If numbers would increase your motivation that much you'd have just used numerical values related to your current skills and attributes now and become a motivated and successful person in real life.
>>
>>93471291
Really doesn't work like that my man. The thing about gamer systems is it gives you very tangible and measurable growth, whereas in real life your progress is often much harder to measure.
>>
>>93471291
I have genuinely considered doing that, but the actual recording and updating process feels extremely tedious so I never got around to it. And besides "weight", I've never been quite sure of what numbers to record...

Types of physical fitness are very easy to measure, if you don't have a decent level of physical fitness from running a mile in X time or lifting X mass weight don't use this argument (unless you're disabled or something).

JUMP #0176: Beauty and the Beast

+1000
Location: Beast’s Castle – Ballroom
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Origin: Castle Dweller
Species: Beast-like (300)
Perks:
>Sing-Along (free)
>Dazzling Dancer (free)
>Matchmaker (free)
>Function Within Form (100)
>Be Our Guest [Majordomo] (100)
>Who Could Ever Love a Beast? (200)
>Prisoner of Love (200)
>Enchant-less (300)
Items:
>Footstool Dog (free)
>Magic Mirror (200)
Drawbacks:
>Wolf Bait (+200)
>She's nothing like the rest of us (+200)
Total: 1400/1400

Commentary: Jumper is some lesser cousin of the prince. Considered somewhat weird by the castle staff he is generally in charge of the castle grounds. Unfortunately, this leads to repeated trouble with the local lupine population. Honestly this is just an overly complicated way of justifying why jumper has the same beast form as the prince. Jumper also her several more matchmaking perks from previous jumps so the romance parts should go smoothly.

Jumpchain is not fun. I hate it, I would drop jumpchain without a second thought if my mom and dad didn't make me play them. When my builds are bad, they beat me savagely with a poker until I can't stand up, and all the while they yell "spacebattler" and "redditor" at me, and then I have to redo the build until they are satisfied. "He's never going to be a true jumper. I have no son," I hear my dad saying from the other room right now. I am crying yet I must persist, I thought that's why we're all here

Progress in your level of physical fitness can be difficult to measure actually. While you experience explosive gains when you first start out eventually you will run into diminishing returns and it will become difficult to measure your progress since your lifts won't really be going up in an appreciable fashion except over an extended timeframe.

>Alchemy [Full Metal Alchemist]
Also requires a good amount of training & studying to get good. Plus you need somekind of pre-made foci or alchemy circles in order to use it, unless you get the same special ability the protagonists had.

>Chi Magic [Jackie Chan Adventures]
It's a very ritualistic system that seems to require a significant amount of education & training to get good at, as well as a bunch of different components to actually make your spells work.

Goblin Slayer magic starts pretty limited, with you having like 1 or 2 spells you can cast per day, which aren't even all that great. Though it can get devently strong incebyou become more experienced.

Otherwise maybe Kara no Kyoukai? Assuming you limit yourself to only the basic perks you got very mediocre magic circuits and average skill at some basics with no magic crest, special talent or real growth potential.
>>93471675
Nta, but the effects can still be pretty useful and the power of spells got a pretty high growth potential alonside you.

Passing through the gate via human transmutation isn't unique. Mustang was forced to do it at the end of the series. Doesn't really help you need a decent grasp on chemistry to use Alchemy.

Harry Potter is both pretty low-power overall but also obscenely, ridiculously useful at essentially everything to the point of rendering almost every other magic system irrelevant below a certain power threshold. Like Harry Potter magic can do everything you can imagine for utility at practically no cost or effort but the number of Wizards who can easily blow up a multistory house can be counted on one hand.

Do you think that A Striving Soul from Kirby and the Forgotten Land would let my soul automatically use Aura from RWBY to protect me?
>A Striving Soul (600 CP): You may not resemble the being known as Fecto Elfilis in any other regard, but you have one thing in common: Your soul is unusually tenacious. Even if your body is melting down, even if you’re crippled or sickly or utterly exhausted, you can fight with all your terrible skill and focus until you’re physically unable to keep yourself falling apart. And once you do, you don’t immediately die. Your soul tries to keep your body alive at all costs, even if it means weakening it. Failing that, it remains as a mote of light. In this state you can do little more than perceive and float around looking for a new living vessel to inhabit, so long as you can win the ensuing clash of wills at least. Terrible forces can shred you apart further or even destroy you. But as long as you don’t give up, there’s always a hope that you can keep clinging to life.
>>
>>93471886
I do, yeah. A slightly modified version of Obito's Kamui in one eye and an OC power in the other. But I usually just keep the base Sharingan active. Both because I think it looks cool and also so that I can dramatically reveal my Mangekyo Sharingan if an opponent pushes me enough to do so.

It's a great writing prompt with more content being added all the time. And it's broadened my horizons by introducing me to properties I never would have glanced at normally, but end up enjoying.

On that note: Thanks to Karl_Franz for introducing me to World of Horror. I literally hadn't known about the game before I noticed the Jump and read enough to get interested. Now I'm chewing my way through the mysteries and slowly losing sanity points.

Also, thanks to Gene for introducing me to The Savior's Book Cafe in Another World. It was such a cute read. And it's always a special treat when adults who have given up on love happen to find it later in life. I always like that message.

I hope you two see this because you guys introduced me to new properties that I can't wait to add into my Chain somewhere.

Me with my “Hermit girl Jumper & their living toys” chain due to the fact that unlike other chains I had, each transition into the next world carried out by a slow reality shift that both the Jumper & companions are completely unaware of (at first). Didn’t want to pull the “world changed suddenly as jumper was sleeping!” card too early when dealing with drastically different worlds (& with a limited amount of jumps related around toys/toy settings at that) so I managed to solve the problem for myself days later by sticking to the mundane words first & then using the original SSB jump as the first big break that something “off” is going on from behind the scenes.

Finding stuff I didn't/wouldn't realize was of interest to me. Was made aware of a setting whose isekai system is a strangely useful flavor of bullshit. That shitty WC jump had me trying to put together a support squad that is a tiny bit practical and a lot of bit lewd, which pointed me in the direction of multiple series I barely heard of. Re:Monster is criminally underrated for lewd potential, let alone the actual results of lewds that happen in-setting. There's even a similarly heretical SB jump for it so one can double up on some of the waifus/in-setting loot.

Anon, Peter Pettigrew casually blew up an entire street, killing dozens of people, and brittain alone got dozens if not hundreds of wizards at hid level or better.

>begins distorting horrifically as damage piles up, eventually transforming into Jumper SOUL out of sheer refusal to fucking go into the darkness already
Seems kinda fun actually; instead of layering immortalities, fiat damage/ability immunities, or 1ups, just stacking an obnoxiously large number of extra health bars and transformations so you can keep saying "This isn't even my final form!" like the most tedious Dark Souls boss of all time. And then, naturally, you eventually wrap around back to the Shounen Line at some point to actually blow them the fuck out.

As I understand Herrschers are very powerful, and everyone knows that when you obtain great power you have to laugh evilly no matter what kind of person you are. That’s just the rule.
>>
>>93472184
You can tell how hard he was reaching by for some of them, or how one origins stuff was already in a different ones perks and he had no idea what the fuck to put in its place.

You really would get better results by using no blindspot PtV to instead fast track main characters to powerups.
>>
>>93472138
Out of cruel space has the schlob race, they are slime people. Also if they develop a sort of handicap where they start to have a baby but it doesnt fully form they exponentially grow in size and mental capacity for each additional core part that develops. Its torture for them. Also a cultural taboo leading to suicide for many!

Now it does escalate a lot but its not litrpg at least.
>>

Finding new stuff to nerd over, as well as having a cool writing prompt/thought exercise, and a community of people to talk to.

One of the things I am most happy about is finding, due to jumpchain games like Signalis, Cultist Simulator, Noita. I bought them and enjoyed them greatly.

That and the Jump authors here, are very cool. Like, Shard, pretty sure its him, after finishing the jump for Witch On The Holy Night, gave me enough reason to buy it, just so I can both enjoy it, and have the source material. Same with Dies Irae.

I love Jumpchain, its awesome.

In a broad sense, I can speed up, slow down, or even momentarily freeze time for anything within my field of vision and do so as long as I continue to stare at it uninterrupted. The most common use is to reduce the speed of an enemy or their attacks to make them easier to deal with. I can also make my own attacks much, much faster in order to make them nearly impossible to dodge. And I can freeze my opponent in time for short bursts, creating the illusion that I'm teleporting from their perspective unless they figure out what's going on from context clues. For example, I can freeze an incoming attack and simply step around it. I can freeze the flames of Amaterasu and simply walk through them. I can slow a target down, making it appear as if I'm moving at incredibly high speed. Or I can throw a kunai at them and accelerate time as I release it, causing it to move so fast it slices into their body before they can even react. It's an extremely versatile and dangerous ability with a lot of subtle applications.

But the real threat of my eyes is in their synergy. With Kamui I can pull anyone in close range into my Kamui dimension, wherein they are helpless and under my control. It's possible to avoid this by simply keeping out of its range. Except Kamiyo allows me to approach an enemy by slowing or locking them in place, making escape from Kamui's range impossible if I really want to hit you with it. However, Kamiyo has the problem that I need uninterrupted eye contact with my target. Meaning that if you can break my line of sight it becomes impossible for me to activate or maintain the effect. In addition, I can't use Kamiyo while Kamui is active as it requires me to be on the same plane as my opponent. So in order to affect something with Kamiyo, I'd need to deactivate Kamui.

For thematic reasons I am debating whether to be a bird instead of a rabbit in the Sonic jumps, but the only bird I can really see myself as is a crow/raven. I like those well enough, mind you, but I'm reminded that there are more rabbit options than raven options across the Chain, IIRC.

Time manipulation is an underutilized concept in Naruto considering all the space manipulating that people like to fling around. I actually came up with Kamiyo a long time ago when I was brainstorming Mangekyo powers. I wanted Kamui because it's busted but none of the other Mangekyo powers really fit its theming. So I had to come up with something to satisfy my autistic desire for my eyeball powers to not have random contrasting themes and naming conventions. This is also why every single chain I make where I take Tsukiyomi I am obligated to take Amaterasu desire it being vastly inferior to basically every other Mangekyo power.

PtV is explicitly incapable of seeing anything outside of Earth's atmosphere.
>>
>>93472691
Nta but he might be referring to the shard/host broadcast range. IIRC most powers would fail either in low orbit or just past the moon. Something about shards conserving energy by limiting their range to near the Earth. I guess broadcasting in millions or billions of parallel universes costs nothing, because Parahumans don't have a problem using their powers outside of their native universe, they just can't stray far from the Earth(s).

It really shouldn't stop PtV from reacting to threats that come to them, though

Do any of you guys have a favourite or go to gun? When I don't go for the Blame! GBE I find the Anders gun to be pretty good.

>Dragon fire rifle (200): An incredibly light yet sturdy rifle that acts as a mini-gauss gun. With each shot it accelerates several very small (d<1mm) round bullets of depleted uranium to 1/4ththe speed of light. This makes every single shot armor piercing and incredibly hot and destructive. When fired it looks like some sort of futuristic energy weapon ejecting extremely hot blue energy bolts, the width of a pencil. The rifle can fire single rounds or repeated automatic fire. If you buy this here your rifles’ battery (for the magnetic field to work) will never run dry. One magazine holds several thousand bullets.

This can be a goddess from any pantheon west of India (excluding India) other than the Egyptian and the Norse. >Wyverns: are not Dragons, but are vaguely related somehow and are tamable by Greenskins; they usually do this by punching them in the snouts to assert dominance, and apparently this is the only way to earn a Wyvern's respect
>Pegasi: Warhammer Pegasi are weird, they fly using the Winds of Magic in addition to their wings and are IIRC omnivorous to a shocking degree
>Hippogryphs: are faster and more agile than Gryphons, but don't hit as hard and can't tank as hard
>Gryphons: that thing Karl Franz rides around, they're pretty cool
>Carnosaurs: not as big as Dread Saurians but still entirely capable of hunting Dragons
>Giant Bears: if Ursun likes you enough, he'll just send a giant bear to be your friend
>Mammoths: because of course there are mammoths in the Chaos Wastes, it's cold up there
>Ancient Stegadons: a meat-eating Triceratops/Ankylosaurus hybrid that can have a signal tower for ORBITAL OLD ONE LASERS on its back if you believe TWW3

So dumb question but any idea what sort of color scheme I should do for my jumpers outfit/general vibe if there a elemental user? They can use a whole bunch of them at this point including the core four and light and dark (no life/wood though). So I'm not sure how to rock that other then a rainbow but rainbows are kinda garish if there not done right.

I personally treat it kind of like Knowledge of the Sowa possessed by F/SN Assassin. People can see you and look at what you do and they just faintly feel something missing from the world itself in your presence.
Not so much a tangible absence, but the way events progress around you are noticeably different from when you're absent if someone paid close attention, and yet it continues to work even after people become aware of it and start trying to counter whatever it is you're doing that makes you inexplicably more effective than anyone that opposes you.

[High Elves redux]

"FOR TOR YVRESSE!"

Aenarion came upon the greenskins like a tide of crimson flame, cutting down scores with every flailing swing despite the WAAAAAGH energy buffeting against him like storms of raw animality. Too late, he found a fat green fiend letting forth it's guttural laughter as a loyal handmaiden of the Everqueen (who wasn't Morathi) lay disembowelled. Moments from the brink of death. So unprecedented was the strength and focus of these invaders that his people had not thought to call him until they had breached the outer perimeter, and such was his haste that with the Widowmaker arcing through the army behind him, Sunfang still lodged in the torso of a stubborn greenskin clinging to it beside him and his dozen other flying swords dancing circles through the rest of the greenskin army Aenarion was left unarmed when the great greenskin advanced on him.

And so, Aenarion defeated Grom the Paunch with the last available weapon at hand: A headbutt so powerful it left a crater next to the dying elf.

"M-my king...you must...must not mourn" choked out the handmaiden as he knelt desperately at her side.

"Say no more! Your service shall be remembered in Ulthuan's annals, but not your sacrifice!" cried Aenarion, desperately trying to remember how resurrection magic worked as the haze of battle started to abate. Damn every magic system more complicated than enchanting a sword and slaming it into something. "I am sorry. I am a warrior first and foremost, but I can at least cleanse your wounds until the Everqueen arrives, surely she can..."

"...take, take my...before it's too late..." she muttered, fumbling for her pouch

"No, no, no it is never too late my friend! I will not bar the door to Chaos merely to suffer my people to perishing from so...ODIOUS a threat!" he pleaded, weeping tears of fire. "Whatever message or trinket you have, deliver it yourself when you are made well!"

"...Book of the Phoenix" she gurgled, slumping.

Aenarion paused. "Oh. Well, now I just feel silly" he said, taking out the book.

"H-haha...h-happens to the b-best of us..." giggled the dying handmaiden,

The handmaiden gave him a thumbs up as she at last expired, only to erupt into flames and from the ashes reform healthier than ever. She politely curtsied, and then went on her merry way as Aenarion contemplated how conveniently owning a printable source of resurrections was.

"Well, that was startling" said Astarielle casually, riding over to him. "I've never seen such a powerful goblin host. By Isha, I'll have to distribute more Books of the Phoenix lest someone actually DIE in the line of battle since..." Astarielle trailed off. "...well, I'm sure we've had SOME violent deaths at SOME point in history. If only there was a quick and easy way to produce a lot of magical books at once"

"Astarielle, remind me to tell you about a fascinating invention from the future called the printing press"

[Daughters of Khaine redux]

>The Age of Myth

"And that, Sigmar, is how the elven equivalent of the Reformation began" I concluded as we loomed above the world known as Azyr. He as a presence of thunder, I as one of fire, leaves and blood. "The arcane-medical complex raised some serious questions about how sacrosanct the word of Asuryan was, which-"

"Wait, wait, hold on" said Sigmar slowly, "so you're saying your people had a MECHANISM OF PERFECT RESURRECTION that they could just PRINT"

"Hardly perfect. I mean it you had to read a verse, and the magic was like. Once per battle. And UNTIL I INVENTED THE PRINTING PRESS it was so rare only Belannaer reliably had a copy, did I ever tell you about Belannaer-"

"But there are no side effects?" he urged me. "No, no loss of humanity? Sorry, elfity"

"What? No!"

"No...infusions, of divine essence?"

"No more so than the elves already had, I suppose?"

Sigmar proceeded to grill me on a wide array of topics about the specifics of the Book, which I found completely baffling. It was literally just fanfiction about Asuryan. I tried to tell him at several point that as a god, as in fact the closest thing his sorry excuse of a pantheon had to Asuryan (I had already refused to associate myself with the cavalcade of fuckups that presided over the Mortal Realms after Grimnir Leeroy Jenkins'd himself), SURELY he could just...create his own resurrective fanfiction? Or the equivalent thereof.

But no. As we continued talking Sigmar looked increasingly like a fratbro who had been told the assignment was not only due yesterday but he had completely misunderstood it.

"...is everything alright?"

"Y-yes! Everything is FINE! Azyr is a beacon of hope and justice in the Mortal Realms, and there have definitely been no beastman genocides" he said, sweating. "And the process of creating Stormcast is DEFINITELY going according to plan!"

"That's. Good to know?"

"I DEFINITELY know what I'm doing with Grungni's hammer!"

"It's a hammer Sigmar, I can't imagine even you could fuck it up that bad" I said dismissively. "Look, whatever you're clearly trying to hide-don't worry about it. I'm just going out for a short while to clean house. I may be some time. I just have one. Simple. Task I expect even you and the other divine middle managers to deal with. The rats in the walls"

Sigmar let out a girlish scream. "You know?! Y-you can't tell any of the others! You just can't!"

"Oh for fuck's-YES, Sigmar, a shard of Asuryan lives on in me, YES Asuryan did watch over the entire mortal world, and YES even this avatar of mine can see the fucking ratmen I missed back when I was treating this world with kid gloves! Look you've got dwarf airships and budget Space Marines! They're just RATS, Sigmar! It'll be FINE" I said, trying to be supportive while also being fed up.

As I stormed off aimlessly into the abstract void, mortal prayer caught my ear and resonated with the shard of Khaine also within me. Confused, I incarnated towards the source and found a handful of Daughters of Khaine praying to what looked like am Avatar of Khaine stolen before it could be remodelled into Morathi.

"Y-you see?! KHAINE LIVES! Morathi is a filthy heretic for claiming to be the last living god of the old world! Oh great lord of blood, you have at last heard our sacrifices! Hear our plea! Reclaim your throne and lead us to true glory!" implored the blood-drunk priestess at the alter. Behind her, what looked like an extremely sorry version of cult of Khaine stared at me hopefully. There were wannabe murder lolis still tripping in their Har Ganeth cosplay outfits. There were monstergirls, because of fucking course I couldn't go anywhere without monstergirls re-evolving into existence.

"Oh hell no, I'm not paying child support for children I didn't even agree to adopt" I said, preparing to walk back through the fire. The priestess froze. "Sisters, do not doubt! Khaine tests our faith with bloody ruthlessness! See how he whittles the edge of our faith like his blades!"

"Okay NO, I'm not doing a Sithrak, I want to be absolutely clear I have NO affiliation with your organisation, I'm literally just here to murder the Bigger Chaos Gods because the rest of your pantheon is useless"

"Wait, there are Bigger Chaos Gods?"

"...yes"

"BEHOLD, BRETHREN! And sistren! A divine revelation from Khaine!"

"I'm NOT bloody Khaine you crimson strumpets! I'm just a very naughty boy with a big sword!" I shouted, fuming at this unwanted sidequest. The high priestess gave me kicked puppy eyes. The foremost murderloli looked like her dad had just ripped up her teddy bear in front of her.

I continued seething for a few more seconds as I worked out what to do.

4/6
>>
>>93474666
"FINE. Here. Resurrection fanfiction" I grumbled, slapping a Book of the Phoenix into the murderloli's hands, and Summoning Greater Printing Press with a snap of my fingers. "Go away. Stop bothering me"

"Great Khaine, as grateful as we are for this miracle we were expecting erm...more murder..."

"And I SAID I'm not paying child support, take it or leave it"

>The Age of Fire

Chaos had returned, and I too had returned to kill it. I noticed that many of the Stormcast I was fighting alongside had lost their humanity and gained the traits of storms, and congratulated Sigmar on his accomplished indoctrination of his followers.

...
...after ripping off Doombreed's head, I learned that this was not, in fact, intentional. I shrugged, and reminded him of the rat problem. He made his excuses and fucked off to job to Archaon not long after, instead of confirming his storm AND FATE powers easily dealt with the Skaven through their primitive electronics.

"Wait, where are YOU going?" I asked a passing and cripplingly injured Stormcast.

"To be resurrected by your followers. They say they hold the key to true resurrection, bereft of losing humanity! They may be my last chance to remember the faces of my grandchildren" he said hopefully.

"...and your god still hasn't? You're. You're seriously trusting the MURDER ELF CULT I gave some of my old garbage to over your own god?"

He silently removed a gauntlet, showing how thunderclouds had replaced a once-human hand. "Well, I was recently told to abandon loyal human settlements to aid your wife and son in battle, so" he said with the despair of an immortal industrial-miliatry complex victim. "I just see this as cutting out the middleman"

>The Age of Morathi

I returned soaked in the blood of Bigger Chaos Gods expecting to find the Mortal Realms in working order.

Instead, Blight City had crashed into the Mortal Realms and was spilling out untold numbers of Skaven

By Morathi.

"I'm such a BAD god! I'M A DIRTY LITTLE KNOW-NOTHING BARBARIAN BULLY! I DESERVE to be punished!" he moaned through his ballgag. "I'M S-SORRY EVERYONE, I CAN'T BEAR THIS RESPONSIBILITY WITHOUT. PEGGING!"

"Okay so in my defence? I wasn't actually expecting him to pour literally Azyr's entire national funds into my Onlyfans just to entertain a...particular request" said Morathi, who looked almost as perplexed as I was about the sheer ineptitude on display.

Initially since James Workshop was going all-in on Sigmar being the somehow-worse God-Emperor of Mankind, I assumed that given the trend of him being a mistrustful and heavy-handed brute with absolutely terrible judgement of his own allies that he’d be far too possessive of his own forces to entrust them to another god. And so it’d be in my interests to just let him slowly fall apart banging his head on complex problems.

…however, I underestimated the sheer level of ineptitude AoS Sigmar was written with to the extent that the Ruinous Chamber, Stormcast literally FALLING APART and used as a last resort, is now a thing Sigmar thinks is a good idea to reveal at a time where the ratpocalypse is already fucking over everyone despite NOT RETALIATING FOR OVER 20 YEARS for Anvilgard. And like. In a sense by default since I’ve already given the DoK (well, Daughters of Morathi in my timeline) the Asuryan resurrection fanfiction so they’ll shut up, increasingly they kind of already are at 2 removes. There’s probably a few heretical chambers with split loyalties simply because the DoM have them by the balls in terms of actually functional resurrections.

I don’t want to end up being everyone’s dad/uncle but god fucking damn it feels like the setting really will fall apart if I’m don’t.

Effectively Game Workshop are Skaven who can only hold their Vile nature for so long before doing something retarded, evil, incompetent, etc etc and them trying their damned hardest to destroy or weaken the money printing machines that are there lifeblood, even not doing things that would make them money like the whole new faction they do nothing with or just the constant kneecaps/self sabotage to eldar in general or even just doing something new like i don’t know that huge bug alien empire close to the imperium while it is distracted with current events doing something. Game Workshop is run by idiots who constantly try to strangle the golden goose that is fighting for its life who just wants to give them gold. Granted that description fits so many businesses nowadays.

So, I like Jurai technology in general. How overpowered would running an empire that runs on Jurai tech be compared to what's going on in Stellaris? I get the feeling Lighthawk Wings and ring worlds large enough to encircle three systems seems a tad nutty compared to the usual fare.
Actually, in general how would you rank Jurai/Tenchi Muyo stuff compared to other popular scifi settings we have Jumps for?

Honestly the real tragedy is that somehow, orks aren’t anywhere near as fun in Fantasy as they are in 40K.

>>93474839
Okay but consider

1. Diomedes, who unlike many of the heroes in the Illiad is 100% a mere mortal that just happens to be Athena’s favourite mortal ever, wounded and drove off Aphrodite and Ares. AND had to be told to fuck off by Apollo, Zeus too in some tellings, when he tried to attack him. And don’t tell me Athena amped him or anything, all she did was guide his spear.

2. Thanatos, the actual grim reaper, was caught by Sisyphus in a bag.

3. Fictional settings sometimes wank different gods the author likes more super, super hard. Like Odin doesn’t shake galaxies in Norse myth like he does in Marvel. Galaxies aren’t even a thing.

>>93474832
Simple, by making those allies as retarded (or in the case of Malerion-Malekith’s IP-friendly new name-simply refusing to acknowledge his existence in most places) as a Sigmar who has forgotten ALL the lessons he learned on the path to godhood as a mortal, and just flat out ignoring those resources so the plot can happen.

The most amazing part is despite being more incompetent than the Emperor, Sigmar ALSO has a much better track record against Chaos somehow.

>>93474938
It is a metaphor for how thoroughly embarrassing Sigmar’s role and contributions to the setting are.

>>93474865
Nope.

>>93474970
The thing about Jurai technology from what I understand is that it’s technology in the sense that New God technology is technology, which is to say it works more like a bunch of golems/sentient beings that have hyperdimensional god parts stuffed into them.

Anyway, re: Stellaris it’s…it’s solidly up there. It basically starts at a high-end Stellaris civilisation BEFORE it reaches the point it can achieve Shroud apotheosis, or create it’s own universe.
>>
>>93474979
>Nope.
Disappointing. I heard about it being a Complete Suffering Engine and wanted to see what sort of jump that might make for.
>>
>>93474970
By default, assuming you haven't taken any drawbacks, the Stellaris jump doesn't have you encounter any EGCs nor any Crisis Aspirant empires.
You should be fine.
>>
>>93474978
I think it is about how Sigmar is in fantasy vs how he is acting in Aos which is very out of character considering all he got up in life, the lessons he learned and what he did with said lifetime before becoming a god vs in Aos him acting more like the Emperor does in 40k with him doing baffling things that are dumb and screw himself over when he should know better.
>>
>>93474970
Just to be clear, Stellaris civs aren’t completely outmatched. There are ways for them to compete; gamewise with sufficient firepower and fleets you can blow everything from solar system-engulfing nanoswarms to interdimensional horrors to kingdom come. It’s even technically possible to fight the End of the Cycle’s toll and win. Lorewise civs can potentially pick up everything from machines calculating every facet of reality, to species-wide psychic powers with strong battlefield applications, to an alliance of sorts with not!tyranids. Even before you get into endgame scenarios that rewrite reality, there are arguments to be made a Stellaris civ with a lot of cash to spare and time to ramp up CAN take on the Jurai empire.

It’s just that the Jurai empire starts off at levels of development that most Stellaris civs would treat as something like a Fallen Empire in good form that has managed to build their own Guardians. The issue is assuming you mean the Jurai Empire and NOT their secretive patron gods, they don’t really have a way to scale/ramp up without research and development like everyone else as Stellaris civs escalate. Trees get weaker every generation, there isn’t really a way to make more cabbits without a quirky scientist goddess contributing (who is also usually responsible for like, the most powerful superweapons. The reality hole-punching ones). They still have quite impressive military capacity even outside LHW shit, it’s just good but on par rather than dominant.

Basically the Jurai Empire vs Stellaris is an actual war open to debate, but the moment you bring in the Chousin and Tenchi it’s more a question of how much they actually care about the setting and whether they can stop doing harem shenanigans for like 5 hours to actually focus on conquering the universe (they can’t)
>>
>>93475011
What if you've taken 5000 CP worth of drawbacks (Fanatic Splitters, Leviathan Bait, Dimensional Breach, Subspace Echoes, Ghost Signal, Times Twenty Five, Escalator of Violence)?
>>
>>93475014
This. Sigmar’s entire legend is about growing into power and wisdom. About learning to give and take between disparate tribes of man, overcoming his own inner demons to throw off Nagash’s corruption then crush him and dealing with betrayal from those closest to him.

The god Sigmar is portrayed as in AoS has learned absolutely nothing that the man Sigmar did. If Ulric foresaw what Sigmar had become, he’d have never given him godhood.

>>93475027
Also per what I said above, you’re kind of fucked then. Even the Jurai empire has it’s limits.
>>
>>93474970
Don't know much about Tecnhi Muyo, but the strongest threats you can face in Stellaris are planet cracking Colossi weapons, Star Eater super weapons that can annihilate an entire solar system in a single shot, Extradimensional Entities with ships made of psionic energy that fire Matter Dintegrators and can drain life from planets till their barren husks, Capital ship sized physical avatars of Psionic Spirits and Eldritch Abominations, and as of the most recent update, Cosmogenesis Empires that can temporarily rewrite the laws of physics to make the universe more accommodating to their ideals.

So if Jurai tech can deal with all of that, you're good.
>>
>>93475027
I should have seen this coming.
That you haven't taken the drawback that makes the EGCs spawn faster is a pretty big saving grace, especially since without Hostile Galaxy you should be? able to play Federation Builder.
Fanatic Splitters in this case might be worse than Leviathan Bait but alot of this does depend on what you do with your 5000 CP.
>>
>>93475047

>>
>>93474970
I'd say Jurai would count as basically a Fallen Empire that hasn't, you know, fallen. They've got a massive starting advantage but it remains to be seen if they can keep that edge, though given they can make battle-moons and shit pretty casually I'd say they're likely to do alright. It's also easy to forget but they're all the next best thing to immortal so all their best and brightest aren't going to just randomly die of old age and take their expertise with them unless something comes along and kills them. It's also easy to forget but Seto, the iirc dowager queen of Jurai (and also known as the devil princess for her constant matchmaking shenanigans and manipulations) is actually Naja, Washu's best friend and contemporary super-scientist from back when Washu was still at the super space university / institute and thus presumably is capable of coming up with and inventing some pretty crazy shit all on her own if need be.

Finally started watching the next two Crisis movies. Wow, they really don't know how to write anything except depression and suffering-and I mean that the most depressing and suffering-filled parts are actually written decently. Characters have weird pauses in both conversation and motion. Superman isn't really allowed to refute the horrific state of the DC multiverse at an ideological level or given any time to bond with Kara about what a great place Earth is, it's a pure struggle for survival. The Monitor and his species' motivations boil down to "because I fucking said so, even if on some level I know I'm being a cunt", just like in Final Crisis. They put a sentient gorilla with the last boy on earth without explaining shit just to have an excuse for a fight scene. The only character who doesn't feel like he's going through the motions to think or do whatever the plot needs him to alone is Psycho Pirate the plot armoured sociopath, and both him and his actor are clearly having the time of their lives.

Uh and to make it Jumpchain related, when I got to DC I forced Psycho Pirate to broadcast Taylor Swift songs in the Dark Multiverse 24/7.

>>93475841
>read through genre known for having minimal effort until fucking ensues
>get minimal effort
I don't even know what you were expecting. They can't even write an Azula gangbang right without devolving into Zucest because the audience wants Zucest with every fibre of their being, even though she's been wrung out and publically used by then. As for OC based comics, they start with terrible pun names and end with best girl not being fucked nearly enough.

Unironically, write the fapfiction you want or prepare for disappointment. Not everyone is Salarta or Slutwriter.

Is there a jump for Mashle?
>>
>>93475864
No, and frankly it's too mid to deserve one.
>>
>>93475854
The problem with DC movies can be tied directly to the successes of Batman's movies. See-executives and directors saw those successes, and the lesson they came away with wasn't "Depressing and struggling themes make for good Batman movies", they heard "depression and struggling themes make for good movies". And then they applied this to ALL DC MOVIES from then on. Batman's themes-of being a lone dark knight strugglling against ideological evil and being the peak of humanity fighting against a crushing tide of madness-were applied to literally every other DC character, with very few exceptions regardless of how fitting it would be for said character or even if it really fit the plot of the movies.
>>

>>93475854
Reading what you are saying about it make me want to not know about it.
>>
>>93475875
I get that, but I'd argue that problem was present in the comics long before Batman Begins. It was also the same basic idea for Infinite Crisis. "Depression and struggling good, optimism bad".

Honestly at a certain point I think it says more about the creatives in both the comics and animation as well as film divisions that despite notionally having no connection to each other, none of them seem to know how to write anything except doom and degradation anymore.

Jet lag sucks.

So normally I'd have the energy to write a story or something but right now my stomach still thinks it's in Switzerland and my head thinks we're still on the plane. The important thing is because we have a Cathay jump and it's my fault my 'tism wants to collect the elven pantheon shards like pokemon and finds the shapeshifter background redundant now even though Cathay has nothing to do with the elf saga.

It's very unclear because AFAIK Asuryan is the only one who does it. He also gives the Phoenix Guard knowledge of the elven race's future (yeah they knew the End Times was happening and just fucking played along). Elsewhere there are other examples of the Old World gods having sway over life and death: Wood elves have a kind of reincarnation thing going on particularly in the case of Orion, there's a Nehekharan cursed by his gods into a The Mummy expy, it's assumed Ulric and the other human patrons are all chilling together on some divine plane (but were presumably offscreened by Chaos)

But Asuryan is the only one, to my knowledge, that does the resurrection fanfiction thing. He is also like, supposedly super buff even by Warhammer god standards. Even though the explanation for where the elven pantheon came from is identical to the one for where the AoS gods came from (survivors of the previous version of reality, brought to godlike power) and the AoS gods should theoretically have more potential because in their reality magic is properly mixed up with reality instead of being separated like by forces like the Great Vortex (Ereth Khial at least was spinning around there before Nagash dragged her out in ET and she landed in Tyrion's squire). So you'd think they'd be better at resurrection.

But NOPE, the Asuryan fanfics are just straight up no iffs or buts resurrections compared to Sigmar's shitty Stormcast project. In all fairness, Nagash does have a stranglehold on death in AoS but actually no that's bullshit because if even Morathi can trap souls beyond death and Teclis can invent some kind of enlightenment tier system the other gods should easily be able to. So actually no, Sigmar is still just an idiot with resurrection skill issues.

This. Gilgamesh's arguments only sound impressive if you're 12 and have never had a serious ideological disagreement with another human being in your life. If anything the fact that he actually managed to convince Kirei isn't a selling point for his Charisma stat, especially with how many Servants actually manage to stand up to Gil and tell him to fuck off, it's a condemnation of the Church's hiring practices targetting sociopaths and career opportunists. Like the shota who's implied to be the current body of one of their corrupt but highly competent priests, the leader of the Burial Agency who has somehow browbeaten the other members into submission or fucking Kiara from the Tsukihime timeline.

>>93476654
If Urobuchi wanted to write an accurate Catholic priest struggling with his inner demons, he'd have just had Kirei fuck an alter boy. But to be fair, the real Catholic church doesn't have a special martial arts technique for piercing metal with thrown objects or a working relationship with ancient vampires either.
>>
>>93476577
Not meeting Gilgamesh and having him settle on simply being unhappy but following Christian morality is the best thing for him and everyone, as seen by him being just a normal magical priest in worlds where he doesn't meet Gilgamesh.
>>93476642
Gilgamesh has super-charisma, and Kirei actually ended up being corrupted by Angra's mud.

If he got into the whole thing seriously and followed all the rules he'd definitely end up happier. Doms are in high demand so he'd have no problem finding someone to torture, he'd do it safely and without risk to anyone involved, and he'd not have Catholic guilt telling him that he's unworthy of existing.

Shard, this is gonna sound like a very dumb question but I'm compelled to ask it out of autism regardless. Is Sword Logic anti-entropic? I mean, I know it's paracausal, that's fucking obvious. No, I mean-does one get more out of Sword Logic than they put into it? Assuming you're not constantly feeding ever-fattening Worms and losing your Sword Logic that way...

Fuck it, let's go for an example. Let's say that, through the Ascension perk, I get the Sword Logic domain of [Farming]. So I'll grow in power the more I farm. So I farm a plot of land, and gain power-but after a time my farm's soil is depleted and can't be farmed again without outside resources to revitalize it (I know this can be avoided with careful farming practices like crop rotation and strategic farming but shhh it's an example). So I invest the Sword Logic I gained from the act of farming back into the farm, revitalizing the soil and hopefully empowering it so that my next cycle of farming generates more power than the previous. But does it? Do I actually get enough power from this act of farming to not just fully revitalize the soil, but also empower the farm/crops and make more power in the next cycle? Or does this act not generate enough power to fully revitalize the soil, and thus I'm at a net loss in this process?

>Is the Sword Logic anti-entropic?
It would be more accurate to say the Darkness as a whole is aentropic. The ideology of the Witness and the Winnower aside, the most direct example of this is Eris using Guardians as tithing tools surpassing every Hive God in history and then giving up the power with no ill consequences. This is based strictly on the Guardians' capacity to kill Xivu's forces, and at most also the Guardians' own killcount. They outdid the entire history of the Hive's killing sprees in a couple weeks at most because they were killing other Hive.

>Hive God of Farming
Yes, this actually should work. The primary limiter of the Hive isn't the Sword Logic in itself, it's the worms imbued in them eating said logic. Oryx realised this to an extent at least, it's why he murdered his own Worm God patron to gain communion with either the Darkness/Deep/Winnower or the Witness depending on what direction Bungie decides the Hive God family drama should go in (I know there are strong arguments it really was the Winnower but hear me out: The Witness was also described as the original master of the Taken, the Witness has shown the ability to talk to people through avatars that don't look like itself, and ALL the Witness would have to do to emulate the Winnower is just fake not being autistic for like 5 sentences' worth of time). Another example of this is that after going her whole existence not daring to lift a finger against Rhulk directly, the moment she got the Light as well as her worm extracted Savathun managed to seal Rhulk in his Pyramid AND disable the Upended. Though really, the best example of all is the fact that Oryx could resurrect entire Hive Gods through singular acts of war and cunning.

>>
>>93476740
Subs are not really into what actually gives Kirei's pleasure.
Kirei gets off in things like Kariya being mind-broken into strangling his crush. Or feeding orphans to Gilgamesh so they can suffer a slow death from months.
He is closer to Gilles and Ryuunosuke than he is to someone getting up from a few slaps and some minutes of nipple clamps before it causes any actual damage.
>>
>>93476785
Thank you. I know it was autistic but the question had been tickling my brain and I couldn't quite settle it myself. Now I can get back to my previous Jumpchain activities of harnessing Sword Logic through the act of [Artifice] (my actual domain, I was just using Farming as an example) to Craft things harder and harder as well as truly terrible advantage of the power of Atelier-style alchemy loops.
>and ALL the Witness would have to do to emulate the Winnower is just fake not being autistic for like 5 sentences' worth of time
Counterpoint: do you think the Witness is physically, mentally, spiritually, or paracausally capable of such a feat?
>>

>>
>>93476820
I'll be generous and say it could probably manage four whole sentences of hiding its autistic powerlevel, with plenty of prep and a genuine fondness for someone. It's not super broken or anything but I enjoy Sheer Force Slaking w/Life Orb. Slaking are really strong, with Truant being the trade off. Swap out Truant for something else and they're already good. Sheer force increases damage by 30% but removes secondary effects (like a move won't deal burn, for example). Life Orb increases damage by 30% but causes a 10% recoil self damage each move. Sheer Force considers this a secondary effect and stops the recoil.

That's a fanwank moment because I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure how much of that is a game mechanic. As long as it's nothing overly crazier than what's in Elden Ring I don't see why not though? I assumed the dryleaf guys were using the upgrade materials like rubbing chalk for serious lifters, and just scrubbing the effects into their fists, which seems pretty transferable to anything else that's like "coating of damaging goo" but not like a Kamen Rider watch or something.

>That's a fanwank moment because I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure how much of that is a game mechanic.
100% game mechanic, as far as I'm concerned. I don't believe for a second that the dryleaf guys do or need any smithing on their martial art, that's just silly. (And it's specifically the martial art, not the body/fists/feet themselves, since it doesn't transfer between Dryleaf Arts, Dane's Footwork, or normal useless unarmed punches.)

I was assuming the perk made the game mechanic real.

>As long as it's nothing overly crazier than what's in Elden Ring I don't see why not though?

Huh. Good point. Yeah like I said, I never thought about it too hard until now, really just wrote down what I remembered from the game.
>>
Reminder that in Elden Ring, you were supposed to have an entire quest line involving a Silver Tear NPC. She would actually request permission to bond with your body and become a part of you as part of you both becoming the Lord of Night. The Mimic Tear summon was originally acquired from this quest line and is you literally summoning her from inside of your body, which is both why it's so busted, why she transforms into a copy of you, and why it costs HP instead of FP to summon. It was also supposed to be the main respec and redesign mechanic of the game. You'd absorb Larval Tears at graces and your Mimic Tear would reshape you from the inside out into a new form with radically different abilities. The whole addition of Rennala being the respec lady and the mirror in the Roundtable Hold remaking your appearance were last minute additions to account for the fact that this whole quest line got cut but they still needed all this stuff in the game.

While the quest line was cut, all of this is still theoretically possible if you merge a Mimic Tear with another being.
>>
>>93478021
I don't play FOTMSoft gaymes, so I don't care.
>>
>>93478021
Why was it cut?
>>
>>93478031
Nobody really knows. There's still files in the game related to the whole quest line and all of its mechanics but it's not finished and large parts were removed. It's presumed to have been removed because of time constraints, design choices, or conflict with other content.

There's a huge amount of cut content in Elden Ring. But probably the biggest ones were the Mimic Tear quest which would've focused on the Eternal Cities and added a Lord of Night ending and Kale's quest which was tied into the Frenzied Flame ending where he'd search for his lost people, find them underneath Leyndell, go mad with grief and pain, and beg you to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame to end his people's eternal damnation and suffering. That was pure kino and it sucks that it got cut. Kale quietly crying and whispering "May chaos take the world..." is a hell of a lot more compelling than Shabriri screeching autistically at some random grace in Mountaintops.

Like anon said, FromSoft's creative process is a mystery. There was at one point supposed to be a questline where you had the option of siding with Malenia and Miquella, and bringing about some kind of Age of Plenty (you still have the option to fight Malenia out of nowhere). Other dialogue indicated that at one point Hoarah Loux and Goldmask were supposed to be the same character (?!), and he was going to be a mentor-type NPC that explained some stuff about how the world worked and hyped you up to go become Elden Lord but also hoped himself to reclaim Marika (it's not entirely clear how he thought/the game was going to make that work, just like in the base game it's not entirely clear how much Marika actually matters in all the Golden Order endings).

>>93478105

>>
>>93478207
Yeah, Shabriri is just not the right spokesperson and Hyetta doesn't have the knowledge or presence to really sell it. Because of the cuts the actual context of the Frenzied Flame loses all of its meaning. It becomes 2-dimensional evil instead of what it's supposed to be, which is the philosophical concept that existence under the Golden Order and the whole structure of the Lands Between is fundamentally eternal suffering and that by merging all things into the One Great you can basically bring about Instrumentality and and end all suffering while freeing everyone from the eternal cycle of existence. With Kale and the revelations of his peoples' fate serving to underline the fact that ending existence isn't necessarily evil but rather a cruel mercy. Which, agree or disagree, is a hell of a lot more compelling than "AW YEAH LET'S SET EVERYTHING ON FIRE AND DESTROY THE UNIVERSE!!!"

Jumper and his foxfu decided to get married, and in a seeming act of redemption and peace, invited the meddling detectives who had so often foiled their evil plans to the wedding. Naturally, this was, in fact, a trap, with the villainous couple trying to attach the detectives to the fireworks to both eliminate them and provide a romantic show. Bad news, the detectives escaped the death trap and foiled Jumper and his foxfu once again. Good news, the event was romantic enough that the two decided to have an actual wedding later, after they escaped justice once again and shouted out the usual 'Damn you, Detectives!' as they fled.

The real wedding was very romantic, set in Jumper's latest evil space station with a great view of the Earth, and was attended by all of their evil minions.

Yes, my point is that the book, based on her, has a completely different pcharacter as protagonist, making her a bs inexistant character, like you said about CRC.
Many of those had better explanations than "it's too magical", I don't really like when an ability is simply overpowered, like memetic Goku.
Thank you for the answer anyway.

No? Alice Anotherbible exists within the setting. It's Alice Liddell after being warped by the idea of Alice and it's something different from both.
CRC does not. Never did. He was an oc from start to finish and people thinking it was real did not give JVA any power. JVA just roleplays as CRC to fuck with people cause he's mad his oc got more popular than him.
He's not even a transcend

If you mean in the sense that Alice in wonderland and CRC are strong cause they basically memes and not real people then sure, but its not why the character in setting are so strong

Hey Ric, got a question on Re-Spec from DxD. Are you reallocating your own stats with it or are you assigning the internal reserves of the sacred gear?

Also how difficult would it be to gather enough energy to 'buy' things like the Devil magic system or Phenex immortality?

>I know about water, that's why I drank them, a little pleasure, but didn't knew about that.
Its the whole reason Gatorade and its various derivitives were developed in the first place. When you work out and sweat a lot your body loses more than just water, its also expelling lots of salts and the like in your sweat and urine. So things like gatorade, powerade, posca, and switchel are made to both rehydrate yourself and also replace the loss of electrolytes your bopdy is now lacking.
Coincidentally, that loss of electrolytes is also why your body craves salty food after doing lots of manual labor and work outside. Its to replace the salt you expelled in your sweat

Kind reminder that DxD has a ton of useless Devils attack during the Asia retrival arc. Honestly, a good portion of the Khaos Brigade is useless idiots, that only have their bloodline going for them, and Diodora.

Re-spec does say you can absorb energy from the environment, or other idiots. So, when Diodora does his idiot plan, just tag along and confiscate all the abilities they have, its not like they are going to use them, with all them dead.

>Anon the thing at its base lets you mess with your energy/powers and stats
Right I get that, it's just that reading made it sound like the Sacred Gear has a pool which you allocate to boosting certain stats previously.

With the clarification that it actually reallocates our own stats around, like moving our speed to strength or magic power to durability, I'm now asking what the balance breaker does with the energy it steals
>The regular Balance Breaker is an armband that allows the user to ‘steal’ energy and magic from the ambient and enemies, while permanently increasing its own.
Prior to unlocking the sub species that lets us spend that energy on new abilities?

Sorry if I was being obtuse.

>>
>>93479808
Wouldn't it be pretty obvious that that stolen energy would get used how you originally thought it would? It doesn't have any sort of energy reserve to start with so it only reallocates what you already have, but if you use the Balance Breaker to build up a reserve then you can use that to boost your stats too. Then the Subspecies also lets you spend that on new skills or traits.

The very first series of events that happen in Alice in Wonderland is Alice thinking her sister is basic as fuck for reading textbooks, roasting her for being boring, roaming off to chase down a rabbit because she thinks it's silly-looking, falling down a massive hole and then in the midst of falling gets bored, lounges in mid-air, and starts picking things off the shelves as she falls to bide her time until she hits the bottom.

I mean, she's not the worst. She's just traumatized as fuck after listening to her sister be violently raped, her house being burned down by the guy who did it to hide the evidence, which killed her entire family except for her, only to end up in an orphanage run by that very same guy who's become obsessed with brainwashing her into a literal prostitute so he can turn her into a surrogate sex slave due to her older sister rejecting his advances before he raped and murdered her.

She actually gets better towards the end when she overcomes her trauma and murders his ass. Or maybe worse, considering the severe schizophrenic. But at least she's a lot more stable and not as weighed down by emotional baggage.

>>
>>93480273
There are a few but they're mostly negligible. As other anons mentioned, you need human sacrifices to create them. But the actual quality of the sacrifices don't matter. Their actual purpose is to serve as an anchor for the soul in the impure world, not as an actual host. Their body disintegrates and reforms completely into the resurrected person alongside all their abilities with none of the original's. Beyond needing a sacrifice, the user of Edo Tensei can only exert control over those who are within a certain range of their own power. For example, Orochimaru could somewhat limit Tobirama but Hashirama moved and acted like he wasn't even being affected at all. In addition, there's a limit on the number that can be effectively controlled at once. But that's only if the summons are actively resisting the user's control and it's possible to shut off their independence and personalities to make them easier to control.

Aside from these, there are effectively no downsides. Edo Tensei zombies will continue to exist forever unless destroyed, which is almost impossible without abilities able to extract or banish their souls. If you just summon someone and let them act independently without exerting control over them, there's no limit to how many you can potentially have. If you revived Minato and Kushina then they would simply exist forever unless destroyed. That said, it's entirely possible that Minato, having extensively studied the techniques of the Second Hokage, is aware of the methods he developed to cancel or break free from the Edo Tensei. So it's unlikely you could actually force him to do anything anyway, at least not without immediately wiping his personality the moment you revive him. In addition, Minato's soul is actually in the stomach of the Shinigami prior to his resurrection during the Fourth Shinobi World War. So you'd need to release him from it using the Uzumaki clan's sealing mask, which itself requires knowledge of their techniques.

Basically take the worst modern woman meme you know and give them magic powers and make it so the universe bends over backwards to make them always right. They are shrews. Evil sadistic shrews.

Update on the collapse of Rooster Teeth: Death Battle's creators managed to obtain the rights to the show and have gone independent for the first time (they were originally under ScrewAttack before it got eaten up by RT). That and the Scooby Doo episode. Plus, although it kills me to say this: As shitty as the show is when it's not being self-aware, I have to admit when it IS poking fun at itself I have to begrudgingly respect how much hustle it puts into it. Apart from the fact they made an entire fucking season just to acknowledge the writing was beyond repair, the musical fanfiction episode actually has solid bops.

Even if it does end with yet another poor pagan deity (the muse Calliope) being unceremoniously splattered into goo because someone jabbed her in the stomach with a stick and pagan deity weaknesses can be as random as "dies instantly to specific type of stick"

You really kinda dont. So long as you avoid their part of the country you can more or less ignorr them most of the time, barring when they accidentally kill god and replace the entire governing body of heaven with ones boyfriend (and then bitch at him for not making enough time to give her foot massages) or the time when they erase the concept of good and evil and replace it with beaurocratic hellscape that dissapears anyone who steps out of line from reality. But those times kind of get retconned out by them using a spell to put things right again.

Except the god thing, GOD himself doesnt really shpw up but the entire higher levels of heaven get killed off due to them. They do jot get into trouble for this.

Oh also they become greek gods at one point and immediately let the power go to their heads andncorrupt them. Its not even a slow thing it happens like 2 minutes after they are given the powers.

Gotta love how they fed Korra to Storm as if more than 5 fucking seasons later everyone watching doesn't already know capeshit always gets scaled to high heaven.

>Goku vs Superman
...do you know what the funniest thing about composite Superman is? He's technically canon. As in, Death Metal made everything canon so everything that ever happened to Superman from shooting little supermen out of his fingies to yeeting Darkseid into the Source Wall to the Father Son Punch is somehow simultaneously canon. The nerds got their dream.

Here's the thing. Superman is STILL being foiled by

>energy siphoning robots
>kryptonite
>magic
>kryptonite
>a huge bug from the 6th Dimension
>kryptonite and red sun radiation
>Darkseid (no seriously they brought in 2 of him plus all their friends to whale on him and it was like Darkseid was standing in a light rain, between that and the movie whoever is left in charge of DC really loves their overgrown cragbaby)

So like if, IF they wanted to do Goku vs Superman part 4 there is a legitimate basis now to point at everything Superman has done since Death Metal, use THAT as the CANONICAL Composite Superman...and then make an assessment on whether the guy who still can't reliably deal with Lex after all these years can take Goku in a fight or not.

(And to be perfectly fair here, Goku would not do himself any favours by going all out from the start or ever using the Mafuba unless Superman actually turned Injustice)

Shard, they outright gave Goku Xenoverse scaling which should put him squarely beyond anything Superman has CANONICALLY done without wanking the shit out of him or scaling him to the entire DC cosmology past and present, and Goku STILL lost. They are never giving him a win.

The only thing that ever toppled the DC wank that poisoned the entire show was them admitting on their podcast that SCP 682 rapes a Doomsday scaled to everything they've scaled Superman to to death.

Spacebattles-tier thinking. You compare what both sides have done objectively and what they have available in order to determine an outcome. This is something that even this general does despite criticizing battleboarding like it fucked their mother.

You can determine Xenoverse vs DC by just...not going full retard and assuming DC gets to use everything it's ever had even the non-canon shit while the other side gets nothing. Same way you avoid a Gaara vs Toph situation.
>>
>>93480895
Eh for what it's worth, DC consistently treats a sun as a pretty impressive metric of power even for the big name capes.

>>93480844
Well there was that one time he pushed apart separate realities but that was a weird vibrational thingy not a brute strength thingy necessarily. The thing is, if they actually applied their standard equipment rules consistently then Superman wouldn't have to be a barefisted mook against Goku, he could bring in the robots or his Phantom Zone tech or something. But hey, the comics forget those too all the time.

They consistently ignore low-ends (and context) for every battle. IIRC the podcast episode had them go into detail regarding 6820, to whom those details wouldn't apply to begin with. It's like how they brought in Darkseid's true form to avoid acknowledging the fact that your average Darkseid avatar probably isn't surviving THE SNAP.

Warlocks tho.
>>
>>93481013
>Who would make a person that wants to destroy the world be in charge of protecting it?
He's not. The Planet in Remake/Rebirth has custodians called "Whispers" who enforce and protect the flow of causality across it and maintain temporsl logic between the timelines. Sephiroth (actually Jenova really) managed to hijack this system though and has turned several of the Whispers into his agents to force all realities to collapse into themselves, presumably so Sephiroth/Jenova can eat the collective Lifestresm to become God.
>>
Fuck all of you VSbattler retards, the problem with scaling and battleboarding is always the same. You faggots never acknowledge anti-feats, it's always the most generous possible interpretation of everything all of the time with no consideration for context or counter examples
>>
>>93481013
Nono, he CONTROLS the Whispers, who are apparently the planet's autoimmune system as well as the Auditors of Reality-expies that govern fate and hate deviating from what they think the flow of causality i.e. the canon FF7 games should be. Despite that, in the next remake they're shown to be somehow subjugated by Sephiroth for his goal of apparently collapsing every reality into one because ???

You will shoot your gun and you will be happy

>>93481019

>>93481041
>to become God

Finding a strong belief system to invest oneself into can be very good for maintaining one's mindset, and both the work and reward of cleaning one's living place is known to have positive psychological benefits. TBF there were multiple Orochimaru's by the end of Naruto and the one who's actually responsible for everything that happened fucking gets it super bad, the one who gets off is a clone with a different soul iirc? And the beneficiary of double jeopardy.
>>
>>93481014
That's a good thing you dingus.
The series isn't finished, and even if it was finished, I'd be wary of a jump, with people being stupid over the lore.

I'm honestly shocked that none of our jumpmakers goofed with their Soulsbornes jumps on that front.
Well, except maybe Shard with that one perk about Godfrey, since it seems like Godrey just became big because they drank sap from the Erdtree maybe.

>non-retarded storytelling
>Naruto
I have experienced immense pain from more settings than just DC and also various incidents in life and I cannot with certainty say it hasn't warped my taste with intense cynicism, but I would never call the series that had Kaguya chestbursting out of Madara non-retarded. That and the fact that I think it does a terrible job at arguing against the cycle of violence, because every time someone starts trying to rationalise Uchiha motivations in this thread I'm strongly compelled to murder them all from the start in my own chain.

>including the box loli?
I'm so sick of seeing people whitewash Uchihas I'm genuinely tempted to shred the box loli too out of spite. This is an actual case where I, the writer, am more violent and unhinged than my Jumper who would never hurt the box loli.

>>93481366
I don't care if it's a clone, because HE doesn't sure as hell doesn't care he's a clone, and double jeopardy is double bullshit in a setting where the Cloudniggers got away with everything too.

I am super tempted to just like, buy the uchiha clan in the jump. Or a branch of them. Just to have a chain of a roving band of uchiha being absolute menaces to every world they show up on. I would need to pay in to get obito and madara as companions too of course.

As I've said before, the tentative end for my chain I have vaguely plotted has it so that when literally every threat in the multiverse is finally annihilated, when there is nothing left to contest my Jumper's authority in all possible worlds, he will eventually come to the conclusion that he himself is the last source of suffering in existence.

His immediate reaction will be to try to destroy himself and use the energy to "upgrade" reality into a higher order state in which he has never existed.

People have bad, nonsensical motivations, why the fuck does it matter? I seriously don't understand this criticism. His character is a bad person, his actions are irrational. Wait. I actually have a metaphor for how I feel about Obito. You know Killmonger? You know how the whole point of the first BP movie was that Killmonger was a violent little retard who never grew past the pain and trauma he was as a kid? You know how at the end that shit about "bury me with my slave ancestors" can and should be interpreted him as having a delusional messiah complex?

THEN you know how people act like Killmonger dindu nuthin, and What If? made him hypercompetent enough to get hold of Infinity Gems, and Shuri sees HIM not T'challa after ingesting her artificial heart-shaped herb because apparently Killmonger "took care of business", and in general way too much moral agency is attributed to this fundamentally petty, violent, stupid little man?

It's like that. Killmonger is the Obito of the MCU.

Anon when everyone is calling you an idiot maybe its time to stop sticking crayons up your nose. This is that time. You are just wrong.
>>
>>93481777
Hmm. Choosing an end point is always difficult. My default is usually using Kamen Rider: Decade when I want to do a good ending. It offers a nice way to recap your Chain by making you go through "episodes" based off what happened in each world. You don't necessarily have to know much about Kamen Rider to make that work.

Or there's the Quiet Ending. Where you pick something like The Savior's Book Cafe in Another World, find something you enjoy doing (blacksmithing or some kind of similar crafting for me), and retire.

I'm glad your day have been okay.

Might I suggest taking a break and relaxing for a bit? Everyone is going to have a different point of view and getting angry about it isn't going to convince anyone.

Same. And enthusiastically.

>>93481909
Reminder that the idea of going insane just from looking at a monster originates from a Call of Cthulhu RPG game mechanic. In Lovecraft's actual stories, people only go insane because they realize how insignificant and pointless humanity's actions are or only appear to go insane because their knowledge about the secrets of reality makes their actions seem nonsensical to normal people.

As much of a meme "native isekais" is, this series comes the closest to unironically deserving the name. There's no summoning or reincarnation. He's just a guy in this world who got picked on by the one-dimensional bully hero and then found a book containing all the secrets of the world written in a language only he can read by pure coincidence.

But to answer your question, it's because the people who write these stories know they don't need to try. Anyone who bothers to read past the first chapter knows exactly what they're in for, so why bother with subtlety?

Nope. She is made out to be completely in the right and you cant even choose to not take her CONSTANT calls over the radio.

She actively causes you to be in danger too, and almost makes you lose your job because your contract states you wont unionize while working there on their property without talking to co.pany reps prior (sketchy but you did sign it) and she sends everyone pamphlets and emails talking about how you WILL join her union. I hate her so much.
>>
>>93482832
Bitch you play the game. That woman ruins the entire fun part. Like if she had a point it would be one thing but you are making so much fucking money and your living conditions (while a bit bare bones) are not bad at all.
>>
>>93482836
>>93482841
Look just say you're a corpo bootlicker. Just say it outright. We don't need to dance around the topic, you can't make any excuses anyone will care to hear, so just say what everyone already knows is true. You love the taste of dirty leather on another man's foot.
>>
>>93482849
You need help man. You really do.
>>
>>93482849
You need better bait. It has nothing to do with being a corpo, your character starts with a debt they can pay in a month then starts making enough profit in a short day of less than an hours work to buy multiple space ships. While you are doing dangerous work like pulling hazardous material co tai ers and ftl engines off a space hulk she calls you to screech into your ear about joining her union. You are doing a dangerous job and you have the tools to do it safetly but you dont need that garbage when pulling a potentially explosive unit out of a power grid.

And she acts like you are being paid nothing when in reality she doesnt do her job. When I say you are making bank in this job I mean it. You are paid better than anyone back on earth.
>>
>>93482859
So not only are you a failure as a human, a slave mentality little whore, but you're also a coward too. Shameful.
>>
>>93481527
Fuck you, I am going insane.

>>93482849
meds now

Could an Oji-san Jumper beat her?
>>
>>93482642
Well it's a lot better than the alternative.
>>
>>93482849
Holy fuck go back to your psychatrist now. You forgot your schizomeds.

Wait, this is the hardest sudoku puzzle? Kinda wanna take a crack at it...

Moments of happiness found in petty fun and dumb hobbies.
>>
>>93482833
I dunno. It's worked out pretty well for me. I just make sure to want the right things.

>Its about rocks.
So like real rocks or metaphorical rocks
>>
>>93482912
I dont know man if you can find beauty in a metaphorical rock then more power too you. If you need a real rock then you need only go outside and find one to ponder.
>>
>>93482911
Give it time. I thought it was working pretty great too at one point.

>>93482874
Why are the ns missing from the word "containers?"
>>
>>93482786
Hey Argent, Slay The Princess: the Pristine Cut is coming this fall. You excited?
>>
>>93482874
You sound like you've got a good deal of experience with the game. Any interest in making a jump for it?
>>
There's nothing I hate more than people just living their life and being satisfied with what it has given them.
>>
>>93482960
As the depressed anon from earlier fuck you man. Just because my life is shit doesn't mean I don't want others to be happy. Good on them for being fulfilled. No one should deal with the shit I do. Fuck you.
>>
>>93482933
Because my N key is semi broken. For no reason at all.

>>93482954
I got about 160 hours in it, playing the freeplay mode is relaxing. It doesnt have any progression but its fun to take apart ships in space. I thought about a jump but I dont know what you would even do for perks other than like a tech perk and then make the rest of it all an item and upgrade buy in tree for your gear.
>>
>>93482972
I hope you can find happiness and fullfillment in whatever you do anon.
>>
>>93482972
Hatred will make your life better. If other people were to suffer, you could take some measure of comfort from knowing that you wished for it. It will give you control and a sense of power. Learn to be angry and the anger will drown out everything else.

So have a build for the next jump in my chain. Rolling with the idea Jumper is the end result of a super secret infernal experiment gone horribly wrong (or right maybe?) that ends up escaping. Spend a lot of the jump on the run trying not to be find out on the edges of society trying to figure out his new powers. Eventually resolving to try and find where the Incarnae are held and trying to free them with as much infernal might as a existence like him can summon up.
The scenario is sorta tempting but that does make it unable to go into the main timeline proper here so maybe next time.
Jumpers still not sure what he actually is though now.

>>93482977
You could do perks for having great dexterity and focus, planning things out to take ships apart optimally and safely, dealing with on-site accidents, making LODESOFEMONE, organizing an entire retarded union underneath the noses of your bosses, ship piloting, business management, and of course the all-important tech perk.
>>
>>93482941
Oh shit, really? I just put it out of my mind since I didn't expect us to get a release window for a little while.
>>
>>93482990
No. Fuck you. That's cope. Literally.
>>
>>93483000
You know it's true. Listen to your feelings.
>>
>>93482990
Sheev, who let you post here? Aren't you dead (again)?
>>
>>93482996
Good ideas. Maybe I could take a crack at it eventually. But I wouldnt wait around if you got a good idea for a jump. I kind of migrated over to star citizen and spend a lot of time salvaging ships on there now. Its basically printing money there too.
>>
>>93482990
You smell like a German.
>>
>>93482999
Yeah, they announced that the Pristine Cut was done and they wanted to wait to ship it with console release and new languages.

Somehow he has returned.

>>93483031
Nice. I am dreading having to update the jump, especially now that I've added 5 new jumps to my backlog.

>If you cannot process something, it just doesn't process
NTA, that's only true sometimes. Some signals go through anyway, it's why superstitions are a thing.
>>
>>93483021
I've never played the game and don't have the spare money in my budget for it, so I definitely can't make it. I was just spitballing ideas with you since you seemed like you had some experience and knowledge of it.

Alas. Another jump that shall never be.
