Something very interesting has been going on in Brazil for the past ~8 years.3 different portuguese coaches came in 3 different teams and literally dominated the whole country like they were their bitches. They won the national league multiple times, they won regional leagues, they even won the equivalent of the champions league for all of south america. For that one guy, it took him like 12 months to win every trophy. For that other dude he won every trophy twice in less than 2 years. And there's another one right now who is going to win the league + the champions league with a shitty team.It's literally like conquistadors teaching the natives how to live. The fun part is all the brazilians seething about 'foreign' coaches, which takes an another dimension when they are portuguese because they resent the them for the colonization. But then, when a portuguese coach signs for their own shitty team it's like the messiah coming to save them. And the worst is, none of the major teams in Europe tried to recruit these 3 coaches, because even if they won all these trophies, they know brazilian and south america football is shit. One of them signed for a Saudi team, the other one will go back to Sporting Portugal, the last one will probably coach the Portugal national team or some shitty mid table european team. There was even an argentinian coach who won everything also recently and no major team in Europe recruited him.The whole thing is an embarassment for Brazil and SA.

brazil never had good coaches, in the past, this wasn't very evident because the talent and skill of the players made up for the teams' lack of tactics... just watch the post-match interviews of players like romario or ronaldo who openly said they didn't follow the coaches' instructions... basically our coaches were nothing more than motivational speakers... the low level of tactical organization of our coaches has only become evident in the last ten years due to the lack of skilled players we have in recent years... any foreign coach who has a good basis in coaching teams can easily do well here, the portuguese probably will do better due to the lack of language barrier
