>>97235823>>97235884Yeah stormhosts never really took off as their own thing compared to marine chapters/legions. They're too samey and too specific of an aesthetic, marines are blank slate enough that you can combine them with vampires, egyptians, vikings, etc. How many stormhosts can the average aos player name I wonder?>>97235921>>97235933Amazing anon. I recognize your stormcasts, should've known it was you.

Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

>>97235703>This is one strange fucking planet, there can’t be too many places like this in the galaxy where Imperials, xenos, and Chaos worshippers park next to each other in such a haphazard fashion >The inside of the arena is even stranger >The off-duty voidship crews, Rogue Trader armsmen, and Guardsmen, as well as wealthy off-worlders and local civilians are mostly sitting in one area of the stands, with the Orks and Gretchin clustered around another area, and the Slaaneshi mostly sitting in a third area, but there is plenty of mixing between the three groups in the hallways and tunnels leading to the stands, and along the edges of each seating area. There are also a few Tau and Eldar Corsairs sitting with the normal humans, and a few Drukhari hanging out with the Slaaneshi degenerates. Most individuals are armed regardless of background, but mostly with sidearms and smallish melee weapons, plus a few carbines and rifles >The game itself is, uh, interesting >One one side there are Orks, looking pretty much like normal Orks>On the other are some Khornate barbarians the Orks apparently rounded up from among the scattered bands of survivors living far to the south of here. The Khornates are all beefy thugs, around 7-8 feet tall and extremely muscle bound, yet still lighter than their opponents. The fact that they can withstand repeated physical contact with Orks is impressive. They wear patchwork armor that looks like it was originally mean for Orks, but reworked and repainted. Aside from their armor, most only wear a loincloth and boots, but are sometimes even missing one of those. Overall they would be pretty attractive in a hyper masculine sort of way if it weren’t for the nauseating symbols they incorporate into their armor and carve into their flesh, and the odd physical proportions some of them have
>Be Felinid Sergeant Tom>Wake up hung over>Wake up with at least a couple empty bottles of Amasec in my cot>Wake up knowing I'm gonna spend yet another Candlemas on this forzen hell hole>Was supposed to be redeployed this past year, but that never happened>Get up>Wake up my Felinid White Sheild nephew, sleeping the next cot over>Get the both of us properly dressed for the perpetually cold weather, as usual >Get break feast, as usual>Check in with the regiment supply sergeant, as usual >Finally some good news, the ship carrying our hot coco rations has just dropped out of warp>Inform Commissar Kate of this rare piece of good news>Join Kate on her ride to the Krieg HQ, some of their troopers have been shooting Felinids>Decide to take my little Shite nephew along
>>97235713>Also, there are bizarre looking cheerleaders for both the Orks and the Khornates, but the fan favorites seem to be the three Eldar cheerleaders who are working hard despite the fact that their team isn’t set to play until the third game. I suppose that means there will be Slaaneshi cheerleaders at some point too, which may be too much for me to handle, I already find the Slaaneshi spectators sitting in the stands across from me distracting enough >As for the game itself, I have no idea what is going on down there, it just seems to be brawls that get periodically broken up by the refs. I guess I will cheer for the Khornates? But only because like any good Valhallan, I hate Orks. Almost as much as I hate Tau.>Confused by the game, I start inspecting the stands more closely. What sort of scout would I be if I wasn't on top of every potential threat? >Off to the left of me there is a section of box seats whose entrances are well guarded. Plenty of Nordicans, which makes sense given the Lord General is in one of those boxes, but plenty of Krieg Korpsmen too, which makes a lot less sense given they are probably the last group of soldiers you want at an event like this given they will try and use any minor outbreak of violence as an excuse to turn this whole place into a bloodbath >Only one of the box seats assigned to the Slaaneshi is occupied, but the entrances to it are well guarded. >The Ork box seats are strangely empty>Before I can dwell on that, a big metal humanoid machine enters the field from a hidden openings in the middle of a play. Is this some sort of “special play” allowed under Blood Bowl’s non-existent rules? A poorly timed half-time show? No one in the crowd or on the field seems to know how to react, and the machine doesn’t look Orkish, more like the offspring of a Dreadnought and a Necron Warrior than anything >I am starting to get a bit nervous, maybe coming to the game wasn’t such a good idea after all

To preface, I'm an MTG veteran. My first Precon was Coven Counters in 2021 and I've been an EDH player ever since. After years of playing, I think the WUBRG elemental may just do me in. Gimmick synergy, tribal, a real throw in anything somewhat related type of commander potential. It also has the most forced WUBRG ability to date: being able to pay WUBRG in order to keep an Elemental you Evoked is utter bullshit. It completely defeats the purpose of Evoke and is just a continuation of "drop a set, put whatever you want under 1 commander."I hate it, you hate it, and it's just a slap in the face of previous WUBRG Legendaries that tried to be something more than tribal or gimmick synergy, or just cram some WUBRG ability in last second, such as [[Atogatog]] [[General Tazri]] [[Golos, Tireless Pilgrim]] [[Jodah, the Unifier]] [[Jenson Carthalion, Druid Exile]] [[Morophon, the Boundless]] [[Najeela, Blade Blossom]] and [[Ramos, Dragon Engine]] . And I'm missing a shitton of other WUBRG Legendaries that could be Commanders. But let's look at the new WUBRG Legendaries that could be Commanders (hint: they're all tribal, gimmick synergy, or cram in a WUBRG ability last second): [[Avatar Aang]] [[Cosmic Spider-Man]] [[Hei Bai, Forest Guardian]] [[Heroes in a Half Shell]] and [[Infinite Guideline Station]] .As long as WotC keeps dropping cards like [[Horde of Notions]] , MTG will die very soon and for real this time.

Everyone I know who watches Fatt Coville videos is a fucking terrible GM. I've never fully watched one and I am widely considered the best GM out of all 3 groups I'm part of. I am regularly requested to run campaigns. People borderline fall asleep in the games others run. There's also no tension because they know that these Coville acolytes will fudge rolls until all PCs survive the battle. If you're a good GM, it's an inmate talent you can hone over time. You're born that way. If you aren't, then no amount of shitty advice is going to make up for your lack of talent. It just is what it is. This idea that everyone should "try" DMing is retarded. The idea that anyone can be good at it? lolno. Its like some fat divorced on who suddenly decides he's gonna become a famous author. Fat chance. Most people fucking suck at GMing. Hell, most of them suck at playing, but at least in that case the game depends less on them.

I was looking into it, and is the cheapest way to become an interstellar mercenary with some tactical viability to use a modified K-1 with a single platoon of BA infantry? 12 BA troops can do some pretty lightweight anti-pirate jobs and the K-1 would be able to carry enough cargo to keep the troops and crew supplied for extended engagements.

Have you tried Space Gits? It's an unusual skirmish game by Mike Hutchinson (made Gaslands). It seems to be the ultimate casual skirmish that you play while chugging beer.A lot of mechanics are dexterity based, for example instead of losing health or wounds, your fighters add D6's to their dice tower, which has to be moved alongside them (and when it drops over, they drop down). Shooting is also quirky - you roll dice equal to the number of shots and then trace lines between a shooter and each die to see if you hit the target. Landed shots use die's result, so a single roll is made to-hit and to-wound, which I think is neat.I'm going to try it this thursday. My only two complaints so far is that close combat seems bland (its basically rock-paper-scissors) and it's really easy to deny it by spamming shove. My other complaint is that the rulebook's art is atrocious vomit.Everything else checks out though, it even seem to have a basic campaign system.
>>97222350>>I game to play game with socialization being the background event.Serious question: Are you a fucking loser? If socialization is a background event then go play video games in your room ALONE.
>>97227551NTA but I get what he says. Some games you want to play to fuck around and socialize. In some you want to concentrate on trying to outplay your opponent, if the game has any tactical depth ofc; something like classical battletech.
bump
>>97227500Gaslands was really great. This seems less so but probably fun for a hot minute. >>97227551Anon, some people rank playing the game more than talking with the other people playing the game. Doesn't mean they don't need or like both, just that they like one part more. Calm the fuck down.
>>97227551I like games that have some depth, thinking, or a need to focus on what you or your opponent is doing. While that is being done, the focus is the game. In between sessions? Absolutely going to be shooting the shit, hanging out, maybe drink a beer, grab some grub, you name it. When the game is out, the game is the focus.Casual games that are the background event for socialization usually aren't good games mechanically and actually distract from the socialization they are supposed to promote. As a personal aside, the kind of player that usually really enjoys those kinds of games has a high likelihood of being "It's just a game, bro." kind of person that is troublesome as hell if you are a person that plays games with any kind of seriousness.

>>97234965>Did this Palatine ghoul, embrace, care for, recruit from, organize, or had any connection whatsoever with neo-nazis and/or people involved in the fentanyl trade? She didn't embrace anybody from those, and ghouled few from those. Her underlings did everything listed. Overall, her organization didn't filter Kine material very rigorously; attached is a file from my records showing what sort of Kindred and ghouls we had to cut through to harm her operations. They acquired neo-nazis and bikers as brute force, drug dealers as a source of cash and drugged-out bodies, local militias as firepower and so on. We've made an effort to cull whoever didn't flee Bridgeport, but nature abhors a vacuum, so those five could easily be survivors out of their mind due to vitae withdrawal, or some sort of asset of hers or of one of her underlings doing somebody's bidding by this suicidal attack, or just out-of-towners who moved in on seemingly free turf, or something else. I will, regardless, inform my coterie to make sure they're available if this is the first attack of many.>>97235080Thank you, the footage will come in handy.> For what it's worth there were no obvious external signs of Vicissitude. Unfortunately, that's not much of a tell; the Palatine was remarkably, if sporadically, careful about not leaving signs of her work and at least somewhat tried to avoid giving herself away, until she decided to bring out the fucking death unicorn and her other toys. Still good to know.>Now the dolls are looking on the inside, we'll send you pictures if they find anything.Appreciated, thank you. I'll be forwarding everything to the Brujah I've had with me, provisionally still named Tats here, she'll be the one to contact if it'll prove necessary while I am busy with the flight. She's a professional at turning people to pulp and has a good, if angry and spiked, head on her shoulders, good pick to turn to.
>>97234780Thy will be done. I'll bring along two ghouls to manage the plane and otherwise handle affairs if we end up unable to arrive before sunrise, and a member of my coterie as backing just in case. Beyond that, the plane can accomodate an extra eight passengers counting you two, has a spacious recreational area, private sleeping accomodations, ample space for Kindred to retreat to if sun's a problem, multi-layered window coverings to minimize sunlight risk, and plenty cargo space. So, nearly whatever or whoever you'd potentially like to bring to Europe, or from Europe, can be brought. Time-wise, we'll be leaving as early as possible from New York, and no later than at 3:30AM from Rome, to account for the sun's movement and the flight length; the ghouls could fly us during the day, even, if you're fine with that and would prefer to get the most out of your night in Rome, but otherwise that's the most reasonable timetable. The expected flight time is from around five to seven hours, depending on how weather will be and how obnoxious we'll be able to get with some of the plane's particular aspects - it's a special thing. You'll see what I mean in person.
