I can see some benefits with the Zubi-Rice-Merino midfield. They take turns joining in the attack and they have different qualities so it makes it more difficult to defend against. Our biggest issue, for me, is that every cross or pass inside the box is complete shit. We just can't make it go towards another Arsenal player. Gyökeres must be so frustrated that he joined a "better" team but no one in his new team can make a decent pass or cross. Which makes me go back to the three in midfield. Merino and Rice give height and power when we cross but their function gets completely nullified when the crosses are so bad. We looked the best when Zubimendi joined the attack because he can use his feet quick enough for tight spaces (compared to the other two).
I think Arteta is more hated than he's ever been.
