Do you think anyone will mind or be confused if I use the old Dark Vengeance starter set Chaos Lord as the Aspiring Champion for my Legionary squads? I feel like he fits pretty well in the role, the weapons are right for HMW+plasma pistol and the scale is about right given that he's a Lord in the old scale, meaning he's just slightly bigger than a Legionary out of the current kit but significantly smaller than the current Chaos Lord kit.

What I suggest is using a darker color with better coverage like Vallejo Model color dark sand or pale sand and then adding wraithbone to highlight it. The darker, stronger vallejo paint underneath covers up the green for you and transitions nicely into wraithbone. not bad for your first dudes, pait is a bit thick on some parts and too thin on others. but at least you're paitning mostly within the lines. clean the moldlines next time before you prime. the models are a bit dark. try drybrushing them with that light green you used.The skull on top of this guy is pale sand mixed with dark sand, the seraphim sepia, then pale sand/dark sand again, then pale sand highlight.
