Hats
>>94280617The only thing that interests me about chorfs is how much lead it takes to kill every chorf advocate.
>TQI can't wait for us to get chorfs and them to have absolutely no slavery anywhere at all. Like it's written into them that they not only don't have slaves, but that they'd never dare let anyone other than the finest workers in their factories, and to do otherwise is an affront to Hashut and punishable by a shaving of a beard and banishment.
>>94280935Kruleboyz exist though and they capture and sell slaves.
>>94280991Yes, but they're the slave faction. Nu-chorfs won't be
>TQThey're kind of a middle ground of chaos. They aren't to retarded, not too horny, not too backstabby, and they don't wallow in despair. Also helps they aren't furrie- >See pic related and lammasuFuck.
>>94280935Who cares
>>94280617I like the idea of chorfs as a more elite army with fancy guns and absolutely disposable chaff. But then Skaven kinda fit the idea for me better.
>>94280617big hats, industry, capitalism, slaves, the contrast of dwarves worshipping chaos and using magic
I how GW realizes that dwarf faction sell like crap and cancels chaos dwarves.
>>94280617>Chorfs*Chuardin
>>94282821Industry and capitalism doesn't seem very chaotic
>>94282959*Chuduardin
>>94283055"accidental" slave deaths in the forges make great sacrifices for hashut
>>94282873A lot of people would have enjoyed those but probably not enough.
Thread seems kinda quiet. Post /yourdudes/ whether they be old, new, or /wip/. These were some guys I built for Legions of Nagash in 2nd edition but I've been thinking about building my cursed city dudes to flesh them out to 1kpts now that nighthaunt stuff is its own thing and allies are kinda kaput.
>>94280617>What if anything interests you about Chorfs?I wonder if they'll fallow up on the Fyreslayer connection they established.Feels like they could be rivals
>>94283299Would be silly to not write some rivalry between them, I think it's a safe bet that they hate each others guts
>>94283132Turns out GW doesn't supply standalone Vargulfs physical stores, so instead of buying a whole Spearhead box just for 1 model (or paying shipping fees) i'm cobbling one together from leftovers.
>>94280617What have I missed? Are the rats still winning? How’s Nagash doing?Any new factions on the horizon?
>>94283419>What have I missed?Since when?>Are the rats still winning?Nothing major realy happened yet, they just took over some towns in the Perch since the initial landing, bonno otherstory event passed since>How’s Nagash doing?Hanging around, not participating innthe current story arc>Any new factions on the horizon?Chorfs basically confirmed, with foreshadowing as subtle as bricks through windows
>>94280617>What if anything interests you about Chorfs?Nothing, they should be just part of StD book. I dont want another IDK situation.>>94283132Cool skelingtons.>>94283357Charming fellow, give him some bat ears thou.
>>94283522>they should be just part of StD book. That would make sens, but imagin the whining.Plus StD already struggles with bloat
>>94282873I'm not sure how to handle it, but I loved ToW/FB Dwarfs of both kinds. However in AoS, Steampunk Dwarfs look WAY too goofy for my tastes and Fyreslayers are just...SLAYERSLAYERSSLAYERS which suck ass because what little lore I read of them makes them less one-trick ponies compared to WHFB Slayers when it comes to purpose and personalities (as mercs espcially), BUT THEY LOOK SO SAMEY.It's like they leaned way too heavily into the meme-ier parts of the Dwarfs from the World That Was.
>>94283660Only because GW is incompetent af, Chaos is peak soup faction.>>94283357Im working on my new force leader, Regent.
>>94283727Kino
Why is it ok for Order to have Peacocks, but when Chaos tried implementing Poocock everyone freaked out?
>>94284032>PoocockAs a Nurglenight I approve this message.
>>94283132I need to finally get around to taking a decent picture of all my tree dudes, so here's Belthanos in the meantime
>>94283443I stopped paying attention after the kruleboyz entered the picture. I recently checked the new app and it seems the latest edition has simplified the game even further without actually fixing any of the issues
>>94284149>I stopped paying attention after the kruleboyz entered the pictureThey you missed>CoS's misadventures>return of Ushoran>Belakor slow rise within StD>Brodd x Gordrak allienceAnd all the Gnarlwood lore
>>94275445 #It pretty clearly got folded into Era of the Beast given the random little aside focusing on it in that book, despite being some of the best shit to come out of that company C7 treats Soulbound and the staff that made it like a battered housewife just because it sells well but not as good as WHFRP (despite having 0 advertisement for it, unlike WHFRP).They want to keep the license so they’ll keep making shit for it at a slow pace, especially since their talent left behind a bunch of half-finished books on the way out, but I wouldn’t expect to see anything else before Champions of Chaos comes out at some point next year
>Dreadspears described as laughing and mocking victims in The AncientsI thought they were brainwashed automatons pretty much?
Do we have a release date for std battletome? Or an idea of when it should be available?
>>94284460It'll have to be soon because iirc nothing but side games release post battleforces and they come early-mid nov>Kill team versus box >MESBG>StDAre to come so
>>94283693To be fair majority of AoS factions and their personalities are more or less one trick ponies if its of any comfort. Some are even bordering nigh npcs in background lore (looking at you idoneth)
>>94282873Chuardin will be saved by also having greenskinz
>>94283727Very cool, love me some FEC. (Even thoygh i'm delaying having to build and paint my copious cryptguard and crypthorrors)
>>94283693They split the dwarf aspects but we don't really get just regular dwarf dwarfs anymore which is my biggest gripe. Cities not having dwarf and elf stuff mixed into the ranks is lame.
>>94285087Being NPC and being one trick aren't synonyms.
>>94285087>>94285202I’m a rabid fan of IDK with over 3k of them to prove it, but that’s my biggest criticism of their lore. As long as they stay written this way in lore, all they are is a nuisance on the realms. Their ultimate win condition is curing their curse, something that even Teclis couldn’t do. Otherwise, they just sit there raiding and raiding. They don’t have nearly the level of internal conflict as Dark Eldar so there’s not much to write about there. I’m by no means a good writer, but even I can understand they need achievable goals written in for them to accomplish while they run on the treadmill chasing their carrot of a curse cure. What those goals could be is beyond me.
>>94285354Dark Elves as a whole are kind of sidelined in the AoS meta plot stuff. And yes, I am including IDK as another "dark elf" successor alongside CoS and DoK
>>94285354Their entire concept is too rooted in this way too monolithic soul stealing business that have got so, so so worn out already. Them ALWAYS being side quest nuisances to the REAL guys in narratives doesnt help it either. They need new concepts and ideas (and god damn fucking miniatures, like hello??) that truly shake new life to their foundations and core. But as said this is also problem of many other faction like slayers... Oh well good thing we are constantly getting more new Stormcast though, can never have enough of those
>>94285354They're no more sidelined than something like ogres have been through their whole existance
>>94285821I mean they have the aquaman problem in being themed around the sea. They don't have to be but GW I imagine will only break them out for ocean conflicts. They can be anywhere but it's up.to GW to give them a wider range of influence. Maybe have a thing where they've been building up empires in the oceans across realms and unite under one big expensive model, er uhhh I mean mega leader.>>94285915Tbf ogres were sidelined in fantasy too, they were essentially just the big merc race.
Q: why has GW not squatted Fyreslayers?
>>94286114Cause they're the 2nd face of Order
>>94285975Aquaman didn't have the ability to summon a magic ocean and teleport sea creatures through space to his side
>>94286397I'm sure he did in some version
>>94286397I more meant in the sense of being pigeonholed into aquatic themed shenanigans, I feel like unless the setting is more water based GW wouldn't push Idoneth hard. I could be 200% wrong but that's how I imagine it works.
>>94286449Siege of Lethis wasn't all thatvwater theamed
>>94286449The only solution I sea is making space into a cosmic ocean between the realms and making Idoneth dwell in enclaves floating in the darkness of space with space whales and space eels and space sharks instead. But the lizardmen already got that niche.
>>94280617>What if anything interests you about Chorfs?I like pretty much everything about them. I'll be there day one when they arrive in AoS. I've already bought a bunch of hobgrots and Horns of Hashut as an appetizer.
>>94286292>ogres are the face of destructionhonestly astonishing when I'm reminded of them
>>94283132I like your bones, you kept them homogeneus and varied at the same time. Here are my guys dancing the conga during last game
I'm kind of wistful that I got into AoS in late 2nd edition and missed out on the early and awkward weirdness of 1st...
>>94283132Working on Gossamids. At a bit of a loss as to what to do with the wings but I'll figure something out.
>>94286292they should be a unit not an army
>>942865401e and 2e were basically identical?
>>94283357This looks sick anon
>>94286655Could do the coconut crab technique on the wings to add some variation in a simple way
>>94286655Very light blue i a boring anwser, but it works
>>94286655Man I want to like wood elves but this weird hybrids put me off.
So why did they squat the Sacrosanct Chamber Stormcast, exactly? Their scale seems fine compared to the newest sculpts and they have some fun models in their range. I ask this as someone looking in from outside because I don't keep up with AoS all that much but I do think it's pretty neat.
>>94287405scale isn't a problem, all stormcasts are equally oversizedthe problem is the fatcast design, they're getting rid of it, sacrosanct was a huge chunk, due to its ETB kits would keep being in competition with newer stormcast starter products, it was a mostly self contained range and there's a convenient excuse to get rid of them all>why keep these other fatcaststhere's plans to update them eventually, there aren't for sacrosancts, too many units
>>94287405Officially it's because they thought the model range had gotten too bloated and needed to be cut down to size. There's probably a bit of truth in that, because the model range was bloated. But honestly I think they simply reasoned that they could get a large number of SCE players to buy a whole new army.
>>94287455>too many unitsWhat a fucking joke, look at any 40k army with a half-decent range of units. If you said, in any other wargame, 3 kits made an army you'd get laughed out of the room.
>>94287405Limited warehousing and newer stuff sells
>>94287455>>94287460>>94287509That's about what I figured honestly, but it's still weird to me with how relatively recent those sculpts are in a game that isn't even a decade old yet. I just hope I can get a few of the kits cheap-ish, I'd never want to have a Stormcast army but some of the sculpts are nice to look at and they'd be a fun Your Dudes thing as rogue Stormcast who still want to find a way to perfect the reforging process.
>>94287405The cuts affected Slaves to Darkness, Stormcast and Warclans, all factions with large an diverse rosters, meaning it probalby realy was bloat issue. If it was just warehouse shit why not stop producing some Fyreslayer hero, or Gorchosen Khorne stuff?
Age of Sigmar is a plastic boardgame played on printed rubber mats for truly gross people who fell through the cracks of society. Its existence serves as a bulwark for games enjoyed by adults. There is no one who plays Age of Sigmar who would be welcome at a movie night, a child’s birthday party, a group hike, or a public pool. Thank you Age of Sigmar. Thank you. This concludes my post. Captcha: A05G4Y
>>94287499too many units to update in the foreseeable future
>>94287585I wonder how big their roster would be at this point if they didn’t squat.
>>94287556Are you the Aussie
The hundreds Age of Sigmar buyers should be forced to smell the tens of people who play Age of Sigmar.
>>94287635It's middle of the night in Autismtralia
>>94287672As someone who plays AoS and 40k I promise you the 40k players smell much worse.AoS players tend to be painters first and pretty casual about the game, 40k players are more often fat smelly spergs.
>>94287699People paint? I just let mt grey miniatures sit on a ahelf taunting me while I hide my painted ones in a case.
>>94287635 this dude is not >>94287556I am though and do all those things he mentions we don't do.>>94287556Post physique.
>>94287324Not actually a bad idea. I like that.>>94287391I really hated it initially. Tree Revs and Spites do nothing for me but the Gossamids do for some reason.
>>94287540Generally things tend to get more expensive when they go oop, but there will be a short period of time around when the models move to legends that people will be clearing their fatcast for cheap
>>94286114Please don't, I've almost finished painting 2800 points of them
>>94288791Why would you subject yourself to that?
>>94288844Quite literally because I got the Fire and Blood half, Dawnbringers box, Warcry box, and 20 more Vulkites for £70 all NOS. Started the army because it was cheap and if I could speak to anyone in here who is unsure about starting an army or is having trouble deciding. For the love of Christ, don't start and army just because it's cheap. I know this isn't new wisdom to bestow, but only ever buy a model or unit if you like how it looks. Saying that, I started to enjoy painting the Fyreslayers heros and discovered I really just like painting heros more than anything
Some interesting new/expanded lore tidbits from the new SCE book>Morrda explicitly survived in some part after Nagash took over Shyish. Directly addresses the previous lore that Nagash ate Morr as what Death factions believe but counters that with Morr answering the prayers of his faithful in Lethis/Ruination chambers.>Morrda is said to be actively allied with Sigmar and has been this entire time. He is what empowers the Relictors and is possibly contributing to the Reforging, much to Nagash's chagrin.>Ruination guys aren't just reforged too much but are explicitly the stormcast that have fallen out of the Eye Of The Storm and are now in an unrecoverable mental decline, only a handful of reforgings away from becoming lightning gheists (who also get some explicit descriptions now)>Celestial Vindicators actually go out of their way to embrace the reforging, viewing going crazy as making them more pure. >Ruination chambers are brand new, only being formed at the end of the era of the beast by Ionus. They're explicitly so that the stormcast involved can go out in a blaze of glory with a peaceful death conducted by the Lord Terminos rather than inevitably devolve into lightning gheists.>Many stormhosts venerate other gods alongside Sigmar, some almost to the same level as him. Anvils worship Morrda, some worship Alarielle, others are implied but not explicitly named.>Celestant Prime is confirmed to be from the Old World. It's almost certainly Karl, but they stop just short of outright saying it.Not going to lie, I do like the Ruination lore in this. They're pretty small and straight forward compared to Sacrosanct, which I actually appreciate. They aren't meant to be an army unto themselves unless you REALLY like Reclusians for some reason. Also the book had more new art in it than I thought it would, was actually pretty cool. Lots more Hallowed Knights POVs which is cool.
>>94288865Tbf 70£ for all that is pretty sick. The tiny magmadroth from the warcry box is beyond cute too. Could always finish the army and then flip it as "propainted" on ebay for something you're stoked on
>>94288865I get that, I bought 2* SCs, Krethusa's box, Shadow and Pain and then other bits and pieces including Morathi so have 4k of DoK, but at least it's varied
>>94287556Dyel
>>94289353GW already, weirdly, explained what happened with Morrda in a WD article. Basically several Gods survived and just float through the void in the essence. Another way for GW to bring back things they want to bring back. But nobody really cares for WHFB gods outside of Sigmar, Taal and Ulric (who got merged with Ursun). Nobody remembers the Gods of Order in WHFB anyway. Also Allah exists in WHFB but don't expect him to come back either. Gilgadresh and She'ar Khawn won't come back. Orange Simca won't come back. Rigg won't come back (but is a weird thing in itself, since there is contradictory origins of the Amazons and he's technically an Old One). Albion's Pantheon won't come back either. So yeah, I could see Taal at least coming back.Speaking of the book, does it explain why Idrian uses 'they/them' pronouns? Is it an actual explanation or explained or is it just nonsense?
>>94289353I WANT the lighting ghesits. That’s all I ever fucking wanted from. Storm casts.
>>94290029>Speaking of the book, does it explain why Idrian uses 'they/them' pronouns? Is it an actual explanation or explained or is it just nonsense?Just that far gone in terms of Reforging, no sense of identity anymore.>>94290048They make sense as a Ruination unit eventually, who knows. Right now they're like cyberpsychos that just go nuts and kill everything around them. Not really new lore but it's VERY clear Vandus is going to get a new model, probably later down the line in 4th.
>>94290065>Just that far gone in terms of Reforging, no sense of identity anymore.Ah sweet so I was right. Cool. That's fine. Thanks bro.
Are there any resources that aggregates army lists from tournaments or even just user added lists? Need help deciding how to build my army before a tournament in a couple of weeks.
>>94290084>Ah sweet so I was rightAre you gonna buy yourself an ice cream on the way home to celebrate, we don't give a fuck
>>94289353>>Celestant Prime is confirmed to be from the Old World. It's almost certainly Karl, but they stop just short of outright saying it.Major retcon then, since they already confirmed he ISN'T.
>>94286540Pre GHB1 1ed was unbelievably funny to play as seraphon. Unlimited lizardmen summoning means I'd take kroak and a bunch of skinks and run around the map dumping dinosaurs and temple guard everywhere. It was my first wargame and I had a blast with it. My friends skeletons were daisy chaining around and throwing out like a million attacks for a unit of 40 and bringing back like 10 a turn. It was so busted it barely worked but led to some seriously funny stuff. The meme rules were mostly ignored by my group but everyone was excited to try and break the game as bad as possible it was really fun.
>>94289353>>Celestant Prime is confirmed to be from the Old World.that's some bullshit, he was from the age of myth
It's Halloween, post your Death armies
