Being one of the the heirs to one of the strongest clans in the Sect is more important than arguably any choice here. A common theme in these stories is how hard it is for commoners to get their footing with all the clans and families running around. It pays to have powerful people on your side. It also grants a lot of money, power, respect, safety, leeway and even freedom, as long as you’re not the heir apparent. Even without everything else I’d be happy with just this. I don’t plan on sticking around so no family drama or politics to drag me down either.

There’s a chance it’s not suitable for higher levels of cultivation though. I don’t think it’ll damage my foundation but it might be safer to stick to the starting cultivation techniques.

Dreamworld Sutra
They’re plenty powerful, but are also predicated on the path of Daomaxxing. Understanding the Dao tends to be what’s important later on so getting a head start now with these two is good. You can’t go wrong with Sword Dao, especially with the Stone Sword I’ll be arriving with. I don’t need any peripheral treasures anyway with it so there’s no real trade off to make here. I considered taking Fissure Arts, but I feel like comprehending the Dao is more important than those benefits. I can always find it or something better later, and the Stone Sword provides a lot of its benefits anyway. Dreamworld Sutra can be used to further deepen my understandings of Time Dao, which is good since it’s very hard to master. The spiritual techniques are a nice plus as well. The other techniques are either not as great or have drawbacks I don’t consider worth it. I’m not looking to become forced to be a killer or only eat spiritual dishes.

This was a hard choice but it seems that this is the one with the most payoff in the end. Spirit Sage is good, but I can refine my Spirit Root with other methods, and there are probably similar or better techniques I can find out there. Blood Of The Ancients is only great if you want to become a mass murderer, and there are ways to acquire heaven-defying bloodlines that don’t make you a killer. It’s also a bit of a trap option if you want to escape via the Hall Of The Returners, since you’ll have to eventually reach the peak if you don’t want to die. In these stories its usually better to have something slower but more “pure”/stable/powerful. I like Sword or Time Dao better anyway. The others are a little meh. The Stone Sword on the other hand is otherworldly, and grows with me, possibly to heights much further beyond this world. It won’t help as much in the beginning but at higher levels it could be much better than the other options. It’s a bit of a gamble to be sure, but chances are it will pay off. I’d like to think it crashes near me soon after birth.

The River Of Youth

Most of these are fun but don’t offer much. The Ancient Peace Pavillion looked safe but boring. The undead girl might be a good ally, since she seems sane enough to teach her methods. I’ll probably double-cross the empire and find the scholars first so I can give them to her- though not before first learning how to destroy her, just in case. Sane people usually don’t commit genocide so there’s probably a reason she’s doing this, one I might be able to reason her out of. Or not. Doesn’t really matter, I just want her armies for the River Of Youth. With it I could gain some general QOL improvements, immortality, an ancient bloodline and maybe even further refine my Spirit Root. Maybe even make her not-undead, if she needs convincing and the promise of the corpses of many supreme cultivators isn’t enough. She probably has some ancient techniques she could pass on if I give her the River. The hassle of dealing with actually holding it is annoying though. I’ll probably just dip once I hit Earthly Immortal stage to Returners Hall and try to see where the gate takes me. Don’t want to get stuck here.

Why not, can't you technically do both if you're big enough?
A starting/buffer zone that is safe and balanced, ment for training, difficulty ramping up as you move onwards and you try not to harm people there, and then an actual classic "you will die, monsters are aggressive, loot" zones later on.
Same with other Purposes that might conflict, like Resort and Classic. A classic dungeon that surprisingly also serves as a place to live, having entire cities in between floors and areas.

Could a classic dungeon also somehow work out with Dark Lord's Throne or is that too much of a stretch?

Also, how will Karma effect nearly impossible or great undertakings? Are huge dungeons that are big to the point where it takes a year or more (of constant fighting, dodging traps and traveling) just to cross it from the entrance to the core considered fair enough?

Tried making a build for this despite all the gay stuff, but dropped it. The major problem here is that the higher level options have so many mandatory requirements that your choices are pretty much made for you. It has 11 pages of choices but all that clustering makes them largely irrelevant.

If an Exalted Conqueror managed to slay the Hound, would they take on the Hound's mantle and ethos, or would they become their own distinct entity? How heavily does the Hound overview the morals of Exalted Conquerors, if at all? I don't care to go too heavy into edgelord territory, but suppose an Exalted Conqueror conquered a city after a siege and killed all of the men, women, and children because they didn't surrender? Are Exalted Conquerors expected to adhere to the Hound's dogma or are discretions largely ignored, as long as they continue to win against the odds?

This is gnarly. One of the biggest problems dealing with Entropic forces must be their relative lack of a need for logistics. If a Son can acquire souls, they can continue fighting and fielding more troops. They're effectively working with an enormous discount on cause (infrastructure) begetting effect (soldiers). I'm very eager to see your take on demons and beastmen, among other threats. What you've shown us so far is fascinating. Please, take all of the time you think you need to refine it.

Like the anon said I think the lore document goes about it a bit. He immediately shut down the possibility of eternal suffering from the source by allowing souls to degrade, and the very short of it, is that he seeks entropy since all of creation is as a net whole suffering. He can't really assign value to certain experiences or even calculate that for some beings a little bit of happiness may be worth immense suffering. Gods and powerful beings may seem at times omniscient or purveyors of infinite knowledge, but in reality all have limitations in certain areas that to us may seem nuanced or obvious. The Mother, Hound, Prince, Father, they're all biased and blind in some way.

The Iron Pyramid is more like a conglomerate of innumerable AIs that also sabotage each other, but ultimately are bound together, so seeing them as a force on the level of the Mother or something is inaccurate. They're the strongest, centralized form of power amongst True AIs, but are not really the source of True AIs or anything. Still, they have a lot of weight in existence, and actively interfere in certain cases to assist in dealing with foes that may threaten them (mainly against the Perfect Prince, as they're weak to those forces). Entropy doesn't have many tools to deal with them, and the Father is not very active in micromanaging his "forces" if at all. Sons work in a decentralized way with absolute freedom, and the cults and locations adhering to the Father see little to no guidance from him most of the time.

The Hound has spawn born from his essence but no children (much like minions, so not exactly his kids). This is one of the reasons he keeps on pushing for evolution from outside forces, as he's incapable of doing it on his own. A Lesser Houndling is an example of a very low level minion.

If you slay the Hound you become a new primordial force in existence, but not the Hound. You have powers related to him, but the way this new force develops is entirely up to you.

The Hound does not view your morals and does not control you in any way. Maybe some drawbacks could limit you, but that would be your choice. If you do kills kids on the regular, early on you won't get any negative, but eventually the Hound will target you much like how he targets his enemies that do such things. Also killing you would grant more Rewards for other Conquerors, but that would be way further down the line if the Hound singled you out. This could happen to any of his enemies really, so Conquerors are not specially targeted in that sense. If you're strong, endure and then beat him, then you were correct. If he kills you, then you're a loser and asked for it, more or less. Conquerors kinda do whatever they want, but generally do avoid specifically targeting children en masse since they don't gain anything from it and don't want to pickup more enemies to deal with in later stages, specially since each subsequent Conquest is almost always more difficult than the last. This is specially true in worlds with heavy Hound influence where nasty Hound minions could spawn from such events. Again, this is a problem for everyone that seeks to gain power over the multiverse, much how sieging a Mother aligned world will have you in their sights, or killing a Groom will have Goddesses hunting you down with armies of mercenaries and servants. But some children dying due to your conquest won't really affect you as much as, say, a standard warlord would be affected. If said warlord went on to become a multiversal threat, then yes, it is something to consider. The Hound is your enemy, not your friend or your boss.

The Hound is not allergic to chocolate.

I saw Harmonist and the reddit mock one. I didn't know about the fan made Gifts. The fan cyoa I saw it later on, and I don't think I commented on it, but to me it was perhaps the most flattering thing anyone has made in regards to my cyoa. I think it was excellent, tasteful and very well done, very enjoyable even as a solo cyoa. I'm humbled that my work could impact someone enough that they would pour such immense effort into making something that is so deeply thought of, something I consider to be great. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Cold Doctrine won't have Ankylosaurus. They were considered since I wanted them to have a tanky unit, but settled for triceratops instead. I have several pictures and will likely use this one, but they're meant to be extremely tanky chargers and mounts, though somewhat slow. They have good HP and massive DP (I think the highest DP of Tier III units, though some Construct may match them with modifiers, I'd have to check).

It’s the author of pic related, again. I’m figuring out GIMP bit-by-bit, watching tutorials and messing around with the format. I’m very impressed by what I’ve seen so far. The only issue I’ve had is the file selection but I’m fairly certain it’s a user-error. This seems to be an easier tool to use than MS Paint, which is what I need from software, ease of use. The easier the software is, the more intricate my CYOAs can be. More importantly, editing mistakes is vastly simpler than it is in MS Paint. That’s definitely a gamechanger.

I’m going to make another version 2.0 of this CYOA in GIMP over the next couple of days and will consider it finished, unless I have a great idea or anons have a good suggestion.

As for Over Powered Isekai I could add some companions for each of the different worlds that would help flesh out the settings and also add more lore to Dragonfall since Dragonfall is connected to a few of those worlds. I don't want to add more worlds but I will keep the companions in mind if I make a update for it.

Now for some unsolicited advice. You should drop Extra Lives and take Invisibility to boost your Shadow Magic. You already have plenty of phylactery's and because you are leaning into a commander role you wont be in as much mortal danger, and when you are you're leaning on Shadow Magic. You should also find a way to put one more point into Spirit Chains, Seal is very good for what you want to do in combat. You may want take another look at your minion section. For instance you don't get anything useful out of Dracoliches but if you like they're aesthetic I understand.

The author is no longer handing out blessing, so if you want a personalized walk blessed you may ask an anon, but that will be considered 'non-canon' by just about everyone especially if you picked multiplayer.

I just did! In numerical order, after all the rerolls and switches permitted, I ended with the following options:
>1(Waifu choice pending), 3(minion choices pending, but likely Elder Vampires, Death Lords and Liches), 6(Magic), 6(warfare), 7(perk pending, but likely invisibility), and 10.

Overall pretty solid options for my type of build. I will add these additions in the next iteration of my build which I hope I can make with enhanced visuals, formatting, and lore. Thank you for your interest anon.

The notion of prototyping powers had been on my mind for some time. The way I figure, even an extremely simple superpower has numerous components involved. Take barebones superstrength for example. At the minimum, that requires amplifying every muscle in the body and then making the body durable enough to handle outputting that much force, and both require hundreds of processes. The most difficult part of hiding from the government with conceptual Darkness is deciding how you want to do it. As for your identity concerns, there's an almost infinite amount of means to mitigate it: changing your name and appearance so that preexisting documentation no longer applies, abandoning your region to go somewhere you aren't known, spreading false positives matching your outward appearance, cloning yourself to serve as a distraction, etc. The only limitations are noise and the explicit restrictions.

Abandoning the human form can quickly lead to some extreme physiology, but so can reconstructing it. Overlapping muscle fibers, denser bones, intricate neural spools, and more. You could do both at once, or either, or neither, or some entirely hitherto unknown third route. Reality Warpers tend to lose outside frame of reference after a few millennia left to themselves, which can lead to some bizarre and horrifying (or beautiful, if you're so inclined or the Reality Warper was particularly grounded) outcomes.

It varies from pursuer to pursuer, but taken as a whole, they are incredible. This is worsened by Reality Warping serving as an airhorn for everyone that's listening, and some have a very good sense of hearing.
