Post models. Here’s my recent table standard Contrastra.

Skaven realy aren't soing much
Does anybody have any tips for this glottkin? I have no previous experience with big monsters/giants so I'm overwhelmed. I want to get it done so I'm not above using contrast paint. I stopped working on this glottkin months ago and he's been shaming me from across the room since. Should I airbrush him again then shade the cracks and just drybrush it uniformly all over or do slapchop? I feel like over thinking this a lot and I can paint him faster with "monster" paint techniques than I could a squad of 5 CSM. kind of like how people do a GUO or carnosaurs.>>94378554looks good. I recently found all the EmanG STL's of the models he ripped from total war and I'm glad I can print a goblin shaman that looks better than GW's resin/metal slop.
>>94379740>all those gapscome on anon
>>94379754calm your tits I'm going to close them.i already had to close them all from the inside using greenstuff, or else you'd see light coming through from the other end.
>>94377791>TQ…none. Lack of a central core world makes me not giving a shit about either of its eight satellites.

Anyone interested in the Underworlds revamp? Gonna give it a whirl this weekend. Haven't played any of the previous editions.
>>94380303I still haven't had much chance to play with the previous starter i bought this summer, so i'll probably stay edition behind for a bit
>>94380303Seems like they completely gimped it to be perfectly honest. Rempving faction rivals decks and replacing them with 3 (sometimes not even mainstay or iconic) abilities feels scuffed. On top of that half the warbands aren't in the game outside of just being random stat blocks.
>>94380293magic the gathering
>>94380303Why would any sane human being be interested in this atrocity?
>>94380303Sorry should have also mentioned on top of my bitching, nice paintjob.
>>94380393>>94380409Thankfully (?) I don't have the previous edition to compare it to, so it's just gonna be another side game for me.From what I heard, seems like they're gonna rotate rival decks out instead of whole warbands this time, since cards aren't tied to warbands now.>>94380430Thanks!
>>94380129Where is Gitz' Bad Moon?
>>94380608Wherever it wants. Putting it on a map would be counterproductive, since it changes postion at random
>>94380129Is that thing near Ghur and Chamon something in particular or is it just a little drawing of nothing
>>94380694Considering its not on the new one, its just a scrible
>>94380694maybe a silver tower, but I wouldn't put too much attention to it
>>94380739AoS lore and setting is so silly, but that's also part of the charm for me. It feels like a big WH Fantasy fan fiction turned up to 11
>>94380769I like how 40k fags shit on aos lore when theirs is just as stupid if you dig a bit deeper
>>94380786You dont need to dig deeper, people just dont want to accept a fantasy setting that actually does something cool with magic. + edgy idea that "grounded" or "low" or "realistic" fantasy is inherently better
>>94380606They did in fact say they're rotating warbands too but that's all for competitive shit. The new game is borderline the exact same with a few changes other than completely removing faction decks. If they had just released updated unit cards for the older more shit warbands alongside a general re-release it would have done wonders and not just kinda thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
>>94380945I think the game just got too bloated like with any GW game and needed a reset.
>>94380769Old Fantasy was kinda just a ripoff of DnD stuff due to its beginnings, and evolved to be its own thing with more edge. Now that I think about it, there is no such thing as a Warhammer property that isn't just retarded fanfiction.
>>94380786The most common one I see is 'but the setting is too huge, i can't care about such a large scope!' when the realms are equivalent to a solar system at most, meanwhile the imperium is a million worlds (which is a tiny proportion of the actual thousands of billions of planets that exist in the galaxy) and every time an event happens they just make up a whole new planet
>>94380754>maybe a silver tower, but I wouldn't put too much attention to itRookie mistake, Anon. And it will cost you dearly.
Latest skaven and Ogre battletomes please?
>>94381233>We just killed cadia after 40 years>Moves to New CadiaIts also a dumb argument considering that both Fantasy and 40k for most of their existance were not stories as GW tries to do it now, they were settings with a certain status quo, in which they put different events mostly unrelated to eachother, thats why Grom the paunch or Tycho were playable characters but were dead in the lore. The entire point of 40ks hugeness, is so that the authors could have fun with War for Armageddon, or the Badab war
>>94381375...so it's a decoy.
>>94381081Problem is they could have easily just done a big rule reset with a new season but they did that and then also nullified all cards then just put the same cards out again with no art and a different card back. I'm biased though, I actually really enjoyed underworlds and figured some rule changes would be nice but the way GW did this is stupid.
>>94381375wanna know which silver tower was active between chamon and ghur and promptly disappeared?
>8 flies>20 putrid bois>big dirty boy GUO>the GlottkingsWould I need more for casual play?
Evening all.Does anyone know if the spiked balls that come with the Gothizzar Harvester kit are any bigger than the ones that are in the Stormfiends kit?
>>94381948gut says yes
Short king crunch
>>94381948From what I recall they gauntlets are bigger but the balls themselves are relatively the same size.
>>94381948this is a generous comparison regarding the stormfiend's size
>>94382011Gothizzar is around the same size if not for the giant backsack, a wee bit bigger. If I hadn't just sold all my skaven (for way too fucking little) I'd do a side by side.
>>94381948A little bit bigger, yeah.
Okay, how do we fix regiments? Right now, they're just restrictive, and that's all they are. My proposal would be that regiments work in a similar way to previous editions of 40k's Imperial Guard Platoons, but better. You have your Leader who extends their "aura" or, if alive, allows you to get an extra [thing] for units under their regiment. You can take the optional Hero (which would not count towards the 3/4 of the Regiment's limit) that can extend the "aura" of the regiment commander, maybe. Then your choices as normal, of course. Maybe they'd have to stay within a certain range of their commander, not just for an "aura" but for [reason]? I'll be honest, I was mostly thinking about CoS with this and wanted to expand the "Officar Orders" which seems incredibly thematic and, dare I say, fun? A CoS Captain/Fusil-Major/something would be the standard Regimental leader, and the mandatory (for CoS) Hero could be a Serjeant or Standard Bearer or something. It'd have to be slightly limited to the Commander, though. Steelhelms under [Steelhelm Commander], Fusiliers under [Fusilier Commander], etc. Each could have their own Orders to give to their regiment type. I don't know. Just something to make it more interesting and unique, and not just "choose your leader and its troops okay done."
Which army has the most goth, metal feel? Give me army that my 13 yo self would love, the army that lives between Chamon and Ulgu and will awaken the chuunibyou in me.
>>94382241Metal, I'd say Flesheater courts, Goth I'd say Nighthaunt. Both fit that specific niche nicely for me.
It would have been nice if there were a single piece of official Petrifex Elite artwork that might be attached to the WD feature. But there is no such thing.
>>94382241>goth, metal feel?gravelords, khainites, chaos, either undivided or slaanesh most probably gravelords
>>94381936Nah, maybe some foot heroes?>>94382241Metal -FEC/StDGoth -NH/IDK
>>94382241DoK, but you have to buy dozen Underowrlds boxes with leather pants infantry for the effect
>>94382191I think artefacts and command traits could be reawards for fitting within the regiment
>>94382241Depending how you paint them, DoK
>>94382278Majority of subfactions don't have art.
>>94382373Yeah and that should change.
What is the saddest faction in AoS? Dispossessed?
>>94382589Spiderfang
>>94382589beasts of chaos probably, maybe bonespliiters. i think beasts of chaos were sadder because there was actually something there. with bonesplitters the writing had been on the wall for a decade, and like 2 people in the whole world even played the faction, but beasts were quite popular, had gotten modern aos endless spells, terrain, and were starting to get new beastmen units like a new beastlord, as well as one of the most dynamic and interesting rules refreshes of the entire games lifetime through all its editions. they essentially pulled the rug out from under all the beasts players overnight, and the craziest part is that they are still going to offer the models, but only have them be playable in the pet project side game despite the fact that they could easily have the army in both games at no cost to them. this to me is the strongest argument for the internal balance sheet rumor, with specialist games essentially stealing armies and units (horus heresy stuff from 40k too) because their balance sheets cant show sales for 2 games at the same time.
>>94382649They were 2nd least played army, anon. They had more than twice representation of bonesplitter players, who were beyond rare, but they were far from popular. Agree with rest of your post otherwise.
>>94382640>Oh we have this underutilised subfaction in Gloomspite, boss what should we do with them?>Add another subfaction nobody asked for it and lets ignore the rest of the subfactions.
>>94382718Spiderfang had great rules in BR tbf, everything was looking up before 4e.
>>94382718spiders are getting towed away >nobody asked for sun grotslmao
>>94382649>beasts of chaosI, for one, do not care about demise of our unevolved brutish cousins. (Pity about Dragon Ogors though. They are mighty enough.)
>>94382745How does this argument work when wolf riders are a thing in TOW too and the recent leaks say GSG are getting the Doom Diver Catapult
>>94382781easy: everything about sun grots is or will be new and an aos-specific box, while spider riders and the aracnarok are older models that the tow armylist means to sell while not having tow-specific box for them (yet)
>>94382278Post all the rules and sheit
>>94380303If any of DoK warbands would have survived in to revamp? Then sure. Not interested in the legacy rules vomit> Nice paintjob btw
>>94382713>They were 2nd least played armynot even close
>>94382830I'm just grabbing shit from yt but okay
>>94382975
>>94383010
>>94383020
>>94383010Oh so he's>ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL
>>94382649For me the problem with BoC that 1.) they were ugly as shit (why hadn't GW hire some good furry artist?) and 2.) only two kinds of Bestigor (Blue Birds of Unhappiness and Slaangor). Where are hound-faced heavily armored Khorngors with horns shaped like Mark of Khorne? Where are bloated, rotting, dung-covered Pestigors? (OK, I get why GW didn't release such units.)
>>94382191Regiments get more restrictive but they each get their own ability (maybe even not more restrictive, since it would already incentivies player to focus on specific units in given regiment). You can get more then one of the same regiment. Optional heroes don't count towards unit cap.
>>94383077the god aligned armies still have their chance to get their own versions of beastmenand I say pestigors should be made into beetles or in any case insectoid beastmen
>>94383135I like that idea, It gives them another much needed angle to expand army books because only having men/demon gets boring. Beastmen part would make them rly cool.
New Whitefang leak
>>94383455>spiders are getting replaced by the most boring and mundane shit possible
>>94383455The wolf was really obvious, we had rumor engine thats the exact same armor as the normal wolf riders but bigger for a while now.>>94383489Im more annoyed with more special characters
>>94383489spiderfags were a mistake to begin with
>>94383308I fucking loved that game but my internet was shitty back then, why did it have to die
>>94383554Explain your grievance(s) with spiders that wouldn't be rectified with new kits
>>94383581half naked redskins is a terrible characterisation and changing them into more night goblins would make them redundant with squigs
>>94381450New Cadia is supposed to be an entirely different system they can set up a front line on. Cadians however breed like fucking rats and always get conquest rights to worlds
>>94383455STOP WITH SPECIAL CHARACTERS STOP WITH SPECIAL CHARACTERS FUCKSTOP MAKING SPECIAL CHARACTERS OR HEROES WITH 1 WEAPON PROFILE THAT COVERS EVERYTHING IT'S SO FUCKING BORING FOR FUCK'S SAKE THERE ARE TOO MANY SPECIAL CHARACTERS SOME FACTIONS HAVE MORE CHARACTERS THAN TROOPS TO LEAD HOLY FUCK STOP
>>94383660False dilemma
>>94383489Mudcore won for some reason.
>>94380303all I care about is getting the Thricefold Discord without having to buy a bunch of dang fish elf models with them
>>94383755normally I'd agree but if they're fleshing out an aspect of the army that doesn't currently have any special characters, then a special character is pretty necessary.
>>94384293Have they released any of the vs. box warbands individually since the inception of the game? I don't recall ever seeing them.
>>94383029These rules are almost insultingly bad
>>94384308They are never necessary you are just a faggot.
I want to be pegged by Morathi
>>94384466Consider what happens to armies without any named characters. Beastmen, Bonesplitterz, Spider-Riders, Pre-revamp Cities. If you want to be part of the story, and get continued support, you need a named character model.
>>94384394Not usually, but since they did like five fucking vs boxes that never got separate releases, and this is a whole new revamped edition, I'm hoping against hope that they do a wave of just recent warbands individually boxed with the new cards
>>94384585Cities didn't need named heroes imo. It sort of detracts from the fact they're meant to be John Everyman facing The Horrors. Now it's Tahlia and Zenestra with their faceless mooks instead of Stormhammer Lightningman leading them.
>>94384595For good or bad, AoS has always been way more hero focused than WFB was. Honestly even more than 40k is.Tahlia and Zenestra are good characters, appropriate for the army. They both draw their power from their ability to lead. They might be good on the table but in the fluff they're still just human. Tahlia got her position by managing to force standardized tactics on City militias, Zenestra by her position as a religious leader. They make sense as centerpiece heroes for the army
>>94384585Clan Skryre has no named characters>not an armyNeither is Spiderfang by that logic
>>94384635Generic character is always preferable to a good named character, only exception are overall faction leaders
>>94384635I just wonder why they didn't bother giving each a generic option. Freeguild General on Manticore, or maybe including enough bits to make a different monster would've sold gangbusters.
>>94384585Unless you're Ogres, then you get a free pass.
>>94379740Needs some washes and pick out details. The problem is the joins. You didn't smooth them out so now your washes will settle in them too and stand out even worse.
>>94382241inb4 image of the black metal Darkoath army
>>94385144Isn't that basically just brutal legend?
What do you use to proxy grave guard? They just look old now, I really don't want to run them with these models. Same goes for the necromancer model
>>94385323Most people just use the new skeletons and find some non-armored variety to be the generics from what folks have told me.Necromancer there's like a billion other options, I personally like the Zondara model from the underworlds warband.
>>94378291My most recent ones.
>>94385339You mean the deathrattle skeletons? As in, only running deathrattle and no grave guard?
>>94385323man I really hope the new grave guard will have half of the charm of the old ones.>>94385510Anon means that people use the current deathrattle skeletons as grave guard because they are fully armored and use 3rd party stuff with less armor for normal skeletons.
>>94384635I'll definitely say that I appreciate them being (for AoS) grounded in terms of why they're heroes. Tahlia is, like you said, just a military genius on a giant manicore. Zenestra is a bit more out there because of the skeleton and her priestly powers.>>94384685I'm going to make Zenestra a Grail Reliquae one of these days. I'd rather both sides have skeletons or even a casket than her. Le Black Person memes aside, I genuinely think the model would be a lot cooler if I could make it more martyr-y
>>94385339That model from Zondara's gravebreakers is awesome. Might go with that or Octren Glimscry
>>94383489>>94383455My opinion on Whitefang fell when the retard was shocked Skaven weren't in TOW. Like, how retarded is he? He clearly has a friend who is sort of involved in GWHQ. But a lot of this strikes me as>My friend saw a guy working on a model on a screen and that means X is comingBut his absolute seething over TOW makes me think he really is reliant on his friend.
>>94385439Good work. Not really a fan of the purple ones, but that's just me. Maybe if I saw them next to the rest of your army.
>>94378291Finished this guy up earlier this week
>>94385812Cool conversion
>>94385812holy moly this is pretty cool

>>94385942They look like they start singing "I was made for loving you" kek.
>>94384308Worked fine for 20years with generic hero that you can adapt to list/fluff. Redditors need marvelino characters because they lack frontal lobes

>>94386774>VerminslayerSorry for slop but I couldn't resist.
>>94381974What is the point of them being "unified"? Can´t see any way that affects a unit
>>94386774>GuymerGood.
>>94386848They want you to mix unit types.
>>94386864Yes, but the Unified keyword gives you nothing, so why would you?
>>94386881I don't understand the question. It's an army where the premise is mixing units from different factions. The army has several abilities that only work if units from the different factions are on the table and in close proximity to each other. Presumably the army would be played by people who want to mix the different factions.
>>94386774cool, maleneth returns as a freeguild
>>94386774>go hard on Malekith>develops the character over 3 books>kill her off>replace her with a cringe atheist>leaves gotrek>replace her with le heckin brown womanGoddamn why the hell did they do this? First they remove Wanderers and Phoenix Guard. Then they marginalize any mention of aelves in the 3e tome, when Disposessed get canned from the store. Now we can't even have CoS elves in fucking fiction?
>>94386989They raceswapped shevanya from callis and toll too. To be fair this is typical gw bait and switch in "death by thousand cuts" style
>>94385767I think it's worth noting that the poster in that screenshot isn't Whitefang; it's "Whitefang back me up", an entirely different leaker.
>>94386954But I want Felix and the gang back :(
>>94386954that's another unrelated strong independent black female coprotag-along

>>94387474no bow cavalryno real mongorians
>>94387474I love that fucking stupid biting sword
>>94386774>GuymerBased. Although at this point I'd rather they have just stuck with Maleneth instead of swapping companion out every book now. But I guess Guymer didn't think the guy who followed him up would've done well by the character. And now we're onto girl number 3. I guess if Guymer kills this one off as well when he leaves the book again, I'd rather they finally give up and just bring back Felix.
How tall is the Krondspine Incarnate?
>>94387504Felix as an undead for some reason, I either want sad ghost Felix or skeleton Felix.
>>94387527I'd take back Felix anyway they want to at this point. Gotrek works best with a staple companion. Maleneth served that well, but until we see how they handle the new girl, I don't put much faith in it not rotating again
>>94381974There are more legend armies like this? What kind of book?
>>94387527He in NH 99%
>>94387636Is there some way we could get him as a reject ossiarch? And he still tries to flirt with women despite being an exoskeloteen monster.
>>94387527>>94387636pretty sure they already confirmed long ago that felix's soul is not in an underworldthey're obviously keeping him aside for the inevitable stormcast return
>>94387658I do find it funny that even as a stormcast, Felix would still somehow be carried by Gotrek.
My Unlce works at GW.Felix was supposed to be a Bestigor now, but Beastmen squat delayed him indefinietly
>>94387674well, gotrek has been established as kind of a semidivine deal.but yeah, one way or another their interactions would be very predictable: it's either a return to how they already interacted in the old books, or felix has amnesia, behaves like your run of the mill dutiful and brooding stormcast and gotrek has to play the part of the remembrancer in both light hearted ways, like bringing up in the middle of a fight how this reminds him of one of their classic adventures, only for felix to act dumbfounded, and in emotionally charged situations where gotrek realises felix is truly lost but still cares for his old manling because he found out how he did carry his oath in some way before becoming a completely mindwiped stormpuppet, like perhaps he tried publishing the book at some point or gotrek's tale lives on in the warchants of some distant stormhost he acted as heraldor for, even though they mispronounce the names and such.
>>94387752Felix is not coming back, because noone actually cares
>>94387504should just bring back maleneth. lunatic dwarf & lunatic elf 'combo' works much better in aos than any kind of human (sce included) ever couldmaybe they will after this... amara and this new gal are only there because gw/bl goes hard on promoting cities of sigmar humans ever since mid 3rd edition
This is nice.
>>94387782I'm still miffed by the fact his signature temple pillar hammerhead isn't particularly big
>>94387789A relatable peeve.
>>94387789His pre-mega-gargant depiction was more conceptually fun. I get that they were maybe going for a "Brodd grew so big that his previously huge weapon is relatively tiny now" angle, but at the end of the day it's ultimately just a big hammer now.
>>94387852the problem is not that his new hammer is relatively smaller compared to his grown body, but that it's also both objective smaller compared to that column and smaller than the piece of masonry the gatebreaker swings around
>>94387782butchered that foot
Anyone have any decent advice for building an Ossiarch army? I'm finally getting a grasp of what they do but still not 100% sure why you'd take Mortek over Kavalos, I like the Gothizzar but they seem a bit too overpriced for what they do. Also I like Arkhan and Katakros but not sure if I'd ever want both in the army at the same time even if they do good shit. If anyone just has general list building advice or description of what generally bonereapers are best at it'd help loads.
>>94386068Can't do generic heroes anymore because they're not able to be copyrighted and because optional equipment is a thing of the past. We live in the age of Card Games Workshop and not War Games Workshop (for its two main games, and their skirmish versions). I would love a return to options, of course. The AoA is a sad afterthought.
>>94387991I would enjoy if each faction got one new foot hero of some description that could just be built in a wide variety of ways: weapons, loadouts, different heads and arm options, if they're feeling really fucking crazy give us mounted or non mounted. I think having something like that even if it meant GW charged out the ass would do wonders for a lot of folks to just have a /your dude/. Personally I've already got /my dude/, good ol Skrote the Skaven Packmaster.

I never played this but the lore and all that seems very interesting. Are there any good starter sets to look into? I saw an Skaven x Imperials one?Wood elves (coolest minis), Skaven, Brettonia, Ogres, Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarves all seem cool.

>>94388326I usually recommend getting any kind of bundle box that has a good selection of miniatures that interest you to start with.>Wood elves (coolest minis), Skaven, Brettonia, Ogres, Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarves all seem cool.Well, Wood Elves and Brettonia are armies in the Old World, not Age of Sigmar, so if you want to play those, you'd be better served in that game. Unless you mean the literal tree-person elf faction in AoS (Sylvaneth), that is.Lizardmen in AoS have a fantastic range right now since they recently got a big revamp.Ogres might be getting a revamp sometime in the future, but it's uncertain. They're one of, if not the only army that still has resin finecast models for key units, which is a negative.Chaos Dwarfs are not currently playable, but are basically confirmed to be getting added to the game next year. We don't know much about what they'll actually be like.
>>94388367>>94388326Oh and Skaven are also a very solid choice since they're in the same situation as lizardmen.
>>94386068>implying old GW didn't make guys with namesFake oldfaggot detected
>>94388326>but the lore and all that seems very interesting>Brettonia, Chaos Dwarves2 genuine questions: do you come from total war warhammer?do you know that "warhammer age of sigmar" is specifically set in what's essentially a very distinct reality/time period/status quo, than warhammer fantasy as you might know it from total war or lore videos?
>>94386929I see the problem. I am a retard and I can´t read
>>94388402What if I came from Warhammer Fantasy books as a middle schooler, then Blood Bowl, then video games, then Age of Sigmar.
>>94388337You mean Citadel or Battle-Ready?
>>94387852>>94387782>>94387862I didnt know people that cared about SoB existed. You learn something new everyday
>>94388879Only thing stopping me from getting a SoB army, is kits being very overpriiced due to being the same kit with a shit tonn of upgrade sprues, and their legs all being in the same pose, just having 3 retards sounds neat, and they atleast saved their fun rules like objective and corpse throwing
>>94388712nothing, but chances are that if you come from total war you might be confused with what's going on with the setting right now
>>94388954It makes enough sense if you can logically follow through on the end times blowing up the world and there just being a universe for all 8 winds of magic and one neutral door universe.Though I will ask, are the planes of existence just like a different planet for each one or like a whole other universe.
>>94388977They are pretty much like planets, because you can travel from one to another without any realmgates, if you can wishstand all the magic fuckery, and looking at other realms like stars can be used to read the future (Best comparison are realms from norse mythology, and generally, AoS is more of a mythology inspired thing, than history one)
>>94388879/aosg/ has always benn SoB thread
>>94389001Oh neat, kinda like the world in Disco Elysium. I'm still kinda getting into the base level, I know the lore of the factions and characters but am severely lacking in knowledge on how the worlds function. So far i've gotten through Soul Wars and am reading Realmslayer now.
>>94388879It's a known fact that the kraken-eater is the coolest shit.
>>94389018I recommend reading some short stories to get a generall feel for different realms, my favourite is "All is foretold"
>>94389050Thanks anon, I'll do some peeping around into whatever seems interesting. Will keep me trucking along while I get to work on my newly (still kinda fucked up) Ebay save Arkhan
>>94388391No fag U had named characters to play campains with. Not random meet-up games. There was time when it was polite to ask if it was ok to have one in list. It was ok to say no and expect second list without one. Post your second list.
>>94389023Interesting how he got reflavoured from being the monster killer to being a treasure collector gargant
>>94389023true
>>94389018>but am severely lacking in knowledge on how the worlds function.geographically? politically? historically? cosmologically? practically?
>>94389367Well I get that they're all basically seperate planets in a very small little orbit, you got portals inbetween and to a central hub area like Mario 64 (which I guess Chaos controls now?) Sigmar lives in light planet, which he locked off for awhile to get his shit together, eventually coming out with stormcast to blow up the chaos for a bit, Nagash lives in Death realm and is continuously doing Nagash things. I know that basically every faction is in every realm so there is /your guys/ representation and everything is relatively wide open lore wise.I know each of the planets is themed after a type of magic, I know the skaven kinda have their own means to just go wherever the fuck without the standard portals, I have 0 idea on politics, and I don't think there is any practicality since it's all just magic bullshit.I remember some guy who worked at my FLGS spent like 30 minutes explaining the base of AoS to me...
Are Lizardmen from 6th edition Warhammer allowed on AoS events? a.) Yes. b.) You'll be a laughing stock. c.) Fuck off, grog.
>>94389420yes, with 3 problems:lord kroak, the carnosaur and saurus cavalry got WAY larger nowadays, so using the old models might incur in a few arguments regarding line of sight or base contact
>>94389420a)They've been AoS models for most of AoS life lol. And people ususally quite like seeing old models
>>94389401the actually important parts of the realms end up being relatively discreet landmasses, which we have maps forhere are the videos from wh+ making a recap of the lore of the realmshttps://gofile.io/d/aSjX2iI'm uploading the rest in a while
>>94389525Oh shit thank you anon, I'll take a look here once I'm off work.
>>94388879I more so like the idea of them. I wish that they were more of a "Monsters of Destruction" army with various big kaijus instead of only being gargants.
>>94389420Sure, but you have to check if they have equivalnet modern units to use them as.Basic Suarus for Saurus is easy, but you won't field a Saurus hero on a cold one because small cavalry doesn't have heroes now and modern maunted sauruses are on bigger dinos
>>94389568It would be a good excuse to save the BoC giants(whatever their name was)
>>94389401I'm pretty sure those aren't planets but rather flat planes. At the central part they're rather stable, but the further away you go from the center, the more unstable they become and the power of their respective "magic" is more and more wild.
>>94389525alright, 6 videos should be everything
>>94389612>I'm pretty sure those aren't planets but rather flat planesLets be honest, outside of edge cases (see what i did there?) the're functionally identical.Especially when you have space fering factions that just fly between them
>>94389742the edge cases can be fun:beastgrave was used as a navigation point of reference in ghur because it was allegedly visible from any point of the realm, for example
>>94389777Must have been realy fucing tall, but i guess without curviture of the Earth this sort of thing is possible
>>94387977it looks like it's something strapped on top of the foot.
>>94386989The warpriest woman becoming his companion, deciding that even if she can’t put her faith in Sigmar anymore she can put her faith in Gotrek, and then him IMMEDIATELY ditching her off-screen between books is so fucking funny. Can’t imagine how incompetent you have to be to have him move from schizophrenically jumping between motivations and goals that he ditches off-screen to full on doing it with companions you dedicate the books to giving an arc. What reason is there to read any of these, when they’re doing shit like this
>>94389420As long as they’re on the right bases, probably
Do DOK need morathi at 2k?
>>94391946Don't need. But she's fantastic
>>94392023what are some of the noob trap units for DOK? I kind of like the whip and buckler sisters but I wonder if I am fooling myself
>>94392133DoK actually has pretty good internal balance, pretty much everything is viable.Sneks and elves are all great at killing, khinerai or shadow stalkers are great for objective stealing. Warlocks are low-key good, spells, fast, kind of tough. Heroes all do good buffing work.
>>94392154Okay, that works. I thought I lost my touch at spotting the weak links but if everything is pretty solid that makes sense. My current list idea for general LGS play is 2 warlocks, 10 choppy snakes, 10 bow snakes, 20 buckler sisters, hag cauldron, hero killer HQ, melee snake hq and some shadowstalkers/khinerai to fill in the gaps
>>94392242Nice.I'm only just getting into AoS but have played plenty of other games so generally can see what's decent/not decent. Not good enough to figure out those broken combos though. Am starting a 1k league, doing Medusa, reinforced spear Sneks, reinforced bow Sneks, unit of spear snakes, khinerai heartrenders.
>>94389420b) if they are on square bases, a) otherwise.
>>94387474I think mournfang riders are cool conceptually and flavorful but their current kit has some bad proportions. The mournfang doesn't look wide or strong enough to support the oversized ogor riding it.\also why does that guy have a sword going through his chest like the artist forgot to paste in the scabbard? is that some weird kind of retarded piercing or sword holder?
>>94385812lol, you'd think James would encourage more kitbashing since people would have to buy more of their plastic.does the cannon come off or is it permanently attached?
>>94392473Yeah he's using the piercing as a scabbard, it looks a little goofy but i assume its meant to show off how tough ogors are, and how thick their skin is
>>94392480>does the cannon come off or is it permanently attached?Permanent, putting the regular stuff on there wouldn't really fit with the crew anymore after I modded them to be working the cannon. I remain convinced that the lack of kitbashing support is due solely to the Chapterhouse ruling, which seems to hang over GW like the sword of Damocles.
>>94387982Ossiarch is an elite army with bone constructs who just keep regenerating and will relentlessly advance.Except in V4 your only healing ability is a opt on a 3+, the big multi-armed stalkers are now weaker than a mortek guard, and everything is designed around Katakross. So just grab a Katakross, roughly one thousand deathriders because every other unit isn't worth it, two gargoyles as a treat and you're done
>>94387982kavalos deathriders are currently overtuned and in line for a nerf. OBR are taking a lot of 5-0/6-0 at events and most of those lists feature 30 deathriders. im not saying dont buy deathriders, but i'd wait and see the next balance patch before you buy 30 of them
>>94392608> the big multi-armed stalkers are now weaker than a mortek guardi think the stalkers fell into the trap that a lot of banner and command foot heroes did, in that the rules designers thought control score was going to be a LOT more important than it was, and the stalkers were redesigned into control nerfing bullies, but it turns out thats just a really fucking bad role unless you have a rule like ironjawz brutes that straight up shuts off scoring. that said, between stalkers and katakross, you can swing a control difference on an objective by 6 per unit, which would actually be pretty significant if the game werent so binary live/die where nothing survives a single combat with a hammer this edition
>>94385926>>94386108Harvester balls are bigger but Stormfiend balls spin like fucking power tools. >IS NOT SIZE-BULK OF BOAT BUT MOTION OF OCEAN, YES-NO?
>>94389420d.) Every fa/tg/uy will want to touch your models with his greasy dirty fingers.
>>94392874That's why you put plastic bags on top of your units
>>94383135>>94383281god aligned Gors are cool, I hope maggotkin get pestigors or toad riders with their tome release. I think pestigors would fit the mortal chaff space in the army (pay no mind to rotmire creed) and they don't have grounded cavalry either. and yes I also hope to see more bug mutations in mortals as opposed to just tentacles and asymterical horns. Nurgle armies are the coolest next to tzeentch
Reading First Forged and they act like Thunderstrike are a different corp or division of the army with the same animosity you might find between the navy and soldiers ig, but I thought Thunderstrike was just newly reforged Stormcast?
>>94393522It’s just a new armor type. Probably the author hadn’t received precise notes on them before starting the book. Much like with Kragnos’s character in his book being nothing like the one we got in canon.
>another strong female companion for Gotrek laying it on a little thick don't you think?
Do LRL need any of the cow of 'roo units or can they do fine without?
>>94393522their introduction muddied the waters a bit because on one hand you had GW trying to reassure the paypigs that the fatcasts wouldn't get squatted and they should keep buying them (lmao), on the other GW was hyping thunderstrikes up by saying that the stormcasts reforged into thunderstrike armours either had to be or had to become stronger in body, spirit and will and yadda yaddaaside from the above it IS likely that there would be a certain level of detachment between thunderstrikes and fatcasts because the former are mostly organised in separate units and specifically made to be sent on missions and operations where fatcasts are becoming less viable, such as prolonged deployments in areas of the realms where belakor's cursed skies make the deployment and retrieval of fatcasts dangerous if not impossible, so while they can coexist in the same armies, it is also possible that especially at the beginning they would be used in different contexts and not share much
>>94393522The author basically copypasted the firstborn-primaris dynamic from 40k. Hammerhal & the Hammers of Sigmar basically read like the Imperium in that novel. I still enjoyed it, but I have issues with it.
>>94387474New ogor book when?
>>94393522Thunderstrike is just an armor type.
>>94393588second half if not end of the edition, they're getting a refresh/redesign of their 6th ed models to free up the old range to be picked up by the old world for its second edition.
>>943935882028
>>94392608Well... I got the spearhead, and I was the guy who traded some orc terrain for the 6 morghasts and heroes. I got a katakros and Arkhan so sounds like I'm set. And like the other anon said as long as I don't heavily invest in a. Unit that's gonna get nerfed shit's kosher.
>>94393588Not anytime soon, given that Warclans and Gits are early next year.

>>94394010All Gitz are reddit users and worship Science
>>94392638I don't get how they're super great. If you get charged instead their output is balls and they only have 1 rend, which means anything 3+ just pops AoD and it's a snoozefest. I have no idea how to pilot 30 of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loTXFzymdM4News drought ends soon... Maybe we'll see the Gitmob stuff?
>>94394401It’s gonna be the IJ spearhead and the slittaboss that leaked. They’ll call that “loads of awesome releases” for AoS.
>>94393414Same here bro.
>>94394428We are getting more than a pity hero for KB, right? Orruk cavalry, big monster or hobgrot variant, right?Jokes aside, I like that hobgrot hero and there is a place for him in the army but KB are already full with heroes and is in dire need of normal units.
>>94394574given that we are not "battletome: Kruleboyz" and "battletome: Ironjawz", but rather still stuck with "Battletome: orruk warclans", i wouldnt get your hopes up
How are DoK looking? I have their vanguard box but only ever built the snake ladies in it. I think I'll assemble the ladies as sisters of slaughter soon. The horses are still trash?
>>94394586It’s weird how they said the split was happening but still refer to both as Orruk Warclans. I guess the only hope is that they’re actually 2 battletomes in the same book.
>>94394586>>94394594It seems that they will be 2 tomes in one book for whatever reason. Remember, there is no BigWaah anymore
>>94394586I think they might get a slim chance of getting something
>>94394147i dont play the army, but just looking at it and crunching a little math hammer30 wounds with a 3+/5+++, retreat and charge, +1 to charge, can jump over most screens, averages around 14-15 damage into a 3+ enemy with AoD or 30 damage into a 4+ save enemy, access to both strikes first and strikes last onto the opponent, and a bonus to control.i mean...what doesnt it do? i guess it doesnt have true fly, and it doesnt shoot. maybe some enemy cav are slightly faster and could outmanuever it (but couldnt pin it down with retreat and charge)and all that for 100points cheaper than an equivalent squad of dawnriders or blood knights. why wouldnt you take em?
>>94394574Hobgrots are my favorite part of Destruction, but the hero's kind of boring. I would love to buy a recast of him and see if I could improve it, though.
>>94394574It's been only a year since the last major Warclans releas and OWC got 2 major releases in 1 edition. Sitting this one out isn't the end of the world
>>94394674That's my thoughts, just in general right now it feels like there is fuckall reason to NOT take Cavalry over infantry with how points / stats are. Which is a bummer, I like cav to an extent but don't want a full list of horse dudes.
>>94394763Well, KB only got one release out of all of those mentioned so I think they need more, like 3 nonhero units, to be complete. I would like it sooner rather than later. How is that weird?
>>94394721I don't get Hobgrots. I like their lore enough and they have a role in an army but I don't know how to customize them or how to paint them (aside from their suggested colors)
>>94394890mine are green instead of yellow. fits better with the army
>>94394890>I don't know how to customize themHowever you want. They're almsot naked, you can easily add stuff to them
>>94394890>I don't know how to customize themThey're unscrupulous traders; you can customize them with basically anything. I'm building some to look like they stole a bunch of skaven globes and blades right now.
>>94394907So are they orruk kids in your lore?
>>94394976nah they're just greenskins. all my greenskins are green. my kruleboyz, hobgrots, ironjawz, gloomspite, and so on.
>>94394916>>94394930I meant that I tried some things like being obsessed with gunpowder or having goudy and impractical armaments but it never looks like it fits. They are weirdly specific in design
>>94394976They're just another species
First time wanting to get a battleforce and I am a bit confused. Just found out they announced the preorders to be going out last sunday, but I can't find anything on the store. I'm a bit paranoid about missing out, so anyone got full info of how or when to buy them?
>>94395350I just got mine from my local store.
>>94395350Sunday articles are for announcing the preorders that will be available that coming Saturday. So tomorrow. Unless you live in Aus, which will be a few more hours.
>>94395363Ah, okay then, ty for info. Hopefully will be able to order it through non-GW LGS even if its a preorder.
>>94395008>They are weirdly specific in design They were made for chuardin/chaos dwarfs as cannon fodder and will be playable in their army when they release.
>>94395526For some reason my brain registered "cannon fodder" as "cannon ammo" and I imagined a mini hellcannon that shoots hobgrots like a circus act
>>94395613Imagine.
>>94395613Well, between the doom diver catapult and the shock attack gun...
>>94395526I don't mind it. I hope that they are midway between chorfs and KB in design, so they work for both factions. Still, it is not an answear to my problem. To make it more clear, I like them, their lore, their models, their role on the battlefield. But every time I try to make them into /my dudes/ they turn out into something I don't, I can't care about. There is something I don't realize about them that I don't like
>>94395526>chuardin/chaos dwarfschuardin? More like Chudardin...get it? because they never win? >>94394589pure elves, pure sneks, Mixed. they are solid builds. Also the last I've heard the horses were ok but illfitting dunno how it's currently.
>>94395645>>94395649It does not work for hobgrots. On the other hand, I could see them as involuntary suicide bombers, hobgrots who they have a mighty war machine but it is just a bomb with wheels

Idk if this is the place to ask, but... so I purchased an abhorrant archregent off of amazon and they sent me a terrorgheist/zombie dragon kit instead, which I already have 2 from the start collecting boxes. I wouldn't hate having a third but is there a way I can get what I ordered while keeping what they sent? I feel like it would be difficult to explain what happened to a random customer service rep.
>>94397136Unfortunately not. They normally need you to send the wrong item back before they refund you.Unless it "wasn't delivered"
Anyone have the Skaven and Stormcast battletomes?
>>94397237Yes.
>>94392487Its something Ogors have been doing since they were Ogres. Their skin is so thick and tough that they engage in nasty scarification and piercing rituals Using it as a 'sheath' was taking it to the next level, but it does happen. There are Leadbelchers out there with torches they've rapped through the side of their face so they just have to tilt their head to fire off the cannon in their hands. Butchers shove their cooking utensils in there too.
>>94397136Take the sprue out and just send it back empty, or throw some random empty sprue back in. Amazon usually takes any returns and just throws them in a big pile, some of them get sorted and put back but most get landfilled
I want to make an elite army with very low count and have kickass heroes (no stinky, nasty ass behemats or trolls whatever). I'm basically leaning on bonerbros or dinobros.Katakros + kavalos as his subhero, 4x morghast achai for asskicking and an immortis guard for warding.Arkhan as a fat spellcaster and 10 mortek guards for guarding home.Otherwise I just go for my lizardbrosslann starseer + double reinforced agradon lancers (6+6). oracle troglodon + 2 separate kroxigors and dart dudes(home objective)Any other good armies? I was considering a sylvaneth tree-man only army with the queen centerpiece but plebbit told me that sylvaneth requires a lot of skill with positioning and shit with their own terrain spells/units or whatever.
Where's the mega these days?

>>94399151Maybe they can only pre order a certain amount as for their agreement with GW?They can't get anything they want
