Why don't they build this stadium IRL to host the UCL final?
>>144512775that roof looks cool but aside that it would be a nightmare for everything else
>>144512775This stadium is unlocked once a team manages to win the Champions League winning literally every game.
>>144512775I don't the architecture works. The roof would weigh too much. Also the seats on the top deck would be terrible.
>>144512775The roof has no utilitarian purpose and is 50 years from being feasibly executable with construction and the stadium itself is a relic of things built 70-110 years ago (A 100,000 seat bowl stadium dug into the ground)It's in the middle of an endless but flat city and takes up multiple blocks, this is simply impossible due to the fact property owners have rights to their homes in basically every country except maybe Belarus or Romania. Finally it's on top of a hill in that unnamed city, find me one hill outside of Los Angeles that you could transform into a stadium without some historical society going "This is the most important hill in history and has 5000 years worth of human settlement going 40 meters down, we need to research it"Essentially it's just the Rose Bowl with a Star Dome and the mountains edited out.
>>144512775Where would you put it? It would have to be in a single specific country. Other countries, cities, and clubs would complain about being excluded.Who would pay for it? UEFA alone is too stingy, especially if the stadium only hosts one game per season. It wouldn’t be cost-efficient. And that’s assuming you can build it like that. There’s no need for it
>>144512805The stadium in your pic seems fine to me. But yeah, that CL model stadium would need to be much steeper to allow everyone in the back to see the pitch
>>144512912>Where would you put itIsrael>Who would pay for itJews>It wouldn’t be cost-efficientNothing is cost-efficient in Israel>Other countries, cities, and clubs would complainThey would not because in the end they all support Israel
>>144512912>Where would you put it? It would have to be in a single specific country. Other countries, cities, and clubs would complain about being excluded.Europe is well connected enough that any place in Western/Central Europe would be accessible to any club.>Who would pay for it? UEFA alone is too stingy, especially if the stadium only hosts one game per season. It wouldn’t be cost-efficient.It would host the other European finals too, as well as the UEFA Super Cup. If they decide to reduce fixture congestion in the future then they could possibly play one-legged semi-finals in the stadium too. And I'm sure they would find other events that the stadium could host throughout the rest of the year (concerts for big popstars, NFL matches, potentially hosting Athletics events if they build a removable stands/running track). Even using it as part of a generic football/UEFA museum with stadium tours would allow it to generate income when it's not hosting events.>And that’s assuming you can build it like that. There’s no need for itReal Madrid didn't need to renovate the Bernabeu, but they did it anyway. Having their own stadium would be a good source of income for UEFA, even if the upfront costs would be very high.
>>144512775The CL final is so big now with so much infrastructure required that there's only realistically a few cities and stadiums that can actually host it now A permanent home would probably be a smart move Munich or London would make most sense to me. Maybe Amsterdam
>>144512775Should be build in a neutral place then. Like Abu Dhabi would be awesome
>>144512775Its a flying saucer, thats ayy lmao technology. Just like the pyramids.
>>144513183Switzerland
>>144513183kys
What if we build a giant stadium inside a dead volcano and then put the CHL stars across the volcano opening tip at the top
>>144513301>CL final hosted every year at the top of Mount Fuji on the other side of the WorldKINO
>>144513183>>144513301Just build it in a crater on the moon. Then it would be in a truly neutral venue.
>>144512775it would have like 500k capacity at least, based on that pic, also anyone not in the inner one third would have a terrible view
>>144512912Berlin And have the people travel with the Breitspurbahnhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0zS8z8YqJ8
>>144512775That's a massive plot of flat land surrounded by a dense city. Where does this exist? It would have to be some old military installation or something that got decommissioned and sold to private developers, who then decided to be a gigantic stadium surrounded by a massive concrete plaza rather than building something that would net them more revenue
>>144513455Obviously the concourse surrounding the stadium wouldn't need to be as big as it is in the picture, but there are plenty of European stadiums that are built in the middle of big cities. If anything, it's better to build stadiums in the middle of cities because it makes public transport links easier and fans can drink alcohol in the stadium without needing to drive home or pay for taxis there and back.
>>144513842There is plenty here also built in the middle in the city also. I live easy walking distance to an NFL stadiumBut my point was the concourse, there's no way you find an area that big in the middle of the city. Even the area of the stadium alone would be tough to fit somewhere
>>144513842>but there are plenty of European stadiums that are built in the middle of big citiesYes and land acquisition to build those stadiums is extremely difficult in modern times. This one would take like 6 times the area of a normal stadium. Nobody can acquire this much land in a city without use of eminent domain
>>144513985Everton and Spurs have both built large stadiums in the middle of large English cities in the past decade, you under-estimate the amount of un-used, rundown land in our cities
>>144512775it sure looks like it would finally have enough parking spaces for Americans to consider it a good stadium
I love how this thread evolves into a serious debate about real estate in modern walkable cities
>>144512775I'm not sure people on the top tier can even see the pitch
>>144514951But they'll sing and brings signs so they have SOUL
>>144514951Just sell them binoculars like they do in the theatre.
>>144515752I think he means the seats would have obstructed views
>>144515752>>144516043yeah the rake is so shit they're looking at the bottom tier of the stand opposite
>>144513939Just do what they did with Barclay's Center and build it over a train yard
>>144512805>>144512858What if there was a glass dome below the stars holding them
>>144512802>>144512775>>144512805Actually it’s not that hard to build. Too lazy to look it up, but there are frames/frameworks that engineers use for roofs and other structures. Just pick a light material and it’d be done. The real issue is that the cost to build a stadium is high and you would build it for what? To host one single game at the end of the season? Not worth the investment
>>144516077You couldn't fit it in a train yardYou'd need an even bigger industrial site
>>144516209There are some pretty big train yards outside of Georgia, Shooter.
>>144513342>making a tackle a bit too hard>both players flying out of orbit
What if it was just one big star as a roof? Seems easier
>>144512805what if the roof is made of plastic? it could even be 3D printed
>>144512775Uefa can't spend money on stadiums they'd have non left to match fix
>>144516841It doesn't snow in Lithuania?
>>144512805Dummy! The whole thing is made by uefa, experts worked on this very image, they put a lot of research in this before airing the video for sure
that render is outdated, this is how it looks in the current intro
>>144520032
>>144520046
>>144520054
>>144512912>Where would you put it? It would have to be in a single specific country.>Who would pay for it?Come on baby, you know whoUEFA wants the American bucks and this would be the next logical step
>>144520230but where in america?
>>144520230>>144520256Look at that design/color scheme. It can double as the Cowboys stadium.
>>144520256Tel Aviv
>>144520032>>144520046>>144520054>>144520065Sovlless. Looks like new Bernabeu
>>144520032they even managed to ruin the champions league stadium, that's fucking impressivewhat gripe did shareholders have with the previous one?
>>144512858Chinks could build this in a year, if they wanted to. And they could buy the CL finale for a decade or two to justify it.
