Just watched four innings of the Italian world series.There's 1.4k people watching the stream and there's like 60 spectators in real life. The average of every batter seems to be like 330 mostly because the defense isn't very good, but it was cool. The production quality was actually not bad, and the two commentators were really solid.If you're curious, here are the problems that I think are holding back the IBL (Italian Baseball League) that are NOT caused by the obvious low budget:1. The names suck. There's no official format like [city or state] + [mascot], instead everyone is left to name their own club, so you have godawful names all over the place, and very generic logos. This kills the identity of the league.2. The uniforms aren't thematic. Not having a team mascot and identity means your colors also have fuck all to do with your town/region/whatever.3. Cryptic as fuck season system. There's 6 divisions (30 teams total, no NL-AL split), the first team of each division gets to the playoffs EXCEPT the ones in the first division, for that one 5 out of 6 get to the playoffs. So... do teams change divisions based on how they're doing? Also there's Serie A and Serie B etc like in soccer? Wtf?This league badly needs some outside investor (arabs, chinks, some big bank) to buy up the whole thing and standardize some shit across all teams. Make it a proper baseball league. Then we'll have something.
