I was told that it's not a derby if the two clubs don't share the same stadium (like Inter/AC Milan sharing the San Siro), so the Premier League doesn't have any derbies. Is that true?

Don't really feel terribly emotionally invested in United winning or Liverpool losing tonight.

It all feels too predictable, but not in a smug way, just a "meh, we've been here before" way. Also i guess because i didn't follow either match and made my peace with United/Liverpool having another shit game and one or the other still getting away with it.

What I don't like about Arsenal and Arteta is that the guy just sucks off Pep Guardiola and wants to be him, he plays football like Pep, he buys all City's old players, whenever Pep wants a transfer Arteta is like "ohh we want him as well, we're in the race!" he's just like a little weaselly kid who follows you around dressing like you and copying you trying to be cool. Wouldn't be surprised if Arteta starts wearing turtle necks. Wouldn't be surprised if Arteta starts shaving his head and pretending he's bald just so he can be like Pep.

Pochettino is 4 years younger than Klopp (52/56). Poch stocks will never recover if Chelsea sack him. His ending at Spurs and PSG are both viewed as a failure.

Arteta's project is one of the most impressive in current club football.
Poch's project at Spurs was excellent, but it failed. Arteta already has more trophies than Pochettino, but he needs to win the league or his legacy will fail like Poch's.

Klopp stocks are falling to an all time low. Since winning the premier league with 99 points in 2020 Liverpool, in the last 4 years have achieved;
>1 FA Cup (2022)
>1 Carabao Cup (2022, 2024)

Chelsea fans bullied Havertz out of that club. They were shitting on him for years, despite his CL final goal. Chelsea F.C. wanted to dump him and accepted Arsenal's offer with no problem.

I questioned Havertz' move to Arsenal (I saw him as a 10, but Arsenal were obviously not gonna play him there) but he was clearly extremely disrespected at Chelsea. He was no way near as bad as Chelsea fans made him out to be. He doesn't owe Chelsea or its fans anything

Everton under Dyche have the 3rd/4th best defensive record in the league.
4th least goals conceded (48), 2nd most clean sheets (11).
They are a big strong powerful team.

But they have scored the second least goals in the league, 36, even less than Burnley.
If they can keep their defensive basis and physicality, plus add goals, then they will become a Europa League side very quickly. the problem is I dont see how Dyche or Everton will add forwards or goal scoring players to their team.

it's only theory, I know. but it's arguably harder to build a solid defence than it is to build a team that can score a lot of goals (arguably).

dyche doesn't have a great record of signing forwards, and neither do Everton. going to be tough to get goals into this team with the PSR/FFP rules

scrap penalties for hand balls
instead of fouling in the box being a penalty it is an indirect free kick and a yellow card and only a penalty if a red card offense

>>
8 pts clear means Everton are basically safe now

37pts is all that is needed to survive currently
Brentford have 35
Everton have 33
Forest on 26 with a better GD than Luton 25 and Burnley 23 (who they play away on the final day)

I think Forest are done for, should have never sacked Cooper

Elanga and Gibbs-White will be two of their biggest sales i think, especially Elanga who is currently joint-9th of the players with the most assist in the league. Chris Wood is aging but somehow just produced his best scoring season in PL since 19/20 so he should still have a place in PL next season. >VAR is set to be introduced in the top tier of Welsh football, it has been announced.

>The move is part of the Cymru Premier's aim to improve the league both on and off the pitch.

>VAR Lite is described as a cost-effective solution to video assistant refereeing, designed for matches with fewer than eight cameras.

>The Football Association of Wales (FAW) said its introduction was part of an investment package worth more than £739,500 in the on-field product.

>The FAW says that money will also cover professional contracts for players, a review of the loan system, greater contact time with players and enhanced support programmes for clubs in European competitions.

Finally got round to watching the highlights and its a pretty typical Slipperpool shitfest.

All this wonderful build up and then a bunch of useless tossers who cant get kick the ball in the net from 5 metres away.

I would just LOVE to see the scouse banter of Hojlund after all is said and done. Nunez is a net drain on Liverpool. He doesnt do anything remotely useful other than bottling chances whereas atleast other crap forwards can contribute in other ways.

Also, a typically weak display from Liverpool too.
Do they expect Van shite to be a literal wall/mountain for them?

TAA being a useless mong on set pieces, and overall getting mogged on every set piece Everton threw at them.
Again, Scouse rats bantering about United's questionable signings, but atleast you can count on Jonny Evans or Maguire to defend the goal with his life.

And i didn't even realise Poocastle lost too. They are on the other end of the spectrum, they are strong on set pieces and shit at everything else. Not much else to say, they're shit.

Saw this story from the lower leagues of Irish basketball a few weeks ago: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/basketball/68715301

>Two Irish basketball teams have been ordered to replay the final 0.3 seconds of a quarter-final match.

>Limerick Sport Eagles beat Portlaoise Panthers 80-78 on 23 March.

>But the second-tier game finished in controversial fashion, with the Eagles' winning points coming from free throws awarded on the final buzzer.

>Portlaoise appealed on the grounds the free throws should not have been allowed as the clock had expired at the same time the foul was called.

Unsurprisingly it didn't happen.

>>
>>140360094
Then why don't they just wait? Poonited and Ashworth both look very naive over this
>>
>>140360031
I’d imagine it’s to do with the figure within the contract to break it. Probably wording “of reasonable amount”. Both sides can’t agree so judge decides that amount. Happens quite often in landlord rental agreements but much less figures

>>140360116
because it's better if he comes in earlier
>>
>>140359918

>>
>>140359918
Why would Newcastle have any incentive to make it easy for Ashworth to leave early? They have every right to draw this process out as long as possible or demand significant compensation from Man U, they don't have a god-given right to just pick and choose who they want to work for them.
>>
>>140359882
You are underage as fuck
>>
>>140360273
I think the argument is they didn’t have to give significant compensation when they got Ashworth two years ago from Brighton. They paid £2m. The same number Man Utd have offered. Newcastle want £13m
>>

According to articles from the time I just found on google Newcastle paid Brighton £6m

The INEOS era at Man Utd is going to be such a flop. Why would an investor fully back a project where he was only going to receive the 25% of the yield ?

There has never been a successful dual ownership in football history. Many clubs have had dual ownership and failed. Whatever Ashworth does at Man Utd will prove to be irrelevant
>>
>>140360428
>>140360433
My mistake. Anyway arbitration will probably do a number close to the 6m then 20m. Also
>add ons

>>
>>140360410
It doesn't really matter what Brighton did because he doesn't work for them anymore. Newcastle and Man U are direct rivals in terms of what they're hoping to achieve in football nowadays. Plus it's probably in Newcastle's interest to delay Ashworth's departure because it means his insider knowledge will be more outdated.

He can only share it iirc. So raya has won either way. Dunno if they factor in conceded goals though in which case raya has won by a country mile.
>>
>>140365119
According to the PL site, Raya has 14 and Pickford has 11. They've both played 34 games according to the site so 4 more games to go. Pickford has the potential of getting 15 clean sheets. Maybe the site hasn't updated it but it's the official site so I doubt it.
I think people are confusing Arsenal's clean sheets with Raya's. Raya didn't play about 4 or 5 games I'm pretty sure. Realistically he's probably won it though.
>Dunno if they factor in conceded goals though

I hear this argument all the time that even if City did breach rules, Pep's genius is unparallled and deserves respect. DOH! How do you think City afforded £17m-a-year Pep. What promises was he made about the budget to attract the best players? City attracted Pep because: money

i think people have realised that if you just press really high against the de zerbi system they do actually just fall apart.
it was working when teams were afraid to commit like 4+ players to the high press but if you just surround them in their half they shit their pants, and that's what people are doing now.
inviting the other team to press you and then playing through it only works when you have maybe 2 guys pressing, not when even their fucking fb is up in your face.
