DEldar in reality just scared children.
Under the veneer of depravity and degeneracy there is only a race of creatures who are eternally scared of the very thing they created.
They put up the facade of superiority and degeneracy to hide the fact that they are a lost, dying species that will never achieve any greatness.
And unlike their cousins the DEldar have to perform more and more depraved shit continuesly because eventually they stop being able to feed off the suffering and have to go for higher highs, but eventually there is nothing they can do and they will all wither away and die.
And at the end of the road, only oblivion waits in the maw of Slaanesh.

The price point for playing this game is wildly uneven depending upon the faction you like. You can make a space marine army for under $300. You would be lucky to make something like an admech or a sisters army for under $1,000.

Probably a 2v2 I played that ended in a draw. My marines and some tau vs Tsons and Chaos marines. I even did a write up of it since it was for a Crusade. It was more a win for me and the tau guy than a draw because the chaos tag team had only like 3 models left on turn 5 while we had a few full squads left. Highlights were NOT!Ahriman dueling a Phobos librarian and running away like a hitch, chosen charging crisis suits and broadsides and killing most of them before being hosed off by point blank plasma fire from the suits, and my brutalis almost killing a sorcerer before being interrupted by a doom bolt and like 20 inferno Bolter shots.

I also just played it poorly. It was supply drop, which gives you a couple points for No Mans Land objectives in the first 3 turns then a fuckload of point in the last 2 turns. I dumbly drove forwards to capture ground on turn 1, but they got annihilated and tau just ignored objectives until turn 4, then waltzed onto them after I'd been tabled and got more objective points for it. I should have cowered behind the terrain footprints, castled up to forestall deepstriking suits, then retaliated when he came out into the open.

Warhammer players have a god awful habit of lecturing people. Everytime anyone asks for advice on how to build a particular unit it's always the same corny "build them to look cool!!! Space Marine 2 isn't lore accurate, because in Know No Fear marines die to a couple of standard bolt rounds to the chest while in Space Marine 2 it takes several magical armor piercing Inferno bolt rounds delivered by Rubric Marines to just down a player character. if it's too cold and -10 is definitely too cold it can have effects like that, same with spraying too far away
you can spray in low temps but you need to give your can of primer a hot bath and you have to spray and come back in to warm it up often, and don't leave sprayed models in the cold
99% isopropyl alcohol is your best bet for stripping plastic models, soak for a few hours, take a disposable toothbrush to the model under a running sink, soak again if anything didn't come off with the first round and repeat as needed

Pretty run of the mill novice paintjob with the usual foibles.

- not enough contrast

- rough application of edge highlights, not really representing a consistent light source

- greyscale (black/grey/white) desaturating the colors, overuse makes the paintjob look bland and pallid

- monotone (the blue object has blue highlights and blue shadows, often done by adding black and white to it as above) can get very boring, a green object can have yellow highlights, a red object can have purple shadows, they will still read as their intended color, play with colors more

- the whites of your eyes aren't white and your irises aren't little pinpoints in the center unless you do a lot of crack

If you're spraying in below zero Temps you really need to give your can a hot water bath before spraying. Use the hottest water you can comfortably place your hands in. Let your can sit for 15 mins or more and only spray a few models at a time. Have sprayed in -30c with zero issues since giving my cans spa treatments. For stripping check out the goat

I just finished the Votann novel.

The novel ends with the Kindred finding the location of one the earliest Votann supercomputers ever created. A thinking mega-machine that was created before the Leagues of Votann were a thing. A machine that was probably made on Terra itself during the DAoT

Also, the ancient evil in the novel turned out to be Orks, not Necrons.

How much of a game-changer would it be if the Leagues got their hands on it?

until retarded wound inflation and HHslop marines dying to bolter fire was the absolute norm and completely typical.. they're armor-piercing rounds for a reason.
There's literally four decades of depictions of space marines running around shooting each other and CSM with bolters being lethal. There's Rogue Trader art of marines being shot with Bolters and dying instantly. The diamond-ripped armor piercing rapid fire self propelled grenade launchers used to actually be considered threatening.

The real problem is retarded wound inflation causing damage profiles across the board to skyrocket so that shooting shit with bolters went from completely worth it in 5th edition to literally not even worth the time spent on it or risk running out the clock in 10th.
>>
>>94407402
Bolters were only worth it if you had no other option
Tau would very regularly put down giant templates and instantly kill all MEQ underneath. Eldar had a lot of AP2 weaponry, and bolters just stopped affecting a lot of the strongest creatures like Wraithknights/MCs. Vindicators were marine-chewing monsters but honestly for a lot of the earlier editions you shot things with bolters as little as possible
You had your troop tax and the tact squads were just there as plasma delivery systems

the game's wound inflation officially went to shit the moment MEQ got two wounds each, making the single most common target to shoot at across every faction and something like 90% of the playerbase require twice as much damage to kill.......which led to damage profiles often going fucking quadratic.
This is only made worse by the fact GW has continually cut points across the board to encourage people to buy more plastic and turn 40k into 28mm Epic, so now the most common defensive profile is bloated with 2x as much EHP (or 400-500% more for some specific cancer units) yet often costing 20-30% less, plus now free wargear on top.
It's retarded. It's why the game is shit to play now. It's why there's a bunch of anti-everythint cancer offensive profiles in the game that can chew through not just their "intended" target but literally anything else in the game as well.

return to tradition. MEQ get one wound.

Unluckily for him (should've been bluer) my Kult dumped all of his available shooting into it and blew up the vehicle with him inside, allowing my nobz to charge. The Orks had a wonderful turn 2, killing lots of beakies and having a laff.
The Kult of Speed was so fast, in fact, that there was hardly any room on the table left for any marines. Take a look at the board state here, the Orks were absolutely everywhere.

Yeah man it's a great store for terrain. Never a dull board for me. I also love to pack boards really densely so it helps to have a lot.

Show some random cunt off the street pic related while you're at it, why don't ya.
In fact, I'd wager that if you showed pic related plus that Mandrake illustration, people would guess that they were from the same game sooner than they would showing them Call of Duty wannabe Reivers or NERF gun Desolators

40k is better when the Emperor is and was an unironic god like super human good guy who tried to fix humanity and bring real peace back to the galaxy, but who was then betrayed and back stabbed by people closest to him (Erda, Horus), with even the meta physical forces themselves (Chaos) influencing the galaxy to kill him and end his plans.
It makes him and ensuing Imperium a good tragedy and it works for grimdark as well.
If the Emperor, with his god like powers, might and intelligence, couldn't fix the galaxy, then no one can. With the galaxy and all mortal races within it doomed to seemingly never ending war for survival with only end that comes is a giant fleet of space harvester locusts coming through and eating everyone and everything.

The space marines were equally as brutal, though. He had 10 terminators with 2 characters in deep strike, which went behind me and absolutely destroyed a ton of buggies in my backline. Towards the middle of the game I had to try and wall them off of the center objective with my battlewagon.
It didn't go well for me. The wagon is no match for a ballistus dread and inceptors. They were able to charge the mekboy behind the wagon and steal the center from me.
The Orks didn't have too many things to deal with 10 terminators. My koptas tried their very best (6d3+12 for blast shots with rokkit launchas with sustained hits only gave me 2 hits. Not a good roll for me there), but weren't enough.
>>94407639

40k is literally Warhammer Fantasy Battles, but in Space.
It is a Space Fantasy game and always has been; if you want to pretend Space Fantasy and scifi are the same thing then sure, it's as Sci-Fi as StarWars or A Princess of Mars is. Saying something "doesn't fit a scifi setting" is a completely disingenuous argument though, when all the things that anon is whining about are 10000% fitting with Space Fantasy.

Towards the end of the game, Speedwagon was all the way in the space wolves' deployment zone and had killed a gladiator lancer. They also wiped out a lone eliminator just for the fun of it.
The Orks were running out of fuel and ammo though, the terminators were proving themselves to be quite the threat. In my backline I did have some Stormboyz kill some inceptors after completing some actions for me, but they were promptly shot to death afterwards. Such is the life for a stormboy.

And here's the fight that ended it all. The terminators, having been dealt almost no damage (koptas have failed me), made a big 9" charge back onto the space wolves' home objective which had been taken by the Orks. Speedwagon and his krew were no match for the might of 10 thunderhammers, and were obliterated. The unit kill gave the wolves player the final points that he needed in order to win the game.

Running the numbers real quick, a tactical squad with 8 bolters (accounting for two special weapons) will on average kill one MEQ (5E marines with 1W) that isn't in cover in a round of shooting (2 kills within 12"). That's extremely unimpressive.

The irony is that the s o y boys are more right than the people with Helbrecht bodypillows since even Black Templars aren't as edgy and one note as their players have flanderised them as. Grimaldus tries his best to save civilians within reason and respects normal human soldiers he fights alongside. 40k was better when the Emperor and his motives were largely an enigma because it left some mystery as to what he envisioned the Imperium becoming, whether the Heresy was justified, whether he was a tyrant or benevolent, and whether he was alive or dead. Some people just don't understand that the questions of the setting can be more interesting than a solid answer.

Terrible taste anon idk what else to say. I agree with the other anon that's HHs over explaining everything is a curse that continues to blight 40k on and off the table.

That's why my favourite 30k story is The Last Church since it only gives a few juicy morsels about the unification wars and techno-barbarians and leaves most of it a mystery still. No time wasting subplots like the canal, and no giving a play by play of the Emperor's plans/actions just implying that he's following an enigmatic "Golden Path" type thread he thinks is best for humanity despite the horrific cost.

The entire fight was decided by a series of melee that saw his captain, lieutenant and bladeguard veterans against my Chaos Lord and his Terminator bodyguard on on side, and his Death Company +Lemartes fighting my melee Legionaries with dark Apostle on the other.

My chaos lord and the last remaining Terminator managed to clean house tearing his captain and bodyguards to shreds while on the other side my Legionaries destroyed the Death Company thanks to a death hex from a nearby Terminator sorcerer

Definitely my 5k game against necrons. So much fun playing such a large game without apocalypse rules.
At a normal size though, it was the last game from my first tournament.

Background:
>Close to the end of 9th edition, 1k pts tournament
>Was really into snaggas at the time
>Decided that since we were on a 44x30 board size I could go for a Turn 1 Waaagh!! list
>Fast as fuck squigs with trukks for infantry for an extra 3" by popping out
Anyway, into the game:
>Last opponent is grey knights
>Lots of baby carriers, which are t6 vehicles
>Bad news for him, squighogs at the time get +1 to hit vehicles and hit at s7 with a LOT of 2 damage weapons
>Get second turn
>He moves up, and I call the Waaagh!! on my turn
>Every unit is in melee with something, some units crossing the board into his deployment zone
>He has 1 unit of infantry and 1 baby carrier left alive at the end of my turn 1
>Opponent, who was clearly not having a good time, was literally throwing his models into his boxes as I killed them
>Called the game at turn 2 and walked out of the store before victors were announced
>Got 2nd place in the tournament

We don't use trips so if someone did, nobody knows who did it. Sometimes we have a known anon like the Frozen Flames guy who's allergic to tall, athletic female Custard femdom but most aren't known.

I'll post my models in 2 weeks after I get my first paycheck and finish painting my whole army that day using slapchop.

I post my models in earnest conversations about models or when some simply asks "post models" and posts their own models first. It's just common courtesy.

I'm trying to break into your home right now to post pictures of your minis. So far, I'm trying to empty your fridge to use it for pictures.

I tend to post pictures of models and games as they happen. I haven't been playing too much recently, as life is life sometimes, but I did post a report of a game I had today here >>94407561.
When I finish a unit I'll post it a few times, and if I'm engaging in a conversation I'll post a model or game if it's relevant to what I'm talking about, if nothing more than to show that I know somewhat what I'm talking about.
Here's my most recent unit just so you can have more models posted.

Hopefully, no. I'd be happy with humanity suicide bombing chaos with their souls, paving a way for a new races to live in the galaxy without warp bullshitery.

Should I build a iron hands army now or wait until their refresh?

Is it a waste running scions in chimeras rather than using their deep strike? I'm thinking of just using 100% scions for my mech infantry list.

It is preferred by people who don't like painting and just want to get paint on the mini so it's legal to play.
Of course majority of it will be soulless.

There are already some Primaris armor parts on some chaos marine kits and they already exist in the lore

How will you look at your collection and field your Emperor's Children army without thinking about Rylanor and how you're objectively wrong for collecting and playing those pathetic weaklings?

That's almost certainly what they are. But a bunch of primera Space Marines also got their loyalty flipped by Angron when khorne psycho bombed them through their beacon.

Don't use them, they got nerfed to the ground unfortunately.
Also I don't think you can attach them to Szeras, since they can only join crypteks leading a unit. Besides Szeras having a 4+++ naturally already.
