There was this one time in an AD&D game the DM put a barrel containing twenty-seven monkeys in a room. We opened it, but the monkeys overwhelmed us. Later we found a gang of bandits so we led them close to the room, we opened the door and the monkeys overpowered the gang, while the gang thinned the monkeys enough for the party to kill the stragglers. I drew some basic hex maps for my game. Need to fill them out more.
I was involved in a homebrew I was doing art for and helping with world building behind the scenes. We got a pretty fun party dynamic established eventually, and I absolutely fell in love with one of the DMs main characters of the story, accidentally joining his faction that was a sort of clandestine changeling mafia. It had so SO much potential and I was going to try to do some comic pages of highlights from our campaign. So much enthusiasm all around.And then the election happened and the DM lost their damn mind.Pic related, the changeling character in question. He lives rent free in my head and now I'll never get the rest of his backstory or figure out how to save his tragic ass self from whatever his fate was.
It's not particularly original, but the GM of our Rogue Trader game made this in reference to the Seneschal.
If anyone has any tips on finding online groups that are stable and mature and leave politics out of things, I'm desperate. Far enough to get super attached and invested, but still barely scratching the surface.Backstory:Avarice in that world was a Tiefling who is really something akin to a Cambian who's true nature was sealed at birth by a contract her mother sold her soul for. She had a really rough life being a bit of an outcast raised in a temple where she felt really out of place due to her nature. She god a good education there and yet also had the experience of spending part of her childhood on the streets as a run away. She'd use cantrips to help her steal, and then return, books from private libraries, and was trying to teach herself proper spells. This led to a run in with an Arch Mage who set her up in the local Wizard college, though she didn't last long before she was sort of groomed into doing the bidding of necromancers who had infiltrated the school via an older student who lives off-campus. They put her up to stealing knowledge from a rare tome temporarily in her patron's possession. It turned out it was really the vessel for a sort of artifact they wanted, which is that fucked up looking eye she now has. It sees spirits, but only where they are still attached to a person or object. The Necromancers managed to smuggle her out of the college and her and her friends were pretty much recruited into their cult, forcefully. Awful stuff happened, and after around a year/year and a half she was able to sabotage a ritual they needed her and the artifact for and escape, stealing their magical foci and related scrolls while she was at it. She disguised herself as a Bard and learned some basics (one point bard) on the road, on the run from the Necromancers.
