I see, I see. That's an odd encounter I wouldn't have expected. Also pond loaches are neat too, they can survive outside of water for a good amount of time and will burrow in the mud to remain dormant. They live in vernal pools usually. I found out that they're a big aquacultural thing in Korea and eaten pretty regularly. They're just transported live out of the water, but some people are upset since the fish can be stressed out by that and the cooking methods(like covering them in salt while they're alive to get the mucus off). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pond_loach

Lizards definitely can be cute, but brown anoles are all fuzzy and they bite a lot. However, I imagine keeping chipmunks would smell a lot. Frogs make tons of noise too when the conditions are right, at least the ones out here.
>but would u take it out on a walk like a dog?
Nah, would probably freak people out... But maybe if he was really tame around new people. The problem is that black and white tegus have really strong bites, so if they're upset then it's bad.
>do they live in florida as well?
Some that are invasive, yeah. Most of the caimans live in central and south America though.

There used to exist an absolutely massive caiman in the past too, purussaurus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purussaurus
They also had a potentially filter feeding species at about the same time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mourasuchus#Paleobiology

He will eat your bugs. Also I'm pretty sure they eat some greens too. Could do mourning geckos too, they're parthenogenic(mostly) geckos that people literally keep in jars. You can feed them this kind of paste you make from premade powder and water. They can be rather friendly too. But they will eat their own babies if you don't give them enough places to hide.

sounds good, you could build several houses along the road and get into other mods, use the houses to place down stuff related to those mods
stuff like create, witchery (or bewitchment, i think), archon, tech reborn, etc.

tapioca? a quick google tells me it's used in cakes, crepes, cookies, pies, there's also a local recipe that's really tasty, "dadinho de tapioca"
would basically translate to "tapioca dice", lol
little cubes, usually cheese cubes, wrapped in tapioca flour and fried/baked

>What would u have done differently if i could change that part of ur life?
strangely enough, i'm someone who wouldn't redo any part of my life whatsoever
maybe some recent changes (like a day or a week ago) but the further back i go, the more confident i am that it happened the best way it could have
if i skipped that part of my life, i wouldn't have learned a lot of shit about all sorts of things
i can only talk to people more comfortably today thanks to how much i forced myself to socialize back then, and i met some great people back there too, as well as studied some "party rpg formula" shit, like the holy trinity (tank, DPS, healer), skill/spell rotations, analyzing boss patterns, and learning that dead people don't do any DPS, among other things

2d roguelike, hack and slash, quite fun game
you play as the beheaded, a bundle of cells that takes over a corpse
you're immortal but the corpses are not
this pack has a mod that adds a few things from dead cells into minecraft, called mine cells
adds only a little bit of the game to mc but it's pretty nice
there's an entrance to the prisoner's quarters in the forest north of the snow peak, i've already looted it but you can head in there to find some stuff
bunch of vial decorations which would go well in a lab

Depends on the animal or plant or microbe. For something like a gator I'd be looking to make them more docile and able to form bonds with humans. Gators and crocs at large already are able to form bonds with their young, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get individuals at some point that can be made to have bonds with things other than their kids.

Yeah, my mom is a boomer too so it's all so alien to her that I could want to stay in all of the time. Her life growing up was full of socializing and being outside all of the time. She doesn't quite understand too much about me but I think that's for the best. She worries too much.
>Is it really rhat much healthier to go outside and talk to strangers all the time? Idk if doubt it
Not for me, it wouldn't be B^). I don't feel comfortable around anyone, not even family, so being made to be around people constantly would just be unpleasant. No amount of exposure fixes that either.
>Yah that's adorable I wonder what they story is or did they place it for the pic baha?? Such a vibe tho looks cozy
I figure they're just a bit cold and were already a bit bonded. Hard to make them hug like that otherwise.

Also apparently it may be possible to use chicken droppings to extract gold and silver from ore. waking up at 1:30 am and taking it easy
today i forgot to shower before bed and now i'm all sticky from the sweat, yuck
i did dream of 3 kittens near here though, we found them at a nearby parking area at night and brought them in
they were very energetic and friendly, and were almost like copies of each other since they had the same fur markings but in different colors (white + black, white + yellow, white + ink blue)
one of my relatives' room looked extra comfy, with squishy cushions and a soft mattress that felt like a cloud, so the cats went in there and i had to get them out for them not to fill the place with fur, woke up during that

i also didn't make it to an anon's thread which is pretty sad
i told them to take care of some of their stuff but fell asleep an hour before they showed up
i hope i can spot them again and have the chat i promised

>can you tell me something about octopuses(octopi?) please?
Sure! So it's commonly known that octopuses(you used the proper English version, although you could use octopi for a kind of Latinized version of a Greek word and the Greek version would be octopodes for its plural form) are highly intelligent and can learn quite well, but they have normally quite short lives and lack any kind of social structure to really make them form anything like a civilization. They do have the other hallmarks of intelligence and an ability to manipulate their environment. However, there are actually a group of social octopuses that can even have more than one breeding in their lifetime(normally octopuses and most cephalopods enter senescence and die after mating), that's the LPSO(Larger Pacific Striped Octopus)! Pic related, they form social groups and could potentially be a way to make octopus civilizations with just some more selective pressures. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larger_Pacific_striped_octopus

Another thing would be octopus cities. In harsh environments where octopuses can't seem to really find any shelter but food is available to them, when a small pocket of shelter is available they can cram together and become more social. This may be what initiated the LPSO's ancestors to becoming more social. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopolis_and_Octlantis
Here's a nice video on 'em https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vTB6y0C_SE
I had an idea to try and replicate this in Florida with Caribbean octopuses by making a sort of tower hide out in a pen that octopuses and planktonic crabs and shrimps could get in but the grown up crabs and shrimps would be trapped. Thus making a little paradise for the little octopuses away from predators but forcing them to get along with one another.
>catch and release or for the intention of dinner?
Catch and release, although I did cook a catfish once. The water fouls the fish. 1/2

>It was alright
yeah to me it's way more than alright, my #2 food of all time and my #1 dish, since the #1 food is just a bunch of cookies
>authentic fried chicken?
hmm... can be done in a regular pan if you have enough oil to spend on it
smaller pans will fill up with less oil but you'll need to fry it in more batches

>r the weapons powerful?
i wouldn't say that, but they have some interesting effects
balanced blade increases damage each hit up to 10, resets when you're out of combat or get hit
there's another one that causes bleeding too, nutcracker crits on stunned enemies, etc.
the shields are nice but my favorites are the cudgel (stuns on timed block) and rampart (makes you invulnerable for a bit on a timed block), but there are others
bows are nice too

The most exotic food I've had would probably be either gator ribs or fried gator tail. I highly recommend fried gator tail if you ever come to Florida or Louisiana. It's like a juicier version of chicken, however it is a bit chewy. Still great though. What about you? Have you had any exotic foods?
>lmao sounds like fun. i always wanted a sibling but being an only child was my fate. although that's probably for the better. are you two close?
My sister and I were pretty close as small kids, but she has BPD. She used to need me to walk her to class and give her a hug and a kiss so she could get through the day and then at some point I stopped being her favorite person and she became overwhelmingly antagonistic to me. We're not that close as adults, no. Would you have rather had a brother or a sister if you could've had one?

in mc it's just a damage over time, more bleed means more damage

i'm not too sure as i only tried them in dead cells lol
there's the quick bow that can "fire continuously" (but there's an auto-fire hook for bows which adds this to any bow in the pack)
infantry bow does more damage to targets up close, multiple nocks bow fires 3 arrows at once, explosive crossbow fires explosive bolts, etc.
have a look around, i'm gonna hop back in the game in like 5 mins, just gonna fill up my water bottle first

taking it easy after another day of playing minecrap
managed to move my create shit to a city block and made the "que pro" guardians, lol
next in the menu is probably gonna make some witchery stuff happen in the neighboring block
i did get to mythic 31 in terms of bosses (aka by now anything will one-shot me) so i feel like witchery will be useful in that sense, with the poppets and stuff
gonna make enough of them to become practically unkillable, i may also make some demon pacts or become a vampire/werewolf in the process
i wish this fork of witchery (aka bewitchment) had the dream world too

on a side note, been listening to some old ass songs, like "just dance" and "paparazzi" from lady gaga and realizing that shit is almost 20 years old by now
that shit used to play on the radio all the time when i was in middle school, that's wild as fuck

hope you folks have a good one, have a bump

I got the itch to play some Elite Beat Agents yesterday for some reason. The most recent song (La La by Ashlee Simpson) was from 2004. Made me feel like I was crumbling to dust in real time. It's funny how edgy some of the songs seem now. We've gone soft.

Many cute turtles.

Also, my guppy seems to be giving birth. I fished out her boyfriend(who was bugging her) and now she has the whole tank to herself whilst the male has a dog bowl to swim around in for a while.

Were you rejected by a lot of kids growing up too? Like did they not want anything to do with you? It was like that for me, usually if a kid wanted something to do with me it was to get something out of me or to make fun of me.

Well, I don't know if you'd want to be enthalled by the 'tism either. The focus can be rather unhealthy and lonesome in its own way. You'll pretty much never find people who can share your love and vigor for your special interest(s) and you often make people uncomfortable if you talk about it to them much(which is what you want to do all of the time, just talk about it with someone).

>Ahhah it's okay I'm hanging in there despite everything i suppose! Honestly just ay peace i guess. Still working on not being an alchy and shit idunno gunna try to be less close minded
I imagine you'd want to drink less if life was nicer. People often develop and keep addictions to fill a hole in their life. They're almost always a coping mechanism.

Also, don't let people fool you. Sometimes it's good to be close minded to something.
>Bahaha!!! Yah it's the gift that keeps on giving, truly a flat circle kek,
wew, I'll hide my powerlevel but there's stuff I could tell you that'd both make your day and also upset you about the world.
>Ahh yahh i mean i guess we all experience that one way or another.. its just so much more liberating when you finally stop giving a fuck I suppose
ye, I've been like that for a while now but it really did sting as a kid to deal with almost no one wanting me. Now it's mostly girls who don't want me, which is more manageable B^)

For me I think I have the department store dreams because my mom took me and my sister to them a lot as kids. It's just engrained in my brain, never to leave. waking up at 3 am and barely taking it easy
i feel exhausted today because at like 10 pm or so, a roach got in here and i got woken up over it
one of my relatives is elderly and the other is a fucking coward, i swear to god... there's a service area door in the living room that connects to the service area (duh), kitchen and bathroom, and the moment the roach went outside there, he shut the door closed and the other relative's bedroom window too so it wouldn't get back in the living room but he just kept fucking staring at it
15 fucking minutes of him just staring at it, looking at it crawl and fly left and right and i'm sitting here horribly pissed off because if that shit gets past him (and it probably would), it'd be my problem to deal with
so i just fucking grabbed the can of insecticide he was pointlessly holding, shoo'd him off and killed it in 5 minutes

fuck's sake... that guy is worse than a fucking spoiled girl when it comes to roaches, he acts like they're ebola carriers or something and he'll crumble to dust and die if they so much as get near him
he's also similarly clueless with other household tasks like changing lightbulbs (he shuts off the general circuit breaker(!) to do it) or buying food (just grabs the first one he sees, doesn't matter if it looks good or horrible)
i shudder to think of what will become of him when i move and his mother passes...

tomato. My stepmommy made it

when we tried it it produced a lot of smoke so we don't do it on the pan anymore. Also there were issues with the heat iirc

>small pieces
a chicken cube wrap, sounds nice
it'd go really well with cream cheese too, pretty sure

i bet, that'd be pretty damn good
i'm craving some of the classic, simplest forms of 'dog though, which is to say just boil the sausage in a bit of tomato sauce with the bellpepper, then pouring it along with the sausage in a bun with some mayo (or mustard + ketchup) and sprinkle some potato sticks over it

>r waffle makers expensive where u live?
probably not, more so they're unusual
people don't tend to make waffles here, not a popular thing so i never tried it
i might at some point though

>u can always make sum!
yeah i know, just no ingredients right now and no money until next month or so
i get a very small allowance from my relatives along with 100 dollars from my friend each month to go by, which is barely enough to pay my bills and buy food
whatever little i have left, i either stash away in crypto or in a savings account
next month i may buy some ingredients to make pancakes with, we'll see

>tomato.
very nice, was it just the pasta with the sauce or did it have some protein as well? (ground beef, eggs, etc.)
how about basil?

>lot of smoke
that's normal, unless it starts to smell burned lol
frying eliminates water by vaporizing it, so it's expected that there'd be some vapor going on
i personally recommend you heat up the pan on max fire for a bit and using a wooden spoon to know when the oil is ready, the spoon will start bubbling when you put it in contact with the oil
you can then put the steak in and let it sear on high fire if you want something more rare, or lower the fire a bit if you want something more well done (only really useful for tougher cuts because well done steak is terrible)
when you lower the fire, you cook the inside a bit more, but it takes longer to brown

This thread just reminded me of last year when I randomly made some raisin bread and apple strudel swirl bread. The recipe called for less flour than it needed so I just added more til it felt right. Thank you for your kind words, anon, it's nice being validated for a change. That person always ends up deflecting and making things about themselves, sadly. I think I'll go play some CS2 although I suck at it.

And yes, that is impressive. I was taking a while rereading and rewriting my Discord message to that person and time just flew by.
>>

it's been so long since i enjoyed fps games, let alone multiplayer games

>>
>>80165083
I'm kinda used to that sort of behavior from people I meet online, but I can also notice it. It's like I can't criticize them at all, because they're so tired and in pain from their accident and whatnot. They've been AFK on Discord for like 2.5 hours now, either a pity tactic or they legit went to watch TV or something.

I play casual, arms race or deathmatch so it's pretty chill. I wish I had cool skins but I refuse to gamble, and the skins aren't good looking anyway compared to other games like CoD (which sucks, but has nice skins). I'd never play competitive. Also, CS2 has 10v10 teams in casual so even if you suck it's not as bad as 5v5.
>>
>>80164985
Good luck. PoFV is fun even if it's a pretty different experience from most other 2hu games as it's very rng

It's not like I make it a habit to criticize them or anything, but it feels like I can't say anything negative about them or they'd either spiral into self depreciation or deflect. In both cases it somehow ends up being about them.
>don't stress yourself over it
Yeah I'm not really. I was feeling antsy before I wrote them a message, but now that I have and I'm pretty content with how it came out I'm fine just waiting. If they wanna reply and work on our friendship then cool, otherwise I'm better off without them. A friendship should enrich your life, not make it worse. It's hard to predict what they're gonna say, if they say anything at all. You just can't be friends with someone who runs away when things go south and deflects everything. I wouldn't do it IRL, let alone online.

>games are becoming more like a job than entertainment, and i believe games should be entertaining above profitable
Yeah I don't care about being competitive or even winning as long as everyone does their job. In CS2 you can just vote kick people who slack off, although I was vote kicked once for no reason.

>people will make it about themselves but it's up to you to pull it back towards yourself, i suppose
Pretty much. Like I'm sorry for his physical and mental problems, but we all have those. I'd give him more slack than I'd give someone who's "normal" but there's a line, and self pity is also a known manipulation tactic. I do hope they're not doing any of that, but I've only known them for 1.5 months.

>you have your head in the right place, i agree with all of this
It took me a while to realize that. I also used to only blame others when relations went sour, but now I know it's also my fault. The difference is, I don't self pity whenever someone criticizes me, as much as I hate criticism.

>but at this point, rather than playing with people who may fuck shit up, i like to play on my own as much as possible, lol
I already spend all day alone (mentally, I live with my family) so I don't really enjoy singleplayer. There's a lot supposedly good singleplayer games on sale on Steam right now but I'm like yeah, nah.

We had a talk and I think it went pretty well. We agreed to talk again tomorrow. Allegedly, they been sleeping all day because they felt bad about what happened and now they're tired again. How can anyone be tired this much is beyond me, but I'm not them. Basically I told them that it won't work out if they turn every criticism into self depreciation and telling me how much their life is bad.

>maybe not consciously, assume incompetence rather than malice
I lean towards that.

>that's good, i also used to blame others but after enough bridges were burned, i realized i'm the problem and started to isolate myself even harder, lol
I burned many bridges, but now I'm willing to accept that I'm part of the problem. It's rare I'd be 100% in the wrong myself nowadays.

It depends on how people do it, if it doesn't feel like an attack or something.

>It's rare I'd be 100% in the wrong myself nowadays.
that's good, progress
often times there's no right or wrong side, just incompatible people, in my experience
what's ironic about me is that i'm compatible with a lot of people, but i make myself incompatible for utterly retarded reasons, like someone just not talking to me enough (i have a min of once every few days otherwise i start getting anxious)

>if it doesn't feel like an attack or something.
i see, the usual then
i'm dense as all fuck so it takes a very blatant and obvious kind of wording for me to take an attack for what it is, i just always assume they're being constructive about it
sometimes i purposefully divert an attack and take it as constructive criticism because it benefits me more to take it as such than to retaliate, lol

>a slow burn compared to having arguments with online friends.

>better to wait for a new day before resuming normalcy, for today enough was said
I guess so. I'm a bit disappointed with how things panned out, honestly. At first that friendship was only positives, and over time I started getting annoyed at some of their quirks and the fact we like totally different stuff, like music genres for example.

>often times there's no right or wrong side, just incompatible people, in my experience
You could say that, yeah. And I also get triggered if someone doesn't talk to me enough. 1-2 mins to reply is super long for me too if I know you're there, because I go full focus mode and only have one monitor (tried two, it wasn't comfy).

>the wrong friendships can ruin your life, loneliness will just make my mental state deteriorate but not enough anymore that i won't recover from it
That's true. I'm not even used to having friends at all. All the real ones I had faded away, and online I usually ghost or delete people over kinda dumb stuff. I am trying to make this online friendship work out, though.

>I'm a bit disappointed with how things panned out, honestly.
welcome to true friendships 101, no one is 100% compatible with anyone else, often times not even themselves
it's all a matter of synergy and compromise, and all of what you said is perfectly normal
but only those who manage to put up with each other's quirks and annoyances manage to form a bond worthy of being called "friendship"

>1-2 mins to reply is super long for me too if I know you're there
over time i learned that someone can be there without being there, lol
sometimes they're busy with a game, or manga/anime, or family, sometimes they went afk and things haven't timed out enough to give out a yellow marking, etc.
i'd advise you to be a bit more patient with that, because i'm sure it happens with you too, being there without being there, lol
>tried two, it wasn't comfy
it's weird at first but you get used to it
it's pretty convenient to game/watch something while keeping tabs on something else out the corner of your eye (emails, messengers, etc.)

>I am trying to make this online friendship work out, though.
i can tell, and if your friend puts in the effort too, i'm sure it'll go strong for years to come, despite your differences
just keep in mind communication is the lifeline of any relationship, of any kind
make sure they know too, if something bothers any of you, speak up and be there for each other
hopefully this episode can serve as a lesson in transparency
>>
>>80168316
>but only those who manage to put up with each other's quirks and annoyances manage to form a bond worthy of being called "friendship"
This is what I'm trying to do here. I've met people before that I was way more compatible with, but it was usually a matter of days before I found a stupid reason to delete them (but sometimes a good reason).

>over time i learned that someone can be there without being there, lol
I hate that. Like if you're too tired then don't let me sit there and wait for your brain to function and form a reply. I'd only do that if the other person isn't saying something to keep the convo going. I feel like usually that burden falls on me.

>it's weird at first but you get used to it
I ended up returning it. Maybe I could power through if the store wasn't willing to take it back. It was the same model as my current monitor, but I discovered that I still had to tinker with the settings to make them both look similar.
>it's pretty convenient to game/watch something while keeping tabs on something else out the corner of your eye (emails, messengers, etc.)
It was actually having it in the corner of my eye that disrupted me. I'm used to having just one bright rectangle in front of me.

>i can tell, and if your friend puts in the effort too, i'm sure it'll go strong for years to come, despite your differences
Could be nice, but I'm skeptical. My online friendships rarely last more than 1-2 months. And yeah I agree that communication is important in any relationship, and I think I'm pretty decent at it, at least compared to my friend who seems to just hide away when things go bad. Probably. It's like I have such a major social deficiency that I find it frustrating when someone is being quiet. Sometimes I don't mind, but now I do since we don't have as much time together after my friend went back to working.
>i went from that (which is another thing you remind me of my past self with) to basically thanking anyone for talking to me at any given day
My friend used to be like that when I met them, and would even say that they'd be around tomorrow if I wanna do something. Then they got used to me always spending my entire day with them (until recently). Today was the first time I heard that kinda language from them in a while, but in the context of "if you still want me around".

nah, nothing like it
some things, like flying brooms or charms that ward off certain effects, or rituals, cost magical energy
the altar supplies that magical energy and replenishes it over time
the capacity it stores depends on the plants around it, and you can place other things on top of it to increase that capacity, or the replenishment rate

same here, at least with people i don't know very well
i'm quick to let go of people who aren't close to me, even if i get attached (which is very easy to happen, disgustingly enough)

>major social deficiency that I find it frustrating when someone is being quiet.
i can kinda get it
over time i learned that sometimes, being there is all that's needed, appreciating someone's presence, even if silently
online is more difficult to do that, but... knowing that if you call, they'll answer within a reasonable amount of time, is comforting enough to me
you may seem overbearing to some people with that attitude, but i get it, if you're anything like me then the loneliness pushes you to that
>since we don't have as much time together after my friend went back to working.

Today I went to the Museum of Art. They had a good mix of stuff there. From historical things from centuries ago to conceptual art from the last couple of years. The photographs by Leo Wong were very good. There was also a whole exhibit on snuff bottles. The whole thing was free, except for a touring exhibit which was $25 (3 US) for an annual pass as a student, which lets me into most other paid things at museums here. Seemed like a no brainer.
Then I went to the space museum; that was mostly aimed towards younger kids. Still, some pretty neat stuff. They had a replica of China's mars rover. And it gave me some hope for the future seeing so many kids interested in space. They seem to screen a lot of documentaries here, which I might check out once I'm back.
Afterwards I went to In's Point and the Sino Centre to go toy shopping for Touhou stuff again. The only thing I found was a Reisen Nendoroid and she was $800. I though about getting her to celebrate beating IN last night, but I don't like her enough to spend $800. There are too many girls in these malls it makes me uncomfortable.

Hey anon, I had a quality time day with my friend today so I wasn't around earlier. Things are going very well!

>you may seem overbearing to some people with that attitude, but i get it, if you're anything like me then the loneliness pushes you to that
I'm sure that I seem that way. I don't even hide it. I just don't care for "useless" people who take up space on my contacts or friends list. Of course, it also depends on the platform I'm on. For example if it's an MMO, I'd judge a person more by whether we play together or not than if we talk a lot or not.
>especially given that... my friend works, but i don't really press him to talk to me anymore anyway
I don't need to press them to talk to me, I'm sort of their go to friend as well. It took a very long time until we found each other, even though I'd see their name sometimes, I just never messaged.

>i thank people because i don't take them for granted, but also because i don't trust they'll be there next time i want a chat
They thanked me again for today. I think it's kinda endearing.
>they must feel guilty then, please work to dissipate that or it might taint your friendship

great to hear, anon

>I just don't care for "useless" people who take up space on my contacts or friends list.
eh... i can relate to this but it's more like, expecting a reply within minutes... i just can't really agree with this behavior, lol
it feels suffocating to deal with someone like that, people like these are among the first that i'll drop without a second thought
like, i'm on my pc most of the time, but a lot of the time i don't really want to talk, i want to watch some things, play some games, read an article, waste my time and money with crypto, etc.
i want to do things, you know? so if someone tries to chain me down by pulling that move on me, like "if you're there and not talking to me within the first few minutes after i message you then i'll get upset" or something like that, i just tell them godspeed and unfriend
when i talk, i'll focus on the person as long as we're having a good talk, but i'll naturally defocus and start taking a bit longer to reply because of getting sidetracked and it feels suffocating to have someone pull that on me, it feels like blackmail

>I think it's kinda endearing.
is it?
i personally feel like letting people know i appreciate them for talking, i don't think much on it
just don't be upset if they stop, it probably means they trust you

>That's still rare
aye, unfortunately
but this exists
>SFW NEET board.
eh... not sure if making this into a blue board would change much of anything

>>80177970
>looks like you have a good future ahead then
Hopefully.

>eh... i can relate to this but it's more like, expecting a reply within minutes... i just can't really agree with this behavior, lol
Well, it's not like I'd be like that with anyone. The level of closeness to that person is also a huge factor. If we both talk to each other all day and then you suddenly starting drifting away unilaterally, it creates an imbalance, and personal issues like OCD and whatnot could also play a part in how you view and react to that situation. If someone wants to exchange 2-3 messages every 30 minutes then that's perfectly fine, it's just not what I'm looking for in online friendships, and I'd unfriend that person just as you'd unfriend someone who expected you to talk a lot. It's all relative.

>i personally feel like letting people know i appreciate them for talking, i don't think much on it
Well we both talk and play things, but yeah.

>eh... not sure if making this into a blue board would change much of anything
We'll never know, because ever since that guy bought this place there haven't been any new boards. Meanwhile you got a ton of niche board with almost no activity.
>>
>>80179149
>If we both talk to each other all day and then you suddenly starting drifting away unilaterally, it creates an imbalance
yeah no that's not what'd happen with me, things happen over time
i'm a slow burner after all, i take my time and it's precisely because of this that i slow down the amount of talking after a while
for the first couple weeks i may talk nonstop to someone for hours on end, but i'll slow down to some more casual talks after a while since there won't be that much left to talk about
i believe in gathering up stories to share with others

exchanging a couple messages every half hour is too dry though, think more like talking quite intensely but for 1-2h a day only, or every other day
that's usually more like my pace after that initial spark dies down

>since that guy bought this place there haven't been any new boards.
>ton of niche board with almost no activity.
if that's the case then it's good that hiro isn't adding any new boards
4chan is a husk of itself at this point anyway, it's an old internet relic and a massive schizo containment site, so it's in public interest to keep it around i'd say
so long as things don't boil over, it stays as is
still, my point stands, a lot of the issues here aren't related to this being a blue or a red board, it's the moderation (or lack of it thereof) and the trolls/e-girls running rampant
>>
>>80179245
>for the first couple weeks i may talk nonstop to someone for hours on end, but i'll slow down to some more casual talks after a while since there won't be that much left to talk about
I'm not that familiar with this since I'd usually unfriend people within days or a couple of weeks max, but yeah it's natural for things to kinda slow down eventually, but then they pick up again like in my case. Neither of us do anything worth discussing, we just keep each other company and play games together, and sometimes the games alone can carry the friendship in those periods where it gets a bit stale.

>exchanging a couple messages every half hour is too dry though, think more like talking quite intensely but for 1-2h a day only, or every other day
That doesn't sound so bad. I just don't like the idea of online friends who'd only message a few times a week (got 7 days after all). If someone doesn't talk to me for 3 days then I usually remove them. I might as well post on here if I wanted casual stuff like that.

>4chan is a husk of itself at this point anyway
Pretty much. I remember when we didn't even have captcha. Some boards stay kinda true to how they used to be though, thankfully.
>still, my point stands, a lot of the issues here aren't related to this being a blue or a red board, it's the moderation (or lack of it thereof) and the trolls/e-girls running rampant
I agree with that. I'd usually hide any thread that starts with stuff like "why do men" and so on.
>>
>>80179327
>but then they pick up again like in my case.
yeah, i feel like my relationships with people tend to be like orbits
either they don't form at all and i pass right by them, maybe aerobrake for a bit but eventually escape, or an orbit forms and we'll be around each other for a while still
every orbit has a periapsis (when you two are the closest) and an apoapsis (when you two are the most distant)
>Neither of us do anything worth discussing
there's a surprising amount of detail you can glean from mundane things
today nothing much happened but i can yap for a good amount of time about my day despite that
>sometimes the games alone can carry the friendship in those periods where it gets a bit stale.
that's true, yeah
which games do you play together? i remember the last stuff i played together with my friend was minecrap (recently, before i started this modpack), then terraria some time ago (prob in 2023 still) and earlier than that, core keeper back when it was still in early access

>I remember when we didn't even have captcha.
yeah true, not a lot of people making bots to spam the boards with
>Some boards stay kinda true to how they used to be though
