>>97261877Early Succ is mostly just Star League but also there are Jenners and Hermes II. And every match should end with a nuke going off in the direct center of the map, if the players aren't cowards.
>>97261813The Pilots Federation doesn't have any magical means to stop you. It's just that certain systems are locked out of the nav computer. If you hack the nav computer and either bring about an interstellar incident or fuck around with protected alien life, that's when you're in hot water. I think the most notable incident of someone actually getting got involved that person not only pissing off the PF, but also directly spitting in the face of the setting's Illuminati equivalent. They do get spooky, though. Because behind the PF is very likely the true Dark Wheel, which is a mystic secret society dedicated to protecting whatever Raxxla actually is.So it's not exact, but it's close in the purpose.
>>97261890Was nuke that common and widely available that it could be thrown at lance vs. lance battle and stuffs?
>>97261742What? No, reading comprehension.Falcon was all spaceX. NASA estimated it would have been ten times more expensive for them to develop the falcon series compared to what it actually cost spaceX. It cost spaceX 390 million and NASA estimated their own attempt at something equivalent would have cost 4 billion.

People around you won't say it for the sake of propriety, but we are all anon here so I have no problem telling you that you will lose years of your life if you do not make serious and permanent lifestyle changes. You can do it.
>>97260459Reread the thread. That sentiment was expressed many times over even if not in those exact words.
For Christmas my mother, knowing I like TTRPGs but am slightly intimidated by the idea of mini painting, bought me a bunch of miniatures that are really cheap and shitty so I could practice my first paint jobs.I consider it the most thoughtful she's ever been about one of my hobbies, generally she'd just kind of let me do my own thing and didn't really care about what I'm doing in my free time as long as I was staying out of trouble.I baked her fresh brownies as a Christmas gift and bought her and her sister a weekend trip to a cabin like she's been saying she wants.
>>97260459Why should we care about some random fatass in some ass-end of the world?
You should ALWAYS cheese every encounter. If you EVER end up in a situation that even remotely resembles a fair fight, just run away and wait until you can rig the situation to your favor. Use your fucking brain. Even if it is highly improbable for you to lose a given fight, statistically speaking, you'll still eventually croak if you keep taking those bets. Don't leave it up to chance. It's easier than you might think, you just need to use your noggin. It's not a video game. You can do whatever the fuck you want.Just the other night my party ran into a melee monster in a narrow ass room that they for some reason decided to ram their dicks into until someone died. When I suggested that we retreat for a bit and lure it into the room with the big ass statues so we can all just climb them and shoot it to death, they looked at me like I just escaped from the looney bin. They all died of course.
>>97261871>If I think it'd be more fun for them to go out in a blaze of glory then they shall. And yet we all know that this is just the way you cope with being a forward walking auto attacking drooling retard who gets unimaginably angry in the vicinity of anyone even a little smarter than yourself, forced to type up convoluted scenarios in which being a moron is actually a good thing.
>>97261899OP, you're the one trying to troll people by writing fake scenarios where you believe people play tabletop games like an MMO instead of like an actual tabletop game. Why the fuck are you so upset?
>>97256985>>97256997Are you running a hex crawl? Is this a hex crawl? Are you running old-school DnD where hirelings and inventory management are important? Because in those systems, running away is good. Admirable, even. You run away because gold is your XP, not killing monsters. Completing quests can be done, often, without killing anything unless the quest itself was killing a monster. But if we are talking about Pathfinder or DnD 5e, it is different. System is not built for hex crawl and inventory management. Old-School DnD is about treating dungeon-diving as a job, with risk management. New stuff is about playing a fantasy hero, where you need to press forward and kill. You are not running away from the boss in a Pathfinder. You must fight, and die, if that is what must happen. You are asking people to put motorcycle parts in car and then get angry when they say that's dangerous.
>>97250948Funny how stating this basic bitch shit is causing so much seethe. The reason people call D&D Wizards overpowered is because they have all the tools they need to execute this playstyle with trivial ease. And there's no counterplay except being an even bigger conniving magic jew.
>>97261949>But if we are talking about Pathfinder or DnD 5e, it is different. No it isn't. Basic tactics and strategy work regardless of game.

I'd like to play in a Solars in the Realm game at least once before I die. Why is it so rare?
>>97261065Because if you go loud and flare Anima you will have to be hunted down until you're dead or you flee the Isle

>Dragons that exist on a level above Kings and are paid tribute but otherwise largely don't interfere with the affairs of mortals Vs>Dragons establish their own empires with their own bureaucracies, integrating half-dragons, dragonborn, humans, kobolds, and other racesWhich do you prefer? Or is there one that fits a particular type of dragon more than the others?
>>97253010He misleads him, very briefly as you described, and then Smaug quickly sorties out, tries to find and kill the dwarves, fails to find them and so burns or eats most of their ponies so they can't escape the Lonely Mountain, and then flies off to Laketown just to fuck shit up, intending to return and root them out and torture them to death immediately after. The dorfs and Bilbo would've been completely fucked if there wasn't Deux Ex Machina Man, descendant of the King of Dale, with a never-before-mentioned Super Special Magic Macguffin Arrow, who talked to a fucking bird to learn Smaug's weakpoint and then was lucky enough to land a perfect instakill shot with said arrow. Weakest part of an otherwise perfect story. I don't think Tolkien wrote himself into a corner, I think he just wanted to find some way to involve Men in the Battle of the Five Armies, as if a mountain full of fucking gold wasn't motivation enough. But TLDR no, he doesn't reason with Smaug at all, and if he hadn't had the ring during their brief exchange, he'd have been a pile of ashes.
>>97253085It's true that Bilbo only survives through remaining unseen and Smaug would have gladly killed him if given the opportunity, but my point is that dragons, especially those lesser than Smaug, aren't stupid and could respect the power of dangerous rivals and negotiate, at least until they found a way to take the said power for themselves.
>>97252736>They can be tricked or misdirected but never reasoned withSo you don't like mythological dragons. Got it.

I kind of like the Timars and Lizard horse lore, so I'm going to run with it.>Not all Timars submitted during the coup. Some fled to their holdings in the frontiers of the Empire where they held out against the Janissaries. Eventually these became Emirates in their own right, with the Timarots taking advantage of the Dwarven lizard trade to cement their social status. Some have become heretics and adopted beliefs like the Tribal fetish cult, almost as a big 'fuck you' to the Ulama. They're Aristocrats who get shit done.

If they really wanted to make a good Monty Python game they should base it on the weird animated segments rather than yet more Holy Grail. I remember there was this old computer game from the late 80s or early 90s like that, but sadly it was just another Mario-clone since the technology just wasn't there yet to do it justice.

So, imagine for a second that a GM is pitching you a sci-fi game to play in soon. The setting is "like StarCraft," the rules system is a new one to you (Flex D6 if it's essential you know), and the general flow of the game is described as flying a small ship around and going on planet side adventures in the face of an approaching disaster. What do you need to know, or want to know, ahead of time? What would be useful to you practically, creatively, etc? Do you want a session zero?
>>97250918>session zeroYes, but has to be setting description, group character creation and a short encounter to get everyone on board. >need to know Rules to the game ideally on a quick reference sheet or short 4 page thing. >want to know Scifi sort, space opera, fantastical, very soft, a bit more technical, are the people I'm playing with part of a regular group or new? >usefulElevator pitch for the setting, blurbs for the space area, how space travel works, what themes we're aiming at, how character mortality works.

Looking at all these games played list it reminds me of games that were very popular at one point but I'm not sure if they're getting played anymore. The teo that jump to my mind are Teotihuacan and Stationfall. Anyone stll plays these? Has your opinion on them changed over time?>What games that were a hit at one time do you think are now completely forgotten / you did a complete 180 on them.
>>97261637>TeotihuacanI had the misfortune of playing that recently. It's long, it's boring, and it's surprisingly chaotic.
>>97261637I don't remember theotihuacan being popular here tbqh. Stationfall, in my opinion, is kinda neat but suffers too much from being in a really fucking weird niche. It's almost a party game, but you don't really want too many people playing it. It feels like a lightweight game that still needs a 45 min teach. It creates hilarious stories, but doesn't offer statisfying gameplay. Stationfall is somewhat of a conundrum and is probably the best game in existence for the right people, but there's not that many of them.
