The thing about street courses is that it takes about 2 or 3 years to get the track and the cars adjusted for really good racing and a lot of fans don't have the patience for that. Hell, a few years ago NASCAR had a dull weekend at Watkins Glen and people ITT were calling for its removal from the schedule and we have seen plenty of really great races there and almost certainly will in the future. Long Beach is a good example of a well refined street course because everyone has been running there for decades. St. Petersburg is another good example. Nashville is a good case study of a more recent example. Sure, it still wasn't perfect and the oval was instantly kino (and even better the second year, but if you look at the races year on year, they continually get better and better across all series. Ultimately, I'm glad to have them at the oval since it WAY easier to access, but I'm a bit disappointed they didn't get to refined the Nashville road course. I think Detroit is another good example. Yes, it's absolutely full of issues, but it noticeably got better from 2024 to 2025.
