I love it! Glossy black is always a great choice for chaos warriors. The gold is nice, although I think you should layer it up 1 shade brighter to really make it pop. The scratchy weathering effect on the shield looks really cool too. As for the horns, if you're feeling up to it, you can make them look a lot better by painting small lines of a lighter bone colour from the base to the tip, leaving a little gap between them. It'll make it look like the horn has striations, which will look very realistic. Alternatively, you could try blending and glazing, but painting lines is way easier. Overall, I think your first chaos warrior looks great, anon! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your warband. Soon enough, you'll have mighty regiments of your own.

Some cool units but you aren’t nearly as tough or damaging as you’d think paying that many points per model. Ogres entire thing this edition is pretty much ignoring stepup with high wound counts.

I’m sorry to say that most of our cool stuff bar mournfangs and gorgers are overcosted for what they do only because you have 3 wounds. Also you have 2 war machines that you don’t fire because losing 180pts to misfires is brutal

Am I stupid, or are daemon princes immune to the effects of the dragon slaying sword? Monstrous infantry technically isn't a monstrous creature or a behemoth, and the dragon slaying sword only works on monstrous creatures and behemoths specifically. Although, that would mean that the Killing Blow rule would work on them. Interesting! Is that why competitive players are running flying daemon princes now? I remember people saying that daemon princes were really bad when TOW first came out. I've been looking for an excuse to get an old-school daemon prince or a greater daemon (probably a keeper of secrets or a lord of change, maybe a GUO) as a fun project and a break from painting several regiments of warriors in a row but now it'd just look like I'm meta-chasing. Maybe I'll hold off on that and just paint some extra chaos sorcerers instead.
On a completely unrelated note, man the RoC-era keeper of secrets is cool. He's so much better than the other greater daemon models of the time. Of the 6th ed era greater daemon models, the lord of change is by far the coolest, but I'm also partial to the 6th ed keeper of secrets and great unclean one too.

I don't think a 6+/4++/5+++ is that risky... but I see your point. From what I've observed, people are giving their daemon princes the armour of silvered steel to get that 6+ to a 3+ that can't be modified. 3+/4++/6++ at WS7 T5 (6 if the DP has the mark of nurgle and casts fleshy abundance) doesn't seem that weak. And it even flies! A DP of nurgle with wings, 2 levels of wizardry, battle magic, the armour of silvered steel and the giant blade comes out to 375 points... That seems useful! It's obviously not going to replace the chaos lord on a dragon, but a lot of people seem to be running something similar now. I thought it was to get around the anti-dragon bretonnia lists, but maybe I'm wrong.

My bad, I was confusing it with the armour of meteoric iron. The armour of silvered steel just gives you a 3+ that can't be improved. Still though, 3+/4++/5++ on a model with W4 and T5 (6 with fleshy abundance) is pretty nice. It's an interesting option! You could even make your DP a level 4 wizard if you wanted to, so you'd be able to have 3 level 4s in a 2000 point list... That's kinda dumb! As the other anon said, a dragonlord can be too much, so a daemon prince would be more fun for everyone involved. Now I really want to paint one!

Had only one game vs ogres. Standard ogres can munch trough any light/medium infantry. Ironguts can destroy everything. Ogre heroes are scary. Backline appearing gorgers are scary. Ogres are very bad at taking range damage, have very few tools to protect themselves from cavalry/chariot/monster charges. My opponent never used gboblar units of any sort except trappers but said that advancing behind gnoblar screen is useless.

These all count as advances, and stack. So if you have 13 advances in Consume Alcohol before you start paying xp, the first time you buy an advance in Consume Alcohol, you look at how much your 14th advance costs not your 1st advance. Ditto if you put 5 advances into Toughness - next advance will be your 6th.

Oooh, okay. So if I make a human, roll a strength of 15, and decide to raise it to 17, I pay 50 XP, and not 90. Thank you, because paying 50 XP to get +1 to a stat by accepting Tzeentch's rule made it felt unworthy, better to reroll.
I'm a bit confused by the terminology, but it comes from the fact I'm still learning Warhammer's words. I think I get it.

Meaning that, shit, you're pretty much locked into your career and can't really level up social if you play a duellist, correct? Or can you still advance stats that aren't marked?

3. You only have access to your current career rank's talents.
4. You get 1-3 downtime endeavours (1 per week of downtime, max 3) that can be used to reduce the cost of learning skills and characteristics (Training endeavour) or learn talents you don't have access to. (Unusual Learning endeavour)

Changing career / advancing to a new rank is also a bit complicated.
The base cost is 100xp. This assumes you have 1 talent and X advances in skills and characteristics from your current rank (X is that career rank x5).
If you're leaving early, that's +100xp.
With GM permission you can skip 1-2 career ranks, using the same above costs. Note this means you don't get to purchase talents from career ranks you skip.
You can also change career entirely, switching to any career's first rank. (same costs)
After you complete a career rank, you may be allowed to switch to any career within the same class, at the same rank. (ie; switching from Duellist to Envoy)
Then there's the Change Career endeavour, which effectively reduces the cost of changing career by 100xp.
