'mega'-revved?
Ignoring the nonce. Realistically, is there anything Fury can do in the rematch to get a better shot? I think Usyk will be fully prepared for the uppercuts this time around because that was one of the only things that Fury had going for him.
>>145388066Well Andy Lee said one thing Fury can do is "get in shape", which apparently he didn't do the last few times because...reasons. I'd say he was in decent shape for the last fight though, seems like more of a cope. The uppercuts were an interesting tool. Fury just sort of pulled them out of the bag as a counter to Usyk ducking and coming in low and it really seemed to catch Usyk off guard, at least for a couple of rounds. But I doubt if he continued spamming them that it would keep giving him success. I thought that was pretty crafty from Fury, like he had an ace up his sleeve or a stroke of wisdom to change up his game, he made a good adjustment there. But Usyk made adjustments as well, and now they'll be coming up with ways to get inside while being wary of things like uppercuts. Still, I think Fury has other tools he could employ. Some are suggesting he be extra physical which basically equates to "fight dirty and turn it into a wrestling match", but it's this idea that if Fury becomes "the big man" and bullies Usyk with his size, similar to how Joshua *kind of* did in the rematch against Usyk, or how Dubois was being pretty physical with Usyk. It's something Fury didn't really attempt to do too much, and seemed to be more fighting at range for most of the fight, oftentimes moving backwards. It's a similar situation to the AJ rematch where people are saying >screw trying to outbox him, just be PHYSICAL dawg! you're the bigger man, act like itand blah blah blah. Maybe he'll have success, but I think Usyk will just use his feet to get out of the way and punish any reckless movements Fury makes.
Clenny turned pro 19 years ago today
>>145388066I still think that if Fury wants to win then he needs to drop more weight. I don't fully believe what Andy Lee says is a complete cope like the anon above me does, there is a nugget of truth in the sense that Fury needs to have better stamina in order to maintain his backfoot style for longer than just 6-7 rounds. Usyk isn't a Wilder or Whyte, he's going to force fury to fight at a high pace even when he's losing rounds. The only problem is I can't really remember any time someone other than Usyk has forced fury to throw as many punches and move as much he did in that fight, so it's an open question whether or not he really can have much better stamina. I do not think that he should try "bully" usyk more, as he did against Wilder in the 2nd fight or against Lerena where he made it ugly. I think Usyk actually would WANT Tyson to get up close and personal with him, he's the one with the faster hands and more pop to his punches, he's also pretty underrated at stopping guys from abusing him in the clinch.
>>145388933>LerenaMeant *Cunningham
God bless you Oleksandr. God's chosen warrior
>>145388066Using his body more and dirty tactics in general, like others said. Fury doing the 1-2 and then crashing into his opponent could work against Usyk. But Fury needs to start fast before Usyk knows what he's dealing with and before Usyk can readjust.
Fury literally can't afford to lose. You can't sign a picture of you getting rocked for the guy that rocked you, and then lose again. Praying fury wins via KO. I won't be able to stomach the 2nd hand embarrassment
>>145394124He's going to need to pull of an all time best performance. And based on how he's looked his past few fights...yeah I don't see that happening. Give it a 10% chance Fury pulls it off.
>>145388933While I think Lee is mostly coping, I do agree that Fury could be in better shape. But at his age, just how well can he get into shape? When we saw him crawling in the streets on alcohol benders not that long ago. He's been abusing his body for a long time, getting up there in age, and has taken some serious damage over the last few fights. Big damage from Wilder, down from Ngubu, and Usyk hurt him pretty bad too. Fury was seriously dazed during that flurry of punches. No way he didn't take life altering damage there. Yeah he can get into shape because he's going to need stamina to keep the volume high. But is it even possible for someone like Fury is what Im wondering. Sure doesnt seem like it.Other thing Lee blamed it on was Fury couldn't spar during the Usyk fight because of the cut on his eye, from when he had his bitch smack him in the head with a frying pan. Then Fury made the excuse that his wife had a miscarriage and the stress of his wife being pregnant, and so on and so forth. All I'm seeing from Team Fury is a lot of excuses and lots of denial.
>>145394310>All I'm seeing from Team Fury is a lot of excuses and lots of denial.because they know they cannot imrpove that much to beat usyk, sometimes you just cannot beat a guyqueen doesnt have the engine and hasnt shown the discipline in a loooooooong time to make us believe shes got serious chances of winning

There's no big secret game plan. Fury's high on copium right now and likely many other things. But it seems like part of him has accepted he's going to lose, yet he's still trying to grasp with it. Maybe he can pull the rabbit out of the hat. People keep gassing him up. Maybe he fully convinced himself he won the first fight and judges robbed him. Maybe I'm underestimating Fury a bit, but he seems awfully low energy compared to his old self. I know he's the kind of guy that tends to do better in a rematch and yet he's faced with his toughest challenge yet and he's no longer in his prime most would agree.
>>145394356Too much anime, rod
>>145394370>I know he's the kind of guy that tends to do better in a rematchyeah but those rematches werent vs bums, the only other time in which she was supposed to rematch a dangerous guy she ducked the rematch ( klitschko) and the only reason she took the usyk fight was because turki forced her otherwise she had to pay the 10M penalty fee also I think one of the reasons of why shes low energy is becahse she knows the mind games dont work vs usyk, in fact usyk is the one whos been mind raping her the whole time
>>145394406>also I think one of the reasons of why shes low energy is becahse she knows the mind games dont work vs usykGood point. Why waste the energy if you know he'll be unphased. But there's other weird things as well like in the first fight where he wouldn't even look at Usyk. I still don't understand. And yeah, Usyk is in full troll mode. Fury's just being kind, nice about it. Maybe trying to show Usyk that he's unbothered. But he doesn't really seem comfortable either, because he's not acting his usual goofy self. Tense, always playing defense in interviews, always hostile under the fake niceness. He just wants softballs and bullshit. Hoping Usyk doesn't hold anything back.
>>145394437>Hoping Usyk doesn't hold anything back.more the like judges and referee dont get in their way remember that the referee literally obstructed usyk twice when he was destroying queen
>>145394479That's true. Usyk was about to lay into him while he was slumped on the ropes but the ref dived in. Fury was able to recover well because of that. Had it been more of a forced knockdown with no ref interference, Fury might not have made it the distance.
>>145394488Ironically, he probably would have recovered better if he was dropped and given ~10 seconds to recover
why does the mexiCAN keep referring to Tyson as "she"? Is this what women look like in Mexico?
The current boxer whose footwork could nullify the styles of Usyk and Loma is Crawford. Crawford would force Usyk to fight honestly and bring the fight to a standstill in a very Crawford-esque fashion. However, Fury presents a unique challenge because he doesn't rely on traditional stance, footwork, or guard. Fury breaks the fundamentals but somehow gets away with it. It's an insane thing to do, especially in the division he's in. He outboxed Klitschko and Usyk in a very unusual manner that hasn't been seen before in high-level HW boxing. Fury reminds me of Locche, but Fury is riskier, and Locche has not faced the level of competition that Fury has.

The guys positioning and head movement was brilliant, hes one of the first fighters that knew how to switch almost instantly from offense to defense because of how good his footwork was.And of course for most of the fighters back then, they're not gonna do everything the same as they are today, that doesn't mean you can't look at their skills in the context of their times and appreciate how they revolutionised the game to where it is today. Look at how SRR style later heavily influenced Ali's, or how Benton basically invented the Philly shell. I don't know why you're obsessed with trying to discredit boxers from previous generations
>>145394310>>145394294Fury was in as good a shape as he could possibly be. That WAS the best performance he could ever give.Multiple camps, multiple ducks and delays, giving him as much time as possible to face Usyk. This time he's going to come in as just a fat fuck and hope that he can bully him, because he won't be able to get in that shape again.Despite the fact that when he was trying to clinch in the first fight, Usyk managed to shrug and throw him off before continuing as normal. It's going to be a career ender. I doubt the Queen will try for anything else high level after that.
>>145396304really the only thing he can hope for is usyk aging overnight but I doubt that'll happen since usyk is disciplined and hasn't abused his body with drinking and drugging
>>145396203>hes one of the first fighters that knew how to switch almost instantly from offense to defense because of how good his footwork was.Oh so he's one of the first ever which means his technique was primitive at the time.most of the opponents he fought didn't know how to switch from offense to defense instantly unlike now where most elite boxers do.>And of course for most of the fighters back then, they're not gonna do everything the same as they are today, that doesn't mean you can't look at their skills in the context of their times and appreciate how they revolutionised the game to where it is today. Look at how SRR style later heavily influenced Ali's, or how Benton basically invented the Philly shell.Oh sure they were skilled for their time. Glad you actually agree with me. They were studied by the newer boxers who improved upon their techniques.https://youtu.be/5VLWBVpL23kHis own highlights show him making the most amateurish mistakes you could imagine.1:05 - Crossing his feet, any jab would throw him off balance and possibly knock him down1:12 - Look how fucking squared up and flat footed he is. This is almost comically bad and if his opponent was good, he would capitalize on SRRs laughable positioning1:26 - Borderline wind mill punches with no defence1:37 - Look at how fucking telegraphed this looping shot is2:16 - No comment. This is just comical in how bad it is.Old school boxers, even the famed Willie Pep, made EXTREMELY fundamental flaws in their footwork. They moved alot but they did not move well. Their feet were far too flat and far too wide in their stances and they would constantly cross their feet and square up. You simply do not see this much in modern elite boxing because it is extremely poor form and doesn’t allow you to quickly transition from offence to defence (and vice versa) as well as easily throwing you off balance with a solid jab.
>>145396339I just think looking back on there styles with the perspective you have is just counterproductive. Not many, if anyone, will legitimately argue that pre 70's fighter like SRR's did not have more holes in their game than world class guys today, so what's the point in shitting on them? If you give him videos of modern elite boxing, he can easily replicate it in an instant because he already has the conditioning to do it.
