>>97820496Would it surprise if I said that I'm not done catching up and I only came here today because I sensed an opportunity to make a shitpost of a lifetime? I don't have issues with the Atlantis writeup, at least, though I'd maybe prefer the Titking to be younger. Then again, maybe the reason he doesn't take of his armor is because he's into some sort of half-golemized state and this doesn't age normally.
>>97820649>Would it surprise if I said that I'm not done catching up and I only came here today because I sensed an opportunity to make a shitpost of a lifetime?I'm going to be reeling from this for a while so congratulations. In a strange twist of fate, a friend of mine in the services tried to trick me that he was being sent to Iran an hour ago, but I called him on it immediately because of you preempting his bit. Twice in one day, Christ.>I don't have issues with the Atlantis writeup, at least, though I'd maybe prefer the Titking to be younger. It's largely a question of how fast the reconquests happen, and if we want the Atlantean revolution to postdate Surface contact or not. In the current writeup he gets 30 years to build up and expand. Shorter times are possible but might get odd in places. I'll give it a touchup tomorrow based around this and the earlier comments.
>>97820773Honestly, that's fair. And if he plans to lead his nation through the coming apocalypse, perhaps artificially prolonging his life is something that he'd try to do, so him physically fusing to his Titanium armor goes kinda hard.
>>97820778I hope this meme template sticks around. I find it amusing. >>97820773I'm in favor of a longer lived Titking, and him crystalizing into his suit. There's precedent for it, even on the chart, with the Wall Mystics, and we've always played a little fast a loose with characters ages.
Is GW really planning a Titan-sized Daemon Perturabo model or is this symbolic?

>>97810542he doesn't have wings like the other ones and primarchs (chaos) are the size of knights so it makes sense he'd just be physically larger than the winged primarchs.

>>97820629For me, one of the easy fixes would be to make maneuvers a default class feature.Though my personal favourite approach is 13th age 1e.Each maneuver has a trigger based on a natural D20 roll and it applies as a rider after the roll.
>>97819798only complaint I really have with 2024 is how literally every race and their pet dog has night visionlanterns are cool and fun!!! ;_;
>>97820880>lanternsStill needed with darkvision.Concealment, disadvantage, no colour. The problem is the light cantrip.
>>97820896That's when you cast Pass without Trace and make the DM realize that the monsters with Darkvision now need to bring their own lanterns to have any hope of not being ambushed by the party.
>>97820937Traditionally darkvision species still had low light sconces or luminescent fungus for exactly this purpose

>>97820591Star Wars has literally always been 40k-tier in terms of its timeline, assuming we take Obi-wan's quote from the original movie seriously.>"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic."
>>97820616It's changed constantly. In each draft of the OG script it flipped from 100,000 years to 1,000 years to 1,000 generations to 10,000 years and so on. I guess one way to reconcile it is the Republic itself is only a thousand years or so old, but the Jedi have been around for thousands of years longer.
>>97820591>The Republic as we see it is too corrupt to have existed without collapsingYeah man. The prequal trilogy is set in space Rome in space 50-30 BC. You aren't supposed to believe that the republic was never able to enforce basic laws because they never had an army.
>>97809287I hope that we can use the V-wing for both Republic and Empire. I want my Imperial V-Wing

>>97820402>you waded into an argument between other peopleIn that post you quoted I wrote>>Your attempt to prove me wrongI identify myself as the guy who correctly stated that the artwork came from the 1994 monstrous compendium, not the 1995 card game and your takeaway from that is I inserted myself into an argument between other people? How stupid do you have to be to reach that conclusion? As stupid as trying to prove the artwork comes from a 1995 card game not a 1994 book by pointing to a 1998 date on a version posted anonymously and calling that a "logical argument".Pic related says Wizards of the Coast despite it being published by TSR in 1994 three years before WOTC bought TSR. It's amazing how companies update notices over time isn't it.

>>97801974Probably still brooThey'll rape anything, and some people say they can impregnate rocks and trees. I doubt they discriminate between heartbeats.

I always hear about the stir this caused, and recently about how bad or redeemable it is. I'm not certain about it myself because I dabbled with 3e and then got into 5e, never paid much attention to the scene during that entire era. What does /tg/ think of the system?
>>978193874e is noob friendly (it is an actual game that bothers teaching you how to play it)5e and other editions are noob friendly (the game is half designed and you are encouraged to basically just play pretend and call it D&D)
>>97819387for players
>>97819548No, for DMs. 4E is extremely DM friendly.
>>97820725The 4e haters will never admit this. NEVER. 4e is the apocalypse, the beginning of woke along with an emphasis on freakshit, plus WoW advancement assessment adjacent play functions means they can never be unbiased about this edition. It's part of their personality now. D&D is hated here, much less the most divisive edition.
>>97780412I play it with measuring tapes and minus and it works just fine.

>>97811433Damn. Thank you for your help.
>>97810560True but they always seem to focus on the sexual mechanics, I'm more talking about mechanical buffs that persist into conventional gameplay. The post-nut buffs if you will/>>97811241>>97811433>>97811811Depends entirely on the mechanism. If a spell specifies the size increase/decrease effects like Enlarge/Reduce does, use those because specific trumps general. For the things that change your size but don't specify the stat changes it's an open question if you use the rules as if you'd take the size increase rules from a monster gaining Hitdice, or you'd gain nothing at all. (I'd probably give the natural armor increases at least to partly offset the size penalty to general and touch AC
>>97813872I try not to get involved in homebrew anymore. Sorry.Maybe let a dragon's princess concubines gain some SLAs of the dragon plus some elemental resistance based on HD.
>>97813872>offset the size penalty to general and touch ACWhy do they need to be offset? Shit's bigger now, it's going to be easier to hit. Monster advancement isn't really analogous to having its size magically altered.
>>97820179Because you're gonna have a tougher hide from the scaleup.

>>97820459Path of the Doomed is the one with the suicide bombers and yeah that's the one. The biggest reason I'm losing a lot of guys is that I fucked up at gang creation and only bought one champion. On the second week or so both of them got critically injured and neither of them could take eachother to the doctor, so I lost my entire leadership in one game. Honestly I just feel like I've been getting super unlucky with the lasting injury table results.
>>97820474And on downtime I bought two champions. The very next game, one got memdeath'd and the other got captured and I didn't want to fight the same guy again; let's just say I had 23 tactics cards for that game. Just recently I got an 11 for picking the missions and got to choose, so I just decided to run fucking Ghast Harvest with my opponent and voluntarily bottle when he got close. Spent the 260 creds on another champion who got memdeath'd this last game.
Just got Spike! Journal 21. Shortstack feet on page 18, uuuoooooooohhhh I'm gonna coom
>>97819267It's necromunda but with vehicle rule (forced too, game had to start with orks on vehicles), and modeling for advantage: Orks are on thin, oval bases like the one on green army men. So you can stack as many of them on a truck, but it they fell off they took damage. >>97818179They overproduced, there're lots of vehicles and accessories, even new boyz. Turn out ork didn't sell.
>>97820399If you guys are playing relatively RAW, it is pointless. The transitions in the succession campaign are very poorly balanced (what a shock!) and moving from Cinderak to Temenos you guys should all just reset gangs, or at the very least do something like rehiring gang members ar 1250+400c. Despite your outlier scenario Cinderak isn't deadly enough to warrant the 2000c starting lists, and any new gangs joining in Temenos start with 1000+400. The gang rating and even crew differences will be in the 1000s for just standard gangs, not even considering new joinees or your situation, or the characters randomly joining up. The move from Temenos to Jardlan is much smoother as those are both 1000+400, but even then if you play RAW any continuing gang will just be radically higher rating compared to a starting gang. Why a continuing gang also gets 250c on top of everything else when joining into the next campaign is beyond comprehension.
>Join open table night for 5E>Playing a monster expert ranger>combat starts >pull out monster manual and read the stats >DM accuses me of meta gaming This is a DM skill issue right? It’s a roleplaying GAME. Why is he upset that I’m just using all the tools of the game to be a better player
>>97818555How do you know that's what you're fighting?
>>97818555>Join open table night for 5E>Playing a scout and talker>Enter dungeon>pull out adventure to find secret doors and npc talking points>DM accuses me of meta gaming
>>97820270Hes not, because metagaming means the higher level of a game where you strategize against the other players, not the system. Knowing all the stats is just gaming with a wiki. Its only metagaming when you load up on radiant damage because you know you're playing COS and expect a tonne of undead that wouldnt otherwise be common enemies - your strategy is strong because of the other strategies in play, not the inherent balance of the gameThats why its called the metagame
>>97818555Its fine to do as long as you're okay with the gm doing everything they can to win.
>>97818555>5eFound the problem
Serious question: What value do slaves actually have to your average PC? Like, I've never seen any PC / group actively engage in slavery because there never seems to be any substantial reward worth the effort. It's like crafting or running a business, there's just no *point* in engaging with the mechanics because the rewards are puny. How could you make it actually appealing to players? It's not like they can load up a ship and sail off to the ivory coast.
>>97814288>What would a giant want great quantities of slaves for?Same thing humans would want halfling slaves for. They're good for both farming, domestic servitude, and industry. Sure, each human is individually weaker than the giant they serve, but that's always been the case for slavery, a Spartan hoplite was stronger than his helot slaves but he wasn't going to till the fields. Ultimately, slavery isn't about putting everyone in the role their physique is most suited for. It's about the strongest people realizing they can get weaker people to do the work they don't want to do themselves.
>>97798302There is no such thing as in the abstract. Either you're discussinga specific game, or you're not discussing games. Argue and I'll ban you.
>>97807822So farmers who sell food for money and aren't slaves.
>>97808048why would that push anyone? what does that mean?
