Might as well argue shotput or javelin don't count as a sport because they aren't throwing their projectiles in tandem on the same range or at each other. And there's plenty to shit talk about fencing, what kind of combat sport thinks whipping your sword around the back of your own head to lightly tap them on the scalp is a valid technique while their direct stab to your gut doesn't count because it happened after said tap? Fencing is the aikido of weapon-based sports.
