>>94364928I always painted mine as if they were leaking a bit, corroding the materials below them. Not very well, you understand, but that was the intent.
>>94365033It's nowhere near vortex grenade, it's just power field, it don't explode just displace projectiles into warp but allow slow moving ones like infantry to pass. One of anti titan tactic other than shootin it so much shields overload and turn off and then shooting titan as much as possible before shields are back on is getting infantry close to titan to damage it with anti tank weapons from cunder void shields, hell there was specialised formation of assault terminators who teleported under void shield, lobbed vortex grenade and later smashed with thunder hammers whatever remained from titan.>tl;dr no void shields don't explode like grenade, they are power field so not 40k era.

How long does it take to make a kid into a space marine? I’m doing some fun silly cringe of writing up my dude’s lore for my Word Bearers and I really like the thought of my Host’s Sorcerer to have been a kid who knew that he would be recruited by the 17th legion either right before or during the heresy. >>94365596>"take the one that makes infantry automata and combine it with praevian with robots"Unfortunately there is literally no fun synergies is there because GW is a bunch of faggots and really preferred to just write the rules for Programmed Behavior again on the oath to avoid you being able to use Cortex Controllers to negate it, despite that being fun and fluffy as hell. And let's not even get into the fact that the oath forces Programmed Behavior on ALL the models in the Detachment, even the non infantry or calvalry ones that get no benefit from the oath. Or the fact that augmetic transport bay doesn't function because of the retarded dedicated transport limits. Fuck now I'm angry again >TFW you will never have Marines enslaved to the will of a traitorous magos who wants to use them as Shock troops to Usurp his archmagos superior because John French can't read his own rules.
>>94366616Knight Dominus is about 18cm tall>>94366398the original Imperator models while never really in scale (as very little of Epic was actually ever in 6mm, and the first AT Titans were wildly off from that) were twice the height of a Warlord and could carry iirc either 6 stands of 5 infantry or 60 infantry in each leg-fortress (these troops were not pulverised by the walking action's vibration for some reason)an Imperator would be about 30cm tall and significantly massier than the majority of GW plastic kits that even approach that height, making it one of if not the most expensive kit in the rangeremember it has to look thiccer than the Assmaster 2000 titan which already makes the Warlord look like she skipped leg day and gives the 30k Questoris a run for its moneyyou're talking about a plastic kit that would run toward the £200-£300 range done properly; nobody would buy enough of them to make it viable, so it would have to be a loss leader where you sold it lower than cost or at-cost and made it the flagship of the range to try and sell the lesser kits to make up the money you're losingI suspect this same problem is why Epic failed to take off with the big relaunch box with a mega-gargant and imperator, they simply didn't make enough sales of <checks notes> dwarf blimps and ugly giant insect monsters? to break even over several years
>>94366940>(these troops were not pulverised by the walking action's vibration for some reason)At such a size, the legs would move so slowly that it would barely inconvenience any embarked troops. Just the sheer mass alone would prevent any fast or abrupt movements.
>>94366940>you're talking about a plastic kit that would run toward the £200-£300 range done properly; nobody would buy enough of them to make it viable, so it would have to be a loss leader where you sold it lower than cost or at-cost and made it the flagship of the range to try and sell the lesser kits to make up the money you're losingSo making most iconic titan is problematic because nobody would bought it, but somehow making OC dnout steel not Imperator and making it 2 diferent kits where one of them is melee build for 750 points in game was a good idea. Especially since Warmaster isn't that much shorter than Imperator.
>>94367004>Especially since Warmaster isn't that much shorter than Imperator.NTA but there’s a problem with this, do you mean the head height of the Imperator isn’t much taller than the Warmaster? >>94367152If the Imperator didn't have the cathedral, then you'd be right, however, it does have it, which evidently makes it taller than the Warmaster. In that image you posted it's like 1/4 maybe 1/5 taller than the Warlord, while in >>94367058 and >>94367052 it's very clear that the Imperator is significantly taller the Warlord. Hope this helps!
I'd say I'm about 80% finished this thing, the marines are a late addition and may be changed
>>94367185Not fully decided on whether the marines are AL or UM
>>94367211Your tacticool Reaver sucks in the best way possible, keep trucking man
>>94367182First, Titandeth cover don't show Imperator near Warlord but oposing reaver, second art is often not up to scale. Worst offender is old Warlord art, but still, even "modern" heresy covers get titan scale wrong. So Imperator wouldn't be that much taller than Warmaster.
>>94367211Cute, especially chicken legs, put some ERA on head.>Not fully decided on whether the marines are AL or UMWhy not Alphas pretending to be Ultras?
>>94367364>Titandeth cover don't show Imperator near Warlord but oposing reaverCorrect, meaning it's even bigger because of perspective, since it's evidently further away than the Reaver and considering the scale of these things it's probably a good distance>second art is often not up to scaleIs there an actual source on this or is this one of those "the community *feels* it's true" kind of thing? If it's the former I'd be happy to concede that you're right on that point>So Imperator wouldn't be that much taller than Warmaster.Again the biggest problem with this would be the Cathedral. Head height I totally agree with you,l but the cathedral adds way more height than the Warmaster's carapace does, so the model would be hugeImperator (and all titans for that matter) height has never been consistent unfortunately so this whole discussion is kind of moot at the end of the day, If GW were to make one it'd be whatever size they'd like
Speaking of titans, what happened to warbringer titan? One day FW dropped new titan nobody asked for, with full reaver weapon rework no less and now it's gone from shop.

>>94367405>Imperator (and all titans for that matter) height has never been consistent unfortunately so this whole discussion is kind of moot at the end of the day, If GW were to make one it'd be whatever size they'd likeWhile true, not completly. I heard Titans and Baneblade-like Superheavy tanks are rivals. That their machine spirits get all riled up when they see each other (techpriest's explanation on superheavy reactor interference). My question is, there's like 3 Titan sizes depicted in the tabletop: Warhound-size, Reaver-size and Warlord-size (Imperator doesn't have rules). Is there more than 2 sizes for Superheavy tanks? >>94367925LIgma’s first supplement included a way to play with titans only as an “””alternative””” (replacement) to Adeptus Titanicus. Regardless no one at my LGS wants to play AT anymore since LIgma released, a worse game. Had to wait 25 minutes to post this cuz I am on a walk
>>94364234Yes.
>>94368042>Had to wait 25 minutes to post this cuz I am on a walkUgh I hate that. Have a (You) for your perseverance, anon.
>>94368042The new supplement gives Titans standard detchments for regular play and the pdf gives a support detachment for mixing in mechanicum units so you can play LIgma normally. But Titanicus is still better.
>>94368065Thanks, I meat 15 minutes but it’s all the same… I will always lament AT’s fall from the small relevance it had
>>94367986yeah kind ofthere's things like the Typhon/Cerberus (not actual super-heavies in this edition, but iirc formerly the Typhon was) but also the Mastodon which is I think significantly bigger than the Fellblade/Banebladethen you have the Thunderhawk and the even more massive Stormbirb, which is more like a Mastodon with wingsthen you have things like the Malcador which are smaller than the Fellblade/Baneblade; the Malcador was again formerly super-heavy but is now just Reinforced like the Typhon/Cerberuscompare that to the way Titans work in 30k, with the largest class getting additional rules to make them near-impossible to even swing a hammer at reliably and the smallest class (and even the Knights which are just smaller versions of the same thing) being much easier to kill
>>94368032Nah, Malc was just head of state and Valdor was hero. Land found Land Raider and Land Speeder STC tho.
>>94367936This guy >>94368041 has it. The Land Crawler being pressed into service as the base for the Bruenhilde and Ragnarok during the Krieg civil war back in the olden days of Epic was corrupted and retold as the Leman Russ being a conversion of a tractor. Probably mixed with some fluff about the Rhino STC being modified into whatever was needed by colonists at the time. It's a common problem where half-remembered bits of lore are mashed together and retold endlessly.
>>94368068Sorry, which supplement?
>>94368136The setting is supposed to be based on half-remembered legends, lies, propaganda, and half-truths so the players' understanding of it being the same is fitting.
>>94368160Great Slaughter, the Beta-Garmon one. The gameplay for the titans only mode isn't at all like AT, it's just LIgma with just titans and points costs for the weapons, or at leats that;s what I've been told... I *have* a scan of the book I just don't bother
>>94368205>>94368160Nevermind I misread what the perosn you were replying to said, I'm silly>>94368068Schism of Mars, right?

>>94368160>>94368205>>94368220The latest one, rise of the Dork Mechanicum, has the Titan and Knight detachments. They're lame, but you can use them.
>>94368263>They're lame, but you can use them.Ahhh I'm so shocked, I'm so shocked that LIgma sucks ahhhh...THEY KILLED ADTIT FOR THIS???
>>94367986super heavy tanks are so far below titans rulewise it's not even funny.the only LoW (who isn't even a super heavy) who stand a chance against a warhound is the cerberus
>>94368274Anon, they have made AT more accessible than ever AND are making rules for the stalkers in it. It's the inadequacy of your locals that has done this damage to you.
>>94368292>It's the inadequacy of your locals that has done this damage to you. You're 100% right, I am blinded by my sadness
>>94367986That sounds like a load of bs. Titans and their princeps barely recognize smaller titans as rivals and knights aren't respected either.
>>94368312iirc titans do hate shadowswords, because those occasionally manage to snipe a titan.
>>94368341That's not saying much they probably hate melta bombs too.
>>94368284>Warhound is AV 14/13/12 HP12. Has two Void shields, and two Turbo laser destructors>750 pts>Legion Falchion is AV 14/13/12 HP12. Has 0 Void shields, 1 twin-linked Volcano cannon, and a couple of quad lascannon sponsons>650 ptsMaybe I am doing an unjust comparison here, seeing how the Volcano cannon can't be taken by a Warhound, and instead the 1500 pts Reaver can take 2?Maybe they aren't that far from one another, but Superheavy tanks do end up being basically a wheeled carriage for one Titan Arm cannon
>>94368312Just like a loudspeaker can detect when a cellphone is about to receive a call, so can a Titan hear the heartbeat of a superheavy tank's gun. They see them as usurpers, crawling through the mud wielding a power that isn't theirs to unleash.Misguided children of necessity!
>>94368365Well yeah it's like a tank destroyer. Put the one valuable weapon on the cheaper smaller more mobile platform and have more of them.
>>94368274The true benefit of Ligma is that if, somehow, someway, you manage to get a game of Titanicus, if your opponent appears with a Knight list, you can tell him to fuck off to Ligma where that list belongs.Like, thanks to Ligma there is literally zero excuse to be playing a Knight Household in Titanicus except that you are a WAAC piece of shit and deserve to get nailed to the concrete walls of Warhammer World as a warning to others.
>>94368391And then they get shot in the knee lmao
>>94367436if they actually make an imperator kit they should make the cathedrals modular and maybe even compatible with the civitas imperialis parts
>>94368407So true anon... wise words
>>94367986>I heard Titans and Baneblade-like Superheavy tanks are rivals. That their machine spirits get all riled up when they see each otherNot really. Titans get riled up when they sense other titans. Maybe shadowswords(dedicated titan hunters) get some tingle.>My question is, there's like 3 Titan sizes depicted in the tabletopThere are at least 4 scales as of now with Warmaster being Monumentus.>Is there more than 2 sizes for Superheavy tanks?Kinda, you have 2 main lines, Baneblade family and Macharius(smaller) family but Macharius isn't really 30k tank. Malcador isn't super heavy. Also Malcadors are third line deep reserve and were replaced by Leman Russ tanks. So no Tanks are not like Titans, where each Titan is sacred God Engine and avatar of Machine God.
>>94367925Ligma uses alternating activations like AT right? If so then it shouldn't be that hard to slot the games together.
>>94368263Do you have PDF anon?
>>94368407Knight household armies are WAAC?
>>94368407I still want to fight a knight list in Titanicus. Just to kill them.
>>94368434Less than they used to be, but back in the day the Acastus was LITERALLY a long range Warhound with three arms for a third of the price and was eminently spammable. It was absurdly underpriced and overpowered. Like, bordering "Eldar at the start of 10th edition" overpowered, albeit just a single unit and not an entire army. But even the useless weapons like the Questoris Gatling were buffed nonsensically so that they could actually harm Titans. The real issue however is that Knights basically used all but none of the actual rules of the game. The meat and potatoes that made Titanicus work, that made it fun. It was like turning up to a chess match and pulling out a chequers set. Not even the original game designer wanted to include them, especially not at the games release, and it is a matter of public record that the higher ups basically forced him to because they were pushing the plastic kits for 40k at the time.
>>94368462The best comparison is actually Eldar in Battlefleet Gothic who needed their own little rulebook because their ships did whatever the hell they wanted.
>>94368478Yeah, that's valid. Although Eldar got less egregious as other stuff got released. Like Necrons.
>>94368365the warhound can react, the falchion can too, but will have to do with a pintle mounted melta
>>94368482When those stalkers come out I'll get a box and post the terminal here, maybe they'll be Titanicus's necrons.
>>94368462>mini mechs in the mech game that ignore all the restrictions the main units are under and have way too much power for their size 35 years, and they still haven't learned their lesson...
>>94368515At this point, we're still waiting on the Ligma PDF to get posted. I've been downloading them mostly for the fluff, although lord knows I thought GW did Beta-Garmon pretty comprehensively the first time, so I don't know why they felt the need to go and do it again for Ligma.
>>94368520We do NOT talk about Elementals. The only reason they aren't more reviled is that they're such a finnicky set of rules to use that all but the most severe of autists would ever use them.Well, that or you use megamek.
>>94368521>so I don't know why they felt the need to go and do it again for Ligma. So they can have the Titandeath in their game where you can feasibly take Titans
>>94368401They steal the Titan's power aaaaa!>>94368408It can happen yeah
>>94368521Beta Garmon is a whole game mode that requires something like 10 titans each to play. This bit is so one twat with 10 titans (me) can play the guy who has 100 tanks and infantry.
>>94368365Yes but Warhound is considered scout titan, while Falchion is ultimate super heavy tank destroyer, and still Warhound is more mobile, have better protection and simlarish firepower thanks to 2 shoots instead of one. This is before we get to real battle titan such as reaver or most numerous titan legions workhorse Warlord.
>>94368365the falchion get wrecked the moment he get within 40" or so of the warhound : he's within charge distance
All this super heavy talk has me wondering: I want a fellblade but obviously don't want to pay GW prices, so I can either get the recast (the sicaran punisher I got from WTG was a rough build, don't know if it'll be any better for a bigger vehicle) or I can proontfag it up (need to use an external print service for the big tracks, everything else can go on my home printer). What do you think is the better option?
>>94368407even if it's all base questoris and you have a full lance with dual arms to go give hugs to people?
>>94368618Legio Crucius Warhound charging Alpha Legion Falchion 009.M31 colourised
>>94368732Recast of FW models are hard to build on account of FW models already fitting like shit. I don't know about the fellblade specifically but I haven't heard about it fitting particularly well either. You could also wait to see if we are getting a plastic one next year with the TANKS! release>everything else can go on my home printerWhy don't you just split the tracks into 2?
>>94368745even better. slap two flamers on that warhound. move flat out into charge distance and unload 2d6 f7 destroyer hits on it before charging
>>94368733If you want to play titanicus, you should play titanicus. Playing with full Knight Households is not Titanicus, and it never was.
>>94368775Roast it a little before going full happy little titan feet on it? Good idea anon.
>>94368806a double 6 on three dice, discarding the lowest one, is not that likely. but with 2d6 hits it's probably going through. and with a bit of movement trick you get in that falchion's juicy 13AV flank
>>94368830nvm i'm retarded. you delete that falchion without even having to charge, in a single shooting phase. shit's wack
>>94368462Oh, I see.I just wanna run knights cause I think it's fun and fluffy to have coldshroud knights fighting alongside their titan lords. (also I spent way too long perfecting their paint scheme to not run them)
>>94367526As someone preparing to purchase their third, I’m ashamed. I’m really trying to decide between a second reaver or a warlord… or maybe both…. god I really need to build the stormbird I have too…I’m not sure if I’m ashamed of you or of myself.
>>94368789I want to run titans. I just think the little Questoris knights are cute and I want to have a bunch that run up to give people hugs
>>94368991I wish you could've seen my jaw dropped when I enlarged the imageDon't be ashamed of me though, my Warhound is costing me like a few cents, if you got yours recasted your titans are still a few hundoBut hey, nice paint scheme, be proud of THAT! I would do Legio Xestobiax cybernetica/Zhao Arkhad Taghmata if I didn't already have an idea for my mechanicum army... with zero idea of how to paint them (red obviously since theyre from mars, but I wanna sprinkle green and white on the robots in and IDK how) OR how I'll paint/glue together my warhound... things are looking grim for me
>>94368365Super heavies on the whole got really gutted this edition, but titans have always been vastly undercosted.
>>94369015You can run reinforement titans alongside a household. So you could have a Rock 'em Sock 'em reaver running up besides a lance or even a Janissary Maniple if you want to be a real guy.
>>94368936You can, just do it in Ligma, which is a much better fit for them.
>>94368732The fellblade is a brutal build because it was a hybrid plastic-resin kit, meaning that you don’t have the big resin chunks, you’ve got super long, thin resin strips that warp like no tomorrow. I’ve got one from Z (jinkies!) that I’m dreading building, but I’m also gutting an old, damaged baneblade from when I was 13 to build the hull
>>94369035I forgot Janissary's were a thing.Thank you for reminding me.
>>94365231These time frames are so weird. You can get your secondary heart as late as 14, but then you can't get the Ossmodula, Biscopea, or Larraman's Organ at all. The same is true of the Catalepsean Node in Phase 6. If you get that at 17, then you can't get any other organs until the Betcher's Gland in phase 17. That's assuming that the phases need to happen sequentially I guess.
>>94369016Ehhh… I’m not a fan of the off-white I used. I went for wraithbone because it covers really well and I had gone for gold/brass/bronze-ish trim instead of silver so I wanted a warm colour, but I’m really considering going back over it with a cold white. I still haven’t even gotten to the first layers of oils on the reaver, and only have the first layer (dry pink oils for a filter) of what I’d like to do on the warhound. A very nice thing about models that size is you can load the paint on thick if you need to and it doesn’t cause issues - hell, the warhound used to be thousand sons teal and this is literally just painted right over it. The warhound’s actually real forgeworld, but I got it second hand on the cheap. The reaver is a recast and has a really brutal section missing from the back of one of the power plants, but I’ve used it in games at a GW store and nobody’s ever noticed even on close inspection. With the new light maniple from the last AT book I’m really tempted to do two reavers, a warhound, and then try to find someone with a big enough printer to print the direwolf file that’s floating around out there (my buddy with a printer who I normally get stuff through doesn’t even want to try).
>>94369102They are an awful thing but they're there.I think you can run maniples next to household lists and vice versa so you can really do whatever you have the points for.

I was listening to the first three books of the heresy and I just don't fucking get why Horus turned. In book 3 he's being offered power by chaos but he's acting as if he's been chaos tainted since being brought to Davin. So what is up? If he was tainted why bother with the pretense in book 3. Before Istvan 3?
>>94368991considering a third too here.a second warhound would be nice. maybe go straight for the warlord if i get out of my neet pit.that would be a great way to celebrate a milestone.

>>94370116>40 tacticalsThat's a pretty reasonable amount for a 3k game. If you get bored, you can always run them as inductii with shrapnel bolters.
>>94370205I suppose that's true.I could always save myself some points by cutting my Tyrants down from 10 to 5.
A buddy sent me some pics.
>>94369956There's a satisfying resolution though, right? Like it'd really suck if a person read through all these books and have to endure one of the final climactic battles being a betrayed son fighting against 3 centaurs that all have his dad's face. Nothing like that would ever happen, right? RIGHT???
Also I totally misread the rules on this sheet, this formation IS just having as many automata and thallax as you want running around some Titans' feet, it's great.
>>94370480>>94370486Interesting stuff, thanks for the share anonI'm not too familiar with LIgma, do any anons have an idea of what the average points cost for a game is? I'd be tempted to pick up some titans + solar aux if it was reasonable + would let me also get into AT at the same time
>>94370669No idea as nobody around me actually plays it and they just talk about it.Considering how it seems everyone dropped several grand on it over here and their titans are valid armies now 4-5k point games are probably pretty easy.
>>94370669>everyone dropped several grand on it over here>4-5k point gamesSheesh, at that point I could probably just get a 28mm-scale warhound titan and expand my solar aux out to a basically full scale conflict for heresy games...I really love the idea of basic ass riflemen being watched over by titans, just seems so cool, thought LIgma would be the perfect way to get that vibe without breaking my wallet. Might just have to give LIgma the skip then and go for AT since from my understanding you can get some games running at 1500pts which is like 4-5 titans or something?
>>94370629>>94370486>>94370480Wait, are you telling me Legiones Imperialis didn't have a way to use Titans until this latest supplement? Also, I thought the latest supplement was the Death of Tallarn or something
>>94370764Well that only applies to where I am, and all it means is that people who have bought into the game will be able to play at whatever level you want so you don't need to break the bank. Just ask around wherever you'd think about playing what games people like (which will also tell you if they even play).>go for AT since from my understanding you can get some games running at 1500pts which is like 4-5 titans or somethingYeah even a big 1800 point game can be 6 titans. And with these new rules for LIgma buying titans should be your first go anyway since it now gives you 2 systems. Just buy the titan maniple box and that'll cover your intro games. That's around 1200 points depending on the reaver's loadout.
>>94370790Titans were a separate formation which counted towards your ally allowance (30% of your army total). There was a titan and knight only game mode with slight rules changes in Beta Garmon. Now there are titan/knight primary detachments that allow allied detachments of auxilia/astartes/tahgmata
>>94370801
>5500 points of Xestobiax titans>2725 of Defensor (+675 points of Warlord Sinister)>2430 of Laniaskara>4330 of knightsMars Mars the forges of war that brought me forth
All this titan talk has made me wonder about somethingHow do titans avoid stepping on their allies during a battle? Do they just send vox commands out for what their bearings and route is gonna be and everyone just steers clear? Do the titans automatically account for people and try to just avoid them and then it's just a case of "don't make any sudden movements or you'll get squished" on the infantry and tanks behalf? Do princeps just not really think about it and everyone else just has to get out of the way in time? Is it just something as simple as "the titans stand over here and we'll stand over here"?
>>94370974"If they get squished it's their fault"But in the same way that a tank squadron spreads out any ally would heep a healthy distance as just the discharge of volcano cannons and macro blasters is probably fatal directly below them.
>>94370974Pretty sure the last one is the case, the only time when a titan would be heading towards smaller formations is because it's the enemy and they've slaughtered your titan support. They prefer to go fight in the big boy's club, as a matter of pride and practicality.
>>94370974Probably a mix of the general command structure telling grunts where to be when the Titan is going through. Titan's rely on infantry support in most cases that aren't strictly titans fighting another titan, I think it's even mentioned in Titandeath that disregarding the role of infantry support is an almost surefire way to lose a fight, and then they show just how true that can be when a hoarde of infantry manage to not only attack but also start boarding Solaria titans. For example a bunch of infantry squads could be hiding in buildings or spider holes until the right moment, then they run out and through the void shields to then start slapping meltabombs onto the Titans toes. It won't destroy it but best case scenario for the Titan is it's immobalized and a sitting duck for artillery, worst case is it topples over and then can't get up, leaving it prime to be boarded and captured.
>>94366940But the price to "would not make enough" is only because of GW pricing things eg Terminators have to cost X more then a tactical. If GW wanted to sell large kits, then yes the investment in to the mold would be substential, but GW has a lot of fans. Don't price the kit at the "its is bigger then X, there for the price should be X*2" and they would definitly make money. I think the real problem would be the box. For all GW models the box costs more to make then the plastic models inside it, and a box for a model that large would have to be very large AND include partition spliters, so the model doesn't deform/gets destroyed , because of its own weight.
>>94367936There is an old joke from the 60s that was told here in the 60s, which translated goes something like this. >>94362807Veteran Squads should be able to take Combat and Boarding Shields. Discuss. Also is there any reason to actually take a Heavy Bolter HSS. I like the idea of modeling them but a Legion list has a fuckton of anti-infantry fire just from the Tacticals
>>94371531Tbf I know you lot have turned T-whatevers into firefighting vehicles and here we made Matilda IIs into tractors after the war. So it wouldn't be far off.

>>94365207>>94365231>>94365324>>94369119I believe it's been said (or at least suggested) that the implantation process was better understood (or at least they were more willing to take risks/geneseed wasn't as rare and legions needed lots more recruits than what modern chapters do), so they could begin the process both earlier and also much, much later and still have it work at least some of the time. Plus there are known cases where tailored therapies are used to ensure success even where implantation would otherwise fail.I think in The Emperor's Gift they say that the main Grey Knights dude was 15 before he even began the implantation process, though to be fair it was mostly considered basically impossible odds (even though they did it anyway). And I think it's been suggested that Space Wolves are an example of a much more robust and forgiving geneseed, because they have greater success at both younger and older ages than most chapters (though it could mostly be that they are willing to risk trying, and other chapters might be just as successful but are not willing to take the risk). Either that, or the codex-approved tales of a certain trickster bedding a dozen women in a single night (before having begun become a Space Marine) can only be interpreted as hardcore shota-on-milf action, which is probably not where they imagined that they were going with that boast...

They don't have successors because Russ gene-seed don't work on people outside of Fenris and their only successor chapter mutated hard and was put down by Space Wolves and Inquisition.>can only be interpreted as hardcore shota-on-milf actionThis reminds me of Black Templars comic where they watch potential recruit fight, dude looked like absolute fucking unit in his 20's instead of child.
Why didn't the Sons of Horus go nigger mode like the Night Lords if they were also Hive gangers?
>>94371949Because Cthonian gangers had sense of honour and culture, and planet had normal goverment while Nostramians were just retard psychos and planet govemrent relied on public child flaying to keep order.
>>94371940You getting married lmao
I forgot how long it took me to paint a single guy
>>94371989u 4got the wash n base
>>94371989I shake too much for proper highlighting. Still happy how he came out though
I am in gratitude and almost debt to the anon that decided to make a Techmarine out of the Warpsmith figure, proving that it's incredibly easy to do so and that all shitters get the rope anyway.
>>94371949Because SoH are white gangsters, who still maintain a certain code of honour and their own set of rules.NL are like actual nigger gangsters, without any sense of honour and no rules.
>>94371988Fuck no, absolutely not. Dunno if I just have bad luck, but all women are low key psychotic a few times each month. Stuck with that in the same house, no thank you. I'd much rather stay alone and paint warhammer in peace.
>>94371989>>94372001You still gonna slap some nuln oil on that gun? It looks horrible like this.
>>94372047I did...
>>94371949My understanding of Cthonia is that it was a bit of a shithole and gangs ruled the place, but those gangs weren’t just rich fucks who owned factories and cities, they were just kind of dudes trying to survive and get by, hungry to expand but who had a sense of honour and cultural ritualism to everything. They fought to survive, and if you were strong, you could stand amongst others and live a fulfilling life, so the mindset of Cthonians is about becoming a strong, capable warrior, something that is possible if most civilians are willing to do so.Nostramo was so fucking polluted and toxic that the life expectancy for the average human wasn’t even beyond 30; the only chance you had of living beyond that was being in one of those top dog gangs and getting access to devices that prolonged your life or gave you a supply of breathable air. The short life expectancy means literally everyone on the planet is raised thinking that if you don’t stab, betray and fight to get to the top of the food chain, you’re dead before you even get to live your life, so everyone is out for themselves because not everyone can get access to those luxuries. Everyone is in the mindset that they’re on a ticking timer, and is subsequently paranoid as hell that everyone else is out to get them. Unless you’re at the top, you’re FUCKED, so they resort to more degenerate behaviour to survive and then become so familiarised with it that it becomes a part of their character.
>>94371989> that broken ammo belt> no ammo power packCheap recasts I'll presume
>>94372059Are you sure? Because on the photo it looks like there isn't even a drop of nuln oil anywhere. Did you thin the nuln oil too much, or use too little of it? With nuln oil you don't do the whole two thin layers thing.
>>94372085I didnt want the full ammo belt. I dont like the look so i broke it into pieces.>>94372093I prob didnt use enough.
>>94371615>Veteran Squads should be able to take Combat and Boarding Shields.I'd rather they'd be able to take jump packs...
>>94372093NTA but the new nuln oil is so fucking bad that sometimes I’ll slap a heavy coat of it on and when it’s dried it barely looks like it’s been actually touched. Agrax can be pretty inconsistent too, but it’s the Nuln oil I’ve noticed being crappy the most>>94372095Try getting an older bottle of it if possible or springing for an alternative black wash (Duncan’s one is apparently supposed to be pretty good from what I heard.) your blue highlights on your power armour look nice anon
>>94372118>the new nuln oil is so fucking bad that sometimes I’ll slap a heavy coat of it on and when it’s dried it barely looks like it’s been actually touchedFor real? What is happening with GW paints. Their spray cans have also plummeted in quality, the undercoat always comes out so grainy that it looks like you covered the model in sand before spray painting it. At first I thought it was just me, but every other person in the local warhammer community is having the same issue. Even more reason to stop buying any and all GW products I guess.
Sadly due to friends personal problems I will take their started armies off their hands. While happy to have Alpha Legions now, they both do have a different colour schemes. How do you deal with mismatched colour schemes in your army.Do I run ones as Inductee, the others as Veterans?Do you add some shared features across the army? Do you just repaint them?Just redo the bases?Do I also start dark angels use one colour scheme as Dark Angels allies, the other as Alpha Legion? Do I say fuck it and throw them into with my world bearers into a blackshield army?
>>94372256Depending on which units each colour scheme has, you could indeed do something like have some be inductii and the rest veterans.Would definitely make the bases uniform across both armies, that's the best way to tie an army together.
>>94371949Because Cthonia had a warrior honor culture, while nostromo had regular criminal gangbangers. Not all cultures are equal, not all worlds of the same class are the same.
>>94372449>Not all cultures are equalAnon you can't say that! :^)
>>94362807Is there a rule or faq somewhere that outright says you can't stack the same psychic ability on a unit multiple times? Some faggot is trying to break biomantic augmentation in my group by stacking it to the point of his models being t11 somehow.
>>94371949SoH were more like the Italian mob
>>94372449>Not all cultures are equalBlatant bigotry and racism.
>>94371949Nostromo had actual criminals, Cthonia had magical Aladdin criminals.
>>94372566Unfortunately not, sorry to say. You will just have to tailor your list and bully the fuck out of him until he stops. I recommend a culexus assassin, psychic hood telepathy librarian, Seekers, and Leviathan dreads with siege drills.
>>94372602Cthonia had cannibalism as part of everyday life, along with slaving, and to lead you had to kill your leader. It was a culture of tunnel fighting in some underground hell where you rarely saw the light of day. Cthonia was hell and ots part of the reason the SoH was so vicious.
>>94372566Biomancy only lasts during your turn, and can't be cast as a reaction. Just shoot him next turn.
>>94372624Cannibalism and slaving is loyalist misinformation
>>94371949Because one had shitty batman as their primarch, and one had Jesus. One of these is an effective and decisive leader needed to corral their planet. The other is Curze.
>>94372566The buff only lasts until the end of his player turn. Even if it does stack, casting it with 3 librarians in the same unit would only make toughness go up to 7.
>>94372647An Allied Detachment can get you to +4, but I assumed it was some TS bullshit.
>>94369287I always wonder how many decades must one save up to get an army as large as this one.
>>94371949They did very soon after they rebelled.By the Battle of Molech Little Gorus is commenting how companies had begun devolving into essentially qarbands led by chiefs and how they were all sporting gang tats and shit. If anything NL were a bit more sophicated about their gang politics, SoH were basically post human orks, were any idiot could just challenge the leader to prove he should be in charge and if he won the challenge, was in charge.
>>94372566That sounds like a massive waste of psychic powers to be honest
>>94372683> decades of savingThat's like 3k of plastic and resin, tops. If I wanted to guess a sager amount, I would say 5k.In what world are you so poor spending 5k requiring decades of saving.
>>94372566Why not let him have his fun with his one unit that gets buffed. It's only for his turn anyway
>>94372624You sepak like cannibalism is big deal and not sometging astartes like, if cannibalism was bad then why Emperor made his marines gain knowledge by eating flesh of their enemies and allies?Slavery is just normal thing in Imperium, just don't mention it around Corax.
>>94372675Has to be TS, independent characters + sekhmet terminator sergeant + osiron Dreadnought can also buy psychic discipline. But also nigga what you doing after that your only army will be two 10 man Tactical squads.
>>94372698> cannibalism isn't a big dealThere is a difference in that combat mutation to gain information from an enemy and literally doing it 'just because' or as a primary way to survive. The BA before finding Sangunius, who were widely known as basically cannibal mutant reavers, were even on the Berge of being purged for their actions. It wasn't a 'normal' thing. > slaveryWhile you are correct it was probably all over the place, it wasn't so commonly practiced as to be an accepted practice; in fact, the presence of slavery is often used as justification for Primarches to overthrow the world they fell on (see Angron, Corax, Vulcan and the DE slave raids on Nocturne [admittedly this is more anti xeno than anti slavery], etc).
>>94371615>Veteran Squads should be able to take Combat and Boarding ShieldsSure why not
>>94372714Doesn't even need Tactical squads, go guard of the crimson king, a praetor, 6 min sized Sekhmet Cabals, and 4 osiron dreadnoughts can fit in 3000 points. Keep in mind that this has no line and depending on Osirons to deal with anything bigger than a land raiderNow imagine this with a less faggy discipline like pyromancy
>>94371615>Veteran Squads should be able to take Combat and Boarding ShieldsYes. Veterans should also be able to take shotguns and basically every other weapons option. Theyre veterans, the whole point is that theyre the elite who know how to do whatever. >>94371716Nah, keeping kracken bolters as seeker only is fine, its specialist wargear. >>94371730That would also be cool. You upgrade a unit to veterans for +Xppm. they move to veterans, gain a WS and +1W and get the "veteran" keyword". Terminators and legion vets (dawnbringers, suzerains, etc) already have the keyword so they cant be upgraded.
>>94372698>instead of realizing that emp isn't the morally correct beacon he is portayed in propaganda as he thinks that cannibalism isn't a big dealLmfao
>>94373104I do not often agree with the self-proclaimed Master of Mankind, the False-Emperor of the Imperium, but here at least he takes a correct moral stance.
>>9437269512k per year is considered double the median salary where l live. And while 12k > 5k. You still need to pay taxes, rent, food, electricity, gas, "non obligatory " war contribution bonds etc after everything , with no kids, living with parents you maybe will have 60-100$ free money. Half you save up , so if you don't drink, go out, get sick etc you have 30-50$ to spend.
Where's the dumb blue volkite guy? Bet he's seething after the neo volkite was released in space marine 2. A game gw has kept a tight leash on and approved all design choices at the end of the day. They even made the devs change ankle armor. It's over. VOLKITE ISNT BLUE. HAHA
>>94373299If youre living in russia just get it recast for cheaper.
>>94373313Haven't seen that anon post in ages, he still living rent-free in your head?
>>94372721Anon most popular food in imperium are reprocessed corpses. And BA weren't on verge of being purged, just disliked just like pre Russ wolves or post Angron World Eaters, even fucking Night Lords were free to do as they pleased.>presence of slavery is often used as justification for Primarches to overthrow the world they fell on (see Angron, Corax, Vulcan and the DE slave raids on NocturneOnly one who overthrow slavers was Corax, Angron failed to overthrow them and Emperor just signed deal with slavers to join Imperium while allowing them to put down Angron's slave rebelion. Nocturne situation is against xenos because xenos sucks. In entire Imperium only Corax gave shit about slavery.Imperium isn't nice place and it only get worse in 40k.
>>94373299Let me clarify:5k (American, not yuro monopoly money or 'Shria law Procurement tickets' aka pounds) is not a lot of money in the 1st world the intended audience for Horus Heresy. 3rdies can fuck off, maybe checkers is more in your price range.
Do these match up with the newer scaled marines?
>>94373313Not anon you are looking for but pic relatedAlso>primaris slopa gameYou should be ashamed of yourself.>Verification not required.
>>94373426No. Those are full torso's, and the new plastic kits have half the torso attached to the legs. They're not compatible.
>>94373441>>94373313Pink volkite. Because it looks nice.
>>94372686Of course Night Lords didn't challenge their leaders. They're Night Lords. They shanked him when he wasn't lookihg.
>>94373448Shame, hopefully we get a mkiv update and some new AL mkiv heads at some point
>>94373451Green volkite is what I say. Mostly because I used orange-yellow for my Disintegrators
>>94372686>>94373454Yea, the idea that NL were cultured or something is silly. Theyre not going to do overt power plays and like to play at sophistication, but in reality theyre just a bunch of cowards who dont like fair fights. Someone trying to challenge his officer to a 1v1 would be laughed at, but at the same time someone who killed their officer would basically accomplish the same result, they would just corner them in the armory when theyre busy having their weapons cleaned and stab them while they cant fight back.
>>94373441Fanart isn't Canon...anon are you okay? Volkite is orange or red.
>>94373473Green is for grav weapons
>>94373509Volkite is whatever damn color I please because there are hundreds of Forge worlds and none of them know how to use Google docs so any semblance of standards or collaboration is non-existant.
>>94373473Disintegrators are higher end volkite, so that checks out.
>>94373541Anon, that doesn't make sense. I know you are silly, but forge worlds would base their patterns off an original. True full power vulkite is orange/red, inferior knockoffs could be blue or some other color though.
>>94373346Get a load of this no models guy
>>94373541This to an extent desu. As someone who’s been trying to paint Cthonian Headhunters as accurately to available art of them as possible, it’s been a fucking nightmare because of the colour inconsistencies>shoulder clockwork thing is gold in some art and red in others for riflemen>for Veletaris it’s silver>for command squads they’re gold>eye lenses are grey purple in books for riflemen>on art and warhammer article they’re more blue though>the veletaris have blue lenses>Charonite ogryns have red for some reason>command squad has purple blue lenses>all the GW painted models just have them as a deep blue>veletaris are supposed to have black gloves but the painting team made theirs brown>warhammer article has the tanks as a deep dark grey with red accents>art in the book + colour plate on the side of the boxes has the vehicles as the same standard grey but with black and red accentsI refuse to believe these aren’t inconsistencies because it’d be a logistical fucking nightmare to make so many different lenses and colour plating variations for what is supposed to be the same damn uniform and scheme for a cohort. You just have to get to a point where you throw your hands up and go “look I’ll just go with the coolest looking thing in my opinion”
>>943733465k for a tabletop army is a ridiculous amount of money for what you're getting regardless of whether you're willing to spend it
>>94373618>a cohortHeadhunters aren't a single cohort. It's like the rams.
>>94373509That's from Mechanicus codex including current model. You might not like it but that's what GW consider volkite.
>>94373653I know, but having such extreme variances for select few cohorts doesn’t really make that much sense
>>94373618Wait till you see legion unit markings.Even in libers unit are marked one way in "what markings legion used" and completly diferent on next page with real colour schemes, only to be even diferent on next page with painted miniatures. There is almost 0 consistency outside of main legion colours.
>>94373693They base their colors off the cthonian history and traditions. Imagine, if you will, a huge number of cohorts based off today's earth customs and colors. Some might wear only blue because earth is covered mostly by water, some only green because that's where humanity lives, some might base them off their country's flag because that's where they are from, some might base them off a certain political party or a certain military units they might have been a part of before, etc... I like their original light grey and red helmet and shoulder pads, it feels less cartoonishly evil. Just find the one you like anon and do that.
>>94363164Tactical rock + grime + edge highlight the sharp browAdd some lean to their stance to angle the brow further, and taking a big menacing step forward (preferably over the husk of a hated foe) always helps
>>94363164Despite how much I dislike the way that dorito dreadnoughts look, it's very tempting to get one just to try and pose it in a way that looks cool. Haven't seen it done yet, and I like a good challenge.
>>94373313https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LOSF7SyGqsBoltgun did it first. The FW team did this even earlier when talking to the BL artists that drew them in some covers. I'm not sure why you or >>94373441 are using guns that aren't even from the HH to prove their color when it's already known.
