Why does /nfl/ only post webms of bad/failed plays and not great/cool plays?

Sure, nobody like Mahomes anymore (the Chiefs are the new Cowboys in that regard) so it's kinda expected that we see clips of him fucking up but you can still post vids of _other_ players/teams making fun and winning plays.

Stop being so negative, man.

As a Packers fan I knew what Stafford was back when Rodgers was in his prime. We played them twice a year, and he would have them in all of those games. The rest of the league didn’t notice because it was the Lions.

jerseys usually looked outdated in the second generation. having the patience to sit through the second generation is the key to an all time look. All jerseys are either "classics" or constantly rotating different looks. Denver and Philly and Seattle to a lesser extent are the biggest examples of this right now and I assure you their classic ones looked like poverty to most people in 1996 or so
>>
The New York Football Giants, while being a bad team last year, certainly improved their roster already this offseason, but all the talking heads just keep talking about how horrible it is they lost Barkley. They weren't winning shit with just Barkley and essentially swapped him for Brian Burns, two Olinemen, Devin Singletary and Malik Nabers. I didn't necessarily want them to get rid of Barkley but they already made a generous offer to him only the season prior and he declined, can't continue to pay a semi hurt RB huge money when your entire offense can't run block or pass block still and your top dollar RB doesn't really block.
>>
DANIEL JONES JUST FUMBLED THE BALL AGAIN!
>>
>>142860777
Getting rid of Saquon was the best move for the org.

Shame he ended up at a division rival though.
>>
>>142860777
Barkley was the sole reason why DJ was able to put up mediocre stats for a season. Defenses were completely concerned with stopping him which greatly opened the passing game. Without him DJ has no chance and they'll need to completely rely on a rookie just to be competent. Paying him top tier money for Mitch Trubisky numbers was pants on head retarded. I like what theyre doing on defense, but overpaying a mid level QB (being generous here) does a lot of damage to the overall team.
>>
>>142860854
Has there ever been a player this bad or worse who gets constantly defended by his teams retarded fans?
>He has no help, that's why it's smart to give him top 10 money so we can't afford to give him help
Brilliant
>>
>>142860897
>Barkley was the sole reason why DJ was able to put up mediocre stats for a season. Defenses were completely concerned with stopping him which greatly opened the passing game.
>greatly opened the passing game
He was also the reason the offensive was completely exposed and Jones was tee-ed off on. There was no balance or identity, because even the run game wasn't good. It was lets hope Saquon beats the other team every week.
>>
>>142860854
>>142860918
Jones has greatly improved with the fumbling issue over the last couple of years. The entire problem is he was getting sacked 12 times a game and it could have been 20 because his line was actually that shit.
>>
>>142860999
>It was lets hope Saquon beats the other team every week
And now its lets hope we don't lose by 40 every week. You still don't have any identity dumbass.
>>
>>142861049
Nigga the fumbling issue is like 1/10th of his problems. Why are you so in love with this shitter, seriously? You know he's not the solution and now that he got paid he's actively holding the team back. Does he have pictures of every New Yorker getting pegged or something? Jesus Christ.
>>
>>142861222
"Lets hope we don't lose by 40 every week" that was the past 5 years when they had 1 single good OLINEman, the roster this year is more promising on both sides of the ball it's an improvement and trying to improve into an identity that isn't "LEL SAQUON", basically shut up fag.
>>142861242
They can get out of the contract next year, how is that bad when shitters like Hurts are getting another 300M and Tua wants 200-250M + and hasn't won a playoff game.
>>
I'm starting to believe that the Cowboys are not going to extend Prescott. It doesn't seem bad to me, since the rules were changed so that the quarterback cannot be touched, any black who runs and barely knows how to throw can take you to the Super Bowl like Hurts.
>>
ded thred
>>
imagine if Trey Lance is the Cowboys starting QB next season lmao
>>
>>142861631
You know what would help you get better Olinemen? Not giving a top contract to mid level QB (again, being extremely generous.) Stick some bridge shitter in there with Saquon and you'll afford an even better line with more weapons.
>Oh but all these other shitters got paid
Hurts and Tuas stats look like prime Dan Marino in comparison to DJ.
>We can get out of the contact next year!
Yeah hopefully you do too so I can stop seeing braindead DJ fans defend this shitter organization. All it will cost is a bunch of dead cap, Saquon, and wasting time for the actually good players on the team.
>>
>>142863021
Haven't given up on Trey Lance. He was drafted as sort of a project and was bailed on immediately. I'd rather take him, Rush, and then some drafted rookie next year and stack the roster rather than give Dak that deal. The Cowboys seem content with mediocrity though so being a perennial 9-12 win team that gets bounced in the first round of playoffs might be enough for Jerruh.

Bears fans, even if Caleb pans out, you better hope he wins a Super Bowl in the first 4 years. He is going to suck your franchise dry every contract year, and you will not field competitive teams, because diva boy is going to want to be beyond paid, have preferential treatment, and be treated like a princess. I foresee a Russel Wilson parking spot/office situation developing if he shows the least bit of talent too.

>Wtf why is this player treating this like a business?!

His teammates generally seemed to like him at USC and there were no reports of him being a diva. In one of his first press conferences he also said that he was keeping his mouth shut and taking in all of the knowledge his coaches and vets were giving him. That being said, he definitely does have a spoiled rich kid vibe about him and I'm nervous that his camp will eventually erode his relationship with the front office. We'll see what happens over the next few years.

Though personally, for me, I'm a fan of an NFC team and my AFC team these days is the Bengals. THEY'VE had bad luck too and I would love to see Burrow win a ring. Call him Reddit all you want, it's nice to see a tall, white, traditional pocket passer who's actually elite.

If you'd take Lamar Jackson over Trevor Lawrence you don't know shit about ball. Lamar is what you'd get if you made a borderline superteam, then took one of those RB/WR guys who do trick plays where they throw and made him your permanent QB. Why does the sports media seem to universally agree that Jared Goff is a better quarterback than Brock Purdy? Every flaw you can point to with Purdy is also something you can say about Jared Goff.

Goff also has weaknesses that Purdy doesn't. Mainly that he has no mobility and mentally he crumbles with the pass rush gets to him. Purdy both is mobile and handles pass rush pressure better than Goff. The NFC Championship almost literally came down to the difference between Brock Purdy and Jared Goff. Goff also isn't more accomplished than Purdy after last post season.

Goof would fall off considerably for SF because the right line is bad and Purdys biggest unspoken strength is dealing with that. The book on Goof since Day 1 is hes the most pass rush dependent QB in the league. Detroit would lose a single starter on their line and it'd show badly as while they have the clear #1 starting line in the league, their depth is not very good

You could spend 3 days in the exercise equipment aisle at Walmart and not see a soul. You could probably live there long enough that they'd need to legally evict you. Once you level up past the 40lbs go find a fat lady in a mobility scooter and dead lift her.

I wonder what NFL stadiums are closest too and farthest from a Walmart, both in a straight line and actual travel distance.

Patrick Mahomes and his pregnant wife Brittany Mahomes have some news about their teammate on the way.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and the former soccer player announced they're having another baby girl.

On July 19, the couple shared an Instagram video of daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze,” 19 months, playing a game of giant Tic Tac Toe at a sex reveal party. A sign above the game board read: "Little sis or little bro? Flip to know."

As their kids uncovered each square, it was revealed that pink—symbolizing a baby sister—was the ultimate winner.

Mahomes won't go a decade without winning a ring, that will ultimately be the difference of their careers.

As much as the black talkingheads on ESPN like Stephen A Smith try to turn the NFL into basketball it never will be. Saying Michael Jordan beat _____ is fair since he played offense AND defense. Quarterbacks only play against the defense. So what we should be saying is did the other QB outperform the other. Mahomes outplayed Brady in the AFCCG and Brady outplayed him in the owl due to the Chiefs having 5 starters out on the online. So they're 1-1 performance wise.

In Brady's era guys like Peyton, Rodgers, and Brees had the per game stats or MVPs whereas Brady only had the rings. Mahomes is unique since he has the most rings, MVPs, and best per game stats of his generation and no player has won more under his watch including Brady. He has no rival. He is Marino AND Montana. He is Brady AND Peyton.

Mahomes won 3 rings and 2 MVPs which is more than Brady won in the overlap of their eras.

He's on a bad team but I can't not say that Sexy Dexy is the best DT in the league. He's really skilled and his produxtion is insane. I would say that Chris Jones is like a top 5 DT who's come up in a lot of big games like the 2022 AFCCG or last Bills-Chiefs divisional game but guys like Quinen Williams, Jalen Carter and some others are as good or slightly better than him.

Pats fan here.

They will be the worst team in all of football this year. The defense is being vastly overrated, we have a new dei coach that's into talking about feelings, no offensive line, no receiving talent, and a rookie QB with an IQ of a potato. Even the kicker sucks.

The owner is the cheapest in the league and without Brady and bill, the pats are going right back to where they were in the 80s and early 90s.

It's a violent sport. Someone IS going to get injured. Just to compare within their own division. The Bears have cobbled together a serviceable Oline when healthy, but the second someone goes down the backup is gonna be a massive, exploitable liability. The Lions literally don't care because their Oline is so stacked, they can fill in to mitigate the weakness.

The Bears have a pass rush consisting of one guy. ANY time Sweat has to come off the field, the Bears lose their entire ability to generate pressure. The Packers can rotate through 5 guys off the edge. The opposing tackles can't ever take a play off because Green Bay is always sending fresh bodies running full speed at them.

Takes a lot to win an Owl, especually in the FA era. To suggest a team should've won 4 in a row is silly even as exaggeration. Once you watch more you'll eventually learn to respect what it takes just to win one.
>>
>>142890909
Poles did add depth to both lines. If Jenkins or Davis get hurt inside, Bates can play G and Shelton can play C. If either of the tackles go down we have serviceable vets and young guys with potential in Amigadje and Benedet.
The D line will benefit majorly from a full season of Sweat demanding double teams. Guys like DeMarcus Walker, Gervon Dexter, Billings, Jacob Martin and Austin Booker are all going to have 1-on-1s rushing the passer. They still have $12 cap space to add another guy here too.
>>
>>142890917
They still have the best roster on paper and have a history of making the owl
Plus they know this is their last real chance to win one before the band breaks up

Bro, the fact that Chicago's entire interior offensive line were expendable guys poached from other rosters should illustrate how precarious their situation is. For one, it means that while they can do their job well enough, they weren't team leaders entrusted to raise the floor of the entire unit. Meanwhile if Detroit needs to elevate Christian Mahogany to play emergency guard or something; he's going to slot in between two All-Pros who can compensate for the weakness. Secondly, the fact that the Bears are a team that's pulling talent instead of donating talent in free agency implies a culture/coaching problem.
>>142891340
Every team gets injured. The Packers played that game without Aaron Jones or Jaire. And that's not even mentioning that people just forgot Bakhtiari was supposed to be their starting LT last year.

>They aren't though
The Packers had one of the highest pressure rates in the league last year. This is one of those team biases people haven't adjusted to yet. Yes over the past decade Green Bay's defensive front was ass, but now they're actually good.
>Then why did their defense suck?
A little bit of bad luck converting those pressures into sacks. But mostly because they couldn't defend the middle of the field to save their life. That's why they spent the whole offseason rebuilding their linebacker and safety units.
>>142892972
It's not a bad unit, but it doesn't put them on contending footing with the best teams in the NFC.
>led the league in rushing

Metcalf is one of the biggest hindsight draft prospects in recent memory. Players like that coming out of college routinely get BTFO each year but since he ended up working out we're supposed to pretend like every team is retarded for passing on him. Mind you the Seahawks also passed on him too.
>>
>>142894416

College WRs who run nothing but flys and posts against cheesedick corners and safeties often struggle to make the transition when forced to actually run routes and make decisions when they can't just physically dominate everyone.

Look what happened to Kevin White
>>
>>142894575
Yes theres many players like that in the combine over the years. They get BTFO in the league because they cant run any routes and are just super athletic without any actual skill. Literally the definition of a lottery pick I'm shocked he was picked as high as he was.
>>
>>142894550
See, this is what I'm talking about. You clearly haven't been paying attention since Preston Smith was 5th on the team in pressure rate behind Rashan Gary, Devonte Wyatt, Kenny Clark, and JJ Enagbare. That's two interior rushers and two edge rushers ahead of Preston. Then they've got 3 rookies who made meaningful contributions last year who should improve this upcoming season. This is a good unit.

All the top offenses have brilliant OCs. Everyone projected the Rams to suck, and then McVay got a bunch of literal whos to outperform most of the league.

The Chargers are actually an example of the opposite. They had Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler and got nothing for it. Then the moment an actually good coach arrives, Harbaugh just says "I don't care about any of these bums, get them off the team."

Gary is a good #2 but if he wouldn't be good as a 1 and the rest of the role players would suffer as well.
>But he has a better pressure rate
Because the scheme is going through Smith. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

>>142895843
>overrated
>4th round
Okay I hoped you had something insightful to share

Fucking Trevor Lawrence. If it wasn’t for him the Packers could have paid Jordan a respectable contract over 3-4 years, and if he became a great player then sign him to a monster deal in 2 years. Now everyone capable of a forward pass expects $50m a year.
>>
>>142895883
Probably because Green Bay pays Gary almost double what they pay Preston.
>>
remember when everyone was laughing at the packers for the jordan love experiment
>>
>>142895928
Inflation. Teams and agents are probably expected the cap to go up by a lot.
>>
>>142896043
He had one good second half of one season. Calm the fuck down.
>>
>>142896043
They're still laughing. He hasn't achieved shit, kinda like you.

I'd rather roll the dice on a QB who looked elite for half a season than pay someone who's been mid for several years.

Promising. Basically TLaw without the resume.

>>142896257
Copy paste the second half of Love's season into the first half, and he's literally the MVP.
>>
Oh and Trevor Lawrence is also younger than him
>>
>>142896016
Because his stats are good, do you think that player contracts are based on who the best players actually are? The scheme still goes through Smith. You know the offensive scheme flows through the run game too right? Even when Rodgers was putting up numbers?
>>
>>142896043
As a Bears fan who liked the Love pick I was saying that time on the bench was the best case scenario for him. Paying him $56M after half a good season is still funny though.

>Quarter billion dollar dice roll
>>
>>142896369
You had me going for a second there. Well played.
>>
>>142896343
So you just don't count the first half of lousy play for.. what, reasons? Love is not worth that money
>>
>>142896476
>lowiq statfag can't comprehend the game
Ignorance is bliss I guess. Just don't pretend like you know what you're talking about.
>>
Remember when Packers fans tried to convince us that Rodgers never had any help because they drafted WRs in the 2nd instead of the bottom of the 1st. As if having Nkeak Harry or John Ross over Greg Jennings and Jordy is preferable.
>>
>>142896418
Table stakes. Jared Goff got $50m/yr. This is the cost of entry for any starter good enough to win games.

>>142896477
I mean, that's the risk. Maybe he just got hot in the 2nd half of the season and will regress to average. The counterargument is that it was the youngest offense in NFL history where the few vets they did have missed significant time due to injury. It's not outrageous to suggest that it took some time for the young players to adjust and the 2nd half is the real version of the team we'll see moving forward.
>>
>>142896713
wasn't that the Daniel Jones reasoning too
>>
>>142896731
Yes, but a more extreme version of it. The 2022 Giants were a very young, pretty good offense that upset the favorites in the wild card before getting crushed in the divisional. The 2023 Packers were the youngest ever, really good offense that annihilated the heavy favorites in the wild card before narrowly losing in the divisional.
>>
>>142896877
That's why he got paid less than the top rate for quarterbacks. Funnily enough Love will too.

It really isnt. That's near the top of the market. In Loves case it will literally be the top of the market.
