Lets say you are officially a blue belt in Judo by IJF ranking because you left your previous Gym before getting brown belt and at your new gym you met a Japanese Judoka who has trained for 20+ years and is a 4th Dan and he gave you a Honorary Black belt what belt would you wear when returning to the current gyms that you train at? I'm worried that the instructors will be upset if I try to wear it when they know my IJF rank is still blue despite 10+ years of training and a state title so I have the points for brown and black from competition and could easily do the Kata with a little practice.
ippon the shit out of them if they cry
>>145743567reallty?
>>145743697yeah, sometimes you need to do exactly that to gain respect
>>145743702I have before. They are just really weird when it comes to gradings in Australia.Im honored to be given a belt from a Japanese but he isn't a instructor officially so I'm not recognized by the IJF
If it’s an honorary black belt, it’s not a real black belt. That’s what honorary means. Wear your blue one while you get the brown one. If you’re good enough to get the brown one, this shouldn’t be an issue for you.
>>145743458how can you only be on a blue belt after 10 years of training
>>145743458either pwn them 1on1 and assert dominance or improve your ranking like everyone else? whats the problem here i dont get it. you only have so many options

BJJ is just the ground-fighting (newaza) expansion pack for Judo. Most of the subs were already there from Judo. Judo is the origin and the best grappling art.
BJJ is Judo for brown men. It's funny how they shamelessly copy Judo newaza, and pretend they are responsible for it, that's exactly what low IQ brown men do. lol
