Yeah, I'm thinking we'll be taking Mason Greenwood, Nico Paz, Igor Thiago, and either Yan Diomande, or Abde Ezzalzouli. They will be useful in our title defense next season.

It's strange because he is so uncoordinated with everything he does but blessed by God so it all works out. The goal he should have scored today was a 1 on 1 that he hit straight at the keeper, the goal he did score was a header that hit the crossbar, went downwards into the keepers hands and then into the goal

There's a documentary series on BBC iPlayer right now about Gareth Southgate's time as England manager. They've done a great job at casting him. Starting the 2nd episode later but so far it makes me feel sorry for him in hindsight.

I think he was good for England but shouldn't have been the manager. He would be excellent as a guy who works with the manager.

The concept of Enzo Fernandez is better than the actual player

When you watch Chelsea you see him regularly get dominated by mid to lower table premier league midfielders. cant win 50/50s, can't keep up with their pace, constantly miss hits passes constantly makes the wrong decision. He's slow to make decisions often missing opportunities to attempt a line breaking pass. Against actual elite competition like PSG? it's outright embarrassing. Take away the occasional blooter and he's the personification of average.

He did do well but the conclusion i came to was, he just didn't have the tactical ability. I really like how he brought the lads together. People do forget that in past, especially with the "Golden Generation", the players didn't like each other and it showed.
>>
>>154839609
We were 3 kicks from ending decades of hurt and he thought it was a great time make sure some jungle bunnies got the headlines. He will answer for these crimes when Restore come to power.

>>
>>154839705
In complete fairness, at the time Rashford was considered an excellent penalty taker. He's the only one I was hurt by seeing him miss. I had faith in him.
>>
I don't know if I'm coping or not but surely West Ham are gonna walk the Championship? all I'm hearing right now is pessimism like we're gonna do a Leicester which seems ridiculous to me, gap between the leagues is so huge and we're gonna hold onto a lot of our current players. Max Kilman will probably be one of the best CBs in the league and he's been utter gash this season. we'll also have first dibs on all the best signings. and will almost certainly be hiring promotion specialist Scott Parker. could be a fun season.
>>
>>154839742
West Ham will be alright. They were bad by Premier League standards but the gap between them and the Championship is still vast.
>>
>>154839727
But that's not why he picked him and the other two is it? They're professional footballers, the penalty isn't the hard part.
>>
>>154839339

Sometimes I watch these players and I sit confused because they're failing to do really basic stuff. Then I realise that they're elite footballers and be confused evermore.
>>
>>154839672

i may be wrong but I feel like that's the most important part of international football, in such a small sample there's only so much you can do tactically
>>
>>154839861
Wait til you find out their wages and how much they're babied by their clubs to the point their entire life is like receiving a blowjob.
>>
Match of the Day have awarded Goal of the Season to Harry Wilson! The public vote brought it to Szoboszlai, Reed, and Wilson. Then Shearer and Rooney decided the #1.
>>
>>154839672

>>154839824

>>154839863
It's a large part of cultivating players that will give their all for a team. The problem was that in the tense moments Southgate wouldn't make necessary changes until it was too late. He was also defensive to a fault. England had Italy on the ropes in the Euros final but he gave the order to defend a 1 goal lead.

I'll be honest the bit where Garef was walking around saying we finished 9th, 12th etc at the world cup wound me up, classic tv football drama nonsense. Still going to watch the rest of it though. Pleasantly surprised they got real footage in but I guess BBC has the rights to it.

Missed this from this afternoon:

>The confirmation of our relegation from the Premier League today marks a sad and painful moment for West Ham United.

>The Club wishes to sincerely thank every single one of our supporters for the constant and loyal backing they have given, throughout what has been an extremely difficult and disappointing season.

>Ultimately, we have not repaid that support. The plain truth is that we have not been good enough. We must now face the consequences of that failure with honesty, transparency and a determination to repair, refocus and rebuild.

>West Ham United is a football club whose unique identity is defined not by success or failure on the pitch, but by the values and traditions of our roots in east London, and by the spirit of the people who have Claret and Blue in their hearts. The Club acknowledges how challenging this season has been for them and knows it must take steps to restore a sense of pride, faith and belief.

>As we have done before, we will fight with everything we have to return to the top division of English football at the first time of asking. The hard work to make that goal a reality begins immediately.

>XCL | Chelsea’s internal valuation for Enzo Fernandez has been set at £130M minimum, and that figure is non-negotiable regardless of how summer plays out.

>Real Madrid are aware of the number. Sources indicate a formal approach is expected within days of the window opening. The agent relationship with Javier Pastore remains fractured after his public criticism of the club, complicating negotiations from Chelsea’s side.

>BlueCo want the money recycled immediately into Xabi Alonso’s rebuild. Fernandez himself has not pushed for a move since the suspension, but the trust is gone internally. #CFC

>In 2018, a semi-serious campaign was launched by Twitter user, Jonny Sharples, to get a photo of Harry Maguire on a unicorn to be used as the image for the then-new £50 note. The petition accumulated over 50,000 signatures before wartime hero Alan Turing was chosen instead.

>"Over 50,000 people signed the initial petition back in October so I believed Harry and the unicorn were in with a good chance despite the frankly draconian selection criteria such as ‘must have contributed to the field of science’, ‘must be deceased’ and ‘can’t be an inflatable unicorn’," Sharples said of the decision to snub Maguire.

man united fans' ball knowledge genuinely sucks. i remember debating other man united fans if dalot (who at that time was being loaned to milan because he barely got gametime and he was permacrocked before being a steel man he is now) and they kept saying naahhh, AWB is better, and even if AWB didn't become better we got an even better potential in Ethan Laird (now languishing in Birmingham's bench).

the amount teams are allowed to spend used to be a flat rate and now the amount is tied to a percentage of the revenue your team generates, meaning teams with less revenue (mid table) won't be able to spend as much

at least that's my understanding of it I could be wrong
>>
>>154846116
Most of them will find they are already at the 85% of revenue SCR limit. Going over the limit is allowed but incurs a luxury tax that teams who don’t breach will get to split. If you push into a non-CL European spot you then have to suddenly sell a bunch of players. If everyone spends to catch up the top just gets further away.

Genuine question, how many more decades of the "West Ham made the wrong choice by firing Moyes" gimmick do we have left? Not only is it not true (they offered him a contract) but he sucks, he's always sucked and he will continue to suck. In a season where the premier league had eight European spots, after the club he manages found extra money for transfers from selling their womens team to themselves, in a new fancy stadium, good momentum and they still managed to miss out on all their goals. The issue was NOT getting rid of him, the issue was literally everything that came afterwards!

It goes overlooked that they were nearly relegated by him the season they won Conference League. Then, despite a bright start to the season after, after Christmas they nosedived so hard they broke a record for goals conceded (despite playing defensive football). It's only because the rest of the league was crap that season they still finished 9th. That was when Moyes left (after getting his new contract offer pulled because he lost 5-0 like 2 weeks in a row)

The problem's always been the ownership, Moyes could only do what he could with the shit he had, but watching them be slow and dull, then still get battered was fucking dreadful. Thankfully, Gold died and Brady's fucked off so it's just Sullivan to get rid of now

good luck with that contract though
>>
>>154846812
Chelsea were ahead of United when Enzo was sacked/resigned and then the season derailed but ultimately yes Man United finished higher in the table than Chelsea. But in the year before that United finished 12th and Chelsea 4th.

my point is I'm not concerned with the most reason season I'm more interested in what you could expect or what you think is likely in the future based on their squads. Maybe it's closer than I originally thought but I still think Chelsea has a better team than United. Also idk why I would ignore the fact that United were playing once a week, we're not in a vacuum.
>>
also I'm not even a Chelsea fan either so you can relax and stop just scrambling to think of bad things to say about Chelsea

Serves them right for trusting the Eternal Geordie. One day, EPL teams will cotton on to the face that Newcastle Players will only ever perform well at Newcastle. Every single time another team comes calling with an inflated transfer fee, the player leaves (Carrol, Isak) and goes on to do absolutely fuck all with themselves after the money comes through. They’re not a real team with real players, they’re a poisoned chalice trying to offload their memes for record fees.

What more is there to discuss about it that hasn't already been discussed?

Has to be their worst season since returning to the PL 9 years ago. And I include the Bruce seasons in that; at least people expected Ashley-ran Newcastle to be shite.

>Eddie Meme's player favouritism and tactical naivety exposed in pretty much every competition they played, peaking with a run of 3 wins in 12 league games at the start of the year that included eliminations from all the cup competitions, with the worst being the rape in Barcelona

>truly abysmal transfer window (was Thiaw the only worthwhile signing of the lot?) yet it appears Howe has somehow managed to get himself even further embedded into the Newcastle hierarchy

>not only losing to Sunderland once through an OG BUT taking the lead in the home game AND THEN LOSING THAT ONE; the 6 point swing from those fixtures was what guaranteed Sunderland Europa League football for the first time ever

I would be surprised if Newcastle next season are any different to this one to be honest, and that's without European football this time.

I think United are more than 4 signings away. Aside from Bruno and the goalie, every other position in their starting 11 can be improved upon. Compare that with Arsenal, which they should be as they are the title winners, they have 7 positions in their starting 11 which can't realistically be improved upon (goalkeeper, entire back line, rice and saka).

Although United fans would probably throw a fit when being compared to Arsenal.

>>
>>154847708
deffo... those 4ish are just to not roll back down out of the CL and start all over again

they need to bank this season, get the signings in and pretty much hold onto top 4 next with the extra games and shit squad and go from there - they aren't winning the CL so should just prioritise top 4/league improvement

but they'd never accept that and still pretend the last few seasons haven't happened
>>
>>154847599
Why are you pretending the PGMOL isn't corrupt? Especially after a record breaking season for the title winners? And that's not even getting into Coote being blackmailed or Clattenberg admitting they'd cheat in Fergie's favour.
>>
Kek bruno's final assist was actually an own goal since it came off the post then bounced off the keeper's gloves. If the PL had any balls, they'd rescind it and bring his total back to 20, but they made such a song and dance about him breaking the record that they'll look silly if they track back now. So he's going to be allowed to keep it, although everyone should add an asterisk next to it whenever it's discussed for the sake of integrity.

Arsenal was pretty neutral among the refs this season. They didn't much help but they didn't get fucked much either.
