For real though when will Barca start spending like a madman again? They've been so broke for the last 3 seasons I think. Although in one of those seasons they managed to spend 50m for aging Lewy so..
>>
>>142989685
If you look into their deals they’re pretty much financially hamstrung for the next 20 years due to how much of their revenue they’ve traded off for short term fixes and all the remaining debt they need to pay off. That’s not mentioning additional costs like stadium shit.
>>
>>142989685
When they get a president who doesn’t care about being re-elected. They will need a few years in a row of financial restraint and to make some unpopular sales. Or when the club is entirely owned by investment banks.

Arsenal do need a guy who can run for 90+ mins every game, but they need a guy who can also tackle and pass. He can pass, but not tackle. He isn't good in the air so he doesn't complement their set piece memes. He can't do long shots so no blooters. His finishing is poor so no running into the box to take shots. He isn't fast so he can't zip back and forth to make use of his stamina. He is what I would call a 'squad player' but they have Jorginho so I think it's a waste of money unless he is >£15m (and even then I think they should be signing other people, Onana was perfect for them and United but nope).

>>

How does he had that high aerial duels win where his jumping is meh, he's pretty strong and decently brave but he wouldn't be doing that % in FM. I've literally had giga chad DMs/MCs with 20 jumping, 20 strength and 18 bravery and they've barely gotten 85%+.
>>
>>142992070
that was probably going to be my other bet. he wants someone who can sit behind rice and play like destroyer while getting the ball up the pitch still. if he can do that in the prem better than jorginho he'll probably start. think partey has fallen to the wayside in that role

I now know that when people type out player reviews like this, they're purely based off a glance at a listless set of stats in Football Manager such as 'mentality' and 'vision'
It's not actually based on anything outside of that. I genuinely thought people were typing up their personal observations lel
>>
>>142993220

>>
>>142993643
>desu it's a good gimmick, pretending to be an expert on a player but just going off FM stats
It really is, maybe it was a gimmick all along? All these past years of in-depth analyses on players but they'd never actually seen them play a single time.
>>
>>142993220
as an FM player i usually look at their FM stats, look at what EA and PES think of them (especially since FM is done at the start of the season, and PES and EA release updated cards based on how the player is doing) and then i look up opta stats and whatever to see how they were actually performing and where. i can't watch all these guys actually play, i simply don't have the time, but this takes like 5 minutes and keeps me somewhat informed on what they are like
>>
Who are Citeh splurging on if they getting rid of KDBs wages?
>>
>>142994035
Doesn't FM update the stats halfway through the season with the winter update?
>>
>>142993832
>All these past years of in-depth analyses on players but they'd never actually seen them play a single time.

To be fair how many epl viewers have willingly watched a Real Sociedad match in the past 4/5 years that wasn't because their team played against them in Europe?
>>
>>142995522
Exactly and that's why I honestly don't partake in those chats or even watch highlight videos of those players because it's meaningless, people can make a highlight video for anyone north of Ali Dia
>>
>>142993643
I literally said I was doing this gimmick at the start of /trans/. Wild how people forget it.
>>
>>142997241

>>
>>142994035
this but unironically. the best way to get info about a player you don't know anything about is to look at their FM stats, FIFA stats and then opta stats, maybe with some highlight videos. it clearly isn't informative but it gives you a good idea of their strengths.
>>
>>142994658

>Pitor Zielinski (£28.5m)
>S. Bergwijn (£71m)
>O. Boscagli (£22m)
>Rodrygo (£105m; becoming £140m)

24/25 they did

25/26
>Marco Carnesecchi (£18m)
>Theo Hernandez (£49.5m)

26/27
>Gabri Viega (Free)
>Lewis Ferguson (£43.5m; becoming £60m)
>D. Pizarro (£3.75m)
>Jakub Kiwior (confusing amount, loan)
>A. Schjelderup (from me, £84m, becoming £94m)

26/27

>Enes Sali (£5.75m)
>Josip Stanisic (£47m; becoming £63m)

Kvaratskhelia (prob spelled wrong). In my game he stayed with Napoli (known as Parthenope for some reason) until 25/26 when he was sold to PSG for £116m. He has done well there. Interestingly in the same window they sold Osimhen to Arsenal for £85m and he has scored 32 goals in 63 games for them averaging 7+ rating. They won the title in 27/28 and were second in 26/27, third in 25/26 when they bought Osimhen. They beat City by one point to win the title. Holjund was top goal scorer that season with 19. Season before Rodgryo for City scored 27. Haaland has never performed better than he did IRL. I sold Neves to Arsenal for £111m and he has been OK. They also signed Ajer from Brentford for £50m(£61m). They signed Geertruida from Madrid for £63m(£70m). Another one of my players for £64m but barely played him (he is basically able to play anywhere on right). Liverpool signed Billy Gilmour for £59m(£66m) and he has been awful. United's biggest signing was Javi Guerra for £98m and he's been awful. Chelsea's biggest signings were this season I'm doing right now from me. They signed Carlos Augusto for £46m(£53m) and his asking value is now £100m+. They signed Hugo Felix from me too for £45.5m(£51m). He was pretty good and could have gotten more but I demanded 50% sell on fee as he's only 24. For reference he averaged 7.78 last season and 7.77 the season before. Got 16 assists last season too. Let him go because my regens are now 20/21 and looking good.

It is weird because Saka, Martinelli, Rice and Saliba are always in the Top 50 players list. I'm always told to sign Martinelli by by staff (yeah like I'm spending £300m on him lol lmao). Rodgryo was a really big signing for City which basically helped them dominate.
>>
>>143006589
i think gordon would likely be cheaper, is english (for homegrown shit), is a childhood liverpool fan, buying him would weaken a rival, is already proven in the premier league, etc

some status autism
23-24 all comps:
gordon 48 matches played 3845 minutes
12 goals (1 PK), 10 assists
xG 10.8 (10.0 without pen)
G+A-PK/90 .49
xG+xAG/90 .52

kvaratskhelia 45 matches played 3573 minutes
11 goals, 7 assists
xG 12.0
G+A-PK/90 .45
xG+xAG/90 .54

The reasons you listed him being cheaper is exactly the opposite for me. That's why I was saying go with Kvaratskhelia, since if you're in the PL you pay a premium on English players premium on home grown players, premium on buying from a fellow PL club, premium on buying from a table position 'rival' and premium on PL experience.

thingken of watching the premier league this year

who are some shitter teams in the league i should root for? im talking like bottom 3-5 teams who are on the cusp of getting relegated.

i mean, it's a friendly... i get that they dont want to try, they are trying to build fitness yadda yadda
the real criminal aspect of it is how much they charge us (and probably other foreign fans when they go to asia or whatever) obscene prices (like $100+ a ticket) for that subpar shit. also they play in NFL stadiums usually and they are fucking awful for soccer/footy
like i said my mom bought me tickets to go with her, she's a diehard liverpool fan because i think she wanted something to connect with her son about originally but she ended up watching every game the last like 8 years and texting me about it. she doesnt really know what's going on most of the time but she watches and we can chat about it so it's nice. she'll text me about transfer news or some shit before i even see it

Gonna be a chaotic bottom half this year imo.

Forest
Everton
Ipswich
Wolves
Fulham
Soton
Brentford
Chelsea
Brighton
Leicester
Palace once Glasner fucks off to Bayern in November to replace Kompany

All due to scrap it out imo.

Getting worried about the Eze to Spurs links. I just know that's a shit move, paying way too much for a guy who isn't that good. His main position is the same as Madison's, who is a much better player than Eze.

Everton almost get relegated every season but somehow avoid it through miraculous divine intervention. They are a pure relegation side. Also Ipswich, Nottingham Forest Southampton will be tanking hard this season.

Brighton will have a good season, will finish mid table at worse.
Chelsea will finish in the top half, albeit in the lower half of it. 9th or 10th I reckon.
Brentford mid table.
Everton will have a good spell at one point in the season, will finish about 13th
>>
>>142989685
They have to go full Bilbao to keep financially afloat.
>>
>>143031935
Bilbao's transfer ideology is genuinely impressive. You would think they'd struggle by being so restrictive but they've never been relegated.
>>
>>143031679
I think it's arguably more entertaining to follow a relegation side than a stagnant mid table side. The amount of adrenaline pumping through your veins watching your team dance with death and come out on top is next to none. And even if you do go down chances are you'll be at the top of the Championship next year and get to celebrate that.
>>
think ipswich fans are the most obnoxious promoted fans in recent history, they really do undermine the PL and it's going to be funny watching their immediate realisation that this championship side they're putting together isn't going to cut it

leicester will most likely be fucked too assuming they get the points deducted and then it'll be a toss up between everton/brentford/southampton maybe forest but i think assuming they're clear of more point deductions they'll actually do relatively ok this year
>>
>>143031743
Then keep Lo Celso.
Oh wait, the fat Greek doesn't play him for some reason.

Spending £60m upfront for Eze is nothing short of idiotic. Guy's not that good, and there are other positions way more worthy of high expenditure.
>>
>>143032636
>it's going to be funny watching their immediate realisation that this championship side they're putting together isn't going to cut it

Ipswich were promoted automatically having had to compete with three teams with far superior resources and players. Their squad last season was midtable at best. What McKenna did was nothing short of insane.

didn't steve cooper take notts forest from relegation 12 games into a season to a 4th place finish missing out on automatics by like 1 point? i think that was more impressive

anyway you're going to be burnley v2.0 with your approach, PL players absolutely mog championship players in every attribute (strength, pace, speed of thought, speed of feet). the only positive is if you can keep the squad together you'll have a good chance at promotion again in 25/26

They went from 1 point after 7 games to finishing 8 points behind the automatic places: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021%E2%80%9322_Nottingham_Forest_F.C._season. That isn't more impressive than what McKenna did.

>anyway you're going to be burnley v2.0 with your approach
Literally just said I don't support Ipswich: >>143033025. Not sure why it's so difficult for some of you to think that people talking positively about a club means they support that club.

>PL players absolutely mog championship players in every attribute (strength, pace, speed of thought, speed of feet).
Compare the squad Ipswich had last season to the squads of Leicester, Southampton and Leeds. McKenna forced two of those squads into the play-offs. People thinking they're going to be like Luton were in 2023/24 as a plucky small club punching massively above their weight are going to be sorely mistaken.

>>
>>143032754
No they only performed well because they were threatened with relegation. Alas last season's bottom 3 happened to be the worst ever.
They will sink back into the toilet like they always do. Everton are a waste of space.
>>
>>143033263
even if mckenna is the second coming of christ (he isn't) he's still going to be anchored by his players. he plays a high risk approach which you literally can't do as a bottom feeder in the PL (see: burnley)

he basically needs to completely rebrand his self, go low block and some how get 200% from all of his players for the season if he wants a chance at surviving. i have nothing against ipswich and would rather them be in the PL as opposed to literal who shitters like brentford and bournemouth but they're miles off the level required
