GSCE history would probably be a bit more broader than KS1-3 history, I genuinely can't remember much from my school history lessons that wasn't about Britain outside of a little bit on Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome in primary school. I guess we also touched on some world history during English classes if it was required context for a particular text (e.g. Of Mice and Men and the Great Depression).

No because that fucks up GD.
In the African world cup qualifications Eritrea (yep, them again) preemptively conceded every game in their group because they were afraid that anybody they sent abroad for the qualifiers would immediately defect and seek asylum (not a joke). So the other teams in the group are getting 6 points, but they're getting no GD, which matters for the playoffs. All the group winners qualify obviously, but only one of the 2nd place teams of all the groups qualify so GD is very important for the runner-ups. Eritrea actually fucked things up for the whole of the Federation by doing this, as they had to implement a rule part way through to account for them generating a free 6 points but no GD.
Point being, if relegation or European places came down to GD, getting zero from a concession would fuck things up, especially since every team that didn't play at home would argue they would have 7-0'd them or something. Also matchday tickets revenue loss and Sky would be pissed for all the lost matches televised ect. ect.

tl;dr I know it was a joke, I just wanted to talk about the African Federation's Eritrea shitshow

I find it quite funny how Derby's points record gets talked about in the same breath as some of the other iconic PL achievements like Man Utd's treble, Arsenal's Invincible season or Chelsea's 15 goals conceded season. There's always a discussion about whether the record will ever be matched/broken when another team looks like they might get close.

Basically Villa were broke and having a shite transfer window so they got him on loan on deadline day to appease the fans. It becomes an obligation to buy if he makes 10 league appearances or something. But Unai Emery doesn't like him so they came up with the idea to permabench him so they can spend the money on something else instead.

>The Monaco midfielder has become a shareholder and ambassador for Al Haboob - the world's first professional camel racing team competing across the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf.

>Pogba, 32, told BBC Sport: "I've watched my fair share of [camel] races on YouTube and spent time doing research in my spare time trying to understand the techniques and strategies. And what stood out to me is how much dedication it takes from everyone involved. At the end of the day, sport is sport. It demands heart, sacrifice and teamwork."

Just been reading about the British transfer record progression and it's weird not see Wirtz listed. I know the deal for Isak smashed the record set by Wirtz, but I thought it would have Wirtz listed then Isak listed because Wirtz was the most expensive. Then I thought they must be doing it in some kind of mad way where only one transfer from a window is allowed.
So I checked the most expensive world transfers because I knew he was more than Felix, but he wasn't listed ahead of him either. Apparently he's the 9th most expensive. It went from a fee of €150m, to €130m, to €125m, to €120m and now it was €117.5m all along. Which puts him at £100m.
I was just wondering has there ever been a transfer with more space dust on it than the Wirtz one?

I know someone is bound to mention the Darwin deal, but I think this can be put to bed. The price wasn't a record despite the reports. It was £64m base and ~£21m in add ons. Those add ons were made up of things like £4.3m after 10 appearances, £8.5m after 60 appearances, both of which he obviously triggered so that's £12.8 minimum. Taking the fee to £76.8m. Then there were things like X amount of goals scored, winning the title, winning the CL etc for the remaining £8.5m and he almost definitely triggered the goals scored amount and definitely triggered the title win addon which takes the figure to somewhere around ~£80m.
So while yes he definitely was more expensive than VVD who was the record transfer for the club, the Darwin transfer doesn't count because it just doesn't.

It's just all a bit mad because I can't see any of this copenomics with any other club. Only Liverpool.
Why is that?

The only one that I’ve seen close is the Haaland deal not showing the £50m that his agent and Dad got. The thing is the money is still on the club accounts so it is still there for the rules. Fans can only screech loud enough to get it removed from transfermarkt and similar sites.

But it's usually a shit player who isn't worth the money, not one of England's brightest young talents off the back of singlehandedly winning an international tournament, played for the current league champions and will only cost 30 million. I think Unai Emery and him have some history from a previous meeting. Must have sniggered at him in the tunnel at Anfield or something.

>>
Villa are a dodgy corporation in cahoots with Newcastle and City
>>
>>152446298
Duran was a well known head case and the Saudis thought money would make him behave. There’s a reason Villa let him go instead of Watkins.
>>
>"We are speaking with him and about his situation. He is not here with us," Emery said when asked about Elliott on Wednesday.

>"First, my decision and also the situation. He is on loan playing with us, but he is not definitely adding to us with a permanent contract.

I think the one thing we can all agree on is that Liverpool customers are forcing out the greatest player they've ever had because he hasn't scored for a couple of matches.
This ranks up there with aw forcing out Wenger, the greatest manager his little club have ever had.

Yeah nobody had noticed Liverpool dropped last season's player of the year until he opened his stupid mouth
>>
Chelsea are a very weird club. Usually with a big club (e.g. Man United or Liverpool), both the praise after a win and the criticism after a draw/loss are amplified massively. And with smaller clubs, they often get overlooked by the media regardless of whether they're doing good or bad. With Chelsea, the praise they get after a win is huge (e.g. people calling Caicedo the best midfielder in the world, calling Cole Palmer a Ballon d'Or contender), yet there is complete silence when they have a bad performance. They somehow manage to have the best of both worlds.
>>
>>152458871
Maybe he should reflect on why he's been dropped and not blame everyone else.
>>
>>152458892
Maybe everyone else should reflect on how Liverpool won the Premier League at a canter just a few months ago with Salah in the team

What a surprising take from Carra
>>
>Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked about a number of players that are currently on the sidelines.

>On William Saliba: "We have to wait and see. He hasn’t trained with us yet. Let’s see if he can be available."

>On Jurrien Timber: "It depends how he feels today. It's a matter of days but whether it's tomorrow or not we will wait and see."

>On Declan Rice: "Let’s see how he is today. He was ill, normally in a few days it gets resolved but we have to wait to see how far he can push."

>And finally, on Leandro Trossard: "Another one that is a matter of days. Sounds boring but that is the reality so we don't know."

Might as well have just said "No comment" to every single name put to him.

in Greekland, we have a channel on a premium cable service connected to our phone bill that plays Bond movies 24/7 and i've seen his two movies the most after Casino, so i think he's a great choice. maybe some of my britbros may disagree but i think roger moore is the weakest Bond and I always skip his movies. i like dalton, brosnan and craig. but not the rest.

Gareth Southgate would be a great choice for Manurine and you cannot deny this. No, ManU should not have a ROBERTO RODRIGUEZ EL AMOR manager like some midtable shitter team. It should have an English/British coach. End of story. Ruben Amorim is a disgrace. He plays safe but efficient football and that's what >we need right now, not EL CABRON meme tactics. thoughts?

its controversial but i agree about roger moore. i believe he reversed the series into an alleyway that it will take years to get from if at all. he's the funniest bond (he can read off one-liners much much better than dalton for example - also moore contributed a few adlibs that were kept in), but at the end of the day he was a TV actor who was appointed simply to steady the ship after cubby nearly fucked it all up by giving the job to an unknown australian "actor" he saw in an advert once, who in turn completely bit the hand that fed him. so moore (who was older than connery) wasn't picked because he was first choice (even dalton was considered first choice in the late 1960s but turned down the offer) but because he was a low effort safe choice for the role.
i like craig. brosnan's only really good one is goldeneye.

Callum seems to be one of the ones mentioned for it but I'm not sure he's conventionally handsome enough given their usual choices. I tried to see if there were any more solid rumours but the guesses so far seem to be narrowed down to "literally any male actor you might have heard of"
