If a boxer is good, I like them. That's all there is to it. I may come off as anti-British, but that's only because Britan has so few decent boxers, so there's not really too many guys for me to root for outside of oh chris billam smith and oh dennis mccann. I used to like Fury more, but he's really fallen off the past few years. How can you not like Usyk if you're a fan of boxing? Fury fans never had an issue with him until they were slated to fight. I just support the fighters I think are the best, and Usyk is among the best in the sport right now no doubt.

Indeed, well informed post. The big man is a man of the people, he wants to help out his old mates and give the people what they want to see, even jeopardizing his own health.

What it all boils down to is good vs evil. The honorable British man vs the axis of evil that is Usyk and his camp. With the blessing of Christ our lord Tyson will prevail over the barbaric hordes and bring world peace. The west and east will be reunited under his protection and we will live in abundance.

And don't forget, Usyk is despised in his home country. TGK is doing them a favor by ending the Usoyk meme. There have been numerous reports detailing the persecution of Furyans in the Ukraine. Furocity, required for the sacred rituals, has been confiscated and hard to come by. Our sacred hymns, banned, there isn't a single Neil Diamond record to be found in that God forsaken land.

>heh I lost because it was uhh...too easy
Such a bizarre cope, he clearly didn't think that one through. I think part of the reason why Fury always says dumb shit in interviews is because a question catches him off guard that he never had to think about so he just comes up with some bullshit on the spot. In passing conversation with your mates that's one thing, but when you have the media on your ass you should probably hold off before just spewing nonsense. He often shoots himself in the foot with what he says but I suppose it creates publicity nonetheless.

Also I'm starting to see what Fury is saying here.

>having too much fun
>it was too easy
>I was messing around too much

This is an admission that he lost focus in the fight, something he has a tendency of doing which is why he can be doing well one moment, and then getting caught with huge shots the next. It's hard to stay switched on the entire fight, and some fighters try to lull you into a comfortable place before they have you right where they want you. I think Usyk is one of those guys because when he flips the Switch on you he really flips the Switch.

Alright readjusting.

Usyk comes in at an average 221 everytime it seems. He's got his camp down to an art. I don't expect much fluctuation from that weight if we're being honest.

Fury's max weight recently was Ngannou at 277 1/2, Wilder at 277. He was 262 against Usyk. 273ish for Fury sounds right to me. He's heavier, but not at his max heaviness. Just a guess.

the bigger the beard, the larger the insecurity. It's why Adrien Broner's beard got huge before his downfall. Anytime I see a fighter with a huge beard its a red flag. Boots Ennis, Stephen Fulton, Luis Nery, and Caleb Plant are recent examples of guys trying to protect their chins with big ass beards.

In amateur boxing you're not allowed to have a beard and that used to be the case in regular boxing until about 15 years ago or so where they started getting more lax about it and not enforcing the rules.

It's crazy how anal they are over the padding with gloves but apparently the padding of the fine horse hair beard doesn't matter at all lol.

To be fair, I think that's just a myth that beard hair protects your chin. If it does, it probably reduces the damage an insignificant amount
>>
>>146238912
Okay but when we have guys hyper analyzing the gloves and the padding before the fight, each little micro fiber counts apparently.

A lot of these gloves are literally filled with fine horse hair, but you're saying coarse padded beard hair which can get pretty thick and even spongy cant absorb ANY damage?

There's no real studies done into it either way but at BEST it still visually obscures where the chin is, making it a harder to hit target. I doubt it causes much, but glove padding can effect a lot. It might just be one or two percentage of extra padding, but in boxing you need every little advantage you can get. There's also that argument that a beard can cause less traction and cause punches to slip off the chin, but there's the converse argument that actually being clean shaven might make your face even more slippery. It's not really something you see debated about a ton these days but I'm just saying from my own observations, any guy in boxing rocking a huge beard has some kind of weak chin under there and maybe they think they can get an advantage that way. It doesn't really help them in the end.

Must have been that Brit that bashed him up the head. Not exactly an adamantium chin under there.

But those mountainous chechnyans are kind of an outlier. When I see one of them with a beard I don't necessarily think "bum beard". Because most of those guys are the real deal and don't fuck around. More of a commentary on "cocky" fighters with beards.

>maybe they think they can get an advantage that way. It doesn't really help them in the end.
That's why I think it's an urban legend. Many chinny guys seem to grow beards to protect their chins, but they always get stopped

As for the gloves, I would assume no one wants to cause a slippery slope
>>
>>146238992
That's why I see it more as a red flag than a "bro this guy is cheating what the fuck!" because it never bails them out. But I've seen a ton of dudes with huge beards that feel like they need that extra padding you feel me.

Hard to see Uysk winning unless Fury has declined big time

Uysk was losing the majority of the rounds in the middle of the fight and Fury was gaining. He was able to turn things around with the knockdown but everyone expected him to go on and dominate the rest of the fight, but that never happened. Usyk wasn't able to capitalize and the last few rounds were tit-for-tat with Fury arguably landing the bigger shots

Despite the difference in size, it was Fury who out punched Usyk and Usyk who relied on one big power shot to change things. Fury was the more consistent fighter across the 12 rounds
>>
>>146238356
the date has been set for a long time. of course there is less hype, since it's not for undisputed and the first fight didn't have a particularly controversial decision.
>>
>>146239747
it wasn't "one big power shot" though. Usyk was already hurting Fury in the previous round, breaking his nose and taking control after losing the middle rounds

Yeah, it had a good run. Is there a point in animating the rest of the series when Morikawa is going at such a slow pace though? There's a decent amount to work with, at least two seasons worth probably. There was talks of a revival but maybe the interest just isnt there, would be too high effort in the current climate
>>
>>146240178
>And how can you say he had better stamina when Fury was throwing and landing more?
Because fury could only sustain his output for 6 and a half rounds, past the midway point of round 7 he started throwing considerably less and could no longer move his feet as well due to him being tired. He wasn't able to maintain the pace that Usyk was demanding him to fight at
He did well to survive but he was still clearly bolloxed in the subsequent rounds

Fury's recovery is great, but he still got outlanded in most of the following rounds
Fury was throwing more jabs, but landing less, and much less in terms of clean power shots. look up any stats from the fight, they all support this

Fury's main weakness was his leaky defense, which allowed Usyk to land clean shots to the face since round one. he'll have to fix that tomorrow if he wants to win
>>
>>146240201
There's a lot of reasons not to animate the series sadly, one of them might be because of Morikawa's slow rate. But I mean, the manga is super far ahead so I doubt that's even an issue

I can't believe I thought fury was a defense savant all this time. It was so obvious his defense was bad for a guy of his caliber. I mean, what defensive guru gets dropped as often as he does?
>>
>>146240397
It depends on what you count as defense. In terms of just his guard, obviously it's not very good for blocking shots as he likes to keep his hands low, like Ali did. His primary source of defense is his head movement and his footwork, 2 things that seem to have declined recently (his footwork less so, he just wasn't able to move in and out past round 6 due to being tired). I'm not sure what's happened to his head movement post Fury Wilder 2, I distinctly remember him being much better at maneuvering his upper body prior to that

Because even if he brings his best, it doesn't mean it will be enough. Usyk's going to come with his own set of adjustments. Did Fury lose because he was unfocused, or did he lose because he just wasn't as good as Usyk?
>>
>>146240710
Usyk isn’t a marvel hero bro, he’s just a man. We saw Dubois knock him out.

Did we?
And here's the other thing you need to consider.
Could Fury even beat Dubois in his current state? I'm not so sure he could.
>>
>>146240774
My point is Usyk is just a man, he can be beat and he will be beat. He’s very good but he’s brittle to the body and doesn’t like swarmers.
>>
>>146240787
Fury hit him to the body and Usyk didn't drop to the ground.
Fury unloaded on him with uppercuts and Usyk didn't go down.
Usyk is just a mortal. But the fact of the matter is he's a better boxer than Fury, at least this current version of Fury. That's something Fury fans just don't wanna hear though. I'm not saying that means he MUST lose. Because you don't necessarily need to be the better boxer to win. Fury could find a way to knock him out. But that's easier said than done. Usyk is the hardest opponent Fury's ever fought, and he failed the first time. I hope he brings his A game becauase that would make the fight a lot more interesting, but I don't really believe he can pull it off. I don't doubt he'll have a few moments of success, because he's Fury. But just like AJ had moments of success in both their fights, I don't think it's gonna be enough. Usyk has shown no sign of letting up. Fury got seriously hurt and almost knocked out in the last fight. I don't think he's got an answer for any of that. But if I'm proven wrong, that will make it a much more exciting fight. I wish Fury the best, I want to see the best fight possible. But personally I just don't believe he has what it takes to beat Usyk in his current form.
>>
Still can’t get over that body shot Cucksyk pretended was low blow, absolutely pathetic faggot.
>>
>>146238869
Maybe it will be a more measured performance from Fury.
I do think Fury's best moments were timing Usyk coming in and allowing Usyk to come forward while keeping range. I don't think rushing in is going to do him any favors because Usyk isn't Wilder and he's not going to crumble the second you put him on the backfoot. Usyk is the superior backfoot fighter, but if Fury forces Usyk to come forward, Usyk will be more vulnerable. I don't think he has the stamina to do that the entire fight though without getting caught with returning fire from Usyk that seriously hurts him like last time.

Yeah some have more character flaws than others though.

Usyk has never skipped a day of hard work. Fury loves to goof off. They're built different. Usyk is disciplined. Fury isn't. Goofing off only gets you so far at the elite level. Fury's been terrified to fight a live body ever since Wlad.
>>
>>146240929
>Usyk has never skipped a day of hard work.
how do you know? because his manager says so?
>>
>>146240929
You’re literally treating him like he’s a marvel character, you’re a total sycophant.
>>
>>146240948
Because he rarely slips up and he doesn't know how to lose. He's one of the best boxers in the world and his technique is unrivaled. He's a smaller man coming up from a lower division where which he cleaned out, moved up and now is clearing a division of men much larger than him. Fury was supposed to be the best and he made him his bitch. That's how I can tell.

Meanwhile Fury comes in fat as fuck, loses to an MMA bum, and gets so drunk he can't even stand. He's a fat fuck, of course he's not as disciplined. Let's not forget how he's mentally ill, ballooned up to 400 pounds, got so depressed he wanted to drive off a cliff.

Usyk has never been that unstable. Fury has always been a bipolar nutjob. That's okay, he makes it work. But he's got a screw or two lose. Usyk is consistent. Usyk is more hard working. He doesn't fuck up like Fury has. Fury's a fuck-up, and that can only get you so far just coasting on your natural ability like that. You don't put in the work in boxing and it's gonna come back to bite you in the ass, which is why Fury ducked every live body he possibly could and stuck with easy touches. Wilder is still is second best win and the guy is a fucking BUM.
>>
>>146240961
That's nothing compared to the slurping you've given Fury based on what? What the fuck has Fury done other than embarrass the sport of boxing for the past few years? The wilder fights were entertaining at least. But you treat him like the second coming of christ and literally chug down gypsy semen like it's going out of style.

Usyk is just better. Fury's not as good as Usyk. That's all that has to be said. Anything else is cope.
>>
I hope you are ready for the GENERATIONAL meltdown when Fury absolutely heems Usoyk

What happens to the 24/7 spam if (when) Fury loses more definitively?
>>
>>146241273
If you’re a boxing fan you should want Fury to win as if he loses boxing will descend into a new dark age where no one knows or cares who the Heavyweight champ is. Usoyk winning would literally kill the sport dead. Thankfully TGK won’t allow it.
>>
>>146241273
If Tyson Fury were to lose more definitively to Oleksandr Usyk, the 24/7 media and fan engagement around Fury would likely remain intense and unrelenting. Here’s why:

Media Coverage:
>Never Off the Radar: Fury’s polarizing persona, combined with his media-savvy nature, would ensure he stays in the headlines. His post-fight interviews, potential excuses, or bold claims about a rematch would dominate coverage.
>Legacy Debates: A loss would fuel endless discussions about his place in boxing history, making him as relevant in defeat as in victory.

Fan Reactions:
>Loyal Supporters: Fury’s core fanbase would likely stay loyal, blaming the loss on anything from injuries to a bad training camp. They would call for a redemption fight or even argue he was still the "lineal champion."
>Haters' Fuel: Critics would have more material, sparking even more debates, memes, and social media banter—essentially boosting his visibility further.

Promotional Impact:
>Fight Hype Machine: Regardless of the outcome, Fury's ability to promote fights and generate buzz would keep pay-per-view sales and interviews coming. A trilogy fight or even new heavyweight matchups would still be blockbuster events.

Social Media Presence:
>Memes & Drama: Even a bad loss would likely spark a surge in Fury-related memes, hot takes, and ongoing discussions, keeping him relevant. His penchant for controversial statements would ensure his name stays trending.

In short, win or lose, the 24/7 coverage around Tyson Fury is unlikely to fade. His persona, combined with boxing’s appetite for drama and redemption stories, means he will continue to dominate the boxing conversation.
>>
>>146241306
Okay so >media engagement is going to be the official cope?

>>
>>146241320
Yes, ">media engagement" would likely become the official cope if Fury were to lose definitively. Here's how the narrative could play out:

Media Spin:
>"Win or Lose, Still the Star": Promoters and fans could argue that Fury's ability to draw headlines makes him more valuable than any title. The line might be, “The belts don’t matter—Fury is the show.”
>Controversy Creation: Fury himself could lean into his larger-than-life persona, generating new storylines through provocative comments, social media antics, or even calling out unrelated fighters.

Legacy Defense:
>“Look at the Resume”: Supporters might shift the conversation to his past wins, claiming his legacy is already secure, and one loss doesn't change his status as a generational great.
>“Everyone Loses Eventually”: Comparisons to other heavyweight legends who bounced back from losses (like Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson) would likely emerge, framing the loss as part of a broader career arc.

Fan Engagement Narrative:
>“Still the People’s Champ”: Even after a loss, Fury’s charisma and ability to resonate with fans could be framed as more important than any single fight outcome.
>“Unfinished Business”: Calls for redemption fights or even a surprise retirement-and-comeback arc could keep engagement high, ensuring the Fury media train keeps rolling.

In this scenario, losing the fight wouldn’t mean losing relevance—if anything, it might even fuel the hype machine further.

I'll be interested to see what Fury weighs in at as he looks to have lost a lot of form. I remember his dad John saying a few years back that when Tyson dropped the pounds he lost a lot of punching power. We will not fight for Hobbitsies nasty wars! No!
>>
>>146242290
It's pretty obvious the Saudis would prefer Fury to win (ties with Warren + setup for big money fights vs AJ or Dubois), but we haven't seen blatant rigging from them so far

Great photo of the dodger, looks better than usual
>>
>>146243518
Pre-cope.
>>
Hope they booked Gary Glitter for the anthem
>>
>>146243580
Cope about what, I’m sure he can beat Opetaia and Zurdo but who cares about that
>>
>>146243580
He'll have to get it all out now before he kills himself after Feary loses again.
>>
Turki wouldn’t let him go to cruiser, he only wants the biggest and best fights possible
>>
>>146243589
Just like Haye right?
>>
Weigh in started
>>146243602
Idgaf about Gaye the sausage who ducked fury twice
>>
Sad that Opetaia is fighting in a New Zealand leisure centre on a Wednesday night in January
>>
>>146243614
Mismanaged, maybe he’s just trying to stay active though
>>
>>146243614
Tyson Fury is the only boxer who can fill stadiums solely off his own name
>>
>>146243613
>Cries about Haye
Predictable.
>>
not racist or nothing but having these fights in durka durka land ruins the atmosphere
>>
>>146243640
True but It's better than them not happening at all because no one can afford it
>>
>>146243632
>idgaf about Gaye
You’re quite bad at reading aren’t you my Indian friend
>>
>>146243640
Usyk was too greedy to fight in the UK unfortunately.
>>
I like Nick Ball but he always looks like he’s covered in vaseline, maybe his bird is making him wear it or something but he needs to stop
>>
>>146243668
I think that’s just his natural scouser glow
>>
The promo video is funny as fuck
>>
>>146243653
>argues about heavyweights moving to cruiserweight
>idgaf about Haye
>starts slurping Feary for no reason
Retarded, crying, or both.
>>
>>146243745
My Indian friend I will not leave you alone
>>
Anyone can win Fury looks horrible but he is an angry monster and Usyk ended up destroyed but he looks good and is more technical.
>>
Usyk will suffer a worse fate than Wilder did against Fury. When Fury adopts his Kronk-style striking mentality, he becomes one of the most fearsome boxers ever, as we saw in his second fight with Wilder.
>>
>>146243760
Usyk was suffering from PTSD and shell shock after the first fight in the dressing room, Frank Warren said so
>>
>>146243758
No argument or anything, just retarded crying. I'd say you're the indian seeing as you can't follow basic English.
>>
The wilder fights took too much out of fury (and wilder). He can't take a punch to the head anymore. Wilder too.
>>
Johnny Bosh
>>
>>146243778
You brought up Haye for some reason when we were taking about Usyk going down to cruiserweight which had nothing to do with the discussion. Point is Usuk going down to cruiser proves nothing, is boring and pointless. All his real tests are at heavy weight, nuff said.
>>
Much of FU1 was watching jokic and luka play one on one on the perimeter.
There's no shame if Fury were to use his size. I don't know if Fury is open to changing things like angles and style. He's never met a heavyweight with Usyk's footwork before 1st fight.
Simply being more aggressive will bring some of the size advantage without having to change ot of his comfort zone.
>>
>>146243808
Right, nothing to do withheavyweight and cruiserweight, Haye, Bellew, and Usyk.
Crying retard.
>>
>>146243854
What’s the point you’re trying to make?
>>
>>146243808
There aren't any tests if he wipes out the competition at heavyweight which he will have done, then goes down to beat the new batch of Cruiserweight champions that weren't around when he was becoming champ the first time.
>>
>>146243861
I think as you remain clueless while having given you everything you need to work it out, makes my new point that you also don't know shit about boxing.
>>
>>146243768
Damn, I still remember how he came out like a machine against Wilder and took that nuclear punch and survived.

I doubt anyone who survives that would be afraid of a fight
>>
>>146243876
Do you think David Haye went back to cruiserweight or something you twat. He fought Tony Bellew at heavyweight twice. Only Bellew went back down for his last fight against Usyk. None of that has anything to do with Usyk going back to cruiserweight now you fucking retard.
>>
>>146243768
Wilder was/is a bum
>>
Fury looked really tired & worn out. He looks nervous. Usyk just stood there not blinking for 10 minutes.
>>
>>146243927
>Haye being beaten by a cruiserweight, Bellew going from beating a heavyweight twice at heavyweight, then going down to lose at cruiserweight, has nothing to do with heavyweight Usyk going back down to cruiserweight because heavyweights would always win
Crying retard. YDKSAB.
>>
>>146243959
Everytime fury said something usyk just said no it was really funny
>>
>>146243962
You still haven’t made a single point other than make connections that mean nothing. You seem very confused and upset. I’ve made my point about Usyk going down to cruiser being pointless, now do me a favour and try and explain. What. Is. Your. Point. Answer it without crying thanks.
>>
Threadly reminder: Fuck Usyk.
>>
>>146243983
>>146243962
Try reading without tears blurring your vision. See if you can possibly work it out you sub IQ crying retard.
>>
>>146222022
Was this the fight of the year?
>>
Get these midgets off my screen, get to Fury.
>>
>>146243962
Ah i see you’re trying to say because Bellew lost to Usyk that means that Opetaia could beat Usyk. I did your argument for you. Except Bellew wasn’t Undisputed heavyweight champ was he? Fucking retard
>>
>>146244008
It was robbery of the year.
>>
Prime Tyson bakhmuts Usoyk.
>>
>>146244008
Bivol Beterbiev for me but this was second

>>146244033
I wonder what the _____ of the years will be when Ring Magazine decides them all? Does Turki own that now?
>>
>>146240137
>It was a razor thin split decision
because of incompetent judging. Usyk won eight rounds easily
>>
>>146244016
Don't forget that Feary also got knocked out in 5 rounds of sparring with Jai.
>>
New
>>146244079

>>146240735
with a low blow. The only way to down him is by cheating
>>
>>146243940
It's easy to say that now that Fury has tarnished Wilder's record (and Usyk's soon). But it was Tyson Fury, and only he, who dared to stare into the abyss and take the boogeyman's zero.

>has legacy ruined by Parker and Zhang
>Wilder is now the biggest hyped bum
>also the biggest wins on Fury's record that he's pinning his whole legacy on after being knocked down by him 6 times
and Fury lost to a middleweight kek
