Hmm... Plenty of options there. Before brainstorming on that, maybe we can start with what kind of activities they'd be getting up to? Easier to figure out a meeting if we know what they're up to. How long do you suppose each character has been interacting with the other world? Are they meeting on their very first jaunt, or have they already cleared a few quests and come to understand the situation on their own? Could also be different for each character if you'd like one to be more experienced with the fantasy adventuring than the other.

One of the finalists of this chunin exam is a young man from the Hyuga’s branch house. As typical of his family, he’s a wielder of the famous Byakugan and an expert of the Gentle Fist. In addition to that, he’s more physically inclined than most of his brethren. This tendency, combined with the Hyuga's natural focus on the control of the chakra flow, let him master an exotic breathing technique extremely early in his career. To expand his arsenal, his teacher taught him the Cloth Style, but unlike him, Jin doesn't use it for setting up Barrier Techniques, and instead employs it in combination with his clan's martial art.
Outside his duties, his mask of professionalism drops, and a gregarious personality shines through. He’s a friendly fellow, always ready to help out his allies. His love of dad jokes sometimes helps him make those, and sometimes works against it.
He is extremely staunch in his moral beliefs. The end does NOT justify the means. However, that line for a ninja is blurry. As a result, it's difficult for him to decide where exactly it should be drawn, but once he does draw it, he'll die on that hill. The most prominent example of that, is his hatred of the Cursed Arts. The elders tried to curb it by assigning him a teacher who employs them, but it did not stop him from developing a rivalry with another of the finalists due to it.

Makes enough sense... Hmm... Then for a broad strokes plot, I suppose the bandits work out. How about Reza is riding along with some merchant, getting a ride in return for being a bodyguard. The bandits attack during the night, and Tomoe joins the fight- she was following the bandits and was worried they were up to no good. (Due to early game vampirism, she was traveling at night to begin with).

Something Raza might be more suited to than Tomoe. As for drinking blood, it probably helps quite a bit that she can just AoE absorb blood through her skin rather than literally drinking it. You should be right about her not having any blood stored up however.

Sounds good. Then that can cover the set-up. Next up is the encounter. How many of them and what their skillsets are is fairly important. It can set the tone for how strong the setting is. Something like a dozen bandits, mostly composed of archers and swordsmen would probably be the standard, with each being very athletic but not necessarily magic. If we'd like a world were magic is a bit more common, then the bandits could have a single minor ability each, something like Swordsman talents.

As for the actual action, Tomoe would likely go after the archers- perhaps they're hiding in the woods or something. As you mentioned earlier, she'd probably hesitate to kill, instead using the blunt side of her weapon... but perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself. Any ideas on what the bandits would be like or how they'd attack?

Something like that. The idea is that the bandits are a ways behind. Like an hour or two. It's just a straight road, so they're not worried about losing track of the merchant they want to rob. Or maybe they just have a well trained hound to track the merchant at a distance- I could see it especially if the cargo has a distinct smell. All they have to do is keep a moderate pace and without stopping for the night, and they'd naturally pass by the merchant when they stop to set up camp for the night. If they were just straight up stalking Raza from within eyeshot, it stands to reason that things would go down differently.

If anything, the ability to easily spot lies might just make life more troublesome in the sense that she'll know people are lying even if it doesn't help her solve any problems.

It's important to note, while they could wipe the floor with these bandits, it's a hostage situation. They may not have enough control over their powers to avoid attacking the merchants.
The encounter may start out with one or two bandits confronting the caravan, with three or so surrounding them in the bushes. They're not out to kill, but steal. And so the back-up is there just in case their victims fight back, or if they need more negotiating power. Most brandishing knives, with maybe one swordsman / spearman and an archer. Maybe Tomoe can start the fight by knocking out one of the hidden bandits when negotiations start to turn sour? Then the bandits have no choice but to fight back now that they've been discovered?

Having other types of creatures could spice things up, though that does mean hurting the dog if it ever comes to it, and no one wants to do that. Or maybe they just really like their camel cheese out in the desert region.

Initially, I thought he'd be in one of the tents when it happens, but I much prefer him being out in the woods so that he can enter the fray with his double jump, or make use of his projectiles since it does blunt damage. I think Reza might focus on taking the high ground as much as possible, and jump in and out of danger when he needs to be in melee.

The advantages of having a dog to spice up the encounter is forfeited by not being able to interact with it. Unless there's a way to charisma the dog, I think it would be best if it ran away as soon as the fighting starts if we're adamant on having it. There's always the option of not having it, or like you suggested before, having a wild animal be provoked by the battle.

Could be an issue if one of the merchants get injured, yeah... Although that'd mean I couldn't fight effectively alongside other PCs if anyone gets injured. Her kit relies on All-Embracing to fuel Hemomancy, and while it's not a big deal fighting bandits then it could quite annoying in future fights. So I think I'll have to rule that she can selectively not use the blood draining aura on allies and neutral parties. Hemomancy projectiles could however be an issue, similar to wing slash.

Anyway. So the bandits appear, Tomoe smacks one of the backliner bandits. Reza dynamic entries one of other bandits / ambushed them with a ranged attack while staying up in the trees. I imagine they'd make use of the element of surprise quickly dispatch another bandit each, probably with a different method... After that maybe it's time for the stumbling block? Perhaps the last bandit grabs a merchant and starts making demands, while the first bandit Tomoe knocked out is quietly getting back up and aiming his bow?

Fine, I have an idea. I wrote half my character already, the isekai part, but I may have gotten a bit carried away. The second part is probably going to be much shorter. In reality not even he knows what he is, after awakening in a random village while covered in blood with no memories he wandered the countrysides trying to find answers to qustions he knew he should have. Carving a bloody path in the forest he managed to reach a village as it was getting attacked by bandits, something inside of him told him to kill them, so he did like the animals that tried to block his path before. With no bandits remaining the villagers were not as happy as he thought they would be, they started screaming and calling him "Demon". Not feeling welcomed and with the voices calmed he just moved along, among insults and strange words. He was found camping in the forest by the order of the rose that decided to take him in and teach him to control his powers instead of killing him like the bounty they took asked of them. Without a name in his memory he stuck to the first words he remembered, Daimon. His nickname was given to him by the rest of the order after his brutal fighting style was discovered and perfected, with every fight his hemomancy would form wings, non functional at first but each time they would get a little more real. After being taken in his demeanor normalized, still being quiet but not being the savage people mistook him as, in battle however the "Bloodstorm" would awaken. He survived the Gorebloom by simply not surviving, he died like everyone else, but he came back somehow in a very similar fashion to his first awakening. He had his memories this time, as much as he rather would not. He joined the party as they traversed a forest haunted by a "Demon", they instead found him defending his home, or what passed for that. His aid was appreciated, and managing to convince him to join the party was easier that appeared, curiosity and lonlyness did most of the job.

This took less than I expected. but also more.

From what I gather the other one will be reluctant to drink up at the start, he will not have those kind of problems. I will be honest my build was determined by what images I found, I had one ready for all 3 paths. I will try to make more of his personality shine when I actually write, he is supposed to be the kind of person that puts on a calm front but is more emotional inside. I noticed there was another rose knight but since I am not sure how imporatnt the lore of the souls is supposed to be and how deep you wanted it to go so I did not specify, but I was thinking that Daimon joined the original party also because they had another rose knight, but keeping it vague to not give a clear order is also cool so I left it like that.

Yes and no on the reluctant to drinking? She'd think it's weird to bite someone and literally drink, but she's got the All-Embracing Heart ability, so it's not much of an issue. As for the soul lore, that'd make enough sense. I wrote my character's soul in as the knight commander of the Rose Knights, so him joining up with his original boss is pretty straight forward. The opposite works too, where maybe she joined the original party to look after one of her few surviving subordinates.

Daimon does not believe in superiors, or any kind of order like that, neither does Lucianus for that matter. But he does respect the people that took him in so he would follow orders more like advice from a friend. Lucianus will have no problems biting people, both because it's just part of being a vampire now, and because he inherited the same battle trance Daimon had so he is not completely there when he fights, at least at the start.

Gotcha. Makes plenty of sense on both accounts. For the souls, that'd suit Valeria just fine. She probably didn't feel much like a knight commander after the gorebloom anyway. Plus I didn't expect that sort of relationship to be inherited by the modern day characters regardless.

Fascinated by the shinobi world, Nobu hoped to adapt their ninjutsu into his own fighting style without abandoning or making massive changes to his samurai tradition, and after the second exam, he has found his way. As it is a neighboring element of wind, he used his great control and understanding to become proficient with the fire nature. His old fighting styles did not suit with his fire nature very well, so he sparred with his Tadafusa-sensei (and anyone willing he happened to find), until he learned a fighting style that befit his new nature: a wilder and more aggressive approach in combat. Rather than wait for the right moment to deliver the perfect blow, he would make that moment himself, overwhelming his opponents with barrages at range and then quickly following up with an Iai draw. He can still shift to his other style as needed, of course.

Personally what I think would happen is that Lucianus would get a vision at the start where Daimon kinda explains his life story and how he will slowly inherit his powers, before disppearing exactly when he was about to explain the whole saving the world part. So he knows what he is dealing with to a degree but no plot knowledge apart from a vague "remember you have to..." ', maybe later he will be able to comunicate with the soul willingly, when he sleeps probably.

To be fair Daimon would not even aknowledge that as a concept, while Lucianus would instead at least recognize that "oh wait, if it was a knigthly order they probably had a hyerarchy" but still completely disregard the notion of following it. Unlike the cyoa companions tho I would assume we don't actually have any idea who the others are, so Lucianus would not know who the other soul is unless someone tells him.

Sounds about right. Daimon is quite the wild child, and Lucianus is an eccentric. And yeah, we probably wouldn't know the identity of each other's souls unless we tell each other.

But even taking a few steps back, whatever relationship Daimon and Valoria had, it doesn't really matter to Lucianus and Tomoe. The PCs aren't the souls at the end of the day, and our characters only have their powers and not their relationships.

I was thinking about the same, but it does create an interesting dynamic. If anything it allows for a bit more of expression of character, whenever the reveal happens. Auvic Adon lives an untethered life. Born to immigrant parents in an unknown life, he was shuffled into Shower City after his parents up and abandoned him while he was still young. Now, he is confrontational and often violent, getting into arguments and escalating those into fights, often disappointed when the other party proves mature enough to not fall for his provocations. The oddest part is, he's a rather small boy, and more often than not he loses those fights. His friends know that he enjoys consuming more intellectual media in silence, and tends to go along with whatever the group has decided to do, just happy to be with people who don't make him feel angry, or annoyed, or envious.

Dumuzid Baal is the Midsummer Prince, the ruler of a small fiefdom deep in the Hollowest Wood, a forest otherwise uninhibited by humans. But rumor has it that the land of Tir Na Emain is not inhabited by humans, but by fairies. Someone knowledgeable might notice that Duzumid's skin is a little too flawless, his movements a little too effortlessly graceful, they may question whether or not he himself is human. The title of Prince of Midsummer is known well enough among the higher class, and surrounding peasant towns, but none could say why the man himself has decided to travel the realm, always carrying himself with an odd mixture of savagery and aloofness, though his magnetic personality makes it hard for most to notice just how off he is.
