From what I see their defensive transition shape is too narrow, quite vulnerable against pacy forwards. Arsenal does similat things as Liverpool with their inverted fullback so it's like watching two identical retards butting their head against each other for 90 minutes.

pretty much. not sure of the exact phrasing but they were saying he was having pain in his ankle, then he started training on grass again, then he stopped, now they're saying he had to have some minor surgery which if they had known would be needed could have been done weeks ago but they had been trying to avoid it. bit of a mess
kolo muani is weird too he came on for 30 minutes or whatever it was after getting a bit of fitness back after not really training with psg, then we were told he had a dead leg from colliding with sarr and would be out for a match, and somehow a deadleg has been him out for multiple games now when he had missed 2 matches through injury his entire career before coming to spurs
still not sure what a dead leg even is medically sounds like an injury you get in school and you run off

they parked the bus against arsenal for the first half (not a single shot on target at home) and were very defensive second half too. the goal came from nothing and liverpool didn't look like scoring prior or after the free kick. they haven't played like that against any other opponent. just like city haven't parked the bus against anyone but arsenal. these teams are scared to death of arsenal scoring or else they wouldn't be so defensive.

Why is it that Arsenal can win zero trophies yet still entice top players to sign for them and renew their contracts. Rice rejected City for them, Zubimendi rejected Liverpool for them, Saliba rejected Real Madrid for them. Meanwhile Liverpool actually win silverware, yet they struggle to retain players like Trent and Konate, and even Salah's contract negotiations last season were extremely drawn out.

It can't just be down to money, since Liverpool and Arsenal have similar wage bills. And I can't imagine location that much of a major impact on things, considering most Liverpool players probably live in gated Cheshire communities (rather than Liverpool itself) and they're relatively close to an international airport anyway. And the Manchester clubs who have players that live in the same area don't have the same issue attracting players.

https://www.capology.com/club/liverpool/salaries
Liverpool wages: £ 3,310,000

https://www.capology.com/club/arsenal/salaries/
Arsenal wages: £ 3,490,000

That's a £180,000 difference (which still works out to the wages of 1 good PL player these days), but if you consider that Arsenal's squad is deeper and has more players that will realistically play regular minutes then that balances things out. They seem to have a similar wage structure, where star players are on £200k+ and the other regulars are between £100k-£200k. Zubimendi in particular, who rejected Liverpool, is supposedly on £75k/w only (double his previous wages). Previous reports suggested that Liverpool were going to triple them instead.
>>
>>151091669
Only Liverpool players that don't justify their wages are Ekitike and Gakpo, Arsenal have about 10 players getting overpaid
>>
>>151091701
chiesa on 150k per week is justified, really?

>>
>>151091701
Havertz and Jesus would be overpaid even if they were fit, the fact that they both have long-term injuries means Arsenal are effectively spunking half a million each week into the void at the moment. Otherwise I don't think you can say most of their other players are horribly overpaid (by the standards of a big PL team, of course).

It definitely is though. London is so much more well known to people all over the world. And even Manchester is a lot more well known compared to Liverpool. It might just be because of the dominance of Manchester clubs in the last however many years but clearly location makes a humongous difference. It's not really where it is geographically that matters (in this particular case) but how well known or popular it is as a destination.

Just been reading an old copy of the Times from 2008. They considered Per Kroldrup to Everton in 2005 be the worst signing in Premier League history. They describe the transfer as being

Slot's obsession with that PSG tie has stripped Liverpool of all their potency. He's become obsessed with apeing the PSG tactic that he's completely throwing his own team under the bus to do it. The team is full of players that a world renowned for their ability to play through the lines and instead he has them set up to where, as soon as either CB has the ball, all non-defenders just bumrush up the pitch for a long ball. There is no midfield battle. That's the problem. I mentioned it a couple posts up from yours. I don't know much about Senegal divisions yet, but it's clear that players from there are the most Africaniest looking Africans of all time. Some absolutely terrifying specimens, and all black as the blackest night. Their national squad sends a shiver through my spine.

Maybe but city probably isn't. There were loads of Syrian refugees begging in the city. I understand their plight but it's not a nice environment to be in when the UK is depressing enough as it is. Syrians are incredibly beautiful though. Green eyes, blue eyes and stuff, it surprised me.
>>
>>151099016
There's a lot of enjoyment in it too because yeah he MIGHT become good but Livercunts are probably the single worst fanbase for pointing at the player fees of other clubs and questioning them.
When they spend big it's because it's a world class player and all this so 'potential' was certainly not what they were buying
>>
>>151099242
syrians are very good looking people thats for sure
