking to people instead of writing too then it's a lot easier, although I haven't been in a voice call in months.
>I realise I can't just send paragraphs to everyone and expect them to read it all and still want to talk to me.
I send Eiki anon walls of text every now and then about rant shit and he doesn't seem to mind so much B^).

In a good conversation with someone though you'll find that people who're interested in what you're talking about will be fine with the ranting. Just be ready for them to not have the most engaged response otherwise.
>Yep, green eyes are the rarest! I always get compliments on mine so I'm grateful.
I've gotten a few compliments on mine but I rarely go out and they're unfortunately a dark green. In bright light though I've been told my eyes look really nice but I hate bright lights B^)

lol, that's such a broad question
in a friendship context, i'm usually cautious at first and i don't give chase, but i appreciate when others reach out, i tend to do my best to keep talks going
i tend to get attached too quickly so i also do my best to hold my horses on that end
once i forge a bond with someone though (it usually takes a few years at least), it lasts forever
whoever makes friends with me will always have a place in my heart, as past friends do, as my current (and only) friend does
i'll strive to empower my friends but i do banter a lot and can be a dickhead about a lot of things, lol
also do expect some raw honesty from me, i don't mince words usually and see no reason to lie

>How have you felt misunderstood?
Ahh in so many ways. It's hard to give concrete examples though. I don't want to sound like I'm oh so special and unique, but I feel like I am generally unrelatable to most people and that most people (especially my peers and grils) view me as weird. I don't like it. It makes me feel alone.
I think you should write books anon. Just make it exist first, you can make it good later.
>you'll find that people who're interested in what you're talking about will be fine with the ranting.
Maybe you're right. I can't help but worry though. "Am I bothering them?" "Are they getting bored of me?" "Did I sperg too much" etc are thoughts I have often.
>unfortunately a dark green
That's not unfortunate, I'm sure they're pretty. Mine are light green and well you know eyes reflect light and stuff so sometimes they look blue, other times gray etc. I hate bright lights too. I love darkness. In my old apartment my old boss had to visit one time and he saw that I had zero lights (because that's my preference) but he was so worried about me that he even gave me one of his old lights, lol. Kind of him to do but I just honestly like living in darkness. I must be a vampire. Also I don't know if you know this but light eyes do actually see worse in brightness and better in the dark. The sun easily blinds me to the point where it can be dangerous.

I can relate, I've never fit in but I am also a sperg and my interests are often very divorced from what everyone else cares about too. Girls aren't too interested in nerdy guys either, so I can definitely relate on that front. If a girl wants a nerdy guy then what I've found is what they want is a guy with a lot of accolades. They don't care for who he is, as they really don't care about what he has to say(or talk about in relation to his interests), they just want someone with status. I've gotten pretty used to being alone though, it's become comforting.
>I think you should write books anon. Just make it exist first, you can make it good later.
I should but I also have so much other stuff I have for making stuff B^). Videos, games, science projects, etc..
>Maybe you're right. I can't help but worry though. "Am I bothering them?" "Are they getting bored of me?" "Did I sperg too much" etc are thoughts I have often.
All too relatable.

For me, my eyes will look yellow in a bright light. Probably for the same reason they're such a dark green color, so much of the yellow pigment is in them. Also that's a cute story with your boss. I do wish vampires were real though, I'd fit right in B^).
>I assume that's what you posted a picture of. It's cool lookin.
Yup! That blue stuff is a wax actually to help keep them from drying out, so it can rub off. They'll make new wax if you do that though but it's not recommended as they are a desert species. Very docile beetles too.

Also on story ideas, let me know what you think of the concept of a "disguised alien hitchhiker" story. (^:

the usual bullshit like games, anime/manga (though not as much nowadays, i guess), technology, and some more normie shit like cooking and cycling (and maintaining the bicycle)
i also like to waste my life in this site having a nice chat with people as i'm usually fairly lonely

how about you, what are you like?

p.s. i also have trouble with being misunderstood, had it for a long time
it's why i often write a lot, i usually hate leaving things open to interpretation because often times, that doesn't end well
side effect is that i enjoy writing now
also...

I'd be surprised if anyone here on r9k couldn't somewhat relate. I know you're interested in bugs and stuff, what else?
>I've gotten pretty used to being alone though
I wish that was me. To an extent almost everyone needs people, it's human nature, but I feel like I need people more than others. I guess I couldn't blame it all on my family and my upbringing, heh. Sounds immature to do but ultimately that's what it all comes down to, right?
I've tried isolating myself and trying to be a cool, stoic, independent person who enjoys being alone and that's just not me. It's not in my heart.
>I also have so much other stuff I have for making stuff B^)
Yeah... that's the problem isn't it. For that reason I try to just stick to drawing myself. I'd rather be good at one particular thing than be okay at a ton of different stuff. But then I look at (mainly Japanese) people who make their own music, draw their own stuff, write their own stories and I'm just like... how!? It puts me in awe.

I'm interested in tons of stuff relating to biology and STEM in general. Some art stuff and vidya development too. I've had ideas about making cool jewelry and art pieces too. How about you?

Family and upbringing can influence it, but ultimately a part of you will always come out over time the longer you're away from those influences. I've found that I became much more like I was personality wise as a little kid the longer I spent away from others. Independent, overly curious, dreaming about stuff all of the time and so on. Do you wish you had a lot of friends, anon? Or just some that understand you better?
>drawing
I wish I had some talent for that. Sadly my hands aren't the best for fine details. As for those people who do so much, it's all about dedicating themselves to it and getting lost in it. I think only something like 200 hours is needed to be alright at something, 10k hours is the mark that people tend to master a thing. If you draw your own stuff and want to write though then you could definitely make your own VN B^).

on games, i like base building/automation stuff, like factorio, satisfactory, oxygen not included, as well as some rpgs too, like god of war, the witcher series, deus ex, hollow knight, ender lilies, oneshot (recently became a favorite) etc.

The POV is from the driver and his friends in the car and they talk for a while with the strange person who asks them all kinds of weird questions. After they drop him off, the disguise glitches for a second and freaks them out. Not too scary of a story, but one that could be made to be on a place like /x/ as realistic(kind of) fiction.

I've tried to make a "favourite character bingo" several times but there's too many of them to cram all of them on it. Right now the top 3 are Zera from LHC, Shingo Umoregi from Akuma-kun and Bridget from Guilty Gear.
>What if Randal was turned into a woman? Would all of the appeal be lost?
To me personally? Probably not, Randal is a kind of character who is really hard to hate, unless he's so mischaractarized that he no longer resembles himself. There's plenty of people in the western part of Ranfren fandom who believe he's a transman for whatever reason. I've once seen a fanart where he's an adult with metoidoplasty (i.e. clitoris enlargement to make it resemble a dick). Gross stuff.
