This looks lovely! As for your question, you could add a little bit of verdigris effect on the bronze maybe? Gold shadows are usually warm-ish that's why colors/washes that are used for shading skin work well. You could also add a little bit of purple for some more visual interest if you feel like putting in the extra effort. For highlighting you can use a more platinum color if you don't want it looking too silver-y. Something like Canoptek Alloy from GW.

Not sure what that anon's workflow is, but you can start right now. There's a bit of a learning curve, but to just kitbash stuff in Blender is pretty easy.
Get Blender, learn basic UI, get the files (you can work directly with .stl files), and just do stuff. If you are just printing minis, you don't need to give a fuck about geometry. If you want to just do basic stuff, you can probably do with just a slicer software for the printer. If you want to do complex stuff, you might look into sculpting. Blender sculpting tools are okay and mostly enough, but if you enjoy it, I would recommend pirating ZBrush somewhere.

This is a bit specific (not in a bad way) but excellent advice overall: Just add interesting locations on the map and reasons to go there, even simple stuff like treasure maps.

More ideas:

1. Scatter services around the map. It's often a good idea to have specialists (sages, alchemists, trainers, mercenaries) be available in different towns and villages to force players to travel occasionally.

2. It's also very important to implement some form of strict or loose 1:1 time and downtime play, as that introduces things to do with gold.

If your players are really fixated on only going into the dungeon there's no reason to mess with them, it's their right. (1) and (2) mostly happen during downtime by definition, so they'll still be dungeon delving for the most part during actual sessions.

And yes they might have some unused gold if dungeon delving is all they ever do. Not a tragedy, but do emphasise that it's their choice if it comes up.

As a few things when I make a setting and region. I make sure to have at least 4 major cities/hubs with something you can only get there. From a Blacksmith who can make high-tier gear, a enchanter, etc. Maybe even make one of them a small town and it's known cause of them or something. So going there the only thing you can do is that.

Push downtime activities, especially for stuff at the end or beginning of a session. Maybe someone making a new weapon, crafting some potions or scrolls, training, etc. When they get back let them find out how well they did and all. So you have a reason for time to pass in the setting.
Don't let players be the center of the world and let the world turn on it's own. Let things happen and be talked about that isn't about the PCs or their quests and all. You think it might be pointless but make the world feel a bit more lived in and real. Especially at lower levels.

Thanks for sharing. It's definitely more of a "force players to do shit" style of campaign than is my style, but it can definitely be loads of fun both to run and to play in.

Also not a fan of magic shoppes, but once you have rules for magical research, magic item crafting, and for the demographics of high-level NPCs in place, it can be hard to justify the fact that they DON'T exist in a natural way.

Well the idea is you have limits on what you can do. So the players have choose what they should do first or what should the not bother with. If it's feels like their only one thing to do it might get bland, however if you have to choose on taking out a goblin nest, or bandit camp. The other problem might get bigger later or might get away and you might need to hunt for them harder than when you knew the area they're currently holed up at.

Also, the special shops don't have to be shops but more of this guy can help you make a +2 magic sword. Or a old wizard that skilled in a magic you want to learn that might teach you. Stuff like that, maybe they make you hunt for items or prove you worth teaching.

However at the end of the day. Think of games like Skyrim, BOTW/TOTK, etc. Don't make it one or two paths. Just leave hook everywhere and when the players grab one start focusing on that. Maybe have one or two going on in the background so when they do pick that it's not the same level 1 bandit camp and all.

Here's an idea to killteamify warcry a bit: give units dice abilities stapled onto their card and give certain runemarks special passives, like "if this Elite is fighting a non-elite, give it +1 attacks." Up the complexity, just a bit.
Also kneecap compendium units. Not totally remove them just make them less appealing to tempt people into bespokes

Without thinking about it, entirely subconsciously, you are trained by Pathfinder and D&D to safeguard your players. You are taught to coddle them! And when does this subconscious teaching happen? Not in ANY dungeon master resource. It happens before your first adventure, before your very first D20 roll.

It happens when you create characters.

In Pathfinder, character creation takes a ridiculous amount of time. I ran it for about six years, and I saw it take well over an hour, sometimes going up to two for new players. As a GM who understood the system inside and out, I could get it done in about a half hour.

Losing a character in a game with such a painstaking character creation process is absolutely devastating. As a GM, you wonder if that person will bother to make a new character, or if they will just leave, and if they do, who will go with them? Will you even have a game afterwards?

And enemy statblocks are the same way. You look at these massive text blocks that include three different saving throws, the type of hit dice, types and sub-types of creature, and perhaps most hilariously unnecessary, ALL SIX STATS. Who on earth looks at all that and dares think “I’ll make some monsters of my own!”

Please understand, I’m not saying nobody makes their own monsters. I’m saying that it is an undertaking to make a monster with a statblock like that. Figuring out saves, stats, and heaven forbid you want to get CR correct, good luck with testing out that garbage.

It's not even a very popular design philosophy. Most new systems/games that are being released are a lot less bloated in mechanics.
People not wanting their characters to die isn't really due to the char creation process but rather due to not wanting to lose all the hours spent on playing it in my opinion.

Yes, actually; a /mydudes/ Craftworld called Katre-Kaan. Colours I have in mind are a forest/olive-y green with bone-white as the accent colour for helmets etc.
Fluff I've got for them so far is they believe in returning the Eldar to their glory days, but unlike Biel-Tan who think the best approach is to kill everyone else, they're instead trying to build a sort of mini-empire in some corner of the galaxy for them and their friends to fuck off to and pretend everything else isn't happening, with their Craftworld parked in orbit above a maiden world. They're trying to convince other Craftworlds to join them, and also sending occasional piratical raids to find and take resources/treasures from lesser races to keep in their "empire". They're very chummy with Exodites. With the exception of the "requisition" raids, they're generally not openly aggressive but are VERY territorial about their domain and won't tolerate trespassers.

What are your experiences with in-game moral and ethical dilemmas and players saying, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave"?

I feel as though a lot of GMs' attempts at in-game moral and ethical dilemmas are unwittingly sabotaged by adventure inertia and players' desire to avoid saying, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave."

The way I usually see it structured, a bunch of antagonists stir up trouble. The PCs agree to help the locals. The party investigates some dangerous place or situation. Then, at the very end of the adventure, the PCs see that the antagonists have some vaguely justifiable reason for causing trouble.

The above structure is perfectly fine (and indeed, I have used it many times myself as a GM), but where things get janky is when the antagonists sincerely plea for the PCs to just turn around and leave, and the GM earnestly expects this to be an option that should be seriously taken into consideration.

I have never, ever seen this happen, for understandable reasons. Very, very few players want to say, "At the climax of our journey, we turn around and leave." It is much more common for the players and their PCs either work out a compromise with major concessions from the antagonists, beat up the antagonists, or both (i.e. beat up, restrain, work out compromise and major concessions from position of power).

Orcs do know that what they're doing is immoral, they just believe the gods would get bored and destroy the world if immoral shit stopped happening all the time. This is why they burn down orphanages, kick puppies, and slaughter nuns. The gods will it. And this is also why orcs will only speak words of love in hushed whispers beneath the roof of their hovel, if they did it out under the open sky (where the gods live) the gods would surely punish the orcs for daring to yearn for a life beyond simple marauding.
Orcs are like that because they believe the gods hate them.

I've almost had to stop having NPCs try to deceive or lie to my players a times because they just cannot understand that sometimes people might be trying to misdirect them or have a motive to lie to them. They just take everything my NPCs say at face value without question, and then if there's a conflict in what's happening vs what they said (Like when someone tells them that room is perfectly safe while cackling, then they walk in and the door slams shut while the ceiling starts lowering), they assume I made a mistake or forgot something. That the NPC intentionally lied to them never even crosses their mind.

We ran a short adventure where one player missed the first session and we created characters separately.
He turned up with a goblin mastermind rogue while another PC was a hobgoblin mastermind rogue (bodyguard to my noble character). We decided to have hobgob fish new gob PC out of his jacket and subcontract the bodyguard job to her with the implication that there are more goblinoids in there if need be.
