Have a holiday Revenant. This one is a test unit to see how assembly and painting works for something like this. I drilled a hole in the mouth to make a rictus howl and melted the face down with acetone, once it sets it should hopefully look mask-like. After that I'll need to firm up the crest and maybe add something on the back if I feel like it.
For some reason, this piece fits so well in the setting, but I have no idea what it could be exactly...

I see that we're having one of those slow starting threads.I've been finalising the banners that I will be printing out. Recently I was thinking about alternative combat systems.I remember someone talking about instead of HP the payer has a Jenga tower and he needs to remove peaces once hit, the skill is to remove peaces without the tower collapsingSo I started thinking.For example what if the combat somehow involves cups and balls?Instead of a D20+modifier nonsense why not change it up? Why not give a player 10 balls or legos or whatever and to win an encounter the player needs to land 2 balls in 1 cup?There can be variants of this like a super hard encounter demands the player lands all 10 balls or what about reducing the size of the cup with the difficulty of combat?What if we implement a fate system from Talisman for the players? What if legendary bosses have something like that for themselves? And can negate the players victory? What if different monsters use different "balls" like for example some bone golems will be you throwing legos into cups and zombies are aluminum balls while naga can be gummy bears? It might not even be the Inner Sphere not being able to somehow manufacture an AMS system, it might be Comstar messing with detection software so that when it's tested in front of the military big wigs, it underperforms horribly. Said military big wigs would then say that it's not worth the investment and then cut funding on further development. It's not that Comstar would assassinate smart people, which is still a very real possibility, but Comstar had the ability to modify anything they could get their hands on and their reach was absurdly long and coordinated.
Any way you slice it the missile tech breaks down if you think about it much. Thunderbolts and Arrow IV as depicted are 70s tech at the latest. The cluster table is evidence of heavy ECM, except it's still in effect when shooting at the cheapest flatbed trucks and civilian ground cars.

After about 8 years since I last DM'ed a game, I've been asked to run a session. Unfortunately my books - adnd, 2e, 3e, 3.5, 4e, and 5e are in storage two states away.And i prefer physical copies. Thanks to critical role and the movie DND books have gone up in price which is weird.>4e books are ~10-15$ now. Is it viable to run 4e in 2025? I have a lot of 3.x experience.The problem is early levels, which require more handholding from the DM. I try to not be afraid of handing out potions and gear if it looks like their are struggling.In my current game, we took on an entire nest (25+) lycanthropes from levels 3 to 6, and it took all our cleverness, as well as some crucial DM handouts, for us to even survive. I accepted becoming a werewolf to give us the punch we needed to win; it's worked out fairly well.If you are ever in the 3.5 general and see a storytime about the werewolf elf, that's me.
