I understand your point, but I don't think it's for me. Afaik, mtg cards don't come in many rarities (at least it was like this when I played it), and this makes high-rarity cards (mythic/secret cards) expensive while leaving the player without any alternatives.
I can agree with a model like this if the ultra/secret slot is just a rarity upgrade like in the OCG.
And just to be clear, my opinion comes from me not caring about always losing money when buying boxes. Afaik, it's the case for OCG

I can't speak for it but I can give you this advice. You can look up "triple [name] structure deck deck list" on google and find lists if you just want to build from the contents in box. If you want to go beyond that look at lists on YGOPRODECK and find one that works.
If you want to reduce the cost you can then post the deck list here and someone will likely help point out what expensive staples can be swapped for cheaper staples to bring the price down.
They've gotten some support since that SD released so expect to want to buy some singles. I do know they released DW Corridor after which is an insane card for the archetype, $4 each.

the good cards are all pointed and the Danger engine is also pointed. The only good Dark World name that was untouched was Broww and then people started playing it as a generic draw engine and they pointed it too.

Your best bet is playing in Standard and go for the Silva hand loop

They semi limited ash blossom in both OCG and OCG-AE, MD and TCG are likely next, it's over.

Hope you all enjoy seeing the opponent shotgun 1-2 mulcharmies on your turn, and losing because you either passed turn on s:p (which still gave them 2-4 draws) or a empty board.

I expected they would start phasing out Ash as soon as they printed the Dominus handtraps but the surprising thing is they also semi'd impulse on the same list. So now I have no idea what they're thinking.

The /btg/ is dead! Long live the /btg/!

Can't show POV of being taken bondsman by a Clan Jade Falcon Aerospace Phenotype on this board.

Its a shame that program isnt known to the great houses. Now that they are starting to manufacture clan tech one of them might have an interest continuing the bimodal research.
>>
>>97226656
They would. Out of all the factions they are the #1 candidate to revive the LAM and give it all the modern weight saving improvements that it missed out on for 400+ years. The ideal phenotype will just be a new one that operates only in fighter and airmech modes while ditching full mech mode. CGL isn't stupid, they know that these are their options for reviving it if they decide to one day.

>>97226571
>"What can this machine do that an Aerospace fighter in a similar situation couldn't?"
It can land and hold ground. A hypothetical flotilla carrying 100 mechs and 100 fighters will be outnumbered both in space or on land by a flotilla with 200 LAMs. Only problem of course is that this is Spheroid thinking rather than Clan.
>>

The amount of people who are somehow unable to recognize that he meant to say "raising" and obviously just made a typo is astounding. "Raiding" isn't even grammatically correct in the context of the sentence. If CGL really thought that poorly of DFA I highly doubt they would've given them the courtesy of just telling them "hey, just remove all direct references to our IP and relaunch your Kickstarter and it'll all be cool"

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

Examples:
A fuel depot full of oil drums. The drums generally don't explode when shot, and provide substantial cover. But once they have been shot, they start to leak, making the ground slippery and causing every spark to risk igniting the spilled fuel.
An old mine. Metal carts and tunnel walls offer cover, but heavy fire or explosives can cause cave-ins, everything is dark, and some areas have dangerous build-ups of methane.
A fight from moving vehicles. Other vehicles can provide cover, or be unacceptable risks. All kinds of obstacles and hazards can suddenly appear.
A shootout in the lower decks of a ship. Once bullets start flying, punctures in the hull are inevitable and the entire area will be flooded with water (probably not realistic, but it's Action!)

Depending on how good a swimmer you are (and where you are), that might be survivable. People have swum longer distances than that in the sea.
How do you know where you are? Did you have time to get a GPS reading before the water wrecked your phone? Waterproof smart-watch?
Your immediate problem is that unless you can navigate be the stars / sun or have some kind of water-resistant GPS-enabled device, you don't even know which direction to swim in.

Martial Pathers, how does your build fare in outdoors settings? When they have to rough it, which they may need to do in expeditions to the Ghost Domain.

Not that I'm much of anything but a fraud, but Tsolmon has absolutely no problems living outdoors. Until he left the tribe, he'd never been in a permanent structure in his life.

Linghao is relatively good at survival, or at least he's good at some parts of survival. He can hunt down beasts, and survive temperature shifts. Eating beasts could trigger unwanted evolutions tho, so he prefers bringing food from home in his storage treasure to have a safe alteranative instead in case he finds nothing beneficial. He likes exploring, be it nature or otherwise, so he at least is used to it even if not as good as someone that lives like that.
I just realized his insight would make him surprisingly good at survival, because having instinctual knowledge of evolution means knowing what defense mechanisms creatures evolved, like poison and such. Insights are supposed to grow, so he's not perfect at it yet, and he would rather not risk it for now, so he doesn't use it unless he really wants something for cultivation purposes.

Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy?
>A world rocked by cataclysm
>landscapes filled with chaos and wonder
>mage storms
>An enduring mystery; what happened, and what happened in the intervening centuries?
>An atmosphere of hope and renewal, as heroes rise, and mysteries are investigated.
>Darkness and evil await in corners and ruins, like pools of dank water waiting for the sun
>the brink of a New Age
Interesting setting? What elements would you include?

>I'm autistic enough to enjoy strange sky charts with timing for when there's enough light at night to travel safely and base actions on that.
I can't take full credit. The idea was heavily inspired by Dragon's Dogma, which also does not have a moon*, but does have a single sun. Weird shit occurs in seas and oceans as a result (the Brine). And nights will ACTUALLY reach pitch black often, especially in dense forests (exceedingly rare in vidya). Managing a lantern and some other light sources is a common mechanic, of course. Gameplay often revolved around resting for the night so you could leave first thing in the morning. https://youtu.be/NrCiV4LOYk4 gives a perfect glimpse of what I'm striving for.

*There actually is a moon, but it is not visible. In DD1, it was originally planned for the player to go to the moon itself, but they didn't have time. In DD2, the moon is visible in some pre-release footage, but not in the actual game.

I was going to say "Sensou Kyoushitsu / The Bugle Call: Song of War" but I realized that's probably actually not post-apocalyptic fantasy, but rather a time travel fantasy in which humans from the year 10,000 interfere in medieval europe to secure military victories using magiscience in the past to effect the future.

All those games you listed aren't even RPGs. The hell are you even ranting about now?
>A story isn't necessary to make decisions for a character who isn't oneself, so a story never needs to go beyond what's directly associated with resolving the game's challenges through the abilities of the character as chosen by the player who isn't that character.
Then the story is optional? Alright, sure. Then what's wrong with having a story? And furthermore, what's wrong with discussing them? Your entire point is:
>Storytelling isn't necessary.
Yet go:
>We shouldn't talk about storytelling.
Christ anon, you even defended your precious general by going
>half of it is worldbuilding discussion

It’s because Rapeape is too busy posting about culture war shit on twitter (while being paid 5k a month) to actually hire someone to patch up this website. The hack revealed that the code for this place has barely changed since moot sold it in the 2015. PDFs are not coming back because rapeape doesn’t care. Instead he implements babies first IQ-tests for the new captcha that has already been broken by auto solve anyway. PDFs are not coming back, rapeape must be replaced as the head mod of this site if shit is ever gonna improve but he won’t and any attempt at calling him out always results in mods nuking the thread eventually. Sad really, he’s an incredibly lazy man.

I kind of like the thought of northern Italian dwarves. Think renaissance Italy but instead of city states you have dwarf holds. Medicis banking system is just the interhold banking clan now expanding to accept human deposits/accounts and this break in traditional exclusion causes a chain of events that leads to dwarfs now being in every major city across the continent. Or some crazy dwarf inventor goes too far and invents something destabilizing, like an automatic hammer which threatens the junior smithing and smelting guild positions leading to social unrest. Maybe the dwarf hold that mimics Venice just does Venetian things and therefore drives the entire campaign itself?

I really like Italian renaissance dwarves.

>>97223710
Lots of Renaissance stuff also fits in with dwarves. They would absolutely get insanely into marble sculpture, they would absolutely carve an operahouse into the mountainside just because the acoustics are peak.
