They lost 2 points instead of 3. A third of their points they got back. That's a great result for us.

As I said, this is the beginning of games where they're against teams with something to play for. Good teams that want european football. This is a very good sign. We took +3 goal difference from Fulham. They are now -4 on arsenal.

West ham have a 5W-4D-8L record at home. Sure they can beat anyone but they've struggled to do so most of the time. They would probably need a great amount of luck too. That game is the decider anyway IMO but it's not a 50/50.

This changed nothing btw. We still have to win every game. At worst we can afford another draw now and it goes to GD again but we never wanted that in the first place. So the assignment hasn't changed and a loss is still fatal, West Ham away will still be an incredibly difficult game.

This is the final time Ill say this, if we win that game, the league is done. Weve fumbled literally every other potentially league deciding game this season (Sunderland away, Aston Villa away, Liverpool at home, City away etc.), so I wont hold my breath. That being said, this is a golden opportunity and I hope the players recognize this

This is a midwit statement when you think about it for more than 2 seconds. Arsenal are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. They're easily one of the best defensive teams in the world.

Pep was on the rocks most of that game. He wasn't animated and driving the players on. He looks done. The team has so much quality but they seem to struggle to mesh together. It often comes to individual brilliance.
>>
>>154521889
I don't think Pep knows his defensive structure.
Guehi and Khusanov is not a partnership. Khusanov doesn't know how to communicate. If Ruben Dias was there with him they'd be a lot better

>>154521898
>Khusanov

This guy is a bit of a cunt. They both seem inconsistent. They clearly want to play by controlling possession on the edge of the opposition box. Only really works when you get an early goal. They had the defenders up on the opposition box like we see Gabriel do occasionally. But you're playing a strong counter attacking side, your attack and midfielders need to pick up the slack and do their job so defenders can stay back. They could easily have lost if everton were more clinical.

I think if this was a previous city side, they have the ability to still win the league. But these players don't gel as well I think. A lot of inconsistency and stupid mistakes. Poor communication. This run in isn't the same as the previous ones. It's certainly advantage arsenal.

And he'll get the fourth and break the record for most consecutive next year. We're far superior in defence to the rest of the PL and Alisson is crocked. No one's going to challenge him next season either.
It's now just about how many he'll have by the time he leaves. I could genuinely see him ending up with 6 or 7.

>>
>>154522937
True. 5 wins away from eternal glory.
>>
>>154522936
It isn't either or type situation. They're both independent. Potentially 2 games left for the UCL. All they need to do it win tomorrow and they can forget about it, 6 days after palace. There's time to rest and think about the match. All they have in the league is 3 games. 3 relatively easy games. Two of which are in the relegation spot, one of which is at home against a relegated team. Palace might be touch and go, Doubt it. This isn't even taking into account city's hellish run in. FA cup final and games against teams with a lot to fight for.

If they fuck the league up, it will be a terrible terrible season on that alone.

Not him but I enjoy some of the stuff they do. Cundy and O'Hara are fun. It's just banter. Sometimes callers are hilarious and do skit larps.
>>
So arsenal are shopping for a striker? I wonder if that's a havertz replacement. He's always injured and he's quite shit when he isn't. Gyokeres is brilliant when they play attacking football. Unless they're thinking of playing 2 up front, no need to get another striker without selling someone.

No chance we’re getting a striker. We need another wide forward though. I think it’s time we offload Martinelli
>>
>>154524484
>>154525129
Ornstein mentioned it like 6 weeks ago

Berta/Arteta want a top LW first, meaning one or both of Trossard/Martinelli (both expire in 2027, with Martinelli having a club option) will be going out, with PSG wanting Martinelli, likely as a backup to Dembele.

Then they want a striker, also likely first to replace Gabriel Jesus (contract expires in 2027 outright), but with Havertz injuries the past 18 months might be to take his minutes too. Although we might just put Merino up top as 3rd choice striker.

Then a midfielder. Arteta wants another Zubi type player rather than say a Norgaard (contract ends in 2027 with club option), but that's a fluid situation given that we plan to move MLS back to midfield, likely in that LCM role. Plus hopefully we retain Nwaneri and we begin to ramp up Dowman minutes too.

Finally a RB to replace Ben White. Obviously he gave it his all when Timber went down his first year and Tomiyasu was never healthy, but it's time to move on. And with MLS into midfield, the plan will be like last summer when we failed to get Hato, which is another LB/CB hybrid, especially given Calafiori can't stay healthy.

>>154522057
Mourinho was the last one (and only one) who bested Pep in a title race in 2011/12. Barca lost the El Clasico leaving Real Madrid 7 points clear with four matches to go.

According to google AI. Same AI tells me that Pep Guardiola lost the title race in 2025/26 against Arsenal.

Man City has never lost a close title race since they got funded by the middle east.

>>
>>154528472
As we mentioned above. It was the first time Pep choked since 2011/12 and the first time Man City choked in this position since Abu Dhabi. A momentous choke for City if Arsenal manage to grab it from their hands. Especially after Man City has tried to put Arsenal as mentally weak and eternal chokers. Momentous.

I'm not getting anything done at work today.

Yes I know I shouldn't mention the P word but I have to begin work on the logistics. From what I gathered, tonight's result will determine the date of the parade: the 25th if we lose (bank holiday) or the 31st if we win. Then the following weeks will decide whether a parade will actually happen.
Can anyone confirm or am I missing something?
>>
Don't support Arsenal, but damn it's looking good for you guys.

Wet Spam might be slightly tough, but winning that and it's ogre.

Burnley will be rolled over by Arsenal and pad the goal difference in case of a Wet Spam draw (if not Arsenal don't deserve to win if they someone lose or draw vs a relegated team)

Crystal Palace look like they'll be in the Conference League final which takes place 3 days after the Arsenal game - they'd be stupid to play their best team vs Arsenal if there is no relegation risk at that point.

Meanwhile Man City have to play Brentford and Bournemouth teams that are in form and have a chance to be in the Champions League

If Aston Village keep dropping points even their last game vs City might be pivotal to them - especially if they don't win the Europa League
>>
>>154528462
Guardiola wasn't managing city that season though. This will potentially be the 2nd time pep has lost a title race and the 1st at city.
>>
>>154528541
The spanners have been very inconsistent. They are a threat from corners and counters. Both we're effective at defending. We showed good flowing counter football against Fulham. 1-0 to arsenal. Burnley will be a strong 3-0 or 4-0 statement. Palace should be a good 3-1 win. I very much see city losing points in the run in after Everton. Pep looks done with it all. It'd be nice to win the league at the Emirates against Burnley but that opportunity is out of arsenal's hands.

Massive from Everton. Always loved that club. It's probably my second favourite. They put in a shift with great entertaining football. Top club, hope to see them bounce back next season and get european football, they thoroughly deserve it.
>>
>>154528558
I know. I just wanted to point out that both Guardiola and Man City as a team rarely/never loses title races. So if we win Arteta would have done something few other managers has done (Mourinho the only one).
>>

>After their draw at Everton, City's maximum points tally this season is 83. Arsenal are currently on 76 points - so they know three wins from their final three games will clinch the title.
>The Gunners' goal difference is also four better than City's, giving them a slight edge there as well. There is a scenario where Arteta's side could win the league as early as Wednesday, 13 May.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the ticket situation has changed drastically since 2013, you have absolutely no chance of getting a ticket for any of our remaining games of the season now. 100% agreed on the parade though. Bloody brother in law is getting married in the middle of nowhere the day of the UCL final so I would have to escape in the middle of the night to get a taxi to an airport but there's no way I'm missing it, whatever it takes.

We just look strictly on performance though so if he’s getting caught at the edge of our box, multiple times, back to the opposition he will get called out. Him being tired is down to Arteta. Miles playing gave us more chemistry and fluidity. Which of course helped with Eze not being a pussy like ode.
Reminder we have been playing shit all season. Apart from like maybe 5 games I can remember. Both the Leeds and spurs games and Fulham (with 45 minutes against Villa.)
Start miles instead of zubi for the rest of the league campaign. We need goals and we need to attack.
>>
Wow, not sure about MLS starting. Yeah good performance on Saturday but he's been dreadful all season it's a big risk
>>
Same as Fulham I think but Ødegaard and Kai on the bench
>>
>>154530618
that's on arteta tho is it not?
he overplayed zubimendi, and still he's done decent under all that pressure. got some mistakes but still really well rounded player.

I agree with you. Zubimendi, unless injured or tired, should be playing in these types of games. In the prem, play MLS, especially against bottom tier teams. It's putting way too much pressure on the kid imo
>>
>>154530640
FUCK ME THE MADLADS ACTUALLY GOING FOR IT
>>
I see people talking about MLS, but no one mentioning Hincapie being dropped when he was bossing the defense last week. Calafiori is a huge liability defensively...I reckon this match will have lots of goals in it, but it's crazy that lego head has decided the 2nd leg of a CL as when to release the handbrake.

we're at home and have to score, makes sense going with an offense-oriented squad. hope we don't get pumped on the counter tho
>>
How are we feeling ITT before The Inevitable later tonight, lads.

>>154528896
Reckon it's cope.
City are not a "real" club, they're an oil money franchise 115-ing their way to success, so their domination is not seen as organic and genuine and thus not counting against Manu/Liv claims.
Sure, Artetasenal spent a billion, but who doesn't spend big nowadays. Sure, Arse been lacking not so long ago, but it's hard to stay up top forever, just like the two know very well. If City wins, it's just that they won again. But if someone else does it, why couldn't we?
At least that's how I'd see it. But then again, what do I know...

>>154521346
Didn't do it last season and neither back in 15/16, so no.
>>
>>154530640
When was the last time >we got to put out the exact same XI as the previous game? Feels like basically every single game has had at least one change, be it for injury reasons or form reasons. Must have been game 2 and 3 or something, right?
>>
You guys know this means Odeshart, Shitvertz, Shartinelli and Madookie are starting against West Ham right?

Always felt that way too. Honestly that's how I felt with a lot of arsenal players in the wenger era. The fact they were consistently 4th and got FA cups is impressive. Players were really not that good, especially if you look at the mid table prem sides now.

Drossard is my only concern. Every 5 matches he'll come through with one moment. Otherwise he's a net negative. Shows nothing. No danger or pressure. Just simple passes and lost posession.

They REALLY need to stop this passing around at the back bollocks. Every time it's getting countered by high press and ends in a stint of heavy pressure. Get the fucking ball forward, if you lose it you could win it back in midfield.
>>
>>154531523

what i dislike is that we rarely make a shot on target during our attack phsae. make some space and believe ur good enough to bang one

>>154531550

>>
>>154531531
Always one step forwards, three steps backwards. Pass around the back, draw out players, but then fucking do nothing with the extra space. Just hold onto the ball until they close in more and more and force you to make a mistake. It's such fucking basic shit and >we manage to get it wrong every fucking game seemingly.
>>
i cant watch this nervy playing out the back for 90 minutes man
>>
Has Ben Shite been told not to complete a single pass or something?
>>
>>154531531
Almost every week in the PL at least one team concedes a goal from doing this. I can understand the benefits but the risk is so fucking high. One bad touch or one bad pass and it's going to be an open goal. It barely works at the best of times, and most of the time they get rushed so hoof it up the pitch to clear it anyway. I fucking hate it.
>>
are they defending like bitches against us

>>154531564
